    Maybe the door is opening on the inside because imagine when you sleep and avalanche blocks the door or heavy snowfall and you can't get out. That way you can open the door and start to dig yourself from inside :D

    • @andrazegart
      @andrazegart  9 місяців тому +31

      Yeah, it’s pretty logical the door opens on the inside, but still my first thought was “oh no, I have to dig all of that snow” 🤦‍♂️🤣
      And when it opened on the inside I was like “no shit sherlock” 😂

      A woman ski touring in france got stuck for 3 or 4 nights because of that before rescuers found her (happened this year, quite close from a ski resort). She didn't die only because the door wasn't totally closed so she managed to get some (dirty) snow to melt and drink.

    Your mountains are so beautiful. Yugoslavia was not "open" when I studied in Austria back in '77, so I could not visit your beautiful country. Thank you for sharing your adventures. When I was your age, I was having my own adventures hiking in the lower Alps, hiking in the Sangre de Cristo mountains, and a little hiking through the Amazon rainforest. Now, I do my "hiking" vicariously through explorers like you and Ryan Mitchell and the Part-Time Explorer.

    As a newly retired high school teacher in Australia who has particularly enjoyed teaching history, I've been fascinated by your explorations of ruins of military bunkers. What an incredibly hard life it would have been for the soldiers stationed so high in the mountains.

    Another nice adventure. Your film making skills are getting better with each video.
    Tso things that stayed with me - 1) how you casually removed the nail from your toe lol and 2) how lucky you were at 20:00 to avoid a major accident. If not injuring your legs, could have been your hands with no gloves and holding the ice axe like that. Lucky escape! Also a lesson for us viewers to always stay cautious in the mountains if we are to try such adventures.

      Hahah yeah that nail incident was quite unexpected, but the nail was almost completely detached, so it didn’t hurt much.
      Yup, I could have broken or injured my knee there if I wasn’t careful…
      But my hands would have been fine, because the snow there was soft, and it wasn’t steep, so I wouldn’t slide off :)

    Thanks, another great video. Early spring is a great time, there is such a sense of hope in the air. Those slopes you traversed look steep. In the limited times I used crampons (mostly a warm climate rock climber) crossing snow slopes I found that my calves and ankles got very sore but I guess that if like you did a person grows up in such conditions then you are used to it.

    Do you never mix snow in with your water? I have done it many times over the last 40 years with no ill effects. I just dig down a little for clean snow and and add it when my widemouth nalgene is half empty so the remaining water can melt the snow. I also add some type of electrolyte powder and create a “Slurpee”. They really refresh a person on those exposed, warm summits! I couldn’t have finished some summits without it.

      I’m using Scarpa Mont Blanc Pro…
      But I would not recommend them.
      They’re cold, and my right heel always hurts in them… and I’ve also heard from other people having the same problem with these shoes, so it’s not just me.

    My friend when you do those torturous shots on the peaks walking back down for the camera, maybe you could attach a lightweight string or rope to your camera and then just drag it back up instead of you walking back down, either that or I think you should buy a small drone because you could do some incredible shots with that, I would love to know how the soldiers kept warm in those bunkers, amazing video my friend, respect from the UK

    • @andrazegart
      @andrazegart  9 місяців тому +1

      The one I’m using in the video is Millet peuterey integrale 35+10… which is ideal for summer multiday trips if you don’t need a tent…
      but in the winter 45+10 is a much much better option.

    Hej Andraž katero kamero uporabljaš? In koliko imaš prostora na spominski kartici ?
    Drugače zelo lepe vide snemaš kar tak naprej!!!

    • @andrazegart
      @andrazegart  9 місяців тому +2

      Hey,
      Uporabljam gopro hero 10 s 64gb kartico.
      Za enodnevne ture je ponavadi to dost prostora, ampak za dvodnevne pa velikokrat zmanka, tkoda mam vedno še dve rezervni s sabo.
      Pa tudi če se slučajno zgodi error na kartici, me reši rezervna, saj potem lahko naprej snemam brez da bi formatiral kartico in izgubil ves material.
