I swear he is also one of the smoothest trolls on youtube too. You know he let that oil run toward the edge and swooped in just before it dripped over, just to give us all anxiety. Love your work man!
Thank you so much 😊 I myself have been making modern furniture for many years, but every year more and more I wanted to know how furniture was made in the old days, and more and more passion for hand tools appeared. Thank you for your feedback and stay with me on the channel! :) Regards, Yuri. greetings from Odessa, Ukraine
@@gr_woodworking Hello Yuri, Thank you for your kind reply. I am very pleased to learn that you have been working with wood for many years. I was a cabinet maker and antique furniture restorer for nearly 40 years. The restoration work was 100% handwork, but even the furniture making was nearly all hand made. I wanted to make one or two suggestions about techniques, but only if you allow me. I really appreciated how you kept the woods their natural colour. That bog oak knob for the drawer was a very nice choice. The finished piece is very nicely balanced. A good job well done. Greetings from France and happy woodworking. Ralph.
Thank you very much, Ralph! Glad to meet you and would love to take any advice from you! In fact, in the former USSR, there is a very terrible carpentry school and I had to learn the craft from magazines and books from the USA, and now UA-cam helps! thanks again.
Thank you very much! :) I hope to please you with beautiful and high-quality furniture here! Glad to see you here, Debra :) Welcome to my channel. Greetings from Odessa, Ukraine🇺🇦
Every now and then UA-cam recommends a perfect channel to check out. I'm glad I clicked on your video. You, sir, are a true craftsman. There is no shortage of woodworkers here on UA-cam, however,, there are very few craftsmen/artists who can create work like you have here. I especially appreciate your use of traditional hand tools and the fact that you complete your entire project with them. The hand cut dovetails, tapered legs, live edge, and the three precisely carved dutchmen are only matched by the contrasting colors you chose. Well done. You have yourself a new fan and a new sub! I look forward to watching all of your videos and seeing your new ones, too. Best wishes from Texas... Troy
Exceptional work! Nice to see a wood worker make something beautiful on UA-cam without $100k worth of tools to do it... The art of woodworking at its best!!
I have been making tables for a long time now inspired by my grandfather who was a cabinet maker..... this video blew me away it is one of the very best I have ever seen on youtube and ive watched thousands.. this is how our grandfathers made furniture with skill and patients which has been lost in our instant I want it now world.. I feel ver inspired amazing work many thanks for sharing youre work is inspiring
Thank you very much for such a comment! I myself love this craft very much, although I avoided it at first in my youth, but after 20 years I fell in love with woodworking with all my heart! I'm glad you liked it, stay with me, I hope to please you with good videos! Thank you, Regards Yurii (George) Greetings from Odessa, Ukraine🇺🇦
Thankyou for taking the time and effort to share your skills, very inspiring. So few tools, evidence of what can be achieved when the skill out ways the use of machines.
I am young, only 21 that is, but my father was an engineer and always does work like this by hand, with similar tools to those used in the video. When we need a bookshelf, he makes it. A desk, he makes it. I used to be uninterested but now find this very interesting. Your work is beautiful and I want to have these skills one day. My father is also Ukrainian. Beautiful work and I hope to learn soon. Thank you for sharing your skills through this video. Slava Ukraini 🇺🇦💙💛
Just "WOW!" 😍 It's so satisfying watching you, building a table that will not fall apart in centuries 😊 My grandfather was a carpenter too and we still have a lot of the furniture he built, including a small table very similar to the one you did in this video 💖
Thank you so much 😊 Thank you for the kind words of support, it is very important for me now as a beginner UA-camr. Welcome to my channel. Best regards, George Romanov.
Thank you very much! I am very glad to welcome you to my channel. The next video will be released around October 15th. I'll tell you a secret, it will be an oak bed;) Greetings from Odessa, Ukraine 🇺🇦
I love the dish in the drawer front around the pull. Brilliant way to accomodate a delicate pull. I'll be using your idea in my designs. Thanks YOU ! !
Exceptional work. I love that you use hand tools, hopefully this encourages those who are new to woodworking. There are so few people to look up to so be proud that you are a role model even to the seasoned woodworker.
Thank you more! I am pursuing this goal in order to somehow preserve the love for this craft and show beginners that you don’t need a lot of expensive tools to make some object out of wood. I grew up in the USSR (now in Ukraine) and here this profession was synonymous with a loser - here all labor professions were so valued. but I didn’t like it, and it went on and on and I really want to restore justice and be proud of my profession! Thank you for your comment and words of support! Regards, Yurii.
I especially like the top, the rough edge and the fact that you’ve kept the bow ties visible (looks so damn cool). Not as big a fan of the base, but love how you made the legs and as always enjoy the craftsmanship. Keep it up!

You carry the Spirit of the Ancients in your soul my friend. This is how furniture should be made- by the loving hand.
