This is what rehearsing the same 12 minutes of music for 6 months will do for you! (Also, it spoiled me for classical music in terms of how clean passages should be)
This is why I wear their merch. Listen to their shows as I write in my charts and counts for my show, learn their choreo for fun, train to be and act like them to perform better for my band. Why I also named my mellophone Babylon by my favorite show of theirs.
Oml that last vis hurt MY legs. Forced arches already hurt for me, so holy crap. For those who don’t know what a forced arch is, it’s basically a visual with both knees bent, but one foot is parallel (edit- Perpendicular I meant. It makes a T) to the ground. Forced arches are done (in my band) with legs just lined up with our shoulders. You keep your hips facing the sidelines, and most of the time in drum corps and marching band finalists they have a 45 - 50 degree angle with the upper body with forced arches. It’s a very difficult thing to do, but bands and corps do it so well that it looks like something everyone can do. Another visual that looks easy is used in a lot of marching shows. It looks so simple, but takes a lot of lower body strength. It’s just getting on one knee and back up smoothly. It’s very common, but very difficult.
Right after the end of the 2022 season. They had visual staff changes, most specifically, the Visual Caption Head from Crossmen 21-22 became the caption head at SCV for the 23 season. Obviously, they didn't field a show that year so nobody got to see the technique change until this season.

Look at style of uniforms even though they swap them each year the style is usually similar which is how I can just look at them and see what corp it is
I am SO glad to see SCV back! That being said, these have got to be some of the worst uniforms! SCV has always been so regal and their class uniform projects so much power! Bring it back!!!
But these are literally some of the best uniforms this season though?? I'd wager the top 3 are BD, Colts, then SCV. Bit of a weird video choice to say what's obviously a "wah i miss the 'old days'' type comment...

My gosh, to be that clean with that busy of a passage and while moving???? Incredible

Well happy to announce as of August 10th the BLUECOATS won ❤❤🥰 I’m so proud of them!
I was there and it was awesome!
So u like it

You go to a camp this fall, learn from them first hand
did you go to camp with them
So glad to have them back.
It was so cool to see them live here
I watched the show in person, and they were great!
Keep bringing the 🔥 🔥 SCV!!!!! ❤️ 💚
The Best
VANGUARD!!!
Men I wish to be there I got chills watching this 🎉😍😍😍😍😍😍
I haven't seen the full show, but if there's no set pieces in the entire show, I'm psyched.
They rehearsed at our school a couple times
For me, they even clean and progressive than the top 1 😊😊🎉❤
THE HALF TIMEEEE
I was waiting for the lights to actually go out lol
mellophones... insane show
CYMBALS ROCK
Beginning sounds like high brass feature from CC 2014 🤠
VANGGUAARRDDDDDDDDDD

Soooooooooo much percussion.
Awesome show… also honestly love no props. So unusual to see these days.
Yup, and the backpacks for the guard weapons was an awesome idea
Won’t that take away points?
The lights stayed on !!!
What did I miss ???
When did SCV change to straight leg technique?
Like this year

Reminds me of Harmonic Journey
The 2nd movement.
Wow. And I thought a 16 count back at carry was a hard set. I could never run and play.
Why’d they change their marching technique?

when i saw them i liked them more then bd🤣
Is the recording equipment bad, my high end headphones bad, or is the low brass remarkably lacking in this? Very honest question.
Most recording equipment sucks at picking up darker instruments, especially lower frequencies
I know 3 of those people because they are from Timber Creek Ft. Worth, Texas
Look at all that Red and.... Blue?
The only group that can say that they turned out the lights is Bluecoats because the lights died in Whitewater right after their show 😂
I wish I could identify a drum corps these days. Would have no idea this was SCV without a title. I miss traditional uniforms.
Ditto

I am delirious about the fact that there are cymbals back marching on the field. Right where they belong.
💯 % facts
this is a crown 2013 level show chunk
Nah
@@nickniehaus1763 i mean obv crown that year was spotless but hard music on the move with hard drill with no props kinda seems like e=mc²
Not really.
@@organboi trust me ill never love any show more than crown 13 but the drill and the music of this specific part just reminds me of e=mc²

Turns out the lights? Huh? And those are one of the most ugly uniforms ever. They look like Teletubbies.
Make Uniforms Great again ☹️

Yeah fr, my favorite scv uniform has to be the ones they used in their 2016 season.

They're awful. BD, Phantom and Boston all had terrific tasteful uniforms this year.
Wait what? Vanguard in blue? And no Aussie or even any other kind of helmet? 😢 I feel old.
You must have missed the last 5yrs
This is the eighth year without an aussie.
Ok but how long have they not been red or green or white? And yes, I've missed most of the last 20 years of DCI tbh!
@@diapente 2016 was the last year with Aussies and OG uniforms and 2017 was the last year with red and white combo.
