Yes he and Vox are rivals. He can't stand how Vox is and Vox thinks he's out of date since more people watch tv than listen to the radio these days. I believe that Alastor does have a code of sorts. He is respectful of women due to the time in which he was born and possibly how his mother raised him. This will come in handy later in helping Charlie with her hotel if someone stupidly tries to physically hurt her. Also he knew that guy was no good when he was eyeing that meat cleaver earlier. From what I know Alastor was Vivsi’s oldest created character for the show. A few things I know is that he’s never not smiling because he believes to not smile is a sign of weakness, or perhaps it’s to show he’s in control of the moment. He has codes and morals, such as uplifting the weak. He’s also friends with Charly’s father, who enjoys the polka dance. I suppose the fear comes from the fact he’s in hell for a known reason. He was a mass murderer in life, so his charming personality is off putting. He’s flaunted his power to make a name for himself and is the only mortal to harness such power to contend with the eldest of demons.

Yes Alastair has a killing rules which is: He will not chase after anyone If the person happens to be a child or someone that can’t defend them self’s in the beginning he will help them, and if it is a child he will actually take care of them until they can go off on their own. I think Alastor sticks to certain morals when killing. Alastor's mother was (apparently) abused by his father and he cherished his mother so I think he would grow to hate abuse as a whole. The shouting probably sounded like someone from the fairer sex getting mistreated which made him act. (Other theories or facts in this video's comments probably make more sense than this does)

They even stated that for the "Day in the afterlife" dub, they wanted to make various moments more realistic, since there's less dialouge (such as the murmur of chatter, small tid-bids of unscripted diaolouge, bells rung on shops, the sound of flesh being ripped, even the static (and adding some static-filled laughter) from Vox's appearence) . There's even some music references in the background, from Al humming Moonlight Serenade, a song from 1939 (appropriate to his time), to the first notes of popular fanmade songs such as "Addict" (PARANOiD DJ's version) and "Alastor's Game" in the beginning.

Vox, Valentinno, and Vel. The Three Vs or Triple Vs. Vox and Val are boyfriends ( on/off) and Vel is like their daughter.
I'm not sure if that's really the case on the daughter thing since she's the same age as them and they are willing to be terrible to each other too.

I think it means they are terrible and psychotic individuals who don't spare each other from their cruel acts despite getting along. They are friends, but it is a very dysfunctional sort of friendship since these three probably aren't capable of truly healthy relationships.
Val is clearly shown to abuse Vox, for example. Such as breaking the dude's TV screen face for bringing him the wrong drink.
