I've been listening to Brandi since 2010. Her music means so much to me, especially as a queer ex-Christian/recovering Baptist. I'm so excited for this new recording. I love all her music so much, but the most recent album didn't quite feel like Brandi to me. This, however, sounds very Brandi.
When she sings like she’s unrestricted and lets it all go - Like she’s live including this new CD is awesome. She’s very amazing and I’ll tell you why most artists I would say 98% or more of artists sound better on their original studio CD and then when they go on tour live & they suck. Very few artists sound better live like this and when she’s live, than the original studio recording that is very very very rare. I’ve been to many different concerts of all genres, and they sound nothing like their original CD, which I loved - but they suck in concert live. Brandi seems to be getting better & better at feeling more confident and leads to her letting go- and kicking ass in her live shows (or Live CD’s) Recording studios are just restricted period- they all are- there’s literally NO ROOM to let go- It’s not her fault it’s not anyone’s- they just restrict you. I can tell easily that she loves playing, live versus recording in the studio - Not everybody does most artists love the safety of the recording studio- And it shows in their poor live shows. PPL LOVING ARTISTS LIVE SHOWS IS WHERE ITS ALL AT- AND WHEN PPL PREFER ARTISTS LIVE OVER STUDIO RECORDINGS- IN MY 52 YEARS OF LISTENING TO EVERY MUSIC BAND - LIVE AND STUDIO- THEY HAVE REACHED A PENTACLE THAT MANY ARTISTS DON’T. Brandi is better Live-P!nk is better Live- Garth Brooks is Better Live-etc. IMO- when artists are better LIVE- that’s the Ultimate God Given GIFT.
I just learned of her this year and saw her in Mass. a few months back. I can't stop listening to her music. The Indigo Girls played then too. I saw them a dozen years ago. Besides both performers being out of this world, so was the audience. I met so many sweet and beautifully friendly folks there. Two gals next to me told me everything about Brandi as they were from Washington and had seen her just starting out at coffee houses. Another couple saw Brandi on a "Music Cruise" in 2015 and have been following her since. They drove 2 plus hours to this show from NYC. Go see her., brother,
