By financing independantist political group, tricking local population into believing breaking up would solve their problems and forcing gorbatchev to accept toxic traitor reform in exchange for money. Which is a trap he fell for Then in the 1990s and 2000s to solidify the breakup from moscow. They started reviving old almost extinct cultures from 100 200 years ago. Making laws banning russian language. And laws obligating use of the old language in schools governement media workplace Its like if Lousiana was forced to abandon english And speak french. Or hawaii abandoning english and speaking hawaian. Or california abandoning english and speaking spanish. Despite its a old almost extinct culture

Thank you for this video. We visited the Caucasus for our summer vacation in 2021 during the COVID time. It was a memorable trip. We was my sister in law Irina, my niece Marina, and my twins, Philip and Isabella, born in St Petersburg and me. We flew from St Petersburg to Mineralnye Vody and then started in Arkhyz. Then we went to Dombai and Pyatigorsk. For me the main focus of our time in Pyatigorsk was Mikhail Lermontov and his great masterpiece, A Hero of Our Time. So of course we took the lift up Mt Mashuk and visited the site of Lermontov’s duel, but best of all was the Lermontov house museum. Then we went to Elbrus and Ossetia and ended our 16 day vacation in Vladikavkaz. So watching your video was a pleasure remembering our great time and it has also made me hungry for Caucasus food. Merci pour vos reportages fort intéressants, ça me permet de connaître différentes régions de votre beau pays❤
Please visit and make a video about Stavropol, Krasndar and Goryachy Klyuch. We plan to leave Australia to live in Russia. Your channel has been great in educating us on the regions. Can't wait to settle in Russia!
I will be glad to see your first hand report regarding the safety of traveling to the Northern Caucasus region. And having just watched Benjamin's (Bald and Bankrupt) tour of the BAM railroad line, the 'other Siberian Train', it occurs to me that you two might attempt a joint tour project of some area in Russia.
It would be very interesting because they are such different channels. Ben is more about buying alcohol and filming people drunk.
Bald and Bankrupt, in pursuit of hype, seeks out the most unusual corners in Russia. As a rule, these are the places where there is rubbish, Soviet ruins and a lot of alcoholics. It is unlikely that he and Eli will work together. All the same, Eli tries to show real life in the Russian Federation.
@@vladimirnikolskiy The problem is since Putin came to power and didn't do the wests biding like Yeltsin and the oligarchs did, Russia has been struggling with development because the west imposed sanctions since day one. Many developments were made in all the major cities of Russia, its actually amazing the difference is night and day. But the fact that russia is 17million km2, its hard to develop every inch, so there will be places very old. But in time they will also develop and it would be amazing to see the results. This is actually a proof that the Russian gouvernement isn't corrupt, otherwise those changes wouldn't have been possible. These developments are way too massive to consider the gouvernement corrupt, it wouldn't make sense.
@@ivanlester1088 I agree.
@@ivanlester1088 Thanks for your observation.
Thank you for the video, and indeed lots of fruits on the trees. If i could have a long vacation of 2 months then i would do a trip to that region too. But we are lucky and happy to see your videos in the Netherlands.
Thank you for these wonderful vlogs. They are truly educational and beautifully balanced.
Eli, thank you for bringing us this presentation on the North Caucasus and Paytigorsk. The region looks like paradise on earth. I wished I could communicate with someone from there. Thank you for showing us the natural bath in Pyatigorsk. You are so beautiful. You look like a beautiful angel taking a bath. Thank you again.
Thanks for sharing this with us Eli, makes a good start for the weekend (don't go too wild ...lol).
Be careful and don't run into ghosts or goblins.

hahahaha.... It would be great to make a video trick or treating in Russia. Yet another incredible piece of content from Eli. video creation has actually come so naturally to her. She has actually acquired success extremely quick, I can't but not be a bit envious of her, though the top quality of her videos are far better than mine as well as better than the majority of youtuber's. I have been blogging regarding Russia for over 4 years and also the youtube algorithm has not been as kind to me as it has actually been to her. I can see that you are interested about Russia. Can I ask you, to critique my channel and tell me what is wrong and how I can get better?
Thank you for showing your country and your home, so lovely to watch (UK)
Magnificent place surrounded by huge mountains, sulphurous waters from which one can mirror this fantastic town. A great place, loving people and excellent food. Thaks a lit for sharing
Beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing with us. It's a part of the world that most of us will never have the opportunity for seeing it in person.
It is a beautiful city. I just watch Svetlana a couple of weeks ago do a video about Pyatigorsk. It great getting a your perspective of the city. Hope your trip is going well. Stay warm and be safe.
I will go and watch the video from Svetlana, thank you. I'm trying to improve. My channel regarding life in Russia is 4 over 4 years now likewise I have about 200 videos but I never ever obtain several views like Eli. Can you think back to why you at first decided to click that initial video? Have you always had an interest in Russia? Can you help me by watching my videos and tell me what is missing from my videos. I am keen to create better videos.
I love all your videos. I am learning about so much history. I live in Canada and have taken many geography and history courses and learn very little about northern European countries and people. They taught us how evil the Mongols were, how evil the USSR and Germany were. Very little about the actual people. I love the different cultures and now understand my European heritage.
Thank you so much. Sending love from a grandmother in Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️

These kinds of videos when you interview people are the best way to introduce others to their culture and geography.
I am so glad I found your channel. It is so amazing seeing people visit and give us a tour of the parts of Russia that most people will never see or have never heard of. Thank you for your hardwork and detail to the videos.
I love that your videos include locals and give their perspective. Something that is missing in a lot of travel vlog change.

Thank you Eli. This was such a beautiful place. I love the old town feel to this city. I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of produce you were able to collect from your backyard. I had no idea.
I saw many fruits and shrubbery that I see here in my small town in the Midwest of America 🇺🇸. It caused me to wonder how these plants came to live in such various places around the world. Very interesting.
I also really appreciated how the people in this region respect and care for their elders. Much like the way I was raised as well.

My favorite place in Pyatigotsk is Gukasov coffee shop. So much history about this remarkable restaurant and its original ovner, Gukasov. It is basically a Holliwood script right there. Love, jalousy, mystique, revolution, adventutes, destiny, over historical events. Amazing story.

Hi Eli. You're very welcome. Eli, you have wonderful videos, thank you.
I spent summer 1987 there, at the sanatorium, drinking hot mineral water. I was 9 years old :) Still have GREAT memories of this place
1987 Estonia was a republic of the Soviet Union
Loool it was exactly like the usa. It was like texas california lousiana hawaii alaska in usa. They had regional autonomy similar to state politics in usa. But were far from being a independant country
The 1991 ussr break up was very unnatural. Its like if usa seperate into 50 different countries
The ussr breakup was engeneered and encouraged by usa for obvious reasons. By financing independantist political group, tricking local population into believing breaking up would solve their problems and forcing gorbatchev to accept toxic traitor reform in exchange for money. Which is a trap he fell for
Then in the 1990s and 2000s to solidify the breakup from moscow. They started reviving old almost extinct cultures from 100 200 years ago. Making laws banning russian language. And laws obligating use of the old language in schools governement media workplace
Its like if Lousiana was forced to abandon english
And speak french. Or hawaii abandoning english and speaking hawaian. Or california abandoning english and speaking spanish. Despite its a old almost extinct culture
Eli, thanks for sharing your videos. I've enjoyed seeing and learning about the different regions you've visited and presented.

I first visited the Caucasus area in 1977 on my first trip to Armenia. Since then I have been almost everywhere in the Caucasus including many trips to Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. So far I am missing Chechnya and Ingushetia, but hope to soon. I enjoyed your videos from Dagestan (which I also love), and Chechnya, but don’t think you’ve done videos on Ingushetia??
