Your review is crisp, scripted, clear to listen to, and thoughtful. You deserve more followers and will have them over time. The time-limit on "hooded figure" quests was a common complaint and the timer has been removed in a game update. Part of the game is interleaving multiple goals while sailing around efficiently. The hidden timer on hooded figure quests worked against that. In a gamers world filled with ray-traced NPCs and exact mouth-->dialog matching, the hand-drawn still-frame graphics of Dredge are charming and don't detract from gameplay. There aren't even voice artists, except for the Umms and Ahhhs. Black Salt could swap out the subtitles into any language and the game work work fine.
I really want to give this game a try. When it was first announced I thought the aesthetic was cool but I assumed it would be a visual novel or something dumb. As soon as I found out it was a roguelite I was sold. I’m hoping it will go on sale or hit PS Plus soon. I want to pick it up but my backlog is like a mile long so it’s hard to justify it.
There is a big problem with soft locking in this game. I also wish the treasure hunting aspect was fleshed out more as well with post game content, I've commented about a randomly generated encounter at sea with mermaids and sirens, one that would be the hooded figure quest but with fish tiddies and gold and the other would be a test of your riddle solving abilities with presumably other replayable quests to add other things to do other than just fishing but I don't think that those two things would be good enough.

Thank you for the kind words and providing an update on the state of the game. I'm glad they patched that minor issue!
Nice. Ill pick it up.

You should give Cassette Beasts a try and see if it clicks with you
Tell me more about it? What kind of game is it?
