Dear Family. Allow me to point out a severe problem in our church. That is people will repeat something and believe something, while not pointing out a scriptural reference. If you notice, there are some who disagree and believe that Tithing is a command for the New Testament Church, yet will not point to ONE Bible verse. They will say Jesus told us to tithe, though there is no such passage. This is bigger than Tithing. This is the reason why so many succumb to false teachers, because they simply don’t read and follow the words of the Bible. A false teacher doesn't have to work to deceive many because many seem to revile teaching. People seem more concerned with promoting tradition, feelings, or anything that will benefit them, rather than the actual words of the Lord
But Jesus did teach the tithe. Jesus, who is Melchesidech {King of Salem/Peace}, received tithes of Abraham before giving the Law on mount Sinai concerning it (the tithe), who confirmed it by His prophet (Malachi) and upheld & taught it Himself during His earthly ministry. That's a lot of witnesses to His truth. 1 John 5:9 KJV If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater.. & we know God does not change, for... Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8 KJV Red letters (where He taught it)🔽🔽 Luke 11:42 KJV But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these {JUDGMENT, LOVE OF GOD} ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other {TITHE} undone. There is nowhere in scripture where the tithe has been disannuled. There are multiple places where it's been established & upheld.
I am glad you said it. you are pointing out your OWN personal misbelief and not point out ONE BIBLE VERSE that say stop tithing. what you fail to realize is the tithes is a way to receive blessing from God both natural and spiritual. it is a way to relief ones self from curses. if you break down the word into the proto-hebrew you will God set this ordnance up with Abraham in order to have lasting blessing on him. also you mention " dispensation" a term not in the Bible to explain why you shouldn't obey the very scripture you read. you do greatly error. the issue is tithing on good ground we should not be giving our tithes to a building. it was never meant to fill the pastors pocket, nor meant to keep lights on in a building. Deuteronomy 14:22-29 lets us know tithes is for the "Levite" (meaning the people of God as we are now the royal priesthood) that fit the follow criteria -widow, fatherless and stranger (homeless). God set this up before the law to give man who dwells in the realm of sowing and reaping. a way to ensure lasting blessings. also you meantion it was meant for the jew so it doesn't apply to you, if your read romans 11 you can understand your the branch grafted in. also you didn't think you suppose to give then read acts 9:10 ananias and sapphire died lying and with holding offering. lastly please make sure your saved according to Acts 2:38. then the spirit of God will correct your great error. I pray you turn away from this folly and be set free. it is greed and self righteousness that causes one to even want to agree with what you said. just know you MUST PAY TITHES. it is Tzdeka. doing the right thing because it is your duty to do so. Malachi explains you are already cursed and tithing is your way to remove the curse. fi you wan to be cursed keep it yourself don't lead others astray for the Blood will be required at your hand on the day of Judgment. flee from this turn unto God and watch the blessings flow
Totally agree. I think we should all be reminded as well to keep emotions under control and keep patience, reason and understanding on the table when throwing comments... Cool guys 🎸🎵
@@melbrew7 Amen brother. The guy of this channel is now blocking my post of the scriptures??? I guess if scripture don't match his opinion/ understanding he blocks it. Wrong attitude.
True story, years ago my wife and I could not afford to pay our bills and we asked God to show us the solution and to my amazement the solution was to pay a tithe. I told my wife who told me go back and pray some more because we don't have enough money and that would make us have even less. I went back and prayed some more and sure enough God said I should tithe. After about a month my boss called me into his office and doubled my salary.
@danielswann3319, Thats exactly what God does! Ive been fired by God from every job Ive had since 2001. Every new job came with a raise. I can tell you this truth also. When I was working full time at walmart, I got myself a 2nd job. I worked one day a week at grocery stores putting in the magazines. I had planned on using that for bills i had. I also knew, I was leaving walmart, but didnt know when. God got me that job, and He told me a year in advance, that He was taking me out. He said, No to what I wanted to do with it. He said, you are going too sow your way out of walmart. Thats not something you hear too often. I knew it was God talking to me. When I got my check from walmart, I tithed on it. When I got my check from the magazines, I gave that money to my Pastor. To use however he sees fit. This went on for about 4 months. Then my time was up. I also had unemployment for 3yrs. I learned, I can trust Jesus. I remember when my 4 girls were still in school and needed school clothes. I didnt have the money. God told me, about a young woman that would like to look pretty for church. Give her some dresses. I thought nothing of it, and said, ok. I went thru my closet, gave her some dresses. The next morning my Dad calls and says, I have 2 $500 gift cards for the 2 younger ones for school clothes. My Father was not a christian man. He knew nothing about this. It is true, Have a need, sow a seed. Thats what The Lord taught me about the clothes. I needed clothes for my girls. She needed clothes for church. God took care of both of us. Thank You Jesus
So true. People always have an excuse why they don’t tithe. They can do everything else they want to do and then forget about tithing. Tithing was the smartest thing I ever did. I tell people just tithe cheerfully and watch God work in your life. Stay blessed
@@Nisa-gm5wgExactly. Say what you will about Dave Ramsey, but I heard a caller ask him once if he could continue to tithe while paying off debt because it was something he wanted to keep doing. Dave asked him, can you live off of 90% of your salary? It was the first time I heard someone frame tithing in that way. The truth is, I used to spend way beyond 10% on a bunch of things I didn’t need. All it got me was a bunch of debt and no savings. Giving a mere fraction back to God of what has been given to me has been life-changing.
I tithe at my church. I know it cost money to have a building, lights, and other things. We are a small congregation. However, we have been blessed. We provide a food bank and actually received money from the county to build a warehouse and refrigerators for the food that is donated. We use money for mission work and two orphanages. We have total transparency as to where money goes. We must be mindful of how we tithe and where the money goes.
@@MarlonThorne1 that's true, selfishly you will guard your money for yourself. If you love God you will have faith in Him that your money will be used for His Kingdom. Many people want to find an excuse to not tithe but are quick to ask of God for financial stability and its not that I'm saying God wont hear you but it builds trust in between Him and you. If God has blessed you and you trust in Him, why not give to your church its a full time job to serve the Lord if you didn't know.
The early church had no salaried gospel workers. And yet the Bible is the very truth churches claim to follow. No 501c3 corporations with pastors as CEO. That have made the state their God. Read church in chains by Barbara ketay about the 501c3 trap. Churches want tithes to fund their corporation. And to be state subsidized. Get people to tithe and get half of it back tax time. And they boast of,how much they give when they get it back. It is kind of wicked. Just false. And state compromised. Jesus is not head of a 501c3 church. Pastors have made the IRS head of their churches.
@@ricardocastro4289 you are missing the point of the presentation. The speaker is showing that Tithing is not a requirement under the New Covenant. Giving from your heart cheerfully is the new standard.
The assignment is not returning to Old Testament law. Where tithing was food. God destroyed the levitical system in 70AD with the destruction of Jerusalem. If you want to support your church. It is free will giving that is New covenant gospel . Where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. Everyone gives as they determine themselves. Not tithing which is works based and produces self righteousness. Let,not your left hand know what your right hand is doing.
However you have pastors preaching messages of condemnation so much so that the members are often guilted into getting saved every Sunday, because the God they're given is seen as an angry and vengeful God instead of Love, compassion and grace
When you see the pastors giving like they tell you to give, then do so. Until then, keep your money, invest in your retirement, pay your bills. Stop funding their luxury vehicles, designer clothes, and mini mansions in exclusive neighborhoods.
Tithes and offerings are 2 seperate things that cannot be substituted for each other. They have nothing to do with each other. Tithes are not ours to "give" thats why we "bring" the tithes. They belong to God. Thats why you cant direct the tithe. The seed on the other hand can be directed and is done willingly and cheerfully.
@malachi9898 I'm speaking on giving to the church ( building) in general, were not told to tithe after the cross, really not before then unless u were Jewish
All I can say is, I’ve been very blessed since I’ve started tithing… There’s a Promise that comes with tithing. God said He’ll open up a window and pour you out a blessing that you won’t have room enough to receive. That is my testimony. I’ve been blessed so much that I have to turn down jobs and opportunities because I’m already booked with jobs and opportunities to do other things in the field that I am in. God bless you all.
So not paying tithes is making people broke? So what about those people that have overflow and never tithe? I guess you would say the devil provides too
Tithes was for the Jews and it was not money but every first crop produce and animals . As Gentiles we give any amount. What confuse me , the Bible says we are no longer under law but when it comes to money pastors are talking us back to the law , are we killing grace now

Tithe is the wrong word today. But giving freely is a blessing. If they are doing the Father's work, then He will bless you (not meaning in money, but in Heavenly riches). Tithing is not always giving to the church. It can be tithing to the homeless, family, or people in need, paying someone's rent/mortgage or utilities, car notes, etc., because they're in need. Giving cash or food donations to the Salvation Army, local food banks, donating to Women Shelters, etc.
You really think whatever “little” money you give is the reason for “the level of blessings and favor” in your life? Nothing surpasses God’s love, unconditional provision, and grace. I give to my children, not because they give me anything.
Exactly. You can't ever beat God giving. God is so merciful to us all. Not sure why people (professing believers) always target tithing as the first thing they want to get rid of when using their "freedom in Christ" not under the law. I will stick with the inspired word written in Malachi 3:6-10.
You can continue to live in ignorance. The book of Malachi was written in the pre- Christian era (BCE )Jesus Christ who gave up his life in heaven, whose life force was transferred into Mary's womb so that he can be born, then die for our sin, risen and entered back to his spirit reams in heaven. I stopped with tithes many many years ago. With my tithes and offerings, I bless those with out. I noticed some churches have lavish things while the poor or their congregation has nothing. Also when a person has a need in a church, some churches do not help them and I find that very sad.
@VictorianMaid99 I think what is sadder, when people are giving up their very last out of guilt (unless they are led by God). But many times it's given to multimillion or multi-billionaires who doesn't need it🤔
I noticed when a person had a need and went to the church for assistance, they would not give them what was required. For instance, if the need was for $50 to get their lights turned on, the church would only provide $35, and the member would have to pay it back once they got on their feet. The church would tell them to reach out to family or friends for the rest. I had to quit volunteering at my church because of situations like this, yet, they would go all out if the pastor had a need, or for his birthday or anniversary. The standard was higher for him and at the lowest possible level for the members. 😢
@Zoe-zq4xh very sad indeed. I haven't read anywhere in the Word of God where it says a person has to pay it back. I was reading through more comments and saw how a few disagree with Corey statements because they feel the need to give so they could get back in return. But in all actually, is that truly a reason to give in the first place?
All I know is that giving my tithe, even when it was very hard financially, God blessed me SO MUCH. I no longer struggle for anything financially, but I had to show God that money was not my God. ❤✝️❤

@@kpage592 The tithe protects you and the seed determines your growth. Both must be done. Thank God my wife was a tither, but not much of a giver. Our faith grew with our giving and have seen major financial breakthroughs ever since. Way beyond what we could imagine. God is not a liar. His Word is TRUE! Im tired of listening to false teachers trying to preach against the Word of God keeping many in financial bondage. Glory be to God!
When I first heard about tithing, I had to research the topic a little deeper to see what was actually given in a tithe. Turns out, there were three tithes given: a sacred tithe and a feast tithe were given annually, and then a poor tithe was paid every three years for those who couldn’t support themselves. Those who tithes properly in the Old Testament were subject to those three tithes, and because of how many tithes were paid, Mosaic Law actually gave away 23.33% of what they had rather than 10%. If you are of the belief you should tithe and you only pay 10%, you are in violation of the law because you only gave away one of three tithes and not all of them. To follow the law, you needed to give 20% 2 years out of 3 and 30% every third year because of how many tithes were paid.
I have been saved 30plus years and after I researched the context of tithes and realized it’s not scriptural For a new testament gentile. When I was a young Christian I started realizing I have a strong discernment so I remember asking my pastor if it was ok to give my tithe to a member because I was feeling a strong urge to do this. His. Comment was to always follow the direction of the Holy Spirit.. I didn’t know these people at all. All I knew is they had money, lots of money so it never made sense then the next Sunday the couple got up in the church and explained how they were losing their house. Now I meet needs. I strive to be directed on who to help when to help. God has never failed me .. I’m so thankful for Gods direction. Some of the stories of how God directed me truly softened my heart , humbled me and blew me away how God uses people to help me and me to help them through money and material possessions ..xoxoxo
This is a wonderful testimony of how God blessed you by listening to Him about who to give it too🙏🏼♥️ It’s also very encouraging for me as I don’t tithe but I’ve always felt I needed to give to different people God puts on my heart at different times and they have been overwhelmed as they were struggling without me knowing too. I can’t afford a lot as disabled and can’t work but God always blesses me whatever I give them. I think He looks at the heart rather than the amount 😊
Such a beautiful testimony. 🥹 But I want to share something with you. Endure to the end and the same shall be saved. We must work out our salvation with fear and trembling. We been under the notion that once saved always saved and the scriptures does not support that. Please stay connected to Yah!
God is really speaking to me through people. Thank you brother Corey, I went to church yesterday and the pastor preached on Malachi 3 and even had the nerve to say, even if you can’t pay your bills, you still need to pay your tithes. I don’t have a church home because I haven’t found a church with sound doctrine; tired of the prosperity gospel
@christinaterhune I was in your a few years ago but God is faithful. Maybe you need to take a break from these prosperity churches and spend some one-on-one time with God just praying, studying and seeking His face. He will definitely lead you to the right place of worship. You may follow Wayside Chapel online, they really teach the word, goodluck 💪
I haven’t tithed in decades. And yet God has blessed me tremendously. Why do people think that God will only bless them if they tithe? The deceit is great.
@@ellarodriguez3773 There are plenty of teachings out there using the Bible itself to prove why tithing is old covenant teachings. Those who want the truth and seek it will find it.
You don't pay tithes to the pastor, that's a Black church thing. However if the pastor is fulltime, then you must put him on a salary and do raises as appropriate. Tithes are not to support the pastor in a lavish lifestyle while 50% of the congregants are barely staying above water. Something is wrong when the pastor is in a mansion or a large house in a gated community when the majority of the parishioners are living in public housing or on welfare.
Since I was 16, I have payed my tithe (1/10th on gross) as soon as I was paid from my employer. I am 66 and still do it. I raised a family of eight kids, most of whom now have a professional careers and have spouses and kids . They pay tithing, too. I testify that the promise in Malachi is real. Though I have no degree, the Lord has always made it possible to live a life with enough money for my needs, and blesses my childrens family the same. This is not a request, it is the Lords direction so the church can function, and so will the donor.
I tithe one tenth on my gross income before taxes. I tithe the worth of substances like gifts, bonuses, and on my interest on bank accounts. If I happen to sell something that was paid by income that was tithed, I will pay tithe on the increase, only. I am live on social secuity with my wife. We tithe that income, too. I don't pay tithe twice on the same income. My wife and I have raised a family of 8, with two severely brain damaged children. I have never been rich, but neither have I ever been so in debt that I could not get out. I have never bought a new house, new car, nor have I ever been in terrible debt. I have always been careful in buying necessaties, but have had a rich life of children, and grandkids. My able children pay tithing the same way I do. God has rewarded us in many ways, especially spriritually through the years. Compliance to God's commands rewards the faithful in many ways. My life has been splattered with some disappointments, but through my faith in Christ, I have had a fairy book life, with way more goods than bad. I agree, the New Testiment doesn't re-state the importance of tithing, but paying it is a blessing to the faithful. @@stanleyseiti1317
The church used to be the place that took care of the poor. With today’s social programs it is not necessarily the case. Seems like the more you give, the fancier the buildings get and the richer the pastors get, which completely negates the reason - for the work of God.
I doubt that you attend church. They do help the poor. They help their members. Why would you attend a mega church? Simply don’t! People always find a way to try to diminish God’s word. Give to the church!
You would be wrong . I am a faithful member of a Biblical Baptist church, and have been for 40 years. My point was that in the past centuries, people who were down on their luck and were not church goers, could seek help from any local church, whereas now we have welfare to help them . I was in a small country church years ago , with a small congregation. When we got a new pastor, he constantly emphasized tithing, then started talking about building a larger new church, which we didn’t need, nor could we afford it. He left after not having his way.@@imaginejoi
It’s crazy that so many are talking about their feelings and opinions, and neglecting the word. Could we all take a minute to step down from our soap box, actually listen, and take in what the word says?
My father was a builder of churches ~ LITERALLY as well an outstanding minister (by his congregation opinions) He passed away when I was three, but his personality was as big as life itself. I can still remember him to this day and his attitude on tithing. When you see a person or family in real need, trust in the Lord, for he will guide you in what steps of giving unto them may or may not be, and fallow GODS will. I stop tithing to churches years ago and GOD has continue to bless me and my family because through our compassion and love and giving to the individuals that have been in need. Amen
I really have struggled with this. I am 63 I have tithed since I was 13 years old. The last 10 years I began to look around. Huge Churches everywhere. Yet my own children struggle to make a living. So if I see a need I do what I feel lead to do. I still give to the church. But a spread it around. Sorta of like being a good Stuart and making sure the tithe and offering goes to a good place. In good soil. We just found a church there has been no offering taken. There is a box that who ever wants can put thier tithe or offering in. I prefer to give like an offering it feels like it comes from my heart and not some sorta guilt trip. Blessings, thanks for the video!
Matt 5: 17 “DO NOT THINK THAT I HAVE COME TO ABOLISH THE LAW OR THE PROPHETS; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
(“a good steward” not Stuart) I pray things get better for your family. I like the idea of having a box so people can give tithes and offerings as they see fit. That takes the pressure off folks and reduces the potential of comparison. I’m at an international church in China. My church makes giving T&O part of service like so many other churches, but I enjoy tithing because we give a lot to the community, give to missions, have tons of classes and activities at church. Also, it makes me give thanks to God for the resources I’ve been given.

Guys, he's not saying you shouldn't give money he's saying you're not commanded to give 10% of your paycheck unless you feel like it in your heart that's what you should give.
I’m glad you brought this out. Most of black churches that I’ve been a part of have compelled their members to tithe. The church that I grew up in, which was located in the hood, would go as far as to send the offering basket around multiple times because the amount collected wasn’t enough. The Pastor would stand in front of the church and guilt people into giving more. The main passage Pastors use is that passage in Malachi. But recently I’ve committed to reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelations in one year, and one of the things I’ve noticed is that the Jews were under a specific law. We oftentimes apply Old Testament scripture to modern issues, and in doing that, we’re trying to apply a law that was never meant for us.
Good teaching! I do not tithe. I have been told I was cursed with a curse. I tried tithing and could not pay my bills. So I stopped and gave what I could. I am greatly blessed and have never lacked basic needs. Some tithers in the comments seem to be boasting about the fact they tithe. Please let's not become self righteous like the Pharisees. God bless
This! I don’t tithe either but I do give cheerfully. I still see the hand of the Lord move in my life. He’s blessed me beyond my own imagination. People who are putting negative comments are replying with emotions and not understanding of the scriptures. We need to read our Bibles and not be lead by the pastor guilt tripping God’s people.
Same here I stop tithing and start giving what I can to the poor and I have never lacked any thing I needed. Before I was struggling to pay my bill now I’m not. I’m able to give more freely and cheerfully.
At times I feel like these false teachings are like having someone sitting on my chest. As a person who struggles with shame personally, it’s hard to go to church sometimes because of the added shame that comes from the pulpit. Thank you for properly teaching the word. God bless!
I used to feel that way until I finally saw what was really going on behind the scenes. Notice the pastor that is demanding that you tithe, doesn’t. I pointed it out once and was told to be quiet. I asked why does the command apply to me but not to him. Nothing but excuses. Give directly to those who have a need or to those who assist others with needs or just keep your money. Most don’t realize you are directly supporting that pastors lifestyle, the church is his only source of income if he does not work a secular job.

We very recently started giving a full 10%. Prior we were maybe at 7 or 8%. Somehow, since we started tithing, my husband is suddenly interested in budgeting and saving for retirement. His heart is changing. For me, giving a tithe ensures I maintain my love and allegiance to GOD, not money. He owns it all anyway. We will continue to tithe, not be cause we are commanded to, but because it is beneficial for the kingdom and for our family. I believe the Lord will grant us contentment and wisdom. If we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. Giving a tithe is one way that I draw near to Him.
Quote: my husband is suddenly interested in budgeting and saving for retirement. His heart is changing. No his heart has not changed, he just has common sense, whereas you have been taken in by the pastor who wants to drain your bank account. If you end up broke and losing everything later in life because you gave all your money to the preacher, that will be on you for being so gullible. But as Forrest Gump says stupid is as stupid does.
I’m a PK. And til this day, the church has been teaching to pay tithes. But yet at the same time, claim we’re not under the law. Which doesn’t make sense because tithing was under the law. As I got older, I understood what tithing was for and WHO it was for. It’s not for the church and there is no more Levitical priesthood. So tithing is definitely not for the church. But don’t mistake that as not being a cheerful giver. I tell people to seek God and see how much He wants you to give and what to give.

God didn't command us to tithe. He commanded the children of Israel to tithe. And the place they were to take their tithes was in the land of Canaan. (Israel)
I live by this verse 2 Corinthians 9: 7-8. I give financially to whomever I please. Whether it's my children charity family members the homeless or someone who's in need of help. I do it not seeking nothing in return but I do it from my heart and it makes me feel good to help❤
Just because somebody teaches tithes doesn’t make them a false teacher y’all. In my church we tithe and I’m bless that we do because we sent 2 people to Florida to open up a church due to tithes and offerings. We don’t feel forced to give but we love to give our tithes it’s a blessing to do so.
Agreed. Teaching that Tithing is still applicable does not mean that one is as a false teacher (heretic), but only that such a stance is in error in light of the 2 Covenants. Tithing is not a Salvation issue and does not rob Jesus of His Deity, and therefore should not cause a break in fellowship between Believers.
Nothing is ours. God gives to us as gifts. To say "DANGER do NOT tithe" is dangerous. I understand pastors asking for congregations tithe for their selfish gain but 10% back to God is nothing when He knows your heart and the return He is going to give out of your faithfulness. It's up to the believer to have discernment to know where their seed is being planted. Tithing is a heart posture. Its a faith walk. This comment is based off of the title alone. Tithe to God not the building and greedy pastors. Seedenomics is a great book to read for clarification and scripture.
Brother, I agree with you. I would not tell people not to tithe. I would encourage people to tithe and give an offering. Jesus said when you tithe, when you fast, when you pray. I figured that there's an expectation that we would do these things under the new covenant. Give in faith, believing that God will bless you in your giving and bless you overall. I find that 90% tithed income goes a lot farther than 100% of an untithed income. As always said, "You can't beat God giving!" 😅
@@daniguevarez I love your response. You are so right. If God told you to give it all, then give it. You will make out just fine. Jesus challenged the rich young ruler to do the same thing and scripture informs us that he missed God because he wasn't willing to part with his earthly possessions. You cannot loose when you give to God. 😃
You just covered every verse the Lord has shown me. Almsgiving is the way God took us back to the time of Abraham. That way, the decision of what to give comes down to the believers asking the Lord what they should give. Furthermore, I believe we should give it to those who are poor, needy, Fatherless, and widows who have no one. Ty for sharing this. May the Lord continue to bless you abundantly🕊️
What do you think your tithing money goes to? The church collection is the sole financial source for the churches homeless programs. 99% of homeless shelters are owned by a church. Food pantries, soup kitchens, clothes for the needy etc etc. All of that comes from tithes. There isn't a church in existence right now that won't give a needy person food. Every church you see has a food pantry and most of them have a clothing donation area. All of that wouldn't be possible without tithes and grants from the government. Every dollar you donate to your church is used for the needy and homeless.
Give to God however you can, He knows whats in our heart ♥️ One thing is for sure, if your giving to God “God’s house,” and the Pastor or people of the Church is using the money for their own desires… You needn’t worry, for God knows who or what you were giving to “Him”! God knows ALL! 🙏🏽👱🏻♀️ Praise God.
Been tithing since I first became a believer. It is just recently that I have felt like God has been dealing with me to move away from the “you must give the first 10 percent” dogma that’s out there in so many Christian circles. I’m still on the journey, and this message has definitely helped. Thanks.

NOT TRUE.....

In my research I found the scripture that asks will a man rob God is speaking about the priests. The Jews under the law brought the tithe, but the priests in the temple didn't administer it as commanded. This is great teaching Corey.
The priest was the one robbing god. The storehouse was never the church. It was beside the temple in Jerusalem the priest was keeping the produce for themselves instead of giving it to the widows, orphans, and the poor
"If you don't tithe, don't even worry about praying about your finances because God doesn't hear you." That's one of the last things I heard the so-called pastor say before I left. I was a babe and the heresies had been piling up until that moment.
Doc I never teach that tithing is a command to the New Testament Church but I do teach that it is wise to do so. It is a heart issue, many years ago I made the same declaration that Abraham did and vowed to give God 10% of everything that he gave me. That was one of the best financial decision that I ever made. Proverbs the book of wisdom says to honor God with the first fruits of your labor that your barns may be filled. I place no burden upon my flock. But over 17 years of pastoring I can definitely see a difference in those that tithe and those that don’t. Btw man of God. I base my life on Old Testament principles and wisdom, most modern churches just use the NT. We should respect the INTENT of God’s laws even though we are justified by faith. Be blessed
I've tithing my whole life and EVERY ministry/pastor who I've heard preaches about paying tithes. They provide Old and New Testament scriptures to support this. My 90 percent gives alot further than keeping 100 percent. God has blessed me greatly for following this principle.
I'm glad for you, but that does not mean The Lord only blesses those who Tithe. In actual fact, I have been blessed in many ways over the last 4 years since I stopped tithing. So that begs the question : Why is God still blessing me when I don't Tithe anymore?
@@lancemarchetti8673Blessings are subjective. You're not supposed to tithe for blessings. You tithe out of obedience. Read Matthew 23:23. Jesus did say to tithe.
@@MrBri0523 I hear what you are saying, but correct interpretation of biblical passages is important. 1. Who did Jesus tell to Tithe according to what the Law required? Read carefully... Who was He addressing? Are you a Pharisee at the temple in 2023, or are you a New Covenant Believer? 2.Was Jesus addressing the Pharisees during the Old or the New Covenant? These are some things you need to think about., because correct interpretation is vital to understanding what has been bought for us.
@lancemarchetti8673 if you think stop tithing will bless you that is sad. It only means that God isn't interested in disciplining you. Go back to Him because the testimonies about tithing are real. I never used to tithe for years. It was hard. Then I was forced to. Now God has blessed me with humility and now I make $10,000 a week. Only God could do that. He did it AFTER money became just another worldly thing.

Too late, been doing it 20 years in the midst of debt... Debt free today, got raises multiple times, a vehicle I didn't pay for, sent kids through school and I can go on. An encounter can never be substituted for an opinion. Case Closed! Too many selfish people in the world today who aren't responsible and do not want accountability for anything.
Whenever I have this conversation it gets very heated. I always point out that in the scripture its was the farmers and herdsmen within the 12 tribes that were required to tithe. You didnt tithe money it was food even strong drink. People like to bring up Malachi 3:8-10. I always respond with Malachi 2:1. Context and exegesis usually go out the window when the subject of tithing comes up
I started paying my tithes with vegetables from my garden. The pastor of the church said what was this? I said it is my first fruits. He said HOW CAN I MAKE Payments ON MY NEW CADILLAC? I SAID THE SAME WAY I HAVE TO PAY MY RENT. The guy said never come back to his church unless we had the money We never went back.
Great point. These prosperity preachers like to preach "Give me all your riches because God said so. Just look at these tithing verses that ive twisted. Sorry you're poor, but pastor needs a new mercedes"
The tithes fund the pastors lifestyle, nothing goes to those in need. Does the pastor give tithes? The scripture they use does not say he is exempt. Most churches are filled with volunteers, the pastor is usually the only one on payroll. Musicians are barely compensated, they have families to feed as well. Anyone needing assistance has to pay the church back, that is if the church provides any funds. It is sad how these pastors manipulate the flock.
The late Rabbi Alan Horvath has a great teaching on this subject. He clears it up, We are not obligated to Tithe. That was for the servants of the priests in the Old Covenant.. NOT for us today! Most Pastors will not accept this. Give to the poor, you can never go wrong!
A church I was going to years ago the pastor gave a sermon on Tithing was not commanded for the New Testament church. This lady stood up and grabbed her son's hand and stormed out of the service. Sad to say, but some Christian don't want to research and study to see if a teaching is biblically true for New Testament Saints. Love your channel Corey.
Well balanced, and scriptural. Thanks for this. My wife is into the tithing aspect of giving, I struggle with the idea of tithing. Giving and tithing don't have to be the same thing. If a person can afford to tithe, then they can tithe if they want. but if they feel God put on their hearts to give only 5% then that is what they need to give. Thank you for helping to break the bondage of legalism.
This is so true that it's your heart that matters more to God than the act. My personal experience was I was raised that you tithe and so I did it just out of obedience to what I was taught. There was no grudge there was no fear it was just something I did. But at one point I joined a ministry and they instilled fear, quoting Malachi and making you feel like if you didn't tithe you're cursed. So at some point my motive for tithing became fear and God called me out on it and basically told me if I was tithing out of fear I may as well not do it. So I stopped tithing and guess what...I was not cursed. God still continued to bless me. But I also continued to give from my heart, but it wasn't a religious act as I had done before. It was freely giving from my heart.
Everything expense the pastor has is paid by the church, plus he gets a stipend each month. Imagine all the bills you have to pay each month with your paycheck, that is what you do for your pastor. But he does not bother to pay tithes.
I dated a pastor of a large church organization not a small self start, or street corner church and Tithes and offerings was given to him as his salary. Be careful true Christians.
@@Marc-ei5lj I kept the books for a small church of less than 200 people that saw donations of $1M annually and you are right, tithes and offerings, vows, etc all are controlled by the pastor and most of the money goes toward his expenses, all of them. Pastors get a housing allowance, the church pays for that, the church bought his vehicles, he had a pick up truck, Mercedes, and a Porsche, the church paid health and life insurance, paid the self employment and state taxes, paid for maintenance on the vehicles, paid for his utilities, food, clothes, vacations, think of all the things you do with your money, that is what the church paid for and he also got a salary. The one thing the pastor didn’t do, was pay tithes and offerings. Make it make sense. I would love to have a job where I only worked a couple hours one day a week and get paid like that.
I have a problem when the church explicitly tells you to only give to them. I also have a problem when they make it a part of the membership agreement and tell you you’re in violation when you don’t. It feels very authoritarian and non biblical. I’m rethinking the church I have been attending because of some recent red flags
You're totally wrong. It's dangerous for you to tie the Law to paying Tithe. Saying that if a person obligates themselves to paying Tithe is loving under the Law is a lie. The law, which is the Ten Commandments, doesn't address Tithe, so if a person feels they have to pay tithes, it's not living under the Law. You are deceiving people into believing they will lose their salvation if they obligate themselves to the Tithe. Also, you can't say that God is only talking to the Jews when addressing Tithe but conveniently say in other scriptures that God is talking to everyone when He's talking to the Jews about other subjects. Also, you're usually right about a lot but you're not perfect and I'm here to tell people who are listening to you "Study this subject on your own because you don't want to miss your blessing in heaven because you trust in what someone else says even if they mean well."
The concept of tithing is a Jewish law mandate. That is what Malachi 3 is referencing. 2 Corinthians 9:7 explains giving as a response to God's goodness under the current dispensation - it's in the video. The video also references Galatians 5 as a warning perhaps to those who would give out of obligation seeking justification by the law (read tithing) instead of through the finished work of Christ alone. I don't think the video is an attempt to abolish giving but rather a warning to us not to do so out of obligation - which is what bringing the tithe essentially is.
True, but one is suppose to take care of your family, widows, and elderly. Many tithe and ignore those. God takes care of me even when the church has not. Since I don't have a church anymore, I try to help those I can.
It not Yahweh you are giving to, it is man and man religious institutions. Yahweh doesn’t need your money because he own everything. Abraham only tithe once in his life time and it wasn’t from his own wealth but from those who he defeated in the war.
I have been struggling with settling with a church since moving back to the Austin area. So I have been attending where I use to go before Ileft(my mother's church). But I have been torn. Yesterday the pastor during his sermon firmly stated that if someone doesn't pay "tithe" they are indeed sinning. Red flag immediately went off. So it's crazy that you post this video today. Thank you
Please don’t give in. They are very good at manipulation, but you never see the pastor tithing. Ask them for an accounting of the funds given to the church. Don’t feel guilty about not giving to them. Find a charity that really helps those in need and give that way.

There was embezzlement by an old accountant, they didn’t believe money was bring stolen when I told them, I had to prove it before they believed me. I don't have a church home, so I tithe to charities like Feeding America, homeless shelters, and medical and dental charities that provide free medicines and dental to those in need. It feels good to give, and I lack nothing in this economy.
Notice how the churches that coerce tithing tend to struggle financially or make poor financial decisions? My former church was like that. Always quoting mal 3:10 to guilt ppl, also saying that Abraham tithed b4 the law as an example to tithe….yet always begging ppl for money whenever a new church project (which is usually a waste) was presented & started cutting off missionaries by leaps and bounds. My church preaches the same message that Corey presented and their finances are doing excellent

@craigthomas8083: The Lord acknowledged tithing but did not force it nor made ppl feel guilty for not doing it. Besides He was talking about herbs in this verse
I understand totally, Jesus mentioned that they have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
I have some questions for the advocates of tithing: Did Jesus tithe or receive tithes? Did the apostles of Christ (including Paul and Barnabas) tithe or receive tithes? Did the Early Church tithe? Did the priests of the Old Testament tithe? Did the poor under the Law tithe or receive tithes? Were fishermen or carpenters required to tithe in the Old Covenant? If you had 9 oxen, were you required to tithe under the Law? Did everybody tithe in the Old Covenant? Please, give me chapter and verse for each question? Thank you.
@@TriciaPerry-ef7bi Your father should study the word for himself and pray for understanding. He should make sure he is taking care of his responsibilities in a sensible way for minimum impact. Sounds like he may be financially illiterate. He should try to get with a certified planner that can assist him with managing his funds and help him set aside something to give. In the beginning of my career I had to read a lot of books to figure out how to do this, trial and error helped me learn what worked best for me. I recently bought a new construction home with CASH! Yes, cash because I saved for it, it was a goal I had from the beginning. It can be done. But giving all your money to a church that you don’t hold accountable is not the answer, especially when you continue to struggle to cover recurring expenses. Take a step back and reassess things and focus on your priorities.
Thank you gir explaining this. Almost all churches quote from Malachi. I followed that scriptures for years. Then realized something was wrong. I wasnt making a lot of money, but I was tithing. Then I read 2 Corinthians, not the exact quote, but put aside as God has bless you at the bginning of the week. My bills were behind b/c I was listening to leadership. If leadership always says to give the 10% b/c it would be more than if a person just pay what you've been bless with at the beginning of the week. I really struggled with this. I prayed. 1st. I believe that the Holy Spirit to speak to each believer on theit own spiritual level.2. I believe that in my heart, that God loves a cheerful giver true, He also want a consistent giver. I may not be able to give the 10% every Sunday or the week I am paid, but i started paying a certsin amount that would not put me in financial stress. I shared my thoughts with a couple of ladies who were in the same situation as me and show them 2 Corinthians they just broke down and started crying. Church leaders put such a burden on members that it us sickening. We must kearn that what we do is to the honor and glory of God, not man. It is you that is going to have to stand before God fir yourself. Not church leadership. Seek God and He will provide you with "your" correct answer. It starts with your "personal" relationship with God. Be Bless.
Love this explanation. I go to a great church that practices giving tithes. I dont subsribe to the belief of tithing based upon my scriptual research. I do practice what Paul describes as cheerful giving. We as the body of Christ have to realize that those comfortable chairs or bench, the lights and that cool A.C dont pay for itself. We have a responsibility to assist financially with these things. Honestly it has liberated me to give more cheerfully when Im not threatened or intimidated by someone saying that im robbing God or stealing from Him by not tithing. That lie is from the pit of hell and as a church we need to do better with this tithing message. God bless 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I am living proof that God blesses those who don't obey the Tithing law. So if you wish to live by the law of Tithing, then you need to equally accept the curse that comes with it when you are unable to Tithe. Do not revive what Christ has already buried.

I must warn those of you who are telling believers NOT to tithe. Though tithing is not a heaven or hell issue, it is purposed for keeping believers out of worshipping Mammon. In Matt 23, Jesus was repremanding the Pharasees and scribes IN FRONT OF THE MULTITUDE AND HIS DISCIPLES (so what Jesus said was for everyone)...He said, Matt 23:23 KJV "....these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone." It should be clear that Jesus isn't teaching not to tithe; He's teaching us not to tithe WITH THE WRONG MOTIVES. The Pharasees were tithing to showboat, make others think they were more spiritual them. They had the wrong heart. Tithing is a way for the believer to acknowledge that EVERYTHING he has or produces COMES FROM GOD. It's a form of worship because worship is a lifestyle. The purpose of bringing up Malachi 3:10-11 is to understand the benefits of Tithing. Most do not preach/teach about Malachi 3:11, " And I (God) will rebuke the devourer for YOUR sakes, and he (the devourer, satan) shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts. " This is an area where God says He will rebuke satan for us. Any other area, we, as believers, are to rebuke him. Moreover, this is the one area God allows us to "test" Him. (Malachi 3:10KJV, "...prove me now herewith," NLV says "...Test Me in this...") Yes, no one should ever guilt or coerce any believer to tithe; but, no one should ever tell any believer NOT TO either. Your title to this message: Danger, DO NOT TITHE, is robbing believers of protection and blessings promised by God. Remember, Jesus was there when God spoke about tithing in Malachi 3 (John 1, "The Word was WITH God."
i'm glad you mentioned the part about being a cheerful giver and didn't just leave it at not being under compulsion because if we truly believe that God owns everything and that whatever we possess is really Him allowing us to be a good steward of, maybe we should keep ten percent...amen? Think about it...we can give a lot more than we do. It's just that we've become accustomed to eating well, dressing well, buying stuff we don't really need etc
It's so weird that this video came up on my feed, as I was praying about it on Sunday morning. There have been some disagreements between my wife and I on this, and I prayed as I was giving my tithe for wisdom and clarity; to see if God would change my heart or my wife's heart regarding this topic. And God answered by popping this video up. Thank you for the wisdom you've extended on this. I know my family will be able to give cheerfully with these instructions.
You are a true leader of your family, like the Bible says we’re supposed to be. You and your wife disagreed and you prayed about it, that’s a biblical example of a husband. Tithes is not money I pray that the Lord continues to deal with you on this issue
Watch Les Feldick he will help bring clarity to right division of the bible. All scripture is given for inspiration of God 1st Doctrine... Find out what your doctrine is for today and who is speaking to you in the bible. Context is important in the word if God... Corey is right...people want to benefit from you...but Apostle Paul says give what is purposed im your heart to give and cheerfully.
I'm noticing that more and more people are raising awareness about the tithe not being under the new covenant. This is good and should continue because I'm sure millions of people have been under the burden of compulsively giving tithe when they and their families had genuine needs going unmet.
This is not good teaching at all. Go back re-read The New Testament, starting with Saul turning into Paul. Great Great Teaching. Do you really want to keep your share of helping Jesus? That Church you attend, has bills. Just how do you think they get paid? If you dont trust your Pastor, get out of that Church. You are trusting Jesus with that money, not your Pastor. What he does with it, is God's business. You will be Blessed! But if hes doing wrong, he will get spanked in-front of everybody! Put your trust in Jesus.

Tithing ended with Jesus at the cross, and we are now His temple where He dwells by His Spirit. No more animal bloodshed, no more circumcision, no more priests, and therefore NO MORE TITHE. When Jesus says something is finished, what right do we have to continue it?
The Bible is one. The Old Testament is for our learning and is filled with teaching on tithes and offerings. Just because there is no official command to stop it or do sonething else doesn't mean we just stop it. Also Matt 23:23-we should continue to pay tithe but also abide by the weightier matters of the law. "These you ought to have done (i.e. tithe), without leaving the others undone (i.e. justice, mercy, and faith).

I don't give my money to these pastors 😂 I give my money to homeless shelters, domestic violence victims, foster kids, and elders. I give from my heart.
Tithing was before the law (Gen. 14:20), commanded under the law (Mal. 3:10), and commended under grace (Mat. 23:23). Its purpose is two-fold: (1) It demonstrates that God is preeminent in our lives, which is why it's off the top--first fruits. (2) It protects us from greed. Also, it's the only medium of exchange between God and man and is specifically designated for the house of God (Mal, 3:10). This error brings a curse ergo the saying, "mo money mo problems." However, the blessing of the Lord makes one rich and He adds no sorrow with it (Prov. 10:22). Here's why most people don't reap the benefits of the tithes: (1) It's not given with the right attitude--God blesses a cheerful giver. (2) It's not given specifically to the House of God, which is the Church of the Living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. The tithe is only given to the Church. It becomes a charitable donation when given to other institutions or individuals. (3) It's not given off the top--the first fruits of all your increase (Prov. 3:9-10). (4) It's not given consistently--which is a reflection of one faithfulness and commitment to God (1 Cor. 16:2; 2 Cor. 8:11-12; Prov. 3:9-10). Correct these things and all will go well! Remember: Jesus didn't do away with the law He fulfilled it.

@@THE.TRUTH7300 "UNTIL EVERYTHING IS ACCOMPLISHED" Are you saying the Mosaic Law is still in effect, and that Jesus did not fulfill it? Or, that Paul did not say "does He who provides you with the Spirit and works miracles among you, do it by works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?" Gal 3:5?
@@jamesnoggle2661 Dear Brother, Respectfully, please show me in the scriptures how THE BIBLE can say, until EVERYTHING is accomplished, and you only hear Mosaic Law? Does the bible give us any reference for "everything being accomplished" YES... The scriptures say for everything to be accomplished, Heaven and earth has to disappear. 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. **18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear**, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. That truly would be Everything. Please let me hear your position on Everything only consisting of only the Mosaic law. The 10 commandments were written under Mosaic, are they still in affect? Respectfully.
@@THE.TRUTH7300 Matthew 5:17 My understanding: The “everything” is the Law and the Prophets because that is the subject of His statement. “Until Heaven and earth pass away” means the Law & the Prophets will remain only “until all is accomplished” (NASB uses “all”) Jesus used the word "until" twice. The second use of it voids the first. When He said “it is finished,” it means he fulfilled them. The New cannot come until the Old is done away with. 2Cor. 3:10-14. No man had ever fulfilled the Law; only Jesus. We are not even to try (all of Galatians 3). If Jesus will not bless our attempts to keep the law (Gal. 3:5), why would it still be in effect? The moral aspect of the Ten Commandments are in effect, but the New Commandment ("Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind, and your neighbor as yourself, upon these two depend all the Law and the Prophets") fulfills them all. The Ten were on tablets of stone, but the new is written in our hearts. The New is better because the Old addressed the outward, but the New addresses the heart and is even more strict. Hatred=murder and lust=adultery. If a person favors the Ten Commandments over the new commandment, they must keep all ten, including the sabbath. I hope I have answered you well in the limited time and space I have. Respectfully!
Around 3:15 when you read the scripture of Jesus rebuking the scribes and Pharisees for prioritizing tithes over weightier things..the next verse Jesus said the first you ought to have done, and the last you should not have left undone. So he did not condemn nor command tithing, but seemed to encourage it along with the “weightier” things. But i would think just as other commandments he was doing away with, if tithing was not important or expected to do anymore, he would have said something to the effect of “the law commanded you to tithe, but I say unto you that is done away with”
@@timeday6420 I don’t have what the Pharisees had. My tenth is of the portion of provision God has given me. That was a different dispensation of time when they tithed things that they harvested and such. Even if a monetary tithe was not commanded or expected, a believer who honors God because he is the source/provider, would give generously out of his heart regularly. 🤷🏽♀️

I was in the ministry for 25 years, in my country and over seas as a missionary and I would always bring out Malachi 3, I believed it as I was taught. I was blessed and was grateful that God could use my life, etc, but in my heart I did have some questions about the way offerings were taken. It was a Sunday morn service and the speaker brought out Malachi 3 and when he proclaimed that I was "cursed with a curse" if I did not tithe, my spirit rebelled. That was the beginning of a journey to unlearn many of the things that I heard. Mostly the things that pertained to the Jews under the law, but not to me a gentile. Thankyou for your simple treatise on the subject.
Very good Word!! One tithe was to the priest, then the priest tithed to the levites-- Jesus is our High Priest AND has fulfilled ALL the law-- thank you Jesus!! It's very very hard to get people to understand that Jesus bought AND brought us out of tithe bondage!! Especially if they have been conditioned with-- You're robbing God OR you'd better tithe or God is gonna get you or God's going to put a curse on you!!
I hear you. I made the mistake of sharing my thoughts about the church going through the Great Tribulation, and was accused of wanting the church to experience the wrath of God, which I don't believe at all, but they wouldn't listen. "You really want Christians to be persecuted and die for their faith?" Well no, of course not, but that doesn't erase the historical fact that the church has gone through much tribulation since Jesus died on the cross, and many have been beaten, imprisoned, and killed for the sake of the gospel. The Great Tribulation is just a much worse period of the same thing, just before Jesus 2nd coming, during the time of the reign of the Anti-Christ. I have my reasons for believing in a post-tribulation rapture at Jesus one and only 2nd coming, but found out quickly that holding to such a belief in charismatic churches is sacrilegious to many who hold onto Darby's dispensation pre-trib rapture theory, and you will be branded a heretic and even accused of being a false Christian. They are so closed minded, it is frustrating. I mean, no matter what you believe, what God has planned will be carried out, whether it be a pre-, post- or even a mid-trib rapture. No matter which, it is still better to be prepared for whatever the future holds, than to argue and be divided over such doctrines. So it's better to be ready for a post-tribulation rapture, than be caught off-guard because you thought you would escape the greatest (world-wide) tribulation the church has or ever will ever go through. And yes, I do believe it is coming soon, within this Abrahamic generation (1948-2048).
@@Cmedic57 Rapture is one thing no one can agree on, also water baptism. Here's one you'd probably disagree with me on, I get flack from the church because they do public prayer which is fine if they want to but I choose not to and they try to urge me to participate. I tell them Jesus specifically says NOT to, He says to pray alone in your closet to the Father, not to be seen by man. There is no reward by the Father for public prayer, only intimate prayer to the Father is rewarded. People always wanna say nooo He just meant the Pharisees making a show of their prayer, which is part true. But that doesn't erase the fact He specifically says pray alone, in the closet, not to be seen by man. Anyways yea little doctrinal things like these will unfortunately divide up the church really easy.
My church does not ask for ridiculous amounts of money. They ask for as little as $1 or what you feel you can afford. They are clear what the money is for. No one in my church is rolling up in fancy cars or rolling in dough.

If tithing was kept in context, people would see that Tithing was for the Levites, not the saints Malachi 3:10 was referring to the priests in the temple they were stealing the crops that were supposed to feed the staff working God's temple God commanded the priests to give to avoid a curse, not believers. People bring up Cain and Abel Yes they gave as well but no particular amount was required Abraham gave war spoils to Melchizedek as a one time thing which was a tenth but God never Abraham to give nor was any future tithes given Apostle Paul said, "Gather a amt to give no tithe mentioned He also explained not to attempt to keep the law which was done away with when Christ died on the cross

I told my wife who told me go back and pray some more because we don't have enough money and that would make us have even less.

I feel like if Pastors preached and taught the Bible led by the Spirit, the members would want to give willingly, lovingly and cheerfully 😊❤️
Your statement is sooooo true!!!!!

Malachi 3 (Unedited)
8 Behold, ye wicked servants: Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? Ye have robbed me in the tithes and offerings that ye have taken of the people for yourselves.
9 And because ye have done this ye are cursed with a curse, and the windows of heaven have been closed so that ye receive no rain upon the earth, which would bring the good fruits of the field forth, even the fruit that giveth eternal life. But ye receive no rain, for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
The Sealed Portion Chapter 46
15 And Jesus began to teach the people that they should not support the church and its wickedness by the payment of tithes and offerings, but that they should give that which they could afford to the poor and those who have less than they do.
16 And Jesus condemned the rich and also the leaders of the church for the luxurious lifestyles that they lived, having received these things because of that which the people gave unto the church. 51 Yea, there are many of your churches that teach the words of Christ, even that ye should love your neighbor as yourself, but they do not require this thing of you to be a member in good standing in the church, because it is possible that ye can be a member of the church of the devil without obeying the commandments of the Lamb.
52And hath Jesus required of you that ye should pay unto his church tithes and offerings? I say unto you that he doth not, but hath commanded you to give unto the poor and those who are in need of your sustenance. And if ye believe that ye are giving of your money to the Lord, I say unto you, in what need is the Lord that he should want your money?
53And doth he command you to attend church and worship him in a synagogue and a temple that ye supposeth hath been dedicated to him? I say unto you that he doth not. But ye can worship him in your fields as ye reap and as ye sow. Ye can worship him on the street and in the places of your businesses and in all places where ye might be.

Tithing is not always giving to the church. It can be tithing to the homeless, family, or people in need, paying someone's rent/mortgage or utilities, car notes, etc., because they're in need.
Giving cash or food donations to the Salvation Army, local food banks, donating to Women Shelters, etc.

Exactly. You can't ever beat God giving. God is so merciful to us all. Not sure why people (professing believers) always target tithing as the first thing they want to get rid of when using their "freedom in Christ" not under the law.

I stopped with tithes many many years ago. With my tithes and offerings, I bless those with out. I noticed some churches have lavish things while the poor or their congregation has nothing. Also when a person has a need in a church, some churches do not help them and I find that very sad.
Tithe is extortion.
@@CivilOne20That's awful bruh
@Zoe-zq4xh very sad indeed. I haven't read anywhere in the Word of God where it says a person has to pay it back.
@@malachi9898 stop encouraging people to go under the law. Giving is new covenant. Tithing is old covenant, and Jesus fulfilled that for us.

What does 1/10 on gross come from?
I tithe one tenth on my gross income before taxes. I tithe the worth of substances like gifts, bonuses, and on my interest on bank accounts. If I happen to sell something that was paid by income that was tithed, I will pay tithe on the increase, only. I am live on social secuity with my wife. We tithe that income, too.

In the House of believers, first.

It is just recently that I have felt like God has been dealing with me to move away from the “you must give the first 10 percent” dogma that’s out there in so many Christian circles. I’m still on the journey, and this message has definitely helped. Thanks.
You’re on the right journey, get away from it, all the people who love tithing, they can’t even explain to you what it is.

NOT TRUE.....

You said that Sir. I'm in absolute agreement with you.
So that begs the question :
Why is God still blessing me when I don't Tithe anymore?
@@lancemarchetti8673Blessings are subjective. You're not supposed to tithe for blessings. You tithe out of obedience. Read Matthew 23:23. Jesus did say to tithe.

2.Was Jesus addressing the Pharisees during the Old or the New Covenant?

The guy said never come back to his church unless we had the money
We never went back.

Great point. These prosperity preachers like to preach "Give me all your riches because God said so. Just look at these tithing verses that ive twisted. Sorry you're poor, but pastor needs a new mercedes"
@@VictorianMaid99 Wow.

WHEN was the tithe EVER accepted as MONEY? No tithing teacher can EVER answer that question with scripture!!!
Whatever your increase is, is what you give in tithes. Since you earn money, you tithe money.
And I meant living under the Law, not loving.
Pay money all you want. You do not get points with God.

You could never go Wrong giving your all to God.

Did Jesus tithe or receive tithes?
Did the apostles of Christ (including Paul and Barnabas) tithe or receive tithes?
Did the Early Church tithe?
Did the priests of the Old Testament tithe?
Did the poor under the Law tithe or receive tithes?
Were fishermen or carpenters required to tithe in the Old Covenant?
If you had 9 oxen, were you required to tithe under the Law?
Did everybody tithe in the Old Covenant?
Please, give me chapter and verse for each question? Thank you.

I prayed 2 years ago for teaching that was without error and i found Les Feldick and dispensational bible teachings.
Many christians have spiritual integration because of bad doctrines and teaching.
I just subscribed to your channel because you teach truthful from the word.. Not like other preachers saying we need to tithe if we want to be blessed
Here's why most people don't reap the benefits of the tithes:
(1) It's not given with the right attitude--God blesses a cheerful giver.

@@THE.TRUTH7300 brother have you read my reply? I would like to continue this discussion via email. thanks
But i would think just as other commandments he was doing away with, if tithing was not important or expected to do anymore, he would have said something to the effect of “the law commanded you to tithe, but I say unto you that is done away with”
I like this!
did you all also notice Jesus never said they were tithing money,,,
go give your pastor what the parisee tithe
@@timeday6420 I don’t have what the Pharisees had. My tenth is of the portion of provision God has given me. That was a different dispensation of time when they tithed things that they harvested and such. Even if a monetary tithe was not commanded or expected, a believer who honors God because he is the source/provider, would give generously out of his heart regularly. 🤷🏽♀️
@@sistertujuana4834 you can give what you want and i glad you give that not the point many have been beating up and ran out of church over the tithe they were told they were robbing God ,, which is a lie were free to give what we want period no games no word plays no if you love God or if any thing Paul did not use anything like this period your free to give what you want and the next sheeo can give what they want with zero guilt can i ask you do you or your pastor or abey the law of Moses on the tithe??????

Luke 11:42 Cev Bible -You Pharisees are in for trouble! You give God a tenth of the spices from your gardens, such as mint and rue. But you cheat people, and you don't love God. You should be fair and kind to others and (still give a tenth to God).
Luke 11:42 NLV - “It is bad for you, proud religious law-keepers! You give (one-tenth) part of your spices. But you give no thought to what is right and to the love of God. (You should do both of these).
Luke 11:42 Niv- Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. (You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone). (Still do Both)
Luke 11:42 kjv-But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: (these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone). (Still do both)
Leviticus 27:30 kjv- And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: (it is holy unto the LORD)
Tithing is in the NEW TESTAMENT ALSO! IT NEVER STOPPED. KING JESUS NEVER TOLD HIS DISCIPLES TO STOP TITHING! AND THE TITHE IS NOT JUST MONEY AS LEVITICUS STATES! YOU CAN ALSO GIVE FOOD TO THE NEEDY AS A TITHE. You are being misinformed by this guy. He needs understanding before guiding others (immediately).
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob all tithed as well! We are the children / seed of Abraham and we should also be doing the works of Abraham which includes tithing to God. (John 8:39).
I let the Holy Spirit put on my heart when and what to give. I have Liberty in this.
We have to mention that we can give to the mother in the check out line by paying for her groceries or taking care of the elderly or cleaning and cooking for them... So many ways to give i dont know how it became all about money.
Shared this truth many years ago and I got so much push back it was ridiculous 😤 Thanks for teaching on this topic 👏

It's sad that many christians fail to accept the fact The Christ fulfilled all the requirements of the laws on the cross. I support my chruch put it's an offering. This is ironically is the only thing under the law preach insists that their congregation heed to. I accept be save by grace trying to live by the 613 laws daily I'm sure as I many can't do

I give 10 percent since I came back to Church after 20 years of absence from going to Church God blesses me every month so he let's me know I'm doing a good thing
I havent been able to pay my tithes since last November.I had knee replacement surgery last April and i had to stop working .Im 69 and on a fixed income now. My bills exceed my income , so i dont get enough money to pay all my blls each month. I do pay a small offering every Sunday cause thats the best i can do right now. Good video @Smartchristianschannel (Bro. Corey)! I was paying tithes earlier this year until I heard Robert Breaker teach on this subject. From there the scriptures confirm that we are not under the law, but Grace. So no need for the tithe, just cheerfully give as you purpose within your heart! Amen.
Why give at all? Don't kill, steal, lie, cheat, commit adultery are all Laws; are u under grace to break those? So trample over the part of God's Law you don't like and call it grace????🤔
