  • Okuma Carbon ITX Spinning Reel - Best Spinning Reel For $100?
    In today's video, we talk about the Okuma Carbon ITX Spinning Reel! Unboxing and one month of use all in one video! Is this the best spinning reel for $100? Only time will really tell, but so far I have been very impressed with this lightweight, strong, and fish-catching machine spinning reel. Spinning Reel Unboxings normally only give you strict information about the reel, but I have been testing this carbon reel for a month now. The Okuma ITX 3000 has been my favorite reel for inshore use, paired with the DTR custom rod. The ITX 3000 is great for artificial use and catching any fish inshore in Tampa Bay. The Okuma ITX 4000 is a whole other beast, you can literally catch any fish nearshore and inshore. The ITX 4000 could be the best spinning reel for saltwater. It is still lightweight enough to throw artificial, but it really shines throwing live bait on a medium-action rod! The Carbon ITX could be the Best Okuma Spinning Reel. They were supposed to release this reel last year, but covid slowed down the rollout for the reel. I have had an exclusive month before the ITX Carbon spinning reel was released to put it to the test. I have been pretty much nothing but impressed! Having a Lightweight Spinning Reel that can do it all is definitely a fisherman's dream, and the Okuma Carbon ITX meets those expectations!

    I've owned okuma reels for 20-30 yrs now and they have come along way with their reels, sweet reels.

    I have over a dozen of these from the 2500-4000 size. I’ve always been surprised at their inexpensive cost! The reel is as good as the stradic ci4 for a lot less!

    I agree, Okuma has been slaying for that price range, i def need to grab one and do a review.

      Hell yeah. I played around with some okuma reels the other day and loved them. They feel similar to Daiwa to me.

      That's what i was thinking. I used to swear by penn reels, but recently Iv'e been using the daiwa bg and tbh i like it better than the battle III. So im not as opposed to trying other brands as i used to be.

    Okuma is killing it for the price. Plus it’s built in Taiwan; they build great stuff!

      @@jayzhou104 just read they went to main land China when Rapala acquired them. Also you think it’s about quality? Nah I just try not to support commies my man. That’s why I only buy Japanese/ American / or Malaysian built reels.

    Hey Chris. Yes we know how you are, so understand bending and rubbing damage to the reel . It would have been worse if it was Josh's equipment..lol. I like the weight and drag on the reels.. I'll have to check out the 3000.. Thanks for sharing and giving us new products and info.. Keep up the good work.. Always your friend, fan, and subscriber..

    How this Okuma reel cast in regard to distance if you compared it to a Shimano Ultegra FC? Good distance like the Ultegra?

      I'd def beg to differ there. Okuma fishing has been impressing me for a bit now. Ever since I first bought a Cerros casting rod, very impressive vs others costing much more. I think right now a lot of companies stepped up, and honestly I see some of the big guns going the reverse a bit

    Any thoughts on it compared to the Helios?

    • @CaptChrisCanning
      @CaptChrisCanning  3 роки тому

      They’re very comparable. The thing is the ITX had a lot more drag. So if you’re freshwater then you might consider the Helios, but if you’re doing saltwater definitely go with the ITX.

      @@CaptChrisCanning Thanks for the info! I have been battling to choose between the Helios vs ITX. Could not find any information anywhere on the Internet for a comparison. Will be doing a bit of salt water fishing with it, so the ITX might be the better bet then.
