It's here in Australia, drove it on sat . Interior nice , no glovebox, electric mode great . Put your foot down , no way this had 610NM ? Maybe at peak revs? The 2 litre mtr struggled to get speed .
Wanted to get my wife into it from an ML -350 tuned to 710 NM. She laughed at me like I had erectile dysfunction 😂 .
So for $62 k AUD ,if you haven't been used to a Merc , it's for you .
Indicators annoying , performance struggled badly, were tall and you can't get out without hitting your calf's on the running boards . Boot , good for an esky , maybe a pram but that's it .
We opted to keep our 2014 ML-350 .
Tweed motors , Beau , great salesman , honest and would highly recommend 👌

But as much as I got to spend time with the Tank, I must say that its a solid 4x4 and has a great road presence and definitely turns heads. I got my annoying lane keep assist fixed with the latest software update from my dealership, so now there is no issue with it at all. But if you are someone who tows stuff, this wouldn’t be a viable option for you as the payload is low. I don’t tow, so it doesn’t bother me at all. Car drives perfectly!

Just like when the Japanese first started making cars and motorcycles, people in the West were mocking at their products, such example like leading British motorcycle magazine describing Japanese "crappy" motorbikes compared to British "iron".....the Chinese are aware that they are competing in the international markets with discerning customers who are used to more established vehicles brand. They have come a long way with such products made by Huawei, DJI drones and many more are making their mark in the international market place. Couple of things, the lane assist has been fixed with software update, the reason so much fruit is it as actually a WEY Tank 300, WEY being GWM Lexus equivalent, all the Havals have WEY versions but not sold in Australia (in Europe now) and finally!!! The Tank is based on the Haval H9, released in 2015, both petrol and diesel available (petrol only on Aus) then cam the ute then tank, but all from the H9!!!

Guys, the lane assist is apparently adjustable through driver selection modes ?
Unsure how, I haven't purchased one, other reviewers also bag the lane assist out but someone in the comments whom has purchased one advises just to go into the driver selection modes to alter it.
Also, yes you're right on translation issue, "Pothole" mode is the "Off Road" mode.
It changes traction control from on road to off road, activates cross beam axle braking far quicker once wheel slip detected.
Yes, it has 2 diff locks, but pothole mode makes this vehicle clamber really well without selecting diff locks.
It has turn assist as well as speed variable crawl control, both available in 300 series Toyota at twice the price (haha) as well as speed adjustable hill descent control.
This vehicle will blitz the 4WD wagon market, GWM really attacking market share with their product range.
Bring on the Tank 500 also.

You went straight to the Landcruiser/Patrol as competitors to the Tank 300, but I'd argue the Pajero Sport and co are closer rivals, and yeah the Tank offers insane value for money, but not the capacity of the Pajero Sport or Isuzu etc. If you want to travel Australia towing a van, the value proposition doesn't matter if it's illegal to use for the intended purpose.

@@zimuli3549the Jimny is around $40,000 AUD here in Australia so only $10k less. My mate just bought one but it's so small. I'd consider the tank more if they made a manual, but like many cars, it's auto only.

Notice: the transfer case got overheated under some heavy duty circumstances. We did some desert overlanding in the biggest desert of China, Taklimakan Desert. The tank 300's transfer case overheated at the second day of our journey. We cannot got it fixed by cooling down the transfer case. The engine still got limited power due to its sophisticated electronic system. We had to call for help by using our satllite phone. The owner did paid a load of money. And tha transfer case got overheated is not a single case. It does happen a lot in the deserts. I am not sure if they have that problem fixed yet. Just a reminder of those who have bought or are going to buy a Tank 300. Other than that, it is so far so good.

There are many tank300/500 on the Qinghai Tibet Highway in China now, where the altitude is very high and oxygen is scarce. Valuably, this car has withstood harsh environments.

The big question is why does it only have a payload of 400kgs ? What's wrong with the suspension and perhaps the chasis which limits this vehicle so badly ? The stated towing capacity of 2500kg is a complete joke.

Not sure why so many people worry about how well the lane assist works or doesn't work. It is one of the most useless and dangerous things fitted to modern day cars. Luckily none of my cars have it. Try using it on small country lanes where you have to cross the centre line sometimes because of tight corners and narrow roads, you will soon find yourself crashed in the edge. People rely to much on tech these days. Concentrate on driving then you will not need all these aids. If I had that in my car it would be turned off all the time!
But the Tank does look like a decent car and will appeal to many people. Doubt we will get them here though. I have a new LC Prado, so not in the market for a new car, but if I were, this would certainly be a consideration!

You forgot to mention that prices are on the way up, and to a point where they will no longer have that price point advantage over legacy brands.
You also omitted to disclose that customers who ordered the hybrid variant in December of 2022 are still waiting for their vehicles to be delivered.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm actually a big fan of this offering. I'm a member of all of the Facebook groups and have stated multiple times that they could have my $62,000 if they could just sell me the car that I want to buy. But it seriously looks like they made an offer to good to be true in their pricing hence the increases coming end of October then we will see the hybrids begin to arrive when they're getting a price for them they want rather than the one on offer at the moment.

Unsure, guessing so as if they don't they'll be behind the smaller market guys.
There's a company called "Savage" whom do one, also suspension as they have taken on GWM alterations possibly due to mainstream players ARB, TJM, Opposite Lock dragging the chain.
Another company "Dash Off-Road" is developing bull bar, suspension lift, and currently an approved GVM Upgrade to resolve the one issue putting potential buyers off placing that order.
      Hope this helps.
      Look these two suppliers up.
      SAVAGE.
      DASH OFFROAD.
