@SlyTheUberMan the 720S had an artificially enlarged grille where some panels were colored black, but the 750S had the true grille size by making the panels body colored
I absolutely love the clean and smooth design, i also love how they kept the 720s design language, they're doing a Porsche, I'll like to see more manufacturers iterating design languages instead of overhauling everytime.
Porsche designs are getting lazier, gone are the days when the beauty emerged from cars like the Carrera GT. Most models look the same except Taycan and the SUVs which actually feel a bit premium as compared to their top-end models looking like hatchbacks from the rear.
My favourite design feature about these cars is where they placed the air intake around the cabin instead of behind the doors, it makes the side of the car look so much smoother and sleeker. It was such an innovative design feature I love it.
The 720S is still one of the most original and timeless looking cars ever, many are disappointed that the 750S is so similar but as one well known automotive journalist had compared the 720S to the Lamborghini Countach in terms of its ground breaking design in the supercar world….. and I agree with that too.
Bembli, you've said it yourself about black accents. They make the design look slimmer, thus sportier. That's what is missing from the 750S at the front compared to the 720S. It comes off looking heavier or fuller than it's supposed to be. Remember Jaguar's F-Type and the first refresh it received; how the lower trim pieces and diffuser got body colored making it look fat.
Remember to do yourselves a favour when specc'ing yours and tick the body-colour headlight socket box. It really makes the 720/750S a lot more aggressive-looking.
First time I saw the 750, I thought that McLaren "pulled an Apple". But your explainatios made me appreciate what they did and understand why they did it.

Outstanding review. You nailed it when you told the difference between product design and artistic design. I believe I saw a 720S on Woodward Ave in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan the other day and it's so intimidating, C8 Corvettes were getting out of its way.
As an engineer I agree that industrial design has taken over too much. Personally I think the core of car design should be emotional and the engineering should be made to those constraint then minor changes should occur to get the last bit of function up to spec (e.g. rear diffuser)
Its funny, the 720/750s has a design language that i wish the c8 corvette had employed. The mid engine corvette Stingray should've had a design language that reflected its namesake. Stingray, aquatic, a creature of the ocean. fast and sleek. But instead GM Chevy designers doesn't believe in curves. apparently their designers all have straight edges and have banned all use of curves. which makes all their vehicles look like something from an 80's metal hair band. all Z's and no S
I love how clean the 720s is tho, the contrasting carbon fiber front bumper intakes, the flush rear spoiler, and the lack of the ugly vent behind the rear wheels, it's a more perfect design imo
don't get me wrong, i love the design, just wished they could've came up something more "aggressive" with the 750s just something like with the more track focused 765LT
I'm a big fan of the 720s, so I do like how this car looks, it's just that I expected this to be a bigger update similar to the Artura. It feels like we've already been through this with the 765LT. I guess we're still waiting for the 720s' successor..

I don't think they should do exactly what lamborghini did. Have the electric motors give power and make the car much faster. Maybe the electric motors can power just the front wheels and give awd for a better launch. Maybe use Formula 1 technology and make something like the MGU H, use the electric motor to spin up the turbos so you can always have max boost without any turbo lag.
