I just ordered one, the petrol/hybrid model, in black, from my local Perth dealership. Not exactly cheap for a Chinese vehicle, but not particularly expensive either. Two months till delivery. Can't wait.
I get why they don't give serious 'hiking boots' on it out of the factory. Those who want great off road will have their own preferences on what tyres they want. And out of the factory they can keep the pricing down. To me this is another Haval that is a win. They remind me of Hyundai and Kia right before they became expensive.
The GWM Tank 300 Border edition is so much tougher than this regular model , it is a reliable and a good looking off-roader , hope GWM Australia can import 😄

He didn't even touch the surface, it has so many features and off road aids you never saw in this review. It is a truly impressive off the shelf 4WD, wants for very little straight from production line. Someone really thought this thing through and produced a 4WD from the factory floor. GWM going ahead in leaps & bounds, just lovin' the progress.

Next month buying one just like this one!! I live in KSA and they are very affordably to buy compare to Jeep Wrangler base model. (Tank 300 cost 132k SAR with VAT - Jeep Wrangler 248k SAR with VAT) so you be the judge.
I had 2019 Wrangler Rubicon and it was the biggest pos I've ever owned, constantly in with warranty problems, terrible ion fuel, drove like a wheel barrow and left me stranded on the side of the road. I don't know why this soy boy city slicker keeps comparing this tank to a jeep but they make junk American cars.
@@Wilt8v92 There is no Diesel TANK300 in China, only the 2.5LT (in three trims) and the PHEV... they are about to launch a limited edition 3.0LT V6 with the same Petrol engine as the TANK500 - the demand from the INTL markets will need to be enough to get them to build those - think they are now selling in Russia, Australia/NZL, SA, Middle East... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
@@feanntorr3235 I've not hit any serious (Rock Crawling etc) but I know people here who have, they tend to throw on lifts (tonnes of aftermarket here), but I have done some nasty clay trails with some minor rocky parts on the way to camp, it's been a star so far.

I couldn't care less whether the brand advertises with us or not - that's the sales department's job. My job is to be impartial. Its selling like hot cakes here in China for the past 3 years, there are a lot of solid offroad aftermarket suppliers here such as Yunling & Top Fire who makes tank 300 modify kits, they also cooperated with GWM to produce special offroad editions straight out of the factory.
Does it have DAB radio and auto high beams bc most Chinese brands like Haval hate these features never included which i find bizarre and unacceptable in 2023. Otherwise there is one at Westfield on display looks so good very solid offering.
1st, you can not compare a Solid Front Axle vehicle like the Wrangler with ANY other Independent Front Axle vehicle when it comes to pure undiluted 4x4 capabilities. Jeep vs LC 70 series vs Suzuki Jimny, Ineos Grenadier etc.
As someone who has owned Suzuki Sierra's and currently drives a mint cindition 1990 Pajero V6 Superwagon I can tell you this thing absolutely sings to me with its box shape etc. HOWEVER with two large dogs, boot space is just not there. IF IF IF this thing stands the test of time through 200k kms / 300k kms......I can see any lower KM versions becoming absiltue collector items in the future. Stretch it out to a 800l boot. Get rid of some tech . give it cloth seats and a vinyl floor like the FJ Cruiser etc keep it at sub $50k and ill buy as will thousands. Market is gagging for an old school boxy affordable larger SUV and we are ok with chinese and korean brands now. SOMEONE PLEASE ! I saw a video on youtube shorts where some muppet fliped an rolled his tank300 down a huge sand slope and the thing looked like new.
GWM is churning out another SUV, Haval H5, basically same engine but a 5.2 meter long body on frame architecture. Its way cheaper than Tank brand, but have huge modification potential.
I get a sense of bias by the ones accepting advertising $$$ from the big names in auto. If this was an established car co the review would be flooded with positive language.

Just a 4x4 monster truck for drag racing though it's not a Bronco it has fake headlamps, so get on a bus 🚌or trolleybus🚎 as cheap and safe public transport which saves you money from gas and repairs.

You make a number of good points. Imagine if all the tech was stripped back, the fancy seats replaced with basic ones? It would be super affordable.

Two issues I have with it. How easy will it be to get parts if it breaks down in the middle of nowhere. And can it really only carry 300kg payload??
