Just want to clairify something because people misunderstood something I said.
I'm well aware Alastor isnt a "good" person. When I said he wasn't a "bad" guy I meant he wasn't pure evil. There's obviously more to his character than that. Sorry I worded it weird. My mind was racing after the events of this episode.
Wait until you see episode 6. Your mind will be racing even more 😂😂❤❤
I'm still on the fence about even that. I still love his character but ehhhh, idk 😂
@morgymorg And not only did he swear by the way,he swore at THE DEVIL himself!!!
A bad guy in terms of how he functions in the narrative, rather than in terms of whatever moral judgment you want to put on him?
Perhaps he is not pure evil, but I am afraid that for now, he doesn't care for Charlie's dream
I'm sure he is there because of lilith or her contractor
Lucifer managed to get on Alastor's bad side more than Vox.
For real Vox is like a tiny bug for Alastor
he's more powerful so al can't brute force something xd
@@Nelay_yeah!
And unlike vox al can’t do SHIT about Lucifer 💀
@ManaSenriKisser
Oh no, no he can! Especially with the later developments, but I won’t spoil it. It just would look bad in front of their company, especially the Princess of Hell.
love how the ‘hells greatest dad’ song is just lucifer and alastor having a custody battle
Honestly!!
BHAHAHAHAHAH
Frfr
That’s what I’ve been saying‼️
🤣🤣🤣
In the pilot, when Charlie said "maybe Dad was right", I always assumed he'd told her something like "you'll never succeed, don't even try". Something harsh. But after meeting Lucifer, I think it was much more like "please don't do this, it won't end well". Pleading to protect her from disappointment rather than being cruel from a lack of faith in her.
Yeah, seeing Lucifer now, that would be something he'd do. Charlie made him sound harsher in the pilot but it could've been something much more worried and caring like "Maybe you're not ready for this." And it got turned into something it wasn't in her mind.
Atp I would consider that line retconned (good because this direction for Luci is way more fun), or at the very least whatever he did say, Charlie internalized it as more personally critical than it was meant
The exact line from the pilot is "I think Dad was right about me.." Which suggests that Pilot Lucifer had more or less insulted Charlie when she told him about her plans, he definitely seemed like more of a darker character in the Pilot than he does here. I personally only takes bits and pieces from the Pilot as canon and that specific line is one I'm choosing to ignore, I just don't see THIS Lucifer being that way towards Charlie.
@@laidenmusic Maybe; or maybe he did just tell her that her plans won't work, and she took that as a personal attack instead.
@@laidenmusic Isn't it insinuated that Lilith kept him and Charlie separate? which if that's the case would it be that surprising if Lilith just told Charlie her dad thinks a certain way about her in order to manipulate her and try to spite Lucifer?
The “Take THAT depression!” and “That’s a mood, Gabriella” lines are pretty good parallels😂
i adore how the hell's greatest dad song is just "SHE'S MY DAUGHTER" "NUH UH" "FYM NUH UH??"
So real
Literally a custody battle 😂
TRUE THO-😂
Literally! 😂
I so very badly want someone to shitpost a version of this song with these as 'lyrics'
Lucifer being a depressed, anxiety ridden, chaos gremlin isn't the characterisation I was expecting back when the pilot was all we had to go off of for him, but I LOVE IT! I also love that he's the only one so far who has managed to make Alastor *genuinely* angry lol.
Lucifer is literally me I love him 😭 I almost started full on crying bc of how funny he was
He reminds me of Ben from that one episode of Parks and Rec😂
Lucifer: Could a depressed person make this! *holds rubber ducky* No.
@@pintsizedpicasso3402 1 minute later "Fuck you duck, my daughter wants to see me."
Lucifer was THE most beloved angel in all of heaven, he was gods favorite. Dude is literally supposed to be a naive, beautiful dreamer who's one major fault is his pride, the sense of perfection that nobody could ever live up to. The fact that he shows up and instantly makes you pity him, literally sympathy for the devil, is such a good character choice. He is a fallen angel, not evil incarnate.
and we see that element of pride kick in when Alastor goes out of his way to be a better dad than him, so it all worked out
"Alastor isn't a bad guy" getting crossed off in the episode where he literally makes husk tremble in fear is so funny 😭
It's important to keep in mind that Alistair was a serial killer in life, and one of the reasons why so many of the fans have this idea that he's not as bad as he seems is because just like Richard Ramirez, the Night Stalker, killers like Alastor are able to attract people who are pulled in by superficial charm.
@@SnowyWolborg It's more simple than that. He's entertaining and one of the protagonists. That's it. He's fun and one of the protagonists so people like him and are shocked when he suddenly starts to act like an evil monster. Even though it's been established from the start he IS evil and does what he does only because of his own interest.
Right. It's also wild how this goes over people's head since in the previous episode, when Angel talks about his deal with Valentino, Husk straight up says that he is in a similar situation with Alastor.
@@felipeveloso1578true but Husk is bitter about being in the service of Alastor and yes while they show Alastor threatening Husk after he mentions he's on a leash but overall Alastor is pretty affable to Husk compared to his downright disrespect towards Vox and Lucifer. With the latter two he doesn't hide his disdain while with Husk, he maintains his polite facade at least until he says something that would piss him off (being in servitude of another being).
@@dikastederook6380true but I think fans are mostly shocked by Alastor of all people losing his temper cause outside of the comic where he cusses at Vox, we've never seen Alastor lose his temper before. And the revelation that he's on a leash even though it's been established that he's an all powerful demon is pretty shocking to say the least.
I have a weird feeling Lilith is gonna be one of the big villains for a few reasons. I think she’s the reason Lucifer was separated from Charlie because when she takes baby Charlie away in the flashback, Lucifer looks genuinely heartbroken. Also, on her trading card from the pre order package, her picture is very dark and foreboding. She’s just sitting on a throne with an evil smile and blocked out eyes.
Me too i have a strange feeling about her too
Oompa Looma doobadeedo
I got a bad feeling 'bout her
The fact they want lady Gaga to voice her
I’m loving Lucifer’s “Hi gay, I’m Dad!” Energy

It's so rare to see Alastor actually get pissed off enough to swear. And the venom he puts behind it is even more hilarious.

For notice, Lucifer could easily sit his ass down yet alastor keeps treating him roughly 😂

@@rottengamer2595you could see how supremely unconcerned lucifer was while watching Alastor fight. So yeah he could probably easily beat him
Amir is a massive troll and I LOVE him for it! He responsed to a question of if Al swears in the show with "I can't really recall." Shortly after this ep dropped, he just Tweeted "Oh yes, now I remember!"
Respect. 🤣
the va's have stated they really feel like the characters suit them. in one interview amir makes some horrible remark to lute's va in a joking way with a smile and erika (charlies va)is just like holy shit you just alastored
It's not Lucifer "coming around," it's that he himself was scorned, failed and literally clinically depressed, and didn't want his child to go through the same... 😓AND because he wasn't even sure Charlie wanted to see him 😭😭😭
Exactly. Lucifer saw his daughter starting to pick up his old dreams, but he already knows from literally _billions_ of years of life experience that pursuing this goal is like talking to a brick wall because the heavens won't listen. However, if he actively told Charlie that her goal was stupid and not to try it, that would obviously make him look like the bad guy, so it seems like he just fell back and had to let her learn for herself. But from Charlie's POV, that made it look like they're not close and that he doesn't care.
It breaks my heart because Lucy didn't abandon Charlie because he didn't care. He just didn't believe in himself and thought that she was better off without him. He never called because he thought he was a burden, that's why he was so happy when SHE CALLED HIM.
IT'S SO SAD AND CUTE :(
Also lilith seems to have kept charlie away from luci
@@user-ed5ni9gh9nyeah but why
He does call though. not often, and to charlies view its alwasy when he needs something, but the "hey bitch" and his nervous energy makes me think hes calling genuinly to check on her but backsteps into needing another reason. But he does call, whereas charlie never calls him. AS the parent, its on him more but i feel like that is an important note in the idea that lillith probably soured charlies view of her dad more when hes a depressed father trying not to get his daughter hurt but doesnt know how.
The curse of Depression. I will stan and defend Lucifer till the end! He does care...he just struggles alone with his mental health.
I think a reason alastor does not swear is due to a rule for radio. If someone says something profane, indecent, or obscene they will be fined. And since alastor is the radio demon he takes those rules to heart. I bet you really need to piss him off for him to cross that line.
When you think about it, it makes sense for Lucifer to piss off Alastor. Alastor is all about watching people fail. Lucifer is too prideful to give up.
Lawful evil for sure; in his own way
@@blazingstorm9351 That's a good point. He would hate that there was someone he couldn't affect.
Also if they say something that is deemed too profane then they would have been kicked off the radio alongside the fine
@@blazingstorm9351 Yeah and also since Alastor knows he can't match Lucifer's strength he instead went after his relationship with Charlie to have some power at all over him, goes to show just how far Alastor will go to be in some for of control of every situation he's in
With that line “Take that depression” it got me thinking that the reason he wasn’t a great dad because I think it was said that depression can affect the parents parenting skills
I've had depression. It makes you obsess over small tasks (his ducks), turns your thoughts all negative, makes you think about suicide (his comments about the railing), puts your brain in a fog when you want to focus (why he forgets conversations he's had or seems to struggle to pay attention), and most of all....Depression can convince you that you're a burden to your friends and loved ones. That they don't want you around and would be happier if you died or didn't exist anymore in their life. I had my mom tell me over and over that I wasn't a burden, but in my mind I truly believed I was. A lot of depressed people will pull away from friends and loved ones. So I don't believe Lucy meant to be an absent father. I think he was convinced Charlie was happier away from him and didn't want him around. 🥺
@@neolithiumproduction Also, I genuinely think he has issues with time because of his depression. Like his not calling is probably a mix of him not wanting to talk/not wanting to "bother" loved ones and also not realizing how much time has passed since he called (especially because he is alone and so what would indicate how much time has passed?)
@@neolithiumproduction I’m sorry you had to go through with that and I hope you are feeling better
Awe, thanks. I luckily pulled out of it. Sometimes I have my blah days though. But because of that experience, I can really understand when others are going through it to. ☺@@area52ron
Husker is my favorite character so far. I can’t describe how upset I felt when I saw Alastor threaten him like that. He was shaking on the ground in absolute fear and it broke my heart. I feel like that moment really showed what Husk meant when he said he related to Angels situation :(
Same . I was like Husker is thinking about best interests. No need to diss him
I find strange they have a strong reaction to angels abuse but not husk. Both are being treated like objects

I just realised the symbolism of Lucifer being really into rubber ducks 😭 angels are usually associated with birds and Lucifer was considered a black sheep or a troublemaker amongst them he's literally an ugly duckling! It's quite sad even though he was gods favourite he was still cast out for his dreams and his creation
omg you are so smart (and so evil for sharing this 😭💔), i would have never made that connection!!
I’m completely normal about Lucifer’s religious trauma totally normal and not deranged
The moment Lucifer pulled out that violin is was immediately like "The Devil went down to Georgia-"
I love how Lucifer clearly loves Charlie but his depression has him feeling like SHE was the one who didnt want him around... family communicaions...seriously..
They literally made Lucifer (THE KING OF HELL) a cringy dad who’s very lonely and also starving for any interaction with his daughter which I absolutely love! I thought he was going to be the disappointed father type of character but I was gladly wrong and thankful for that! Also the fact he's having a dad off with Alastor is freakin hilarious! I love their rivalry.
Fuck yeah! I love this guy sm! Might be one of my favorite characters of the series already
I don't believe for a second that this is the first time Alastor and Lucy have met. Hearing Al use profanity is GOLD. That "fuck you" was actually well delivered honestly, especially when coming from a character like Alastor.
Part of me wonders if he only did it because Lucifer is his unquestionable superior. He's polite to those he can hurt as a show of power, but to Lucifer, that wouldn't seem powerful; it would seem obsequious. Dropping an F-bomb directly on Lucifer and walking away seems like a pretty undeniable show of power.
But it really seems like that can't be all of it. They've been dropping too many hint about Lilith.
alastor has an actually voice actor. that's just a voice changer.

I think hes doing it because Lucifer didnt respect him, actually. When Husk talks back, Al gets pissy. When Vox threatens him in Stayed Gone, Al pushes back nad threatens him harder. When Carmilla says nobody's really been wondering about where hes been for the past 7 years, he tenses up and scowls (smile-scowls ofc cuz hes always smiling, but his eyes tell us hes pissed). alastor is one of my favorite characters, but saying he isn't pure evil after that scene with husk is insane. and putting the blame on husk?? nope.

I LOVE the new personality that they give to Lucifer, like a Divroced Silly but tries to do a job as a father figure person more attached to the fact that he’s an angel that was spelled from heaven,
But stills very innocent
I always thought Lucifer was this heartless person who didn’t care about anyone let alone Charlie's dream, but after seeing the episode, he's just as goofy as Charlie. Also, Alastor immediately having beef with the literal KING OF HELL will never not be absolutely hysterical to me.

Alastor's "Haha, f*ck you." line is just as hilarious here as in the actual show. And honestly, I could see them having this same argument too. I love their rivalry.
Everything Lucifer says in this episode is completely reasonable and valid. It’s easy to see it from Charlie’s perspective and get upset but his is logical
OK, I have to ask who else thinks that Lucifer. Talking to a rubber duck, saying, "Take that depression." is one of the best lines of the entire show so far.
This may be just my unpopular opinion but I freakin love that Lucifer can roast Alastor. Like, name one other person who can legit go toe to toe with the Radio Demon? And the whole "Dad" battle was hilarious.
I have to add though that while Lucifer has been absent he genuinely loves and cares for Charlie. On the other hand Alastor has been there but he's only in it for himself (or whoever holds his leash).
The final song, "More Than Anything" had me in literal tears. I never knew I needed a father/daughter duet between Lucifer and Charlie this badly.
It's nice to see a more even playing field.
I honestly was glad we saw more of Alastor's true nature, and I feel in love with Lucifer's character. I feel people judged to quickly and he just proved them all wrong.
100% agree also (if it's similar to how lucifer is from real life religion) lucifer was one of the most powerful arch-angels in heaven so as much as I like Alastor I don't think he could beat luicfer, atleast not in fight of power
I am waiting for Velvette vs Alastor
Said if before and I'll say it here. Lucifer vs Alastor definitely has a dad vs step-dad vibe.
This was my exact thought. Especially considering both Al and Lilith have been gone for 7 years, and that Al is chained to someone… makes me wonder.
I'd say dad vs. Uncle vibe. The Uncle in this situation being the one that the daughter would consider their favorite.
interesting factoid - only modern depictions of the wendigo are skeletal deer monster things. in the original Algonquian folklore, they're just giants that grow bigger the more people they eat - which would explain why Alastair, a wendigo-inspired character, has a kaiju mode. "I will devour each and every one of you", indeed
Sane people be like: Alastor is a cannibalistic serial killer who kills and eats others for fun, he is a bad guy.
Insane people be like: No, he is a very nice guy who cares for other people.
He has that Richard Ramirez charm. Fools simple people into thinking there is something alluring and romantic about him...until you remember the person is a psychopath,
I think he does have some capacity to care about some people, like I think he does genuinely like Rosie and Niffty and Mimzy. But not to the extent that he would ever put them above his own interests. I don't think he was jealous of Lucifer, he was just wanting to maintain his control over Charlie and Lucifer had the potential to be a threat to that. And even him sending Mimzy away, it could come across as him caring about the hotel, but I'm guessing it's becuase whatever his deal is requires him to protect Charlie/the hotel. I adore Alastor but I also fully know he's only ever gonna be out for himself and his amusement 🤣
The fact that Alastor is like, "She calls me Daddy too." 🤣🤣🤣 THIS EPISODE HAD ME SCREAMING
when Alastor was singing “you could almost call me Dad” I was so afraid he was gonna say Daddy, I genuinely breathed a sigh of relief when he didn’t lmao😂

Lucifer and Charlie are more alike than we think. They want what’s best for each other, they love to sing spectacularly and they’re into women.

The way I guffawed! Such a perfect edit.
13:19 This convinces me fully Alastor has daddy issues. it's canon he's a mommas boy and it would explain why right from the start he isn't a fan of lucifer (assuming this is their first meeting)
Alastor's not a bad guy. Drowning in that Egyptian river.
You're the first reactor I've seen so far who didn't immediately LOVE Lucifer since he first got on screen, like within 20 seconds of him speaking he was my favorite character
I'm calling that scene with Husk my confirmation that Alastor is taking orders from Lilith.
Lucifer's not bored, he's depressed because his wife left him LOL. Charlie never asked Lucifer to help with the hotel because she wanted to do it on her own
He is depressed not only because his wife left him, but also because his dreams were shattered by heaven, he only gets to see the worst of humanity (making him regret his choice of granting them free will), and before this episode he probably also thought his daughter hated him.
I LOVE THE INTRO. I haven’t noticed it intill now GOOD JOBB 😭
8:38 Just realized Alastor is taking his daddy issues out on Lucifer
Alastor and Lucifer fighting for custody 😂
Nah fr 😂
I feel like this is the first time Alastor ever snapped at Husk (because Husk never had a problem standing up to him before and this really took him by surprise) so Husk struck a nerve + he was already riled up enough by Lucifer (Al immediately calmed down after letting off steam, and Husk even looked satisfied after he shooed Mimzy away)
Yeah I do definitely feel like this was the first time he lost his cool with him like that. Especially since Husk has outright insulted him before and Alastor just thought it was funny.
I love the fact that Lucifer completely throws Alatsor off his game. He just can't get a proper leg up on him.
Also, they mention it as a bit of a throwaway joke, but I have no doubt that the reason Lucifer is struggling as a dad is because he is depressed. Not as an excuse, bur rather THE reason he struggles so much.
Y’know, each time Alastor sings is a blast, but I can’t put aside that we heard him three times now, and each time he was parasiting someone else’s song… it says something about his tactics.
That, or it's like remixes since he's wouldn't really be able to make his own music as he's a radio, but he could take a song and remix it to what suits him
Why did lucifers singing voice when clashing with Alastor sound so much like Aladdin. 😧
The song gave real "friend like me" vibes even before Lucifer started the restaurant part which felt real on the nose about it. 😄
I know right?! For some reason I was also connecting the voice to how Aladdin sang in “one step ahead” 😀 I wouldn’t be surprised if they made them the same va tbh but i likely doubt it at the same time 😅
@@DetectiveCheese This, when that song started my first thought was "Is Lucifer basically the Genie?" xD
Speaking of voices ; when Husk asks to speak to Alastor, this one responds with "What is it" but if you listen closely, you'll notice that there's no radio filter when he says those words ; aka, this is the first time we hear Alastors real voice !!
@@HarleyCringe There are a bunch of times the filter is not on his voice. Currently there is no pattern I can find but it's been happening since episode 1.
When Lucifer was hugging Charlie, Alastor’s eye was twitching

He's like WHAT. THE FUCK!🤣😂😆
The scene with Husker and Alastor honestly broke me. To me personally, Alastor is genuinely evil. I dare say to me he's dangerously close to Val but that might be an overstatement. Don't get me wrong, his character is AMAZING, but it honestly breaks me how I saw people defending Alastor from that scene. Hell I saw people SEXUALIZING that scene, saying shit like "that's kinda hot" and "I wish that were me".
I also like the parallels between Alastor and Val. They both had Angel and husk chained from the neck, threatening them, and calling them their pet. No one could tell me that Husk deserved that because "he made the deal with alastor" or "he's the one who said it" bullshit. When angel stood up to Val y'all didn't say it was angels fault but when Alastor showed true colors people were okay with it 💀
Sorry for the rant, I'm just a professional Alastor hater because of what he's done to Husk + thousands of others (I respect people who do like him tho, as long as y'all aren't defending him for that)
I'm with you, and would even go a step further: Nothing he did in this episode was his true self, except him leashing and threatening Husker. It felt all far too staged, and I fear, he all set this up, to gain trust with Charlie, so at one day, he will be able to make a deal with her. And at this very moment, he has won everything, becaus then he has something against Lucifer and can make a grasp for the throne 😬
Nevertheless, I absolutely LOVE his character, and I wish, all my theories of him being pure evil are wrong. But I'm afraid, that this won't be the case 🙈
@@sebastianressel8007 definitely agree. He was definitely trying to gain Charlie's trust to be able to make a deal with her or something similar. Honestly I hope that he does turn into a kind of twist villain because while I love his character, he doesn't have any good intentions, I'd even say he doesn't want the hotel to succeed. He's like the exterminators, killing and torturing for their own entertainment and to send a message of power.
Everything happens for a reason
Yep, but the reason we still love him is because he does alot more likeable things on screen.

Jeremy Jordan is absolutely amazing!
I really love that this episode sets up more parallels with the Vs and Alastor in the form of Alastor being the Val to Husks angel dust.
I just realized that where Lucifer and Charlie fly in that 1 scene that they're inside the lamp that she talks about.
Allmost, it was a circustent,
Love how Alastor knows how to get under someone’s skin, so easily (Ex: Lying about his relationship with Charlie, p!ssing off Lucifer)
I was just as surprise as you are when Alistor drop that F bomb. He was always portrays as a Disney villain, so hearing him spit his first cuss word had me shocked a hit
My personal theory is that the demonic shadow version of Alistor is what he made a deal with, or is somehow the “leash” of the deal. He has power over shadows but can never escape his own, a constant reminder that there is something above him. Well that’s just my theory.
9:05 love the way she goes "awwww." When Alastor puts his hand on Charlie's shoulder lol.
So a couple things to unpack in this episode so I'll go in order
Lilith may not be the best mom ever: I say this because I kind of get the vibe that she tried to turn Charlie against lucifer after they split up. The main reason is that Charlie believes a lot of things regarding her dad that just aren't true. Like that Lucifer didn't want to see her when he was desperate to have that family connection. The line that sticks out the most is from the pilot "I think dad was right about me". The fact she doesn't specify what he was right about means she and Lilith have had this conversation before but Lucifer seems to be super supportive and proud as long as Charlie is safe. Pivoting to that is that i think the only reason that lucifer agreed to the extermination was so Charlie and the other hellborn demons would be spared.
Next is who owns alastor: the immediate go to is Lilith since she is technically a sinner and can make contracts while being the only person powerful enough to keep alastor in line. Blah blah blah 7 years missing. It would also shed light onto why he is helping, because he was ordered to. It would also explain why he is so petty to lucifer as it's a cheap way to exert some kind of control over his situation. I honestly do not believe that he views Charlie as a daughter and was just doing it to fuck with his boss's ex.
Overall loved the episode and it might be my favorite now.
Alastor is Asexual.

Alastor is probably under Lilith's control and I don't think he would be with Charlie, you know why 😶
@@goncaloandrade5866Ah i understood he Said " he was just Doing it to fuck his Boss's ex" thinking he meant Lilith but he actually said "Fuck WITH his boss's ex" , i do not Speak English very Well, I'm so Sorry
"Can I be honest???.....I love him" LMAO same
8:27 I love this bit! 😂 Quite a pleasure to be meeting you by the way
Best episode so far, imo. It had no business being that tense or going that hard.
I find it fascinating that Alastor already dislikes Lucifer before they even speak (you can see his eye twitching when Lucifer hugs Charlie). And how Al wips his hand back on his jacket after shaking hands (walking stick) with Lucifer. This is the first character that's caused Al's composure to crack in some way and to CURSE at him too?😵
I mean, there's the group agreement that he's in cahoots or made a deal with Lillith. And that he obviously enjoys power. But this seemed a way more personal than him being envious. Like...😏 A nerve was hit somewhere. Him singing a song full of step-dad energy was not on my BINGO card!
My jaw literally dropped when Alastor started battling Lucifer for Charlie😨 Alastor has always been one of my favs ever since the pilot dropped, but when he randomly started battling Lucifer for his daughter I got kinda pissed tbh😓- and scared, cuz oh god i actually thought Lucifer was gonna kill Alastor right then and there at times🧍♀️
actually I kinda think that Alastor did that to piss Lucifer off so he would help Charlie
Alastor dropping an F bomb felt like the first actual swear word in the show despite the characters swearing constantly
It’s rare to see Alastar hug somebody because he doesn’t really like being touched.
Lucifer truly loves his daughter 😢.
Alastors sass is what I love in this episode
"I'm grateful you're my daughter/father more than anything" 😢😢
It’s very obvious that Lucifer wants to be a good father to Charlie, which is why Lucifer got pissed off when Alastor said he was a father figure to Charlie.
Jeremy Jordan’s voice is so beautiful. I’m so happy to hear his voice again. His beautiful angelic voice. You can't have Jeremy Jordan on your show and NOT give him an emotional power ballad. Words cannot describe how much I screamed and fangirled when I heard he was going to be in this show. I loved him as Varian in Tangled.
Same 😄.
I think he was thinking about his own daughter when he recorded that song
😂when mimzy just randomly showed up, I only had one thought in my head.
"Big lipped alligator moment."
BRUH 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Damn I miss Lindsey!! 😂😭😭
Good way of putting it tbh, but I feel it’s very in line with Mindy’s style
My theory for the ducks is that he was fixated on the moment Charlie first laid eyes on one of his creations, the part where she sneaked in while he was working, and so he held on to that memory of her smile despite being estranged for a long time. There's also that line he sings, "I've missed that smile."
Lmao Alastor doesnt care about charlie's cause
Husk was terrified of Alastor like what else has Alastor done to him
I dunno hes never had a problem standing up to him before. Maybe he was violent to most sinners/hellborn but hasnt been to husk yet? Thats why husk was so surprised and afraid, it never happened to him before. Also im curious why alastor made a deal with him instead of killing him like the other overlords
@@fothorso based on the way he worded it is ep.4, I’m pretty sure he came to Alastor first instead of the other way around.
Sucks that Morgan wasn’t sympathetic to Husk in that scene
Alastor bullying Lilith’s ex is so funny. Didn’t know he cared that much.
Lucifer was the one bullying lol
I think he got Alastor got too worked up because Lucifer genuinely hit his ego lmao
Lucifer is like a culmination of everything alastor hates lol, he doesn’t respect him nor even know who he is (alastor got visibly agitated when carmine said she didn’t care where he was all this time) and Lucifer is one of the few people that he can’t just intimidate through brute force like he normally does, alastor basically has nothing over Lucifer other than having a better relationship with his daughter than he did (something that he no longer has after this episode)
@@bleh6809 I thought Alaster didn't like lucifer because he didn't support the Hotel and Charlie because at the end you could see Allister smiling and acting normal when Charlie and lucifer did their song together.
Maybe a hot take, but does anyone else wish it had just been Lucifer and Alastor singing? I was really bopping to their musical custody battle, when Mimzy suddenly materialized.
Your reaction to Mimzy was the same as mine. I literally yelled at my laptop "MIMZY??!!!" So glad the pouring rain drowned me out cause everyone else in the house was sleeping-
Just a screenshot of Charlie flying with Lucifer made me emotional, so I was a mess during that whole scene. XD
I love how charlie has like, every major demon in hell's phone number.
I know, can you just imagine Uncle Ozzy giving her dating advice or Beelzebub being the crazy fun Aunt?
Hmmm, I wonder how the Sins would interact with each other?

Of all the things we learned about Alastor this episode, what honestly struck me the hardest was the way he treated Husk.
Cause frankly... it's not all too different from the way Valentino abusing and mistreating Angel was portrayed last episode.
From the chain around the neck, treating Angel and Husk more like property than people and actively threatening them into submission when they say something Valentino/Alastor dislike, to the absolute terror in both Husk and Angel's eyes when faced with the monsters below the facade.
It's certainly no coincidence that these scenes were so similar to one another and happened in two consecutive episodes.
But then this episode also goes out of its way to show that Alastor seems to genuinely care about the hotel and helping Charlie. Especially him sending Mimzy away at the end.
Definitely makes me wonder how Alastor's story is gonna evolve, because the show seems to be partially priming us to view Alastor in a much less positive light, while simultaneously showing that he does care to some extent. Interestingly enough this episode does the same with Lilith. In the duet between Charlie and Lucifer, Lilith is portrayed as dark looming figure taking Charlie away from her father while the two were having a nice moment. However at the same time they constantly show pictures of the three as a happy family. Very interesting indeed.
And lastly: God damn, Alastor's demon form is beyond terrifying and I love it.
Alastor really can't be that much better than Valentino and I'm tired of pretending he is just to make other people feel good
I feel like he doesn’t actually care about the hotel. Nothing he did felt very genuine, and it all felt like he was just taking jabs at Lucifer. I think the reason he sent Mimzy away is because he’s under contract with Lilith to keep Charlie safe, or something like that. He has no choice but to do that. Maybe the reason he’s so interested in finding out that an angel was killed in episode 3 was because he wants to try and kill Lilith to get out of that contract. That’s just my theory though lol
@@dolphinbanana3053I think most people have a more visceral reaction to sexual abuse than other forms of abuse even though all forms of abuse are abhorrent. They let the emotions lead them to not be as sympathetic toward people suffering nonsexual abuse
@@vamarock7119 It's also more simple I think. Alastor is one of the protagonists and an entertaining one at that. So people like him. Val is a villain who is also entertaining but much less charismatic. He also abuses one of the main protagonists. Alastor mostly went after villainous or relatively unknown characters so a lot of fans care less about the victims. The Husk scene is the first time he's overtly cruel and evil against a character people like, it's the first time his evil goes against one of the good guys instead of randoms or bad guys. I'd also say Val is a realistic monster, abusers like him exist in real life so we can relate to him. Alastor is closer to a creature, a monster from dark fairy tales or lovecraftian stories that we know don't exist per se in real life so it's more difficult to relate to that fear because it's more on the realm of imagination, more primal.
All of that means a lot of people will see Alastor as a creepy and sketchy but otherwise still relatively "good" character and are shocked when they see him behaving like a truly evil monster. Even though it was made blatantly clear from the very start that's exactly what he is.
@@dikastederook6380 Couldn't have put it better myself.
nah bc lucifer and charlie singing "im grateful youre my father//im grateful youre my daughter" at the same time made me BAWL
Okay first off if you do happen to read this Morgan I love your reactions and this is no way directed at you but more so the fandom and society in general. I love watching your reactions along with Moscow and Elijah’s as soon as they drop or I have the time to watch them. ❤
Okay now to what I have to get off my chest cause I fell I have to before I have a panic attack over it. Know all the following comes from a sincere place and I am not trying to intentionally hurt or trigger anyone. Keep in mind these are my opinions and you are free to disagree and as long as it’s respectful I’ll do my best to reply.
I have a dead beat mom and an amazing dad so I sort of take it personally, but I understand I do have my own biases, but it is deeply upsetting to me that it’s always, and I mean nine out of ten times the dad is depicted as an “Dead Beat Dad” in media. Lucifer in my opinion is not a dead beat dad, he is a very broken soul and understandably so. Is there an argument that he could have been a better father to Charlie? Yes there is, but as far as we know at least he didn’t just straight up and leave like Lilith. Like did everyone miss the opening of episode one? Giving Lilith the benefit of the doubt seems to be common among the fandom when it hasn’t been proven either way if she is a good parent or not, but because of the way media has programmed us we just assume she must have a good reason for missing for seven years.
Men’s mental health is always looked at as a joke and honestly I find it disgusting. And Before someone in the comments comes after me for being biased cause of my gender I am Gender fluid and think no matter what you identify as you should get the help they need and not be judged for seeking help. I just want to point out in society there is a huge stigma about men or male identifying people receiving help. I understand there are a lot of shitty dads out there but there are just as many shitty mom’s out there that get a pass because of the stereotype media has created about the gender roles between mothers and fathers and how they are depicted.
I peronally love how Vivienne depicted Lucifer, he is not a dead beat dad, he is just a socially awkward soul in need of help.
Oh also on the mater of Alastor, he is a cannibal that literally threatened to kill Husk so yeah. He is now on my list of most hated characters along with Valentino, and Adam. I don’t care how funny or cool they make him out to be, Vaggie was right to not trust him. He is a con man and a killer. I know the show literally takes place in hell and none of the characters have clean hands but come on he is clearly a villain. And yes you can like villainous characters. Hell Disney basically queer coded all their villains for years. Hence why the LGBTQIA community gravitate to those characters for comfort, but it is 2024 let’s focus on the positive representation we get, we don’t have to just be the villains anymore. If Alastor is your comfort character that is fine, just please don’t glorify or dismiss his actions simply based on his sexuality or personality. I have met people from all identities and sexualities that were good and bad. Your identity does not excuse harmful behavior.
I have spent way too long making this comment and I hesitate to even post it knowing some of the replies I’ll receive but I think it’s important that people see another perspective they may have not have considered on the situation. I love the community that Vivienne and this show and Helluva Boss have created. Know this post is not made out of anger or spite to anyone in the community it’s more so to inform people that there own personal experience is not everyone’s and that should be taken into consideration before passing judgment. Don’t be like the Angel’s of the Hazbin Hotel Universe. Be kind and empathetic to others. You never know what real life demons people are dealing with. The world is tough enough and we need more love and empathy. ❤🏳️🌈
I love how Lucifer and Alastor had a battle of the internet daddies 😆
Alastor must have balls of steel to act as a father figure to Charlie IN FRONT OF LUCIFER!! XD
Also I wasn't surprised that Alastor would have beef with Lucifer because Alastor is a pretty prideful individual and Lucifer is literally the head of the Pride ring. Like, that moment where both of them were playing instruments aggressively at each other perfectly summarizes their interaction lol
I just rewatched and noticed when alastor tells mimsy to leave everyone else is standing out there with them eating popcorn saying this is getting good. lmoa.
I didn't expect to love Lucifer's voice so much! His voice can melt the coldest of hearts.
This is literally my actual father and my stepdad going at it irl lol
I love how much Lucifer is like Genie from Aladdin. I fell in love with Lucifer’s character the moment he made that duck😂 No wonder why Charlie is so cute and sweet she get is from her dad. I don’t think Lucifer is all to blame for being apart from Charlie I feel like Lilith had lots of to do with it
I'm continuously impressed with how relatable all of these characters have been. Not just in Hazbin, but in Helluva Boss too. Speaking of relatable, crossing off daddy issues twice... extremely relatable lol. But for real though, Lucifer was a fun character, and I love the implications that there's so much more to all this than Charlie thinks. At the start she said her father didn't really want to see her, but when we meet him it's clear that's not true, so I feel like maybe Lilith told Charlie that? I'm super curious to meet her and explore what's been going on. Also, I think something really horrifying about the Overlords Alastor defeated is that they aren't even dead, they're just trapped somewhere, possibly in agonizing pain for decades. But yeah anyway, Alastor scares me but I love him too
I feel like Daddy Issues should just be the free space for a Vivziepop bingo board
