You are producing some of the best woodworking videos on UA-cam. I love the hand tools, the excellent photography and lighting as well as the calming music. It is a beautiful art. Thanks
Oh for heaven's sake... I NEVER thought of clamping my plane in my vise to plane the edges of small pieces. What a great idea! Thanks so much for illustrating what should have been obvious to me earlier. I'm going to use this right away, on my current project which has many fussy, small pieces.
Very nice! What most people dont seem to understand is that this is hand work. People make good looking wood pieces but with a shop full of electric tools. There is a world of difference when using hand tools as this man does. That is craftsmanship. I do the same and appreciate it brother.
It's a pity that you have so few views. Your work and what you get in return from UA-cam is incommensurable. Many authors simply do not deserve their audience because they have done almost nothing to earn their respect.
It seems like, you have a really good eye for details and camera angles. Your filming is really great and fills your videos with a lot of life. Much love, Amadeus
Great work, as usual by Yurii. I'm surprised that he cuts the dovetail tails & pins with the wood horizontal, not vertical. I have a MacBook, so I should have a go at making one of these. If mine was 1/2 as good, I'd be happy!!
Just ran across your channel, great work! Beautiful hand work. I am a lefty also. Where did you find that tape measure? I like the "English Woodworker" also.
As a beginner wood worker, I don’t understand how you get away with gluing the breadboard ends solid to the lid. Does the lid not need room to expand and contract for seasonal humidity changes? Love your channel....
Thank you! good question. I glued it this way because the lid is small and thin enough to have the strength to tear the seam, so I decided to glue it completely like this. In April it will be 1 year since I made this product and everything is fine with it, the lid shrank about 0.5 mm and the end strips stick out and the glue did not hold at the ends, so in the end everything went well as expected. But on large and thick countertops, you must definitely do it according to all the rules. Thank you, Regards Yurii.
Hermoso trabajo!!, Con paciencia y delicadeza para llegar a la perfección. Ojalá saber el nombre de sus herramientas, pero creo que son únicas. Saludos desde Santiago de Chile.
I've noticed that you still have some of your work in your possession, so this would mean that you're not tied down to doing only commissions. If you don't mind constructive criticism, I believe you'd benefit greatly if you get more symbolic with your work and add as much inlays as possible. Make use of brass, shell, epoxy and all the beautiful inlay materials. Be sure to add your maker's mark on all your projects. Money makes money my friend and if you have any, I believe the Mason's would be glad to have ya. 😉
Idk if you all have a lodge over there, so if not, nevermind the mason comment. Be safe my friend and keep up the beautiful work. I believe this passion of yours will help you achieve all your goals in life. God bless
Nicely made film, nice piece of furniture. However, there are technical shortcomings: the plane must not be placed with the iron pointing downwards, as the sharpness suffers as a result. Do not use a hammer for assembly, as this will cause pressure points. The floor must not be glued in and does not have to be. To set the right angle on the body, do not use a small angle, but measure the diagonals. Is much more accurate. The worst mistake, however, is to glue the entire length of the crests to the flap filling. The wood works about 10 times as hard across the grain, which can lead to cracks or loosening of the strips. The nails in the feet must be countersunk, as the heads can easily scratch the surface. Glued felt would be better.
Poor choice of materials. Wood is too good an insulator to use as a stand for something that gets as hot as a laptop. Don’t get me wrong, it makes for a pretty picture, especially when accompanied by beautiful background music. But as far as design goes, this is an objective fail. A perfect example of “form over function.”
I dare to disagree with you - I did this for my macbook on M1 and it doesn’t heat up at all, I worked all summer on this stand and the fan never turned on! I agree only for old macbooks on intel, it got very hot ...

Oh yeah! Thanks and glad you found it useful! This is often really convenient.
Yes indeed, same here. I would never have thought of that.
I dropped my phone when he first did that, thinking, "Could it really be that simple??"

using a shop full of machines takes great risk and mastery, I think your view is very wrong 😊
@BOHAN THE FLESH GOD Do not do fine and delicate workmanship when using the machine and taste the finger sausages 😂
Electric tools are sometimes more work than hand tools lol. Especially when you have to make jigs first
Non riuscirei ad arrivare alla metà della tua bravura neanche se potessi rinascere. Sei veramente un artista! Complimenti davvero.
The finished item is a thing of beauty and a pleasure to watch you build it. Something similar may now be my next project.
This is my new favorite channel. Your hands are touched by God. I love this project ❤!!!
Glad you liked it! Thank you so much🤗

That’s really beautiful and impressive. Did you perhaps make a plan you’d be willing to share?
This is a piece of art. Good job.
Much understanding lies behind what we see here. Practice too. Amazing.

I also like to cut dovetails with ryoba saw ))
Thank you! I have been using it only for the past few years, and now I am looking more closely at European saws, or is it just seasonal mood swings😁

Macbooks rarely get any heat to them.
