Hello! Hello! you forgot to mention that inside the battery compartment, the lamp includes a little red rounded plastic, that avoids batteries to have contact with the switch piece and drain while in the package, but also you can use it as a red filter for night map reading, night navigation, etc. all you must do is to take off the crown cap, unscrew the lamp "head" and take off the magnifier lens, then place the red filter and put it all together again, voilá!, you have your night mode lamp! I have received this kit as a christmas gift and I love it! Cool review!
Before anyone comments to it, this is a reload video... original had an audio issue... not on my level... it was between editor and UA-cam system.... I have spent 3.5 hrs editing... another 2.5 uploading.. I’ve limited issue to last 30 seconds and rather focus on publishing the exciting follow up project using these tools... stay tuned!
Not the best tools but for 30 bucks i feel like nobody should complain. Thats a very cheap price to pay for a set of items that would make things alot easier than being empty handed in the woods. Well worth the money IMO being that its only 30 bucks. You get what you pay for. One good high quality knife or machete would probably cost more than that by itself.
This is a great piece a kit! Coming to you from Walmart it includes 12 pieces; a SAW-BACK MACHETE a FULL TANG KNIFE, HAND AXE & More.... Showing the uses and techniques utilized for SURVIVAL...Let See What $29.99 Gets Anybody Willing To Practice Self Reliance on The Budget SURVIVAL Gear SERIES!
I like your videos, obviously know that its the skills you learn and knowing your tools that make the difference. A expert with years of experince in outdoors craft can make a cheap 10 dollars knife look good and a person with no skills can make a 1000 dollar knofe look bad
Love this!.... I have many high end tools, that will be shown later in this experience using my videos... off camera lots of work, training, teaching, learning occurs... I always go back to Budget gear to reconnect to my roots... probably always will... mindset thing....Thks for comment... love requests!
I have to say as far as budget kits go this one isn’t to bad. It’s not the do all and end all of everything someone would need but it could be a start. It would be easy to piece this out and get better quality stuff, but you would probably end up way over the price point. So I think it’s my second favorite in the budget series now first was the Czech pack. Good video thanks.
Man that’s the second pack, the other is the tested model, it’s three months in the grinder,,, maybe a video of load out should be soon....Certainly a bomber piece
I just bought this yesterday. All the edges are pretty sharp as well. I know its not a big brand name maker, but primative men had worse stuff and did pretty well. Overall, a good set of gear for the price. Enjoyed the video! Well done!
Great review. I was tempted to get one. Then I saw Wal-Mart had a Morakniv for about $9, a good fiskers folding saw for about $10 and a good fiskars axe for about the same total price. I decided to go with the Mora & Fiskers. I may pick up that kit on clearance after Christmas for lighter gear.
I just payed a little extra and got myself the Camilus set from Walmart its a little better than the ozark trail set although the ozark trail set is good to but Camillus will always be my favorite budget tools right along with Gerber tools
I really don't understand why everyone talks about sharpness out of the box. If you can't sharpen a blade, you're screwed in a survival situation anyway as knives don't stay sharp for very long anyway. To me, I'd check every blade before I reviewed them and sharpen or strop them up if necessary. Better to check how long it'll hold and edge, because that's something you don't have control over.
I've seen a few reviews on these budget gear things and I'm no expert but our ancestors used stones and sticks and they did just fine. All these blades need a bit of sharpening and they would be perfect
Heck yea they did, but I ran them straight of the box, ol abe Lincoln had it right about 5 hrs of time 4 for sharpening haha, all in all it definitely beats stone blades all day long- My hope is that limits of income don’t slow people down, when it comes to adventure training , especially if a life May depend on a little knowledge vs more gear... thank you for your comment!
Considering that any one of those items alone could potentially save your life, depending on the situation you're in, $30 is pretty much a no brainer. Great review video! l just subscribed, and l'm looking forward to watching more.
I started a bushcraft camp with the kit... The video is on my channel... Gonna finish the East Wall today... I also prefer the hatchet over the machete... The thin sleek design let's the hatchet slice easier...
Nice channel! New sub here! Thanks for the review! I've seen this set everytime I go to Walmart, but it looked like it might not be worth the money. I'm now sold! Thanks 😊
freddie thomas is this worth it for $17? It’s on clearance here but I’m not sure. I could REally use another machete since my old one is kind of dinky, and I don’t own an axe so it’d be nice if I need to split logs or just do any woodcutting in general.
@@Sarah_Kinz I have not used mine yet but I like the fact that their full tang and work reasonably well in the video the hatchet is small don't know how well it would do for chopping wood but overall I like it
@@Eric-vt5wy I too bought mine on clearance for around $20... Started making a bushcraft camp using the kit... It's coming along pretty well so far... Video of the camp is on my channel...
Nice lil budget kit!!! Just a shame they count the sheath as items they could have throw some water purification tablets and some wet fire in there as I teams instead of counting the sheath just a nit pick
I am forever a student, if you can link me a video- I began with budget gear and continue to explore skill over price tags- thank you for the support!!
The machete could be a little sharper but the knife and hatchet were razor sharp. I was in the Marines and am an avid camper...so I'm no stranger to survivor gear! Not sure why yours were so dull.
Mystery Chinese usually... I forget by now, yet there is a survival knife video with much better quality items! Thank again! Make a recommendation for a video, night classes are over so come back tour is in order!
Doubt machete is full tang, it’s done well, mostly thorn removal lol, managed a bow drill set from it, so it’s definitely usable, hard use over time will wear it out for sure, but good starter piece, they are sold individually as well
Don’t know what kind a steel was used to make the machete, and knife I’m guessing it was some kind of stainless steel ,seems everyone is whining about how sharp they are , ha , change the bevel on a grinder and sharpen them up ! If you don’t like the serrated edge grind it out and sharpen it , this stuff was probably made in China , ya it looks kinda tactical with the paracord wrap but it’s it’s just a cheap set they are made light weight so be carried in a back pack , ya get what ya pay for !
I really use this machete a lot on the water, or in the rain. Recently saw a titanium version from cammilus, ( give and take w/ titanium) that said- yeah I agree you get what you pay for!!
I hate to throw shade but this really isn't a very good set of tools for any money. I've got one myself, and within a week the handle on the machete broke. Not a big deal, it's a full tang and can be wrapped or refitted with a new handle. The hatchet has no weight, also not exactly a problem, but the paracord handle makes it very uncomfortable to use. And I don't mean "waaa it hurts to use" I mean cuts and bruising in the hand while trying to clean up a small tree (1" diameter) for sawing. I don't know what happened to the knife lol I do really, really like the flashlight. D-clip/carabiners are always nice to get, and paracord is never not useful. Also love the firesteel. But with the blades being hardly functional - outside of the chop and saw power of the machete - I just don't see it as being worth it.
Thanks for watching and commenting no shade thrown none taken... would I recommend this- maybe for someone with absolutely no tools, me I’d get a 7.00 machete, 10.00 metal bottle and figure the rest out 🤣 thanks again man!
I hate the knife, let’s be honest, serrated Blades In general lack the small task ability, survival being the simplest and smoothest Solution To each problem....This Knife after Testing never makes the cut! With that said any blade is better than no blade! Great for beginners, to see the functional shortcomings and for the bulk price ( if you have kids or buddies) it’s worth the decided value only...jmho.... I agree!
You can't beat that set for the price honestly, as far as budget gear goes. Keep the vids coming brother!

Exactly, great for beginner, youths, and bs with buddies!
Alot of great stuff for the money!! Thanks much and blessings to you and your family 😇 🇺🇸

magnificent content Aim4 Survival. I shattered that thumbs up on your video. Always keep up the superb work.

Awesome. May have to pick one up
Cheaper right now.... some $10 kits for $5 some $20 kits for $10
Yes you do. Contrary to what my wife says, you can never have too many knives and flashlights!

The knife is decent. I keep one in my ruc sac.

How the fuck did you get an edge on that knife. I worked it on my Spyderco knife sharpener for two hours and it's as dull as when I started.

If you cut something bigger than a twig we could see how good it actually is a big thumbs down
