IPL Photofacial Before and After - IS IT WORTH IT?

  • I've been wanting to find something non-invasive to help with my aging skin and I decided on an IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) skin treatment, also known as a photofacial.
    This process applies intense light to your face (or whatever body part you choose) to help dissipate brown and red problems areas, mostly from sun damage. They say it takes up to 4 treatments to really see a difference but I feel like WOW after 1 treatment. Take a look at the before/after pictures at the end and tell me what you think!
    Skincare mentioned in this video:
    - Elizabeth Arden Let There Be Light Radiant Skin Lotion SPF 15 (I don't think they make this anymore. I got it at TJMaxx but also found it online here: www.buymebeaut...)
    - REN Clean Screen Mineral SPF 30 - this is the best! Affiliate link: amzn.to/3YnnJgB

    Your skin looks fabulous after just one treatment!
    I'd love to see the results after the 3rd! I have an appointment this Friday for the first of three treatments. Your candid video was very helpful in preparing me. Thanks!

      I completed 3 sessions and I’d say o my the first one had a dramatic difference I saw some difference with the second but nothing at all with the third.

    Yes. I also purchased a 3 pack of IPL treatments. My first one is in 10 days and I found your video very helpful. I can see the significant improvement in your skin. Being Irish, I get freckles too. Can’t wait to see the results after your 3 IPL.😮

      How did your ipl go???

      I never had them. They thought I was more of a candidate for the C02 Laser which I was already thinking about. It’s very strong and requires a lot of downtime. I think 2-3 weeks and you’ll look like a burn victim. You have to apply Aquaphor all day and avoid the Sun like the plague.
      The great news is, for me anyway, it’s ONE treatment and Done. That really appeals to me.

      I thought I had responded but just in case I didn’t… the second treatment barely made a difference and the third, I saw no difference. All of the major changes came after the first treatment only and I’m thrilled with the changes!

    I would love to see your results after the 2nd and 3rd treatments. Was it worth the additional treatments, being that the 1st one was so effective?

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  2 місяці тому

      The second one was about 2 months later and I saw very minor improvements and then I had the 3rd one a month after that and saw zero changes. I didn’t end up doing a video because there wasn’t anything to show. But the first one was totally worth it!

      I saw really great improvement with the first treatment. With the second, I saw very slight improvement and with the third, none at all. One treatment would have been fine for me. And the effects are lasting!

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  22 дні тому

      I think the swelling was only for 2-3 days. And you’ll notice it more than anyone else will. I think you’ll want to be gentle with your skin for the first week. You can definitely wear makeup. Just be gentle with removing it.

      @@AllthingsfadraHi! Had the IPL yesterday and this morning my face and neck, especially my face is super red and swollen and of course itchy! I’m using the Copper peptide mask that I leave on for 20 minutes, wipe it off and use Alastin Regenerating skin nector plus aquaphor to keep it moisturized. I’m also taking Benadryl for the swelling, redness and itching. I feel very uncomfortable. Didn’t sleep at all last night because of the itching. I don’t know if this was worth doing the procedure. Supposedly it takes three to five days for the swelling, redness to go away. Using ice pack as well but seems like it causes more itching just putting it on my face and neck! 😢 I’ll let you know how things are tomorrow if you’re you or someone else is interested 😅 by the way , your skin is looking great! 😊

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  13 днів тому

      I did not do Lumecca and they couldn’t even tell me the frequency! Normally you’re supposed to do increasing frequency for each visit. For mine, they did the same for visits 1&2 and higher for visit 3.

    Why would you invest in this treatment and not where SPF? or the"cream" they are selling you? You know that its not a PUSH you legit need certain products to get the best results and to help it not come back.You have to target hyperpigmentation from several angles. I just dont understand why people invest in the treatements but not the products that will assist the treatment and prevent relapse. Protect your investment.

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  3 місяці тому

      Let me explain a few things. I’m in my 50s. When I was younger, there was no recommendation to wear SPF daily. We put baby oil on our skin to help us tan. The damage on my face is from decades ago. IPL helps remove the evidence of the damage. The trick is to wear SPF going forward to protect my skin (which I do). The cream the dermatologist’s office recommended was from the dermatologist’s own personal skincare line that she developed for profit. They was red me to buy their moisturizer. I have a lot of good skincare at home.

      @TaraLynnBaeza 3 місяці тому +1

      @@Allthingsfadra What I'm saying is are you sure it was "just a moisturizer" For example when I do these treatments on my clients. I typically will recommend that they start on a retinol or a serum specifically to assist with discoloration and which also helps keep it from returning. And just so you know any and all businesses make some profit off of anything you buy, company branded or not. Moist derma and skin care professionals are not just selling you product for their own gain its for yours and the quality of results we want to see in clients. its not the same thing as buying Elizabeth Arden from a sales clerk at the mall.

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  3 місяці тому

      Yes, it was just a moisturizer. And they provided me no real recommendations before or after. Any knowledge I have is from my own research. I asked the te h to explain the technology in more detail and she couldn’t. And the doctor couldn’t be bothered to speak with me. Overall not a great experience with that office but I am happy with the results.

      Listen, when you edit videos of your own face all day long, you think more about appearance probably than other people do. I just want to look as young as I feel. Anyway, the pricing totally depends on where you live. I purchased 3 sessions for $800, which I thought was reasonably affordable.
