Woodturning - A New Piece of Ash

- In this week’s woodturning video, I'll be turning an ash bowl which I had rough turned about a year ago. Harry’s known to be an ash man (beaver) but he wanted something a bit different. I decided to go ahead and use some texturing with my Foredom rotary tool and then add a layer of red and black Milk paint. Once finished I sanded back through some of the black paint to expose the red.
The inside of this piece was finished with Ack’s abrasive paste followed with Hampshire Sheen High Gloss Wax. On the outside a coat of Mahoney’s walnut oil was applied to the base and milk paint.

I was thinking about trying Odies Oil. What did you think about the stuff? I tried Osmo Polyx a while back and didn't care for its uneven sheen between end grain and side grain. Does Odies give a consistent sheen? Great channel, I look forward to seeing your videos.
Hi Jacob, besides it being a bit pricey I think it worms pretty good! I've never had an issue with unevenness. It's super easy to apply. Think of it like a thick wax/oil that you just rub on and off. From my experience it just gives off a matte finish without much luster/sheen.
