Wow. That is an impressive piece of wood, and well done shaping it. I'm always worried when I see a black stain in wood that isn't spalted, because that's what old iron does inside wood. At least in some woods that have enough tannins to react with it.
Nice one. Surprised that it took 2 years to dry. I guess I forgot how wet and miserable the weather can be in the UK Here in Montana I would guess at between 3 and maybe 5 months. It's very dry here
Well it probably didn't need two years. That's just how long it took me to get back to it! Also, I'm down in Houston so it can be a bit humid at times.
