Iv just learned so much from your video mate big time and got the confidence to do bigger engine jobs myself. One thing I've learned as a cable jointer in Yorkshire most power cuts are localised failures are caused by aluminium cable directly connected to copper cable with copper grease as it was done that way for a good few years, we use special grease now and believe it or not Mercedes actually sell there equivalent version £50 for a tiny put ffs they use it on injector body's il post you the Yorkshire electric version (ce electric) massive tubes i dont pay for.
You could try loosening the fuel lines at the injectors one at a time while cranking the engine until fuel squirts out of them. It will save the starter instead of cranking and cranking until all that air in the lines is compressed enough to open the injectors. Usually after bleeding about the first 3 or 4 injectors it will start up. About 1% of the cranking time to do it this way. Just a suggestion and always enjoy the videos.
I've installed one 180 degrees out. We thought it was a lift pump or air issue as it cranked for ages, but then it fired right up and drove around the shed 🤣🤣 made about 10hp and hosed the bores down. Fixed now obvi.

On older Mercedes 6 cyl diesels the injector pump outlet pipes had to be torqued three times. The technical manual said to torque them down, loosen and re-torque three times. If you didn’t you could often have a rough running engine.
So here's a story before I move from North Carolina I sold my 87 Mercedes om603 when I got here to Arizona I was looking around found a 87 went down to purchase it looked it over it was super clean my wife had the title the guy left because we're meeting up in the parking lot and I realize it was a 1990 om602. I wanted a 87 because I wanted to install P pump from a Cummins which has 12 mm plungers or what you call Elements. Have you ever thought about running a Cummins P pump

The box is changing harder because it builds more pressure when its under more load. Thats why if you potter about it will feel like stock. If you put more torque through it it will change harder still. Only downside is it will eventually reach a point where it can't build enough pressure and it will slip. That may need quite a bit of power though. They're pretty tough boxes.

re pumps a shipper said if you put mineral oil in any fuel component, it precludes you filling any dangerous goods paperwork out, as its non flammable.non toxic apparently

Wondering the same thing myself. I do have doubts though, because the concept is to expend the hole, not the plug. For example, induction heat works better on nuts than it does on bolts. I potentially fear that it might expand the plug and make it tighter if the head is cold.
if you want to split the corrosion bond between the alloy head and steel plug Ive not found a better way not using a flame/ oxy acetalyne mix an induction gun can be hired from your local hss shop no licence needed fot the gas or the bottles I have done well with inducton guns I have a 1500 watt gun myself Ive not had a totally stuck one for a while nor snapped one may my good luck continue

In the Porsche world the experienced rebuilders say never use a metal impeller water pump because if the bearing in the pump starts to fail the metal impeller will eat away at the block vs. the plastic impeller breaking. Both failures are bad. @dieselpumpuk have you ever seen metal impellers grind away at the block?
The water pump sits in a separate aluminium housing so cannot come into contact with the block. Also no I have never seen a water pump bearing failure in this platform thankfully.

That old car doesn’t have any lamda sensor with an proper EGR valve with position sensor in it to regulate the EGR, on those old engines it was just controlled by vacuum to an theoretical value by the ECU
@@torqgarage Nope, there is no lamda sensor in the exhaust so it’s just a theoretical value. Done this on soooo many IVECO trucks even with common rail engines, but not possible after they fitted the lamda sensor to have better control over the EGR
So over £1000 to only make 45.8 hp is it worth all the hard work and time spending changing a pump ? And some super weird way to keep the timing correct, if I was going to do it then I would change the timing chain as well and make sure everything is correct and tight

Personally, I would rebuild my injectors before I went off and did the injection pump. DPUK probably did, but I'm just saying, fresh injectors, then pump. If you're shooting for over 300hp pin the crank and cam. 300 might be low, but I'd rather be conservative on the build.
just one q. how is the gearbox holding up with 300 hp +. I have an w211 320 wit 280 hk. and 640 ish nm. but that is what mercedes say that the gearbox can handle.- it is an 7 speed automatic.
Thanks for your comment however the issue with what you have suggested is the stock boost sensor cannot handle the higher boost pressure we are trying to achieve so the sensor must be changed.
I am running om605turbo with 7.5mm mechanical pump in w124 with stock turbo and stock w124 250d exhaust underneath, i am sure my gains are much bigger than on this edc pump, what can be the reason? Can you make an info video why you think a bigger turbo at 2.2bar wil make more than the stock turbo at same pressure. I am dreaming about your s200 turbo, but i am afraid i will lose the early spool up of my stock turbo. (Have to admit i have problems with engine jerking above 4500rpm now, but not sure if it is from turbo or fuel supply)
Hello all, so I got a 98 e300td. And was lied to me by the previous owner about condition of a car. And when I looked at it twice thr engine was hot and ran ok, with a little misfire but no check engine, so I decided to buy it. After washing an engine so I could do some maintenance on it, it cooled off completely. And after I cranked it it idle very rough and had lots of misfire. And it had good bit of white smoke. Like to much fuel in the exhaust. I went for a drive and it was bad until engine got hot and gave me a check engine light and a code for random misfire. Than it sounded and felt just like when I bought it. On farther inspection I see a lot of air in the fuel lines. So my question is. Would air in fuel make an engine misfire, smoke, loud metal clicking noise (that's goes away with rpm)? Where should I start with tackling this problem?

But why EDC 7,7mm with original turbo? 6mm Edc can flud the engine even with v2 turbo of yours and i used 4bar sensor. May be the tune but even im impressed how could it happen. V2 is great turbo no doubt but how with 6mm elements? Original pump, original lift pump.

I can usually get by with doing this with or injection line in a 4 cylinder VP pumped VW diesel, sometimes 2. Definitely works.

not sdure if you have found away round the needle lift injectors which seem to be impossible to get serviced or new for the landrover version

W210 always rot in the rear wheel wells, good solid engine but suffers from plastic pipe fuel leaks causing back flow

Interesting suggestion but not the reason in this case. Hard shift is caused by the indifference in wheel speed.
My question is regarding the effect of the added horsepower on the head and pushrods of 603 and 606 engines.

12mm plunger or resitance 400ohms (adjustable is beeter) between 2 and 3 cable with 11mm stock plunger

Luke, You don't replace/reinstall the rubber piece behind the injector clips?
They were not removed, never fit the clips without the rubber sections behind.

dude... the new pump allows for up to 600 hp if you install a bigger turbo which can be bought for cheap

It's a diesel engine. A lean mixture is part throttle.

I had a tuner tell me 240hp was what the factory pump could do. I'm guessing that's even more than what factory turbo could do.

I am running om605turbo with 7.5mm mechanical pump in w124 with stock turbo and stock w124 250d exhaust underneath, i am sure my gains are much bigger than on this edc pump, what can be the reason? Can you make an info video why you think a bigger turbo at 2.2bar wil make more than the stock turbo at same pressure. I am dreaming about your s200 turbo, but i am afraid i will lose the early spool up of my stock turbo. (Have to admit i have problems with engine jerking above 4500rpm now, but not sure if it is from turbo or fuel supply)

Hello all, so I got a 98 e300td. And was lied to me by the previous owner about condition of a car. And when I looked at it twice thr engine was hot and ran ok, with a little misfire but no check engine, so I decided to buy it. After washing an engine so I could do some maintenance on it, it cooled off completely. And after I cranked it it idle very rough and had lots of misfire. And it had good bit of white smoke. Like to much fuel in the exhaust. I went for a drive and it was bad until engine got hot and gave me a check engine light and a code for random misfire. Than it sounded and felt just like when I bought it. On farther inspection I see a lot of air in the fuel lines.
So my question is. Would air in fuel make an engine misfire, smoke, loud metal clicking noise (that's goes away with rpm)? Where should I start with tackling this problem?
Yes most likely because of air in the fuel system. Most likely culprit are the O-rings mentioned in this video

But why EDC 7,7mm with original turbo?
6mm Edc can flud the engine even with v2 turbo of yours and i used 4bar sensor.
May be the tune but even im impressed how could it happen. V2 is great turbo no doubt but how with 6mm elements? Original pump, original lift pump.
Turbo is next step, this pump is capable of over 600bhp
Can you now chip the car with that pump to make it run even better and make it have a rev limiter
