Two things that really helped a lot. You mentioned the drill bit size and in the beginning you talked about the adjustable pin for the bottom of the handle. Thanks!

Lifesaver video! Thank you so much. My first time replacing deadbolt and handle. This helped so much. I appreciate you staying what size drill bit to use for the bottom hole. 👍

I just installed one of these. The scariest part was having to drill through the door.
The curious thing is that it says you need a 3/8 (which really is 9.5 mm) or 10 mm drill bit. So I'm surprised a 5/16 (8 mm) worked. For me, the 3/8th was slightly larger than needed. That part only goes 1/2 way through the door. So I used a 1/4 inch drill bit to go through the inner side metal layer for the bolt.
I was sweating it. I wish I had found your video first..you made it such a non issue. Bound to give the confidence required :)

Thanks for the kind words! Nothing is wrong with being nervous. In a lot of the videos I make, I'm nervous, mainly if I have never performed or installed the product before. Fortunately, I install plenty of door knobs and handles. I'm glad everything worked out for you!

This video was a lifesaver for me, especially since I installed in this in December in Minnesota (brrrr). I also had to drill a larger hole, so the 5/16" tip was helpful. The instructions that came with it were not helpful at all. Glad I found your video!

Locksmith here, great work, but you don't want to use a drill on those screws. They strip very easily. You might get lucky, but you also might be unlucky and have a screw that needs to actually be drilled out. A good old screwdriver with a round shank is best, round so you don't scratch the finish. Great video.

Our door did not have the indented section to fit the latch plate into, so we had to chip that out of the door before installing the handleset. Thankfully, my 13 year old son has been getting some woodworking lessons from grampa, and he had a chisel and knowhow! That plus watching your video, and, voila! I have a new, working handle! Thanks for giving me the inspiration to tackle it on my own!

Hi I have a schlage lever knob, one question should the shaft on the outer piece wobble around, looks like two pieces that wobble is this broken or do I need a new lock set,. This door is not the main entry and really isn't used that much, I had been opening it once in a while and one day it just wouldn't open and it is not really old? Help please.

    • @ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV

Sorry for the late reply. Mine wobbles a little bit but not a lot. But if it wobbles a lot then you may have to get a different one. Also if there's not a door that you don't use that much there are cheaper product on Amazon that will give you the same look. I hope this can help.
