Yeah. I got tired of waiting for MagPul to update the CTR with a rotation-limited QD swivel. Drilled out the existing qd, tapped the hole, and installed my own with some epoxy to hold them in.
Yeah, I recently got a CTR for a steal after hearing so many people talk about how great they were. When it arrived, I was so disappointed to find that it didn't have rotation limited Q.D. cups... Oh, well. I got it for $30 shipped.
Your polymer compound is good stuff, I decided to remove the paint job from an MOE furniture kit, I removed the thin rubber butt pad and then I soaked the furniture in gasoline for 48 hrs, the paint came off and the polymer was A-OK.
SL-S is my favorite offering by Magpul. I've seen a lot of people say the storage is useless, but it's come in handy more than once. Between the the space in the K2 grip and the two compartments in the stock, I carry enough critical items on the rifle alone that I need in a pinch (allen keys, batteries, earplugs, firing pin, etc.). I can also get a 3D printed bag rider addon for the stock which I don't believe any of the newer models have. Magpul should take note of the amount of guys getting into longer range carbine shooting/SPRs and offer their own line of bag rider stock mods.
Its def good.. I have a couple of em.. I also have a couple of the bcm stocks.. They are almost the same as the sl & sls.. I was a CTR guy for years and years.. But now they have this new DT PR stock out, I think i'm gonna have to pick it up for my AR that has the good long range optic.. Might get one for both my 20" and 18" rifles..

@@mr.blackwolf3030 Just to help a bit on this topic, as a guy with both ACR and Templar Precision built toys. As far as price goes, you have to remember than Bushmaster, and then Remington, both messed with ACR, with their goals being making $$$$ as their bottom line. They were both massive industrial-scale gun producers, massive factories, with large numbers of personnel working on the projects of all kinds. Dana is one dude, and he IS Templar Precision. Take out his garage, and all of Templar Precision disappears. This also means that for every Templar Precision completely built-up rifle, or individual part, Dana has done the work, himself, to produce that product. He does all of this, while also having a full time job working for USPS. So, where the big companies achieve economical pricing through volume, Dana is building one part at a time, reconfiguring his growing automation to accomplish part from scratch for that "Custom" build. In short, I think about it this way...ACR was mass-production, with all its pros (cost) and cons (sometimes crappy quality control)...while Templar Precision is custom built...with all its pros (quality control, and constant improvement of the parts/product) and cons (cost...maybe, depending on your point of view and wallet). One fact in this life is universal...you usually get what you pay for. Templar Precision will cost you more than a Bushmaster/Remington built ACR...but Dana's builds are way better built.
I own multiple DTs, CTRs, and SLs. The ONLY one of the 3 that actually removes stock slop is the SL. The CTR and DT have proven to still have slight stock wobble and play on every buffer tube i have tried them on

DT-PR is the coolest one yet. If you guys can make an elevated cheek rise with T-handle pass-through, that would make it better than the really heavy B5 Precision stock.
So... why not just have mlok slots in each stock? Even the ones with QD cups? I don't know what else you'd put in there, but having them all uniform let's somebody come up with what might be a great idea down the road.
@@DS-nw4eq they are literally pumping out adjustable stocks like candy. They clearly have no problem with production or R&D. It’s not absurd to ask them to make a new fixed stock option. Quit being a loser.
Please make a shorter version of your cheek riser that is more friendly for aftermarket charging handles. I am looking for something more useful for higher height sights but the current riser seems to be meant for prone shooting through a scope and even hangs off of the front of a CTR. Simply reversing the current riser allows for charging the radian raptor handle in a few of the stock positions, but of course if you reverse the riser you have a bit hanging off of your stock toward your shoulder.
@@phantomlord3280 Duh, my point is that the new designs don't really seem to offer any advantage or benefit. It looks like they're just making more stocks to sell more stocks. Different, but not really any better.

I use a law folder which adds length, but depending on my shooting I like it in tight or far away because it’s so damn front heavy with my accessories. This is also largely dependent upon me in my kit or not. If I’m running plates vs a chest rig vs just a belt all of these change even more. Or how confined i am when I have my rifle. My home defense stock setup is much different than laying down shooting groups or steel at long range. I love the adjustability.
All the time. Fully collapsed to transport in a bag, position 5 when shooting with a dot, position 2 or 3 when shooting kneeling/prone with a magnifier. Sometimes depending on plate carrier or wearing bulky layers in winter I also click in my red dot position into position 4.
One thing. Your qd cups too high on your ctrs, and the sling loop hits the stock; it cant sit straight now. Is there any way you could lower that mounting point a half inch? Also, on your drpr, could you straighten the bottom angle so the rifle tracks straight back on a rear bag by chance?
