  • Hey guys! Another super simple way to program your robot to perform basic palletizing. This method relies on Registers and basic counting/math to track and offset your pick positions.

Thank you! It is very useful for palletizing too, if you have PE bags with rice and beans like me.

Your videos are fantastic. You make it very easy to understand and simplify programming it. I’d love to see a video series from you on how to integrate the robot electronics with a cnc controllers electronics though. Something that shows how when you fire an m code in the control the robot sees it and starts that section of code like your “place” program here.

It is nice seeing videos for FANUC functions that you could normally only read in a manual or learn by trial and error. Would it be possible to do a video on the Data Monitor tool? I've dabbled with it some and it is a pretty powerful troubleshooting tool.

Hello Adam, thanks for posting this video.
Can you cover more of indirect addressing? I've seen some it of on your other videos.

What method is more commonly used for palletizing?

Hi. I have programmed à similar function in karel.
More precise that your way. With 3 or 4 points ( like a classical frame) and 3 registers. ( collumn, line, piece desired )
If you want, i can you share it. With documents to know how to use this.

hi Adam, as usual, great video tutorial!
I have a question for you:
Since, in reality, the offsets between rows and columns are not always already known and simple to measure; I was thinking of a simple way to "calculate" the offsets, in a semi-automatic way, by teaching the first element and the last element of the matrix (i.e. a DIMA made of steel), then, by a simple algebric calculation, we could be able to obtain X-Offset and Y-Offset numerical values.
What do you think about it? and, above all, how would you do it?

If I wanted to add layers, what would you suggest adding?

my guess would be that you would need to offset the z value
