    Really looking forward to this series of videos. I began my coloring journey a couple of years ago and was doing pretty well with it and loved it very much. However due to illness the first of this year I’m having to start all over and learn everything again. I have been feeling so depressed and frustrated by starting all over again and this type of series is exactly what I’ve been needing. Thank you so much for doing a series like this. Bless you😊

    Thank you for starting the series. I've learned the hard way on picking the pencils. I bought Prismacolor and then waited for 2 years until I felt I was ready to use them. LOL

      yes so many do and find them so hard to use .... I find that budget friendly pencils work great and are always the best way to start just to find out if it is even something you will find joy in 😊❤️

    Great video. I agree with everything you said. I've never stopped coloring from childhood but now there are so many better pigmented brands to really develop your coloring pages. It's so nice. Like you said it does take time to grow. And you definitely need to start with a very easy book to develop your skills. I wish I had of learned to not purchase experienced sets like prismacolor when I started my advancing journey a few years ago. It was kind of confusing with color names i've never heard of and so many options of one color. Then you come on here, youtube, for help and there are a lot of actual artist using these pencils. You start to feel bad about your own coloring skills. Then label their videos with "step by step," which is time lapsed, and you don't get any further than when you started. So I've learned to take my time and don't compare. I found a couple of channels that actually help you by explaining techniques. I color probably 5 times a week. This allows me to be really familiar with my colors and how they layers. Plus I use my swatch chart. One thing I do want to suggest is I make copies of my coloring pages so I can work out my palette on it. Or if there's a digital copy too, I purchase it. I don't feel like I am ruining anything. If I don't like it, I have another copy. I write down my palette for each item on the page. Once I feel good about, then color it in the book. I am so happy you are doing this because it's going to be very helpful.

      Thank you and yes with some books I do suggest if your concerned with ruining the page in a high end or expensive book that copying the image and doing a test to be the best way to go but the smaller less expensive books are great to start in and if you only colour in the book for the first few months of your journey you have a great tool to see your progress as you develop your art ❤️

    Thank you for creating this series❤! I've been on my coloring journey for quite a few years, but my skills are still amateur, so I'm excited to learn and improve 😊

    You are just what I was looking for! Although I have been coloring since the Fall and have the Prismas and the F-C Polychromos plus all types of gel pens, Derwent Inktense, etc, products, and have colored pages that I love---I somehow feel as if I skipped the basics. I just love coloring--but I feel a bit frustrated and confused. I think your channel will be my salvation! LOL! I have just ordered "Matchstick Mouse'! See you next week! Lynn in NYC

    Thank you so much for this series ! I've been collecting some color pencils brands for a few months, just making swatches and playing with a few different papers. My most expensive ones are the 60 polychromos, and l put them on the side (they scare me 😅).
    I often buy my pencils on Vinted, a second hand app. here in Europe. I have Brutfuners but not the square ones. And l have the Matchstick mouse!
    So l saved the first 3 videos to watch and try, hoping l manage to do something satisfying 😉
    Sorry for the language mistakes, l live in Belgium and English is not my mother tongue 💕

    Great video. I wish I had watched something like this when I was new to coloring. Just that tip about the Castle pencil case was worth the watch. I love Castle pencils but the back of the case is annoying. Tons of great tips here.

    Great for beginners and any level, especially about paper types and the effect of the experience on your pencils.
    Also I wish I had known in the beginning to sharpen ones pencils before swatching/starting. TYFS

    I just got the Matchstick mouse book and every other page is a messy blur. It's printed by Amazon in GB and obviously they have zero quality control. If it was designed in Ireland and printed in GB why is colour spelled wrongly?

    • @MyColouringCornerwithRene
      @MyColouringCornerwithRene  8 місяців тому +2

      I am sorry that you recieved a poorly printed book I am sure that they spelled it the American way to reach a wider audience.... I would return it to amazon and get a new book

    Great ideas here. However, i have tried numerous times to use pencils (all brands, expensive and cheap) on Amazon paper. I just despise how it looks, i have a little luck putting marker down first, but still...ugh. I will watch you in the mouse book, but I just can't put the pressure on to get satisfaction using pencils in it.

      I dont put a lot of pressure when colouring with any pencil I layer and with some papers it takes more layering then others and some will require a burnishing with a blender afterwards ... these videos are geared towards people who want to colour and dont know where to start and are trying things for the first time and will be a progression as skills grow.
