There is no way for us to know how much damage Kvasir's O'Neill did to the Ori warships. But we can deduce two things. First, Kvasir and his ship likely survived the battle as it had the best performance of the allied fleet and we didn't see its wreckage afterwards. Second, a year later the Asgard developed a beam weapon that could punch through Ori shields in a few shots. These weapons were likely created with help from the data Kvasir gathered during the battle.
I love Daniel's attempt at citing the Book of Origin back to the Ori forces. It shows that he took the time and read the ideology of the other side and is versed enough in it to recite it. Of course the Ori will not stop their invasion and doing evil just because the Book of Origin also preaches not to be evil. But its a good moment that shows the honesty of Daniel and the dishonesty of the Ori.
It kind of plays back to the real crusades when Catholic soldiers would still raid the middle east and Islamic and Jewish leaders would quote the bible to try to spare their towns. It really makes it realistic. Amazing. Even today the US government tries to disarm Islamic terrorist with Quran quotes but of course it won't work because they just want an excuse to fight
2:18 This was such a "Oh fuck!" moment when I first watched it. It was like "Did that Ori ship just one shot a ha'tak? And there are four of these things? Oh crap..."
When a Ha’tak fails, you know it’s an oh shit moment. Sure it’s a simple and primitive ship, but it worked. It helped the Goa’uld rule the galaxy for thousands of years.
True, disposing of a Ha'tak like that generally meant "very advanced species, run like hell".... ...aaaand there is the fact the Ori ships don't care if the Ha'tak is an Anubis edition or not, they blow up the same. That is scary.
"In the name of the Gods, ships shall be built to carry the warriors out among the stars and we will spread Origin to all the unbelievers. The power of the Ori will be felt far and wide and the wicked shall be vanquished." Not gonna lie. This scene felt like an actual beginning of a holy crusade.

@@brummyuk2151 Yeah, the ending was utterly dissapointing. What a waste of opportunity. This battle scene is crazy good, epic and chilling. Even after all these years. The fact that the galaxy stood as one, Earth, the Jaffas, the Lucien Alliance and the Asgards fighting together and getting obliterated by just a handful of enemy ships. Ha'taks were the most powerful spacecrafts in the Milky Way galaxy for literally thousands of years. The Goa'uld used to opress entire planets with just one of these motherships and then in this battle they all get one-shot by the Ori. Deadalus-class Earth battlecruisers that are rocking Asgard shields, are getting disabled by just two shots and destroyed by three. And though not shown, probably the O'Neill-class Asgard mothership did not faire too well in the battle either. All that impact combined with the music, the visuals, the acting. This battle sequence is something that will always stay with me when I think of space battles. It is a masterpiece.
@@Onlyalilfool I never said it wasn't destroyed. I am arguing about whether it was O'Neil class ship (A ship that is suppeosed to be equipped with their best tech). Given the evidence, How good Asgard's best tech performed in final episode, I have quite hard time beleiving that it was Asgards top class ship.
@@mbalcik1811 It also was built to destroy replicators, so the tech it had was probably not good enough to defeat the Ori, yet. I really wanted them to take out at least one of the Ori ships, especially with their combined firepower.
The hatak vessels were mostly utilised as troop carriers and for orbital bombardment. They were seriously outclassed by Asgard motherships for most of their history until Anubis retrofitted some of them with Ancient energy shields. Like most Goa'uld military technology they were designed to be deployed against Bronze Age populations, with actual ship-to-ship warfare being comparatively infrequent, putting them at a disadvantage when confronted by vessels intruding from the Ida galaxy.
I wish I could go back and experience this episode for the first time again. Man, that summer hiatus until the beginning of Season 10 was quite a nail biter. That on top of the Atlantis Season finale that same night, it was a lot of "Uh oh, this isn't good!" 😂 Man, Sci-Fi Friday nights back in the 2000s was so much fun!
sounds like a muslim quote back when they would jihads and holy wars...7th century. actually the ori remind of the muslims. accept our religion or die.
This battle had it all. The ominous build-up as the gate activated and seeing the Ori fleet arrive, their ships hovering menacingly preparing for slaughter. Seeing the best ships of different factions standing side by side in a gathering never seen before or since and yet was still not enough. We watch in horror as the once formidable Ha'taks are effortlessly obliterated by the Ori, and with the human ships faring not much better. The sudden hope of fresh reinforcements to potentially turn the tide, only to be swatted like gnats. And finally the aliance fleet floating in ruins. The ori ships not bothering to evade the debris and just plowing through with their shields. Ready to continue their crusade through the galaxy.
It's an absolute crime that Stargate is no longer on TV!!! It was one of the best sci fi programs ever made and rivaled star trek which is saying something!!!! Atlantis was awesome as well and now we have lost both of them and the person in charge of the decision to end them and put Stargate universe on instead shouldn't have a job in TV!!!
I hear you but part of what makes a show good is the fact that its limited. A good show cant go on forever because eventually the whole plot gets distorted. Lets be happy for the many seasons of sg-1 and as well as the movies, and the really awesome storyline of atlantis that also towards the end managed to wrap things up beautifully.
It’s also amazing because it allowed human society as it exists TODAY to venture among the stars. Not an individual lost in space or an earth centuries ahead of our own, but our generation, our military, our nations. Star Trek never dared anything like that.
I've always thought the Ori destroying the Korolev on her maiden voyage would have had the same effect on the viewer as the Dominion effortlessly crippling, then destroying the USS Odyssey in Deep Space Nine years earlier. In universe, both ships were the most powerful that our heroes could field at the time, and they stood no chance.
Definitely got the fear factor going in both instances. The Ori have the edge in fear induced by superior tech. They effortlessly annihilate everything thrown at them and don't even get scratched. To take the Odyssey out the Dominion rammed it with one of their ships. The technology was potent but the fear factor was learning that they'll sacrifice themselves with no hesitation.
@JT Bush Desperately fighting against the Replicators, remember they lived in the Ida Galaxy not the Milky Way, they enforced the treaties with the Goa'uld through bluffing as they admitted.

@@fallenhero4550The replicators were no longer a threat at that time! But I guess it takes time to build ships of that level of technology (which are not Beliskner, don't know why a guy say that). And it would have needed many of them, more than the two or three they had left 😂
I just can't get over the fact that everyone on Earth is just going about their business completely unaware that Russia and the United States are fighting a giant space battle against a galaxy spanning empire. This is why I love Stargate.
The Stargate program was also known to China and other developed countries. These countries paid money to the United States, as a monopolist with access to extraterrestrial technologies and stargates. The ship donated by the Russians was a payment for help in repairing the stargate. All countries participating in the Stargate program received scientific and technical dividends. Only the secret services and selected individuals were aware. Ordinary people were in the dark.
You can actually see that they ships are moving closer to the Ori ships - the Asgard ships and some Ha'Taks made it out of the firing arc only to get under fire of those bluish close range weaponry - and they as well get obliterated. Another issue is, that they didn't know the strength of shields, nor weaponry of the Ori-ships before the battle. They couldn't possibly anticipate a frontal beam weapon that woud oneshot a Ha'Tak. Also, that first shot took out sublight engines of the Odyssey and the Korolev lost power as well. So even if they wanted to change their positions, they were not able to. If you're gonna suggest a strategy, maybe try one that's feasible without the benefit of hindsight.
@@ImAmirus You don't need to try it , The Ori have the similar technology level as the ancients . The human and Goa'uld weapons are useless against the Ori shield, its like shooting a tank with a pistol .
It is a difference between technologies of them.... Ori is kind of cheat in a case that they can send and guide the Prior a knowledge for many millions years since the age before the Ancient will Seperated from the Alteran galaxy How new species can fight against the Ori when they suddenly lunch 4 ori other ship through the supergate? However ori mother ship housed 2 weapons. Main front heavy energy beam weapon and pulse energy werpon on a side of their ship. Plus the frequency of fire rate of those ori pulse weapon are greater than both asgard and the goa'uld with their targeting firing system with not missed even 1 shot. As we see no matter where ha'tak drive in any side of ori mother ship The most deadly position are at front and 2 side. Like a strategy of Wraith hive ship these 4 ori mothership cover their weak point by help each other. And as we can see these 4 ship never abandon their position and stand strong in their position. Only the top, under and back of ori mothership would be the batter position which any enemies should stay... At least to buy a longer time for battle. I feels quite disappoint that ha'tak possessed 60 plasma cannon but can't fire all at once at will maybe cause it control by 1 cannoneers at peltak. And yes, took 1 short from ori beam if the enermy not been destroyed their ship system should be heavy damage, highly effect with their drive engine systems which caused them unable to change position. I quite envy ha'tak that they possessed special engine which non heat which make them freely move anywhere in needed. I doubted for long time ago... Did the big wide ring in a middle of ori ship that glowing bright. Is that a shield generator? If it is, it is no doubt that how powerful shield strength they got😅
Honestly, I think that despite all the devastation in this battle, it's really Sam's face that gets me the most. I am a DS9 fan so I can tell you. While stargate is very episodic it has this very very quiet story arc going on. Tech slowly gets better, earth teams go from bumbling twits to actually starting to stand up and be counted (on a galactic scale). It's a good show, as is Stargate Atlantis its direct successor/parallel running show (like TNG/DS9) It has its filler/sillier episodes mind, but all sci fi does :)
@@crystallineentityAnd that's what separates Stargate from startrek. Stargates top species have the best tech, created over eons. Yet starfleet has "Asgard tech" and is only 400 years in the future. Story telling to me is bland when you can do everything and anything in that time frame, boring. And worse, they still use warp. Star trek is one show that will age badly because of this. 400 years into the future and humanity has god tech, except for ftl.
This fight was a slaughter no matter what the allied fleet did. Beam weapons that could drop an Asgard shield to 50% in one hit and pulse weapons that quickly destroyed a Ha’tak. If one weapon didn’t get you, the others would.
This battle in particular aswell as those in stargate atlantis shows that before the asgard beam weapons the 304s couldn't really harm anything outside a goa'uld ha'tak unless they used nukes or targeted rail gun fire to a specific point. Still the 304s are my favourite ships from any of the stargate series
Can't even harm a Ha'tak! Missiles? Yeah, energy-shields...same for railguns! That they didn't copy Goa'uld energy-weapons (as bad as they are compared to what other advanced species use like the Tollan, the Asgard and even the Ancients (their Auroras have secondary weapons - drones being the main armament)) is something I am truly pissed off about, because both Samantha Carter and Rodney McKay would have noted this ("Sir? Those ships we are building, they are a waste of resources, they can't do their main job: Stop Goa'uld ships! They are almost as bad at their job as we are at ours!" (Note: That last sentence is there because I think SG-1 wasn't good at getting technology, not really...they could win the popularity contest with the aliens out there, but over all they did a bad job...hell, the Asgard kind of took pity on us :( )
I would like to point out that it wasn't even the asgard beam weapons that were so strong. It was the combination of Asgard beams powered by an ancient ZPM that was OP. Combining the best of both race's technologies was insane. There are a number of scenes in Atlantis that involved upgraded 304s without ZPMs and they're shown to be much weaker.
@@Dubanx The ZPM is only a powersource! Why are the Asgard-Systems better with one tied in? Human ships are too small and underpowered for the systems that were bolted on later! I mean compare a 304 to the other major ships in the setting - from a Ha'tak to an Asgard Ship and even a Wratih Hive! They are this large - why? Power-Generation IMHO (ZPMs are rare even for the ancients, their own ships usually didn't have them!)
Remember the early days when the Tau'ri couldn't even make a dent in Goa'uld shields and now here come the Ori that are cutting through Ha'taks like they are made of butter!
Which makes perfect sense. For one the Goa'Uld were severely weakened over the course of the series, so a lot of the newer ships would be made with worse materials. And also the Goa'Uld are scavengers; most of their technology was stolen from the Ancients and cobbled together (the replicators were shown able to improve Goa'Uld ships easily because they know how to optimise). The Ori meanwhile have the original technology as well as full mastery and understanding of it. They know how all this stuff works and thus are able to make much more powerful technology at a fraction of the effort.
@@katier9725The Goa'uld have gathered technology from all over the galaxy, enslaving or destroying advanced civilizations. The weakness of the Goa'udas was in their selfishness and power struggle with each other. Culturally, the Goa'uld remained savages, because in fact they were only a parasitic species, without the ability to evolve. The advantage of the Goa'uld was not in technology, but in sabotage and covert penetration into the highest echelons of power.
Seeing those Goauld ships get 1 shot so easily, I always find it cool in any show to see Season 1 villains/their technology go up against a new more powerful villain from a later season. The Goauld in Season 1 were like unstoppable but in later seasons they've really been reduced to nothing more than a nuisance.
This battle is one of the best out of the whole franchise, but as a "tactical" view. I feel like after what Daniel told them about the Ori and how they were no better than the Goa'Uld System Lords that if I were in command of the fleet at the Supergate. As soon as the first ship emerged I'd have had all ships concentrate fire on, because maybe with the combined firepower of all the ships bearing down on the one Mothership. They could maybe have destroyed one of the Motherships before they could get into formation. As a great Sargent once said "They're tough but they ain't invincible."
I really love SG ship designs so much Especially these Ori-Mothership With that big brutal beam weapon it is really overpower than the Ancient technologie
One thing I love about this battle, is how _casually_ the Ori are shown one-shotting Goa'uld Ha'taks. At the beginning of the series, just _two_ Ha'taks were considered unstoppable, and powerful enough to conquer Earth. To go from top dog to cannon fodder over the course of eight years. My, how the tables have turned. _And I love it._
Vala, in particular, was a much needed breathe of fresh air to the show. As villains, the Ori were almost certainly the weakest n all of stargate (plot wise), but only a handful of episodes involved them directly. The episodes that didn't involve them directly (read most of 9-10) were really good. Season 6 also gets a lot of flak, because of Jonas, but if you ask me it had a lot of the best episodes in the series. In my opinion, season 7 was the low point of the series. The first 2/3 of that season seemed really formulaic and just dragged on. Like they were just going through the motions. Even if the Ori were weak, I agree that season 9 and 10 were solid and enjoyable regardless.
@@brummyuk2151 The (not actually gods) Ori were just the goul'd but played up even more. Thematically, they added literally nothing to the story that the goul'd didn't have. Adria even acted exactly like the goul'd. Meanwhile, Tomin just felt flat as a character. He was boring. The entire thing stunk of desperation. Like the writers suddenly went "Oh, shit, now we don't have a villain what the hell do we do?" and pulled this shit out of there asses Especially when you compare them to much more compelling villains such as Ba'al, the Lucian Alliance, and even the somewhat sympathetic characters among the wraith. They fall way short.
@@Dubanx I thought back then, that in Season 10, last 3 episodes salvaged it. Other than that Season 9 & 10 were forgettable, Ori were really pathetic as they did not have any physical form and Adria could not really demonstrate enough power, the priors were just slaves and not truly their own masters the way the goulds used to be. The goulds were defeated by a coalition of Tauri, Jaffa, Tokra and Asgard after ruling the galaxy for thousands of years, whereas the Ori was defeated by the Tauri all on their own and it was so shortlived.

Look at any battle in history with large armoured warships or tanks. Shells impacting the armour could still cause internal damage to crew and systems; even if the individual shells didn't penetrate the armour.

The way their shields just tank everything thrown at them while their weapons basically oneshot Goa'uld motherships, once the most powerful and menacing spacecraft known to us... The Korolev being destroyed in such a beautifully horrifying way... Everything in this scene conveys the message : There's a new threat in the galaxy, unlike anything before and it is terrifying !

Stargate Central 210 subscribers The Battle of P3Y-229 showed Earth are their allies were so very very very unprepared against the first wave of Ori Motherships. It's a good thing the Asgard finally managed to give humanity their latest in Asgard weapons, the Asgard Plasma Beam Weapons (which came in handy).
Even after all these years, i still love this, makes me wonder also what would of happen if they battled the replicators, if just one ship got taken over by them the Ori would likely have a difficult time since replicators are extremely well at adapting to new technology they would easily counter there ships. If they battle the Atlantis replicators there would be screwed i think since there are extremely advanced form from the milky way ones and were designed by the ancient's
Replicators would not have posed a threat to the oris. They have ascended technology. The same kind that defeated the replicators. (Even stronger now that I write this...) It's like Anubis vs the Oris... Anubis would not have been a danger to them. That's why SG1 needed other ascended beings to defeat them. It's like a war in heaven in which we are involved.
having the opportunity to prepare, I expected something more from the defenders. Minefields before exiting the gate, in disguise mode. Combat satellites. Squadrons of light ships. Pre-prepared tactics to deal with a superior enemy (focus on attacking 1 spaceship). At least 1 destroyed Ori ship should have justified such huge losses.
None of that would have done Jack the Ori Motherships are Piloted by the Priors making them nearly indestructible the only thing that could get past their shields is the Asgard Beam Weapons but they weren’t built until a year later
THIS was the peak of Ori Power. The shattered an entire alliance. And then when the asgard choose to end their own life and gave earth all the tech and knowledge they had....and they 7 shot such a monster it was like "HOLY JESUS!"
Maybe He was thinking of flying insider the shield of the Ori ship and Attack on Point blank range. Like O'Neill and Carter did with Anubis Flag Ship in the beginning of Season 7. And yes I know they had made a short hyper jumper and the F 302 can Do this anymore.
Think he was thinking along the lines of more targets to draw attention away from the carrier. That said it saved a few of the pilots by getting them off the ship before it blew.
A plan of desperation rather than tactical advantage. In a situation like this, you either die trying to fight, or die standing still. I'd rather go out fighting.
I'm surprised the Asgard cruiser didn't do more, considering that Asgard beam weapons are what ultimately turned out to be able to destroy Ori motherships.
Asgard beams wasn't develop when the Ori began its invasion. As what Daniel said "its probably its first wave" meaning the first battle with the Ori. Only after the battle is when Asgard decided to develop. That Asgard ship that took part in the battle must of survive and got data of Ori shields. Leading to Asgard making the beams capable destroying Ori shields and ships.
What I like about the DS9 Battle is that both sides had nearly equal technology with no technological disadvantageous. The Federation, Klingons and Romulans did just as much damage to The Dominion as The Dominion did just as much damage to the Federation but not the case with Stargate the Ori ships which had impenetrable shields as shown in this scene which was a major disadvantage for the Free Jaffa Nation, Tau'ri and Lucian Alliance.

@stephenkenney8290 this. The O'Neills were tough enough to hold out they just needed more punch.
But its a good moment that shows the honesty of Daniel and the dishonesty of the Ori.
shame it didn't work though
I love it too
It kind of plays back to the real crusades when Catholic soldiers would still raid the middle east and Islamic and Jewish leaders would quote the bible to try to spare their towns. It really makes it realistic. Amazing. Even today the US government tries to disarm Islamic terrorist with Quran quotes but of course it won't work because they just want an excuse to fight
Quoting someone's own words back at them to win an argument usually has little effect other than pissing them off.

Colonel chekov was one of my favorite characters in the series yes he was a Russian colonel but a very cool guy.
He was a cold war veteran, more than likely spent most of his life being told Americans were the purest form of evil, his biggest enemy and such, but grew to be accepting of them, almost friendly even. He really wasn't a bad guy
@@LoveLife-eo4xk That is clearly an O’Neil Class vessel and I’m fairly sure it was confirmed destroyed.

It was O'Neill class,IT was only ship who wasnt destroyed or suffer big damage but IT wasnt enough

Stargate writing was always great, but the Ori were top tier
Destiny killed the franchise
I hear you but part of what makes a show good is the fact that its limited. A good show cant go on forever because eventually the whole plot gets distorted. Lets be happy for the many seasons of sg-1 and as well as the movies, and the really awesome storyline of atlantis that also towards the end managed to wrap things up beautifully.
It’s also amazing because it allowed human society as it exists TODAY to venture among the stars. Not an individual lost in space or an earth centuries ahead of our own, but our generation, our military, our nations. Star Trek never dared anything like that.
Sam just sitting there witnessing that fleet get decimated and possibly seeing all her friends killed.
Pity we don't get great stuff like this nowadays, there's a reason it went on for so many seasons unlike the tripe we get now

These countries paid money to the United States, as a monopolist with access to extraterrestrial technologies and stargates. "To all ships, do not attempt any tactic except sitting as a stationary target in front of their ships only offensive weapon"
@@ImAmirus Even if they focus fire it won't achieve anything.
@@ImAmirus You don't need to try it , The Ori have the similar technology level as the ancients . The human and Goa'uld weapons are useless against the Ori shield, its like shooting a tank with a pistol .
It is a difference between technologies of them.... Ori is kind of cheat in a case that they can send and guide the Prior a knowledge for many millions years since the age before the Ancient will Seperated from the Alteran galaxy
How new species can fight against the Ori when they suddenly lunch 4 ori other ship through the supergate?
However ori mother ship housed 2 weapons. Main front heavy energy beam weapon and pulse energy werpon on a side of their ship.
Plus the frequency of fire rate of those ori pulse weapon are greater than both asgard and the goa'uld with their targeting firing system with not missed even 1 shot.
As we see no matter where ha'tak drive in any side of ori mother ship
The most deadly position are at front and 2 side.

I haven't seen a great deal of Stargate, and Star Trek DS9 is sort of my go-to, but damn, credit goes where it's due: this is a hell of a scene. Wow.
I am a DS9 fan so I can tell you. While stargate is very episodic it has this very very quiet story arc going on. Tech slowly gets better, earth teams go from bumbling twits to actually starting to stand up and be counted (on a galactic scale). It's a good show, as is Stargate Atlantis its direct successor/parallel running show (like TNG/DS9)
It has its filler/sillier episodes mind, but all sci fi does :)
So many years have passed and still this episode gets to me 😢
This battle in particular aswell as those in stargate atlantis shows that before the asgard beam weapons the 304s couldn't really harm anything outside a goa'uld ha'tak unless they used nukes or targeted rail gun fire to a specific point.
They are almost as bad at their job as we are at ours!" (Note: That last sentence is there because I think SG-1 wasn't good at getting technology, not really...they could win the popularity contest with the aliens out there, but over all they did a bad job...hell, the Asgard kind of took pity on us :( )
@@dreamingflurry2729 I suspect much of the technology to build Prometheus came from Mayborne and his operations, not from SG1.
People you are really confused about asgard ships! Remember there were at least two evolutions with them.
Ha'tak
That's because of the Asgard technology
Heyy, fancy seeing you here.
That was not a battle that was a slaughter.
Battle was over before it even began. Just like Wolf 359 in Star Trek
Or possibly - to quote the Daleks from Doctor Who - This is not war. This is pest control.
I felt so helpless watching this for the first time, one of the greatest battles on the show
I really love SG ship designs so much
Especially these Ori-Mothership
With that big brutal beam weapon it is really overpower than the Ancient technologie
This episode came out in 2006, was part of a season with a massive budget cut, and it still looks good in 2023.
Stargate: ya, we can do space battles too Star Trek!

Some Prior, in response to Daniel, is saying something like "Even the devil can quote the book of origin."
I see a lot of complaints about season 9-10 but i thought they were so exciting and creative. Really reinvigorated the series.

The (not actually gods) Ori were just the goul'd but played up even more. Thematically, they added literally nothing to the story that the goul'd didn't have. Adria even acted exactly like the goul'd. Meanwhile, Tomin just felt flat as a character. He was boring.
The entire thing stunk of desperation. Like the writers suddenly went "Oh, shit, now we don't have a villain what the hell do we do?" and pulled this shit out of there asses
Especially when you compare them to much more compelling villains such as Ba'al, the Lucian Alliance, and even the somewhat sympathetic characters among the wraith.
The goulds were defeated by a coalition of Tauri, Jaffa, Tokra and Asgard after ruling the galaxy for thousands of years, whereas the Ori was defeated by the Tauri all on their own and it was so shortlived.

internal Damage and power spikes would not be unusual in a world with energy shields. Shields mitigate damage, not prevent it outright. Just as with real shields and armour, one may block the piercing damage of a Projectile, yet still take blunt force trauma from the impact beneath one's armour.
Look at any battle in history with large armoured warships or tanks. Shells impacting the armour could still cause internal damage to crew and systems; even if the individual shells didn't penetrate the armour.

Even after all these years, i still love this, makes me wonder also what would of happen if they battled the replicators, if just one ship got taken over by them the Ori would likely have a difficult time since replicators are extremely well at adapting to new technology they would easily counter there ships. The Ark of Truth was such a missed opportunity. Ori vs Replicators would have been great.
Replicators would not have posed a threat to the oris.
They have ascended technology. The same kind that defeated the replicators. (Even stronger now that I write this...)
It's like Anubis vs the Oris...

What I don't get is what did Cam think a few F302's were going to do against the Ori fleet?
Maybe He was thinking of flying insider the shield of the Ori ship and Attack on Point blank range. Like O'Neill and Carter did with Anubis Flag Ship in the beginning of Season 7. And yes I know they had made a short hyper jumper and the F 302 can Do this anymore.
Think he was thinking along the lines of more targets to draw attention away from the carrier. That said it saved a few of the pilots by getting them off the ship before it blew.
He clearly tells Chekhov that he wants to Draw the Ori Mothership fire so the Kovalev can escape
A plan of desperation rather than tactical advantage. In a situation like this, you either die trying to fight, or die standing still. I'd rather go out fighting.
Anyone know the name of the background music please?
Stargate ost camelot
Best show ever.
The fact that they litterally took a startrek DS9 scene for when tealc arrives only to get popped kills me
What I like about the DS9 Battle is that both sides had nearly equal technology with no technological disadvantageous.
@@williamr1088 I used to love stargate due to watching the series when i was seriously sick when young but as the writting got worse in later seasons i really started to dislike it and this is just one example. Another major example is how the jaffa liberation was all happened off screen
@@LainsWonderland If you read what happened, basically Stargate SG-1 was under constant threat of being canceled after season 6.
My guess is that they didn't want to start writing that Arc only to have it canceled and left hanging.
i like to compare the to the battle of Worf 359 given how well it went for the allied fleet here
The Asgard don't even have a punch
Stargate teaching us invaluable lessons on religion.
Theoretically before ship fully emerges through gate and assuming that shield generator is not on it's front they should be very easy to destroy, just time ur weapon nicely xD as generantor was not "re-assembeled" yet.
Seasons 9 and 10 are not the best of the series, but this scene is one of the best things they managed to create! Still just as intense to watch, and that music is sublime!
now i know where most of Season 9's budget went.
I bet this episode was a big hit when it aired back in 2006.
I remember watching this episode I was like oh crud when the Ori ships came through the supergate
