    Thanks so much, I was mystified last year - why didn't my dahlias bloom? I believe now that they didn't get enough water (although they never appeared under watered) and nutrients AND - I started my dahlias late here in upper NY state. I was reading elsewhere that making a flower is a real commitment for a plant - it takes energy. To flower majestically, the plant needs support.
    Warmest regards
    Jennie

    Hello there😀 I am new to flower gardening here in South Carolina US. In NY Long Island where I am from, the soil is rich and will grow anything but in SC it is not. It’s light brown, mostly clay where I live and very hot summers. I have some shade but a lot of sun! I think I should instead use containers. What would be the best flowers for me to grow in abundance? I love carnations very much but you say not too much heat😕
    Can you help me??☺️

      You can...only thing is, it might take some extra time to produce more buds again. As you have grown from the seeds, those would be Dwarf variety..Taller verities are usually grown from tubers. Thank you!

    Lovely flowers. Can you tell me the repoting of Adenium plants and its Poting mix? I am in Kerala. Is it indoor or out door Plant ?

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  3 роки тому

      @Lalsy K.K., Thank you very much :-) Adenium is outdoor plant and it would need minimum 6 hours of direct sunlight to bloom well. Potting Soil Mix - Sand + Gravel - 35%, Vermicompost - 30%, Normal Garden Soil - 35%. You can also use Wood Charcoal instead of sand + gravel. Basically, it needs soil that is similar to desert. Shouldn't hold the water for longer time. Thank you :-)

      Dahlias are grown in Winter. But there are way too many plants (40+) that can be grown in Summer and I already have 2 videos. Please check out - ua-cam.com/video/-lPwKN98lFo/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/dL4-hmBXpD8/v-deo.html Soon I would do one more video about the best plants that can be grown in Feb for better result, thank you!

      Thank you...but, I already have many videos where I have covered everything from seeds. For example, just few days back, posted about Candytuft - ua-cam.com/video/TkCPVOf3ugU/v-deo.html
      Would upload more and to grow anything from seeds, I follow the same methods!

    • @GardeningUpbeat

      @Monti Dutta, Bit tough during summer time...it would be better to save the Tubers for the next season :-) I would do a video for that. Thank you for watching the video Monti and Wishing Very Very Happy Magh Bihu to you and your family :-)

    After they bloom,should we cut their flowers? bcoz in my chrysanthemum there are so many ants on the flower and destroying them.

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  3 роки тому

      @Priyanshi Jaiswal, Yeah, we can deadhead them and it's a good practice. If there are ants on your plants, chances is there are pest like Aphids. Anyway, we can deadhead Chrysanthemum as well. Wishing Happy Pongal or Sankranti to you and your family :-)

    Wat about pest attack sir?
    Wat do you use

    • @GardeningUpbeat
      @GardeningUpbeat  3 роки тому

      @shravya shivananjappa, Mostly I use Neem Oil but if it doesn't work, I need to apply Chemical like - Rogor or Roket (1ml in 1 liter water is enough). I didn't get any pest issues on my plants though...thank you for watching the video and I would appreciate if you don't call me sir :-)
