Thank you SOOOOO MUCH! your advice at the end of the clip, don't overtighten the bolts for the motor replacement, otherwise the motor will jam up and won't spin! earlier today i checked blower filter etc....then for no reason the blower stopped working!!! after an hour+ of more of going around in circles, checking fuses, disconnect battery thinking a reset might help, etc etc....nope! found your video and your advice saved the day!! loosened the screws, blower starts working again!! LEGEND!!
@@tobetb same here! I thought I messed up something really bad 😭
Adding another thank you for the overtightening tip... learned something new today, and installed a blower twice 😂
The tip not to tighten the blower too much just saved me! I've installed a new one but it wouldn't work. Loosened it a bit, works like a charm. Thank you!
have the same problem today, woks outside but when installed not... now I have to try this.....
Thank you for the tip helped a lot
+1 to this
This tip also saved my life 😂
This tip also saved me! :)
HUGE thanks for that advice at the end about not over tightening the bolts! This saved me!
dude, I've been faffing with my blower trying to get it to work for DAYS!, all i had to do was back the screws off a bit, typical!! thank you so much!!
Wow amazing, i removed the blower motor on my F20 and tightend the screws to hard afterwards to find out that it didnt turn anymore. You saved me some € man, big tanks!
Glad I found this, the blower motor on my F06 has died. Definitely an easy home job, cheers!
Thanks for the brilliant advice at end of video saved me loads! Don’t over tighten the the bolts!
Very good job professional, no like some other people they take out the whole vehicle apart you did it amazing awesome.
Good to know it's an easy DIY job, My last car was a volvo and you had to take apart half the dash and buy a special removal tool. Probably a £1k+ job with all the labour.
Thanks Doc!
Great video 👏 I have the blend door actuator to replace on a 1 series. Do you know if it’s easy to access at all? Thanks.
Thanks for the video Dr. Dean, looking slimmer 👍🏼
LOL Thanks slimmer dont make me feel good I been loosing a lot of weight man
Thank you!
Really enjoyed this video Dean 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
👌👌
Hi Doc, my 340i AC was working properly last night and I sat idle on my car for 30min or so before turn it off. Then after 3hrs came back and my AC doesn’t blow! I can feel cold coming out when moving the car but NO circulation at all. I checked my fuse box and non are blown. My doubt is if it’s the blower or just transistor (white electrical piece) and if it come separate to buy them BOTH?
For E71 (X6) 2008, is the procedure the same as this one?
@BMW Doctor
Is this the same for both left hand right drive vehicles? Mine is left
What do u think put after market one I bought one at from Amazon ? You moto HVAC
Is this the same procedure for an F30 ?, cheers for the video
Is there a way to access the Ds mixer flap without taking the dash out,. I think something may have fallen down the centre vent and is now intermittently blocking the flap from opening. Ranking the car and adjusting the fan speed manages to free it temporarily but keeps stopping the actuator from operating. My local mechanic says it's an 6hr job without parts,. Just wondering if there's a hack to get around this,. Was thinking of dropping an endoscope through the dash and then in through the foot well air vents,. Any other suggestions
is this the same replacement instructions on 2016 2 series F22?
Hi, I had the same issue and after changing the blowing motor and regulator it was working for 1 day and then stopped working again… Any idea why it stopped working? I’ve checked all the fuses and all looks good…
Thanks
I got one. So I get cold air out of the passenger side and hot air out of the driver and backseat side. Doesn’t matter if I put the right ac on 28 or 21. Only cold air. Could this be the issue?
I have a 2016 X4 (F26?). Is this the same procedure? Thanks.
Hi, my blower works fine but there’s hardly any pressure coming from the vents etc. I’ve replaced the pollen filters . It looks like someone been there before
Can you please tell me where the blower fan is located in the BMW X2 2020
Is this the same process for the f15 to change the resistor?
Thank you for your video. I have a 2016 BMW X5 and no air is coming out of the vents. All I hear is air behind the dash, what can it be?
My fan on my f30, has just suddenly stopped working. No warning noises just stopped out the blue. Is this likely to be the resistor or the fan?
Great video, I have an f30 which has stopped blowing all together on the drivers side but absolutely fine on the passengers.
I've checked for leaves but mine already has the mesh over.
Any thoughts on what this could be?
Thanks 😊
I’m having the same issue… any chance u figure it out… some says it is the Blower Regulator
@@khalidShahbic did you figure it out? got the same issue right now
Great video dean im looking to get an F30 Bmw so this helps🙏🏻, Quick question I own an E90 do those blower motors had a failure rate as well ?
Yes bro E90 was the (Worst) For this ! This is the same blower motor used on the E90 , E82 , E87 exact same location on the E series and the F20 , F30 and E90 This was a big problem, It even had a recall for the resistor on the blower catching fire. Make sure to get the latest version like I did, Most F series have the later resistor pack But on E90 even tho its the same I would strongly recommend replacing your fan from a f series one on the E90, For peace of mind.
@@BMWDoctor thank you brother for that input I’ll take that into consideration 🙏🏻
No problem my friend
I have an F13 (650i ). Do not see anything resembling a fan / motor after said panels (below glovebox) were removed. How do I access this fan motor?? TIA!!
That same on x3 2012?
This is another reminder to clean all of leaves out
LOL Exactly bro make sure you do I would hate to do that on the E63 AND E60 Its a nightmare of a job to take it out.
Anyway it doesn't sign of white smoke from ac vent?
Is left-hand drive vehicle the same?
what do u guys reckon this work would cost at mecanic
I literally just got done replacing blower motor and resistor on 2012 F10 535i 6 speed manual which is unicorn here in United States .. lol .. mesh fell apart and let crap in .. I cleaned it a while ago but it still was making slight noise so I replaced the whole thing . All good now .
Same thing on this one, the Mesh that “BMW” so called put because of this problem, wasn’t fitted correctly so I did even better then mesh for this common problem. I did something they should of done.
@@BMWDoctor yeah , I replaced bmw mesh with window screen mesh , much better and stronger .. your fan was so easy to do , on F10 it’s a bitch to do it , it’s located in engine compartment under the windshield cowl .. so it sucks even more leaves and dirt if mesh is broken .
Thats what I did bro lol Replaced with the same thing, And I know on the F10 that is a nightmare thats something I wouldn't want to do again believe me. Had to do it on mine
hi... my bmw series 2 car ac is working but air is coming only from bottom part , rest of the airvent is not blowing any air... what could be the problem? how much would it cost to repair?
Good video, Doc. I noticed today that myF30 blower doesn’t seem as strong as before. Not putting out as much air. No extra noise though. This video makes me wonder if I need to replace the resistor unit. Any thoughts?
That will be your resistor OR it can be the bearings are going on your fan, which will cause the fan to blow a lot slower.
@@BMWDoctor Thanks Doc. I’m looking into ordering both parts.
@@BMWDoctor ok Doc. I just ordered both parts to be sure. And thank you for a wonderful video.
If fan is faster when on recirculating it could be a clogged pollen filter.
@@AnonymousAndy2 is the pollen filter the same as cabin air filter?
N1💪
How can we know that blower is broken or acutally be the resistor?
I tried to clean it but when I replaced it wont turn on i have no air. I replaced also the cabin filter. I dont know what i did wrong. Both plus Where Done, if anyone have a clue thanks
Which one bmw its is?
Hello Doc, i have to replace mine as well, on an F30 though, but what i could find online is for left hand drive cars. Is that an issue, or the part wont fit, as i have to order it. Thank you for the video!!
Why cant i use new resistor in the new fan?!
What to do if one side blows cold and another side blows warm air ?
My F36 blower was making a right racket. Could hear a slight scraping at low speed and at full speed was absolutely dreadful, like it was about to blow up. Watched your video for removal and found the simplest cause. The BMW parts sticker had become loose and was stuck to the inside of the blower wall. So when the fan speeded up it caused the sticker to partially detach and cause the noise by affecting the airflow. Obviously at high speed it just went mega turbulent. Took out the sticker, quiet as a mouse!
Hey Dean, I thought you were releasing something new? What is it? 🤔👀
I have held it back for reasons, I ain’t finished it yet 👌 as the weather hasn’t been great here.
Never really see you comment, but your intrigued to know what is happening in my life, just like everyone. Only my members will be knowing so your gonna have to become a member to find out. But I will let everyone know when it’s released those close to me and my members know what’s going on already.
@@BMWDoctor lol mate I always comment on your videos and try to give positive energy back. And I'm not trying to find out what's going on in your life. You kept messaging and making posts saying next week you're releasing somthing massive that's gonna change the channel, make you different from everyone else.... and then you went silent. So I'm just asking when this special release date is? That's all.
@@user-ht3sw1lj9e nah nah I feel it, don’t take it personally bro trust. Mostly the news i will be releasing soon, But it’s mostly aimed at my members and s**t I mean people would have never expected what I got. Few of my close people know already what’s going on and I will reveal all. But it is gonna change this channel completely that ain’t no lie, But it’s also gonna be good for them people close with to me especially a lot of my members. But in the same sense a lot of people will hate on me, As I am the first in the Uk to have what I have here, so everyone is helping me out man as it’s a big change to the channel and for them. As I always said members will always get the luxury for me from day one, so they know everything what’s going down as there invited and will be able to come and go as they wish.
@@BMWDoctor good stuff👍 maybe make a new video explaining how to become a member and what it includes. I'm sure a lot of people will be intrigued to know!
Goodluck Dean I hope it comes soon mate! 💯
@@user-ht3sw1lj9e thanks geezer I appreciate it, yeah it’s not for everyone tho Mate. Trust me it’s big what I’m revealing it’s mostly the ones that will be local to me in London. But I can safely say a lot of people are gonna hate and be jealous as I won’t be allowing everyone into this, only who I choose and want. You know me bro I love having control of situations.
Wow, thats so simple to do on an F20
Of course bro 😂 try this on a E60 it’s a major headache.
I can’t remove the stupid clips and I don’t want to break them.
Hi BMW Doctor, though my car is not BMW but I guess you could gimme some advice.
My Mercedes is 21 years old now and still running well. However, the AC intermittently produce high-pitch noise while keeping constant or reduce speed. I tried replacing AC blower but the same situation. AC is cool enough and it's happening if hot blowing.
If switch off the AC or going to defrost mode or keep right-foot pedal accelerating, the noise is gone. Some told me it is refrigerant but I added it to 40 psi. Some told me it is due to cent vent actuator leaking. Here is the driving video and thanks. ua-cam.com/video/cAsos7qd_6E/v-deo.html
