just now I dream of peru without knowing what its like in peru so I search how to live in peru until I ended up here it's beautiful!!! i love this vlog
Wow you´re right Tah, we peruvians look so much like people from southeast asia, like Thailand or the Philippines. That´s something I never noticed before xD. I think the reason for that is because peruvians have a big percentage of amerindian ancestry. Even the average peruvian mestizo (mixed race between spanish and native) has at least 65% percent od indigenous dna. As far as I know, the ancestors of modern natives americans came from asia, so maybe that´s why both groups look so much alike.
not true at all..natives american dont look like asian south or east asian..is a false myth i.imgur.com/Ke6hTsk.jpg i.imgur.com/XjFUMMu.jpg check does pics and peruvian dont look like southasian ....peru is a multiculture country..and you will find many race mix..even afroblacks it depends in what area state i will say this tho..that only eskimal indians from alaska may look oriental.beacuase of how close east asia and alaka is. not amerindians from mexico to peru they are different peru did however had japonese and chinese migration in the past..for work labor on the farms and haciendas in the begin of 1900s
In addition to what Yuraq said, there is also a large Japanese population in Peru. Peru established relations with Japan around the 1900s and a lot of immigrants went there for various reasons. Mostly farmers looking for land. Eventually, business people followed. Even Peru had a controversial Japanese-Peruvian president (Fujimori). Other Japanese went to Brazil too. So you have a mix of indigenous Indians and immigrant Asians looking for opportunities.
@@xtremegold2950 I´m not so sure of that. You´re right about that we are a multicultural country, but that doesn´t mean that the genetic composition is equal for each group in Peru. According to many genetic studies, specifically one made by national geographic, the average inhabitants of Lima have 68% indigenous blood, however there are many other genetics studies done in Peru where the native componenet is as high as 80%. We have to take into consideration that Lima is the peruvian city which has received the most of the migrations waves from Europe during the times of the colony and the first decades of our republican history. This would imply that the indigenous indians are the group that has contributed the most to the peruvian genetic pool. So yeah, you´re right, culturally we have a lot influence from different parts of the world like Africa, Europe and East Asia, we have adopted many customs, but genetically the majority of us are still predominantly indigenous. Of course, "majority" doesn´t mean "everyone", not at all. I myself have seen many afroperuvians when I traveled to the distric of El Carmen (in Chincha, Ica) and many white people wherever I go in Miraflores district (in Lima). There´s even a little town in the jungled called Pozuso (in oxapampa, Cerro de Pasco), created by german inmigrants in 1859. Of course, as you mentioned before, we also received many waves of asian inmegrants, mainly chineses and japaneses, but the fact remains the same, we are mostly indigenous. Speaking of indigenous people, it seems like you think that every native group in the americas share the same physical characteristics among them, which is far from the truth, specially taking into consideration that many of these people lived in very different geographic conditions, developing different features to adapt to the environment. After all, is different living in the andes that living in the amazon rainforest or the desertic coastline. Taking this in consideration, it´s not strange that some native groups look more similar to their asian ancestors than others. After all, even Tah, a thai girl, recognized that *A LOT OF* peruvians (not *ALL* ) look like thai people, so there must be some truth on it. I do not intend to hurt any group or imply that one group is superior to other with this message, I just try to give more information about the complex situation of the genetics of peruvians, as well as the roots of our culture. We wouldn´t be peruvians without the great contribution of spanish conquistadors, italian inmigrants, african slaves and chinese workers to our gastronomy, religious practices, dances, customs or instruments.....We´re a mix of different races and we have to feel proud of it. *SOURCES* (some of them are in english and others in spanish): diariocorreo.pe/peru/limenos-son-68-indigenas-segun-national-geographic-744147/?ref=dcr / peru21.pe/lima/limenos-son-68-indigenas-revela-national-geographic-73148-noticia/?ref=p21r / www.sciencemag.org/news/2018/05/study-short-peruvians-reveals-new-gene-major-impact-height / www.nature.com/articles/jhg201373.pdf?origin=ppub / ua-cam.com/video/Bt1ygYfUpQ0/v-deo.html / ua-cam.com/video/dpE7-sQos9M/v-deo.html / ua-cam.com/video/s4GfOtXjC-o/v-deo.html / ua-cam.com/video/xZLmlLGUmec/v-deo.html /

also the reason you probably had people saying that you would get confused for a peruvian (you do look peruvian by the way, if i saw you on the street here i would assume you were peruvian maybe from the rainforest/jungle region of the country) is because of the high indigenous admixture in many peruvians and obviously the indigenous peoples thousands of years ago came from asia, so its common to see asian features as well as the immigration we had from china and japan in the 1800-1900's which contributed greatly to that. so basically a lot of peruvians have semi asian features from the indigenous and also more recent asian admixture but are on the darker/tanner skinned side due to geographic location obviously, thus many peruvians looking quite thai.
As soon as you brought it up, I noticed, you definitely could pass as Peruvian lol. Hey, not a bad thing, they'll think you're a local and get charged local prices haha.
