    That actually makes a lot of sense. When it gets hot in Canada we wear shorts whenever possible because it doesn't stay hot for long. Also, I couldn't stop staring at that piece of hair 😂

      Nooo sorry for the distracting piece of hair! 😂

    The way you say "sandals" is so lovely. This makes a lot of sense. I live in the Southern US and our weather varies from moment to moment. This past year we had Spring weather beginning in February. It's now August and boiling hot. There are only so many things you can take off in public before it becomes indecent! If we started wearing summer clothes in February, we'd all be nude by July! ^_^

    I have been watching so many of your videos lately because in 28 days I will be in Italy. They are always so helpful and give such great insight to people like me, who have no clue what they are doing.
    You are the reason I am going to survive my visit. Thank you!

      Wow, thank you so much for these kind words!
      You will definitely not only survive but enjoy your visit a lot!
      Even if you don't follow my tips and wear socks and sandals, you'll just get a few more stares haha

    As an English person, I'm finding your videos very useful and learning a lot about Italian culture. I'm going to Italy for the first time in October and looking forward to it. I shall stick to Autumn colours and layering when I arrive, no sandals for me. :-) Keep up the great work, your videos are awesome!

    Going to Italy during march break with school, pretty sure everyone's gonna be wearing shorts since we'll switch from Canada's -20's and 50 centimeters of snow to Italy's 20 😂

    I'm from Texas and the spring and fall weather can vary drastically during the same day, including some very high or low temps. Most tend to dress for the season AND the weather. Meaning, if it's a hot day in October, you'll see everything from jeans and booties, sandals, shorts, and sleeveless dresses. Most will be fashionably layered and in seasonal colors. We stop wearing the summery tropical colors and opt for richer hues. I'll be traveling with friends in Sicily for a few weeks in October and while we'll probably look like tourists, we will all be fashionably dressed for the weather AND season. I just don't want to dress in clothes and shoes that are too warm for the weather when we could be cute AND comfortable instead. I love your very informative and fun videos. 💖

    Very very similar weather here , except not everyone follows a way of wearing clothes and some have already started wearing shorts and thin strapped tops.

    Wow, great video! Brava!
    I am reading that many people are going to visit Italy during every seasons of the year. Don't forget this: Rome isn't Italy and every Italian area is very different from region to region, especially if you are travelling toward north o toward south. In Rome, to do a simple example, Winter and Autumn could be colder than in Palermo, but there are many towns of North, like mine one, where the Winter temperature is often 16 - 19 Celsius degrees under zero, while it rise to 45 - 50 degrees in Summer. Use your common sense to get every information about the weather of your destination zone and don't trust the stereotypes about Italy.

    In Canada, the second the snow melts we put our shorts and sandals on and don't take them off until it snows again. Which is about 3 months lol.

    I live in the Dallas Texas, U.S. area and we have hot summers too. We have already had temperatures in the 80's fahrenheit for a couple of weeks. This week it will be in the high 80's, reaching 90, all week. Midsummer, the temperatures will not drop below 80 at night and it will stay hot until October. I have friends that wear FLIP FLOPS (gasp) all year, except if it snows, which is rare. Many/most women wear flip flops starting in spring, through summer. I wear sandals starting now, until October or even November. Very interesting differences.

    • @gaia2965
      @gaia2965 6 років тому +1

      Italy has very hot summers, but also very cold winters. In the summer, you want to take off your skin because of the heat, but in winter in some parts of the peninsula, the snow is so much that you can not leave your house. Acclimatization is necessary in most of the country, it's necessary to survive.

    I'd heard about this for years and was surprised to see it being true. I'll never forget seeing little old ladies in Milano dressed in long fur coats riding bikes on a nice warm day...that fell unusually in the middle of the winter.
    and haha I've seen this first hand what you mentioned about the British, doesn't matter where they are, if it's slightly warm... time for shorts, t-shirt and and lots of skin showing.
    oh goodness, forget sudden rainstorms, today where I live we had a full on hail storm!
    I've also heard people explain one reason for doing wearing clothes for cooler weather later in the season is because of not wanting to get sick.
    fun video, looking forward to the next ^_^

    • @RomeInside
      @RomeInside  6 років тому +1

      Haha yeah, that's very true!
      Also whenever I see British people (or anyone really) wearing t-shirts and sandals in April or May I can't help but thinking "Hold on! It's not summer yet!" haha
      And yes, getting sick is one of Italians' constant thought, as you may have noticed 😂
      Thanks Rafael! :D

    • @RafaelDiFuria
      @RafaelDiFuria 6 років тому

      Hey Elisa,
      Haha for me as soon as it's slightly warm in spring that's close enough to summer for me haha
      yes I did notice this concern.. the funny thing is that this part of the Italian mentality was very much alive and well in my home growing up... I didn't realise it untilI moving to Italy... I kind of always thought maybe my family went a little overboard, but now I see how normal it is here... and many people go even further than they did... but the older I get the more appreciation I have for the concern... I hate colds and flus haha
      I can very clearly remember my grandfather's concern about having wet hair and always making sure to keep his throat protected even if it was only slightly cool out, even beginning in early fall... and of course the concerns of getting sick because of malocchio... oh goodnesss, that almost seemed to be the number one killer of people, even worse than cancer.... he was always throwing up gang signs against it haha, and he wasn't the must superstitious person... but oh goodness when it came to malocchio, you better run for the hills and run for your life

      Last year, in July as I was flying home to England to visit my family it was 41° c in ciampino! I get back to England and in one day it was 21°c my body was not ready for such temperature shock having adjusted slowly to the gradual rise to the Italian heat. That being said it's a dry heat in Italy not humid and sticky.

    Well... who cares about not looking like a tourist right? I’ve done so much research on Italian fashion to try and blend in when I go there April next year... but I live in quite a cold place and 20 degrees is like short weather for me. Sorry but I will faint in the middle of the Roman streets if I can’t wear my shorts in that kind of weather!

      Hey!
      The first half of September still falls into "summer clothing items", so shorts and sandals are ok!
      Then you start to slowly transition to regular jeans and light sneakers, maybe a hoodie at night...
      But it also really depends on the temperatures! :)
      I'll try to make vlogs in September or related videos so you can have a better idea
