Not to mention you have to consider most of the people used in this game had little to no acting chops. There were only a few of people in this game that were actors, example being Omar Epps, but even then voice acting is a much different animal than actual acting. Voice acting pay is balanced by experience and acting chops, also amount of their voice used in the game matters. The major characters in the story probably got the most money. They could def redo this game if they wanted to cuz even still, most of the people used still don't have acting chops in the current day. Just because you are who you are, don't matter. Pay is not based on that. It could easily be done. The reason why this game exists with all the star power, MARKETING. This is such an easy gig to market yourself, by being in a video game, playing yourself. The game didn't need to pay them a ton of money because of that simple fact. I guarantee you a lot of these guys made a KILLING by giving EA the permission to use their likeness. I wouldn't even be surprised if a lot of them did the gig for free. A lot of the characters are gamers themselves as well.
the wall splats are busted as all hell, but other than that the gameplay is great. They might have to tweak the getup cheese as well. I'd easily take a copy/pasted game with improved visuals IN A HEARTBEAT. This is one of the best fighting games ever made.

As a kid growing up in New York who loved rap/hip hop, wrestling and video games, this game blew my fucking mind. I have to create a character and run through story mode at least once a year for nostalgia sake. Love to see one of my all time favorite games and just an all around classic still getting love. #FGCforPREZ

It has FINALLY happened. Everyone in the chat is enjoying Def Jam FFNY because of nostalgia, and that's fine. But I am an OG of this Def Jam Competitive scene since 2018, and the time has finally come where we see the masters of the game get dethroned by the student. DaHatMan (dripsugeki) has been in this scene since the beginning and has always had the potential to beat these two (Joey and Gate). Online matches are nothing compared to actually playing IN PERSON with zero delay, and Hatman always said that one day he's going to get on this stage and get it done, and he indeed did it. It's just a great moment to watch and enjoy as an OG of the community. I know Joey and Gate are happy (deep down inside) to finally be beaten on stage because this is what THIS SHIT is about. If the same two people keep winning EVERY year, is the community getting better at all? Hat came last year and lost (he was messing around, to be honest). He came back this year and LOCKED the fuck in and got the job done. I believed he could do it. Shoutout to Joey, GateKeeper, and Dripsugeki for keeping this scene alive, though. I am so fucking proud.

I love this game. I emulated it on PC a couple years ago and it was sick as hell. Had no idea there was a real scene for it. Might try to get into it because it's mad fun. Got a PS2 but never got the game, wasn't really the right age when it was out.

Sf6 is the best sf ever made because it dominates all those based on all the previous SF games. Def Jam in 2023 is having a tournament on youtube. That clearly shows how big the game is.
