Your supposed to pop the top cap with a screw driver and the old grease will be forced to the top where you can wipe it away to remove it. If you were to keep pumping eventually the top cap would pop off from excess pressure.
@@SparkysGarage Good video, but these folks are right. Doesn't matter what you are greasing, but this especially goes for bearings, always run the grease gun until you see new, clean grease pushing through. Same thing goes for All of that old grease has broken down, and has contaminates in it.
You are going to shoot the caster cap off through the ceiling. I would remove the cap & clean that old nasty grease of the top also. Nice little shop though..

I’ve never removed the old grease from any of my machines other than washing them. Stranger approach, but to each there own!

That mower is only a few years old, so the grease isn't really old or nasty yet. The caps are fine....
How do you know how much grease to pump into the front casters? Or when it's too much?
I do 3-4 pump cycles usually
