when you hit the runway, is it okay to downshift from 4th gear to 2nd gear to help take some of the stress off the spoiler and brakes and use the transmission to slow it down too?
Just interested here but why would they recommend to not hand fly with the A/T enganged? Is that maybe because it can be a little slow to react resulting in ups and downs in the N1 in is certain wind conditions? Thanks
@@Dannyp010ive only flown the 737 in sims but i assume its because the spoilers only deploy automatically when landing at idle so you wanna be able to manually reduce the thrust. a/t won’t do that i don’t think.
@@IssthiThe 737 a/t design will automatically retard thrust, so long as these prerequisites are met. Either the ‘N1’ or ‘Speed’ mode must be selected and you are at 27 ft RA iirc. Only a student irl but 5000 hours in sim so take it with a grain of salt if you’d like but i believe this is correct. Basically, it will always do it if you aren’t flying an rnav with vnav.
Do you guys use ils to help line up or do you use a RNAV? Been trying to figure out what is the best kinda approach. Been uaing RNAV on flightsim cause isnt RNAV the future?
ILS is a precision appraoch, it is better than RNAV, but some RNAV approaches have LPV which can have the same minimums as an ILS approach. If you can chose, use can ILS.
What sean said, ILS is a precision approach and RNAV is technically non-precision however there are some rnav approaches that are pretty damn close to precision
Let's find a resolution to this. How about we all agree that they were two very loud nose blowing events by the cameraman, in rapid succession, whilst he was trying to emulate a tornado horn? 😁
This company apparently uses a specification where the engine start selector has an auto mode instead of just a normal off mode. It is not normal in the EU.
But in general, it needs to be in a timed ignition position during takeoff and landing. Of course, it varies from company to company, but Boeing recommends this. @@cdesha
American Airlines likes to buy fuel in certain places that are cheaper if they are able. So maybe in this cause they got more on board wherever they came from. I was told this by a American pilot I know.
Great video!
awesome landing
Strange that he is flying manually but wirh autothrottle engaged. Normally manual flight is manual thrust as wellon the 737.
AAL allows this in their SOPs
Pretty normal actually.
The windshield wipers lol so weird that they arent fancy at all
Best manual landing

wdym 4th gear and 2nd gear, there are no gears like that on an airplane.
it was a funny@@AvCasey19
Interesting seeing AAL use the A/T on for landing. Not a Boeing procedure for a manual landing.
Yeah you wanna let llave handle that

Auto speed brake issue?
bad ass
Why auto throttle was not disengaged when autopilot is disengaged?
almost all US airlines land with autothrottle engaged, it does much better speed control on the VNAV Path

ENGİNE STARTER NOT CONTİNUOUS ?

It's ignition, not starter. Continuous is only used in certain situations, including severe turbulence among others.

Seems a lot of fuel for landing, 13'700lbs. Maybe a test flight or ferry of some sort?

@@EliteGamer_HD Your probably spot on, “fuel tankering”, I didnt think of that.
Maybe they had extra fuel for a diversion airport or because they bought fuel at an airport where it’s cheaper
Tanker and alternate fuel.
very steep angle of attack
how exactly? just to let you know these are real pilots. Unlike yourself
AOA is right where it should be for a 737
