@justin leckey nope the colonial navy just before the second Cylons war. nothing like massively cutting down your navy and leaving it with fully networked systems that you know the only known threat to your people could break into any network you had before while the new networks are still less advanced and protected then the originals then when you last encountered them not to mention that it's filled with enemy agents they knew nothing about even though they all look the same with only seven different variants. they are the best navy xD

Star Destroyers are like battleships from the battleship era. Both of them have overwhelming firepower, but they are not very maneuverable; the ships can't exactly turn on a dime. In the battleship era, battleships have heavy cruisers, which are very fast and very maneuverable, as well as escorts like destroyers and frigate for scouting and supporting roles for the battleships. It is these ships that set up the battle for the battleships by searching targets for them to engage. So, in the real we world battleship era, these fleets have more cruisers and escorts than battleships and battlecruisers. For example, during the Battle of Jutland, out pf the 151 ships in the British Grand Fleet, there were only 27 battleships and 9 battldlecruisers. Out of the 99 ships in the German High Fleet, there were only 15 battleships, 5 battlecruisers and 9 pre dreadnought. Sort of equivalent to an older pre imperial class star destroyers.

The Empire... on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being worst and 1 being best... They'd really be at about a 5. They had a lot of power and a lot of ships. Within the scope of the Tarkin Doctrine, they could frighten a great many systems into supporting them... if for awhile. And within a battle situation, if the Rebel Alliance were to actively engage the Empire it would have lost in the long run, mostly due to how much the Rebellion survived on defectors and either ships stolen or converted... That's an impressive amount of power.
However, what holds the Empire down is that between poor leadership, corruption, and ultimately the size of the Empire really hurt it and hurt it badly. The Empire could present a credible threat to the Rebel Alliance, but the number of times it was able to catch the Rebels is rather limited, which in turn let them grow stronger and gain experience as well, which would in turn better allow them to capitalize on technological weaknesses that the Empire had. It's why the Battle of Endor was set up as a trap. The Empire couldn't catch or trap the Rebellion on a reliable basis... as Mothma says, "With the Imperial fleet spread throughout the galaxy in a vain effort to engage us..." and needed to present something that the Rebels couldn't ignore...
And by the Battle of Endor, the Rebel Alliance wasn't the ragtag group of fighters, converted freighters, and corvettes with little to no military training. It had some capital ships, excellent starfighters, and powerful motivating factors, all of which played to the Imperial defeat at Endor. In this the Imperial Navy was good to a point, but it couldn't get past that point.

Really wish you guys would do this kind of series on some of the book series navies. I think it would be interesting to see how you compare Honor Harrington's Navy to something like the Imperial Navy (40K or SW). Then there's also navies like from Mutineer's Moon (the Dahak Series), Macross, The Xelee Sequence, The Culture Series. and a number of others, but those are the big ones, imo.

It seems to me that the greatest problem with the Empire was Emperor Palpatine and Grand Moff Tarkin both of whom seemed to think that ruling through fear alone and treating those below them as animals to be beaten whenever they acted up even slightly was the solution to everything. Even after they died, too many Imperials still had this mindset which is why the Rebels gained so much ground so fast in both Star Wars timelines.
In contrast, when Imperials like Thrawn were calling the shots, the Empire ran more smoothly and effectively not to mention won more often even when outnumbered and outgunned.
Something else I've noticed is that the Imperial Navy seems to be designed to take on an enemy space navy of comparable size and since in Legends, Palpatine, Thrawn and others knew about the incoming Yuuzhan Vong, it seems to me like the Imperial Navy's build was so that by the time the Vong turned up, the Imperial Navy and Army could brutally crush them. The Empire however didn't count on the Rebels mucking up their plans.....

At the end of the day, comic book writers don't have a clue what military doctrine is, so cannot create good navies.. Also Star Wars is NOT science fiction... It is magic fiction... Magic fiction has ZERO logic behind it (and thus zero science)... Worthy of being created by women if I may say so myself.. :)). Kinda like Super-man.. Wait... thats another comic book writer creation... But yeah, is there some kinda filter we can pass these comics through so they can be labeled a "real" Sci fi? The Expanse, Babylon V, Battlestar Galactic (especially the reimagined), all these are great Sci-fi universes, even Stargate isn't too bad.. The Mass Effect universe??
I mean seriously.. We are at the stage now where we are breaking down imagined space-craft and armies that were somehow totally 100 competent "off screen" in building these incredible feats of engineering, but then somehow turned totally INCAPABLE they moment they get "on screen" at military tactical and strategy maneuvering... Sounds like leftist propaganda to me.. :)). Giant star destroyers crashing together... Massive fleets of carrier class capital ships that have ZERO fighter screens deployed and simply let enemy combat craft fly right up to them and demand to speak to their commander... WTF... Name one real world carrier battle group that would have that happen....
Its like basically the craft were created BEFORE the tactics were evolved to require them... And this just goes on and on in Star War. Lasers that don't move at the speed of light (Then its not a laser). Superior AI systems, yet starships don't use radar or laser guided tracking and fire control systems.... I mean, honestly.. Are we supposed to take this shite so seriously, that we sit down and create videos discussing them??

Something that is likely lost on people at the start but the Empire also was restricted on how many forces they could move, because if they had moved more forces the rebels might have noticed a large amount of imperial ships missing, and known it was a trap before the reveal.
Considering the speed of which the imperials could deploy all over the galaxy it is strange that they required so many ships to keep the peace.

The “Death Star created more rebels” is questionable I think. The Rebel Alliance was already in the fight by necessity after Scariff but was shown very close to faltering in light of the reality of the Death Star. Sure the Death Star may have created more resentment but I doubt that any rebellion would have had any kind of chance had the Death Star survived Yavin

And honestly, the ranges that daedalus likes fighting in would put imperial navy at a disadvantage as decided that turrets are no good ( for some reason) and such has limited arcs of fire. And the daedalus has a pretty darn fast and precise FTL capabilities.

Further series beyond the Super soldiers one you'll be doing.
Best commanders/leaders: Colonial Marines and Starship Troopers were let down by their commanding officers in first engagements, and really, so were the Clones. It's just that their officers could fight, so they win on combat ability (being Jedi) but lose as leaders and tacticians (probably the worst as they didn't even follow basic military protocol "Take cover!"). The RDA however get bonus points for Colonel Quaritch, the patron saint of Humanity Fuck Yeah!. He was just let down by traitors, including a uploaded scientist in a planetary consciousness.
Most Adaptable (this can be combined with best leaders as another criteria): The factions that change and evolve to deal with the types on enemies, you'll have to go into the lore on this into comics, books, ect as the main story is usually a film or two.
Imperial Guard lose on this, they haven't changed for millennia, but then they are already optimised for their foes and they exist in a stagnant universe where technological innovation is going backward and entropy is expanding. It could be argued that they don't need to change.
HALO, they adapted from being curbstomped to winning, and reverse engineered a lot of stuff.
Starship Troopers, the same (except no reverse engineering), and if you include the later anime or even (shudder) the original novel the power creep is awesome as they go from last to first in combat effectiveness without the guide of alien technology to copy.
The Colonial Marines are pretty good, read Alien Tribes and the sequels, they use some serious power armour with drugged psychos permanently inside and they have anti Xeno gear like alkaline containing bullets to neutralize the acid blood so that the floor and the marine if close don't get melted, besides it really puts down the Xeno fast as its poison to them (plus acid resistant armour). And their tactics are ruthless and pragmatic. The golden age of Alien spinoffs is after Aliens (Alien 2) based on the assumption that Ripley came back and let the cat out of the shipping crate.
The Clones …meh, they do get better and develop some new toys like EMP, but don't use them to their fullest. Their commanders improve and they get battle hardened, but really they were hamstrung by behind the scenes machinations.
The RDA, no information, and unless the sequels are "We're back, and we brought the actual military" (there is a fanfic about this), it's going to be more anti human propaganda [probably a Romulan plot]. As a side note with the lower gravity on Pandora wearing full heavy combat armour (with cooling) with a sealed helmet wouldn't have been a strain on the soldiers. Include a HUD with enhanced sensors with IFF and target acquisition and combat effectiveness goes way up. And seriously, light assault weapons like SMG's? They could carry high caliber guns with a lot of ammo and still not get fatigued by combat load marching. Now they could have used the Colonial Marine's Smartgun effectively.
Best/Worse Plot Amour: The RDA really take the bullet, or arrow, on this one. They were winning till the local wildlife jumped into the fray.
Who'd have thought that after being such a hero to Humanity, willing to sacrifice herself (and eventually Paris with the crash of the Auriga) to save Earth, that Ellen Ripley would turn on us like that?

Well that wouldn't really be fair to SW at least - the DOnnager class can straight up murder an ISD by bombarding it with torpedoes and then railguns, while the ISD's onyl means of returning any sort of meaningful fire - TIE fighters and TIE bombers - are laughably ineffective against Donnager class's state of the art PDCs. Hell, their CQB is so much beyond the max range of SW ships we see in Clone Wars that they don't even bother firing at the sorts of ranges the torpedoes stop being effective because it's just too close. Also from Clone Wars (and the original trilogy, and TLJ pleasedon'tkillme) we see SW shields being worth jack-all against fighters and KKVs.

Well we need to see how effective the plasma torpedoes are against the ISD's shields. Turbo lasers are plasma and when a plasma torpedo explodes in the expanse it does spread around a couple dozen of meters but not as concentrated as a turbo laser. If the Plasma torpedo can do major damage to shields then it is possible to deal with ISD if not, it could cause a fleet of martians an UN forces to use up a good part their torpedoes befor the shields go down.

    • @EgorKaskader
      @EgorKaskader 5 років тому +3

@@mill2712 that's the fun part, the torpedo has to pen the shield, not the plasma cloud generated by the detonation. Also, while they do use plasma torps against the Donnager (and we see how brutally effective it is based on one of the Amun-Ras that get a direct hit) and the Donnager tanks them like a champ, plasma warheads are far from the only torpedo type you can fire. We also see how powerful the Donnager's railgun is when it hits another Amun-Ra class head-on and straight up blows the ship to bits in a single hit. Remember, that is a small, actively evading target, from about a thousand KM away. At that range they could cherrypick what to shoot off from the ISD on this firing cycle.
EDIT: Even the much weaker Amun Ra's railgun blows clean through the Donnager, eventually killing her main reactor, and even a glancing hit comes close to ripping Rocinante in two at Thoth station, so much so it's explicitly stated "We let that thing take one more clear shot at us, it's gonna cut us in half".

I have seen my fair share of other multiversal Space Navies everywhere i go.
The *Unionwealth Empire* can have their fair share of shuttle sized gunships to continent size Battle-cruisers to Moon sized Battle-Spheres except without the giant laser of doom attached to them, and then came some planet size Dreadnought Cruisers to Solar system sized Juggernaut Dreadnoughts to finally, which i can't believe they actually made it after expanding through hundreds if not thousands of galaxies is a galaxy sized Ark Station which can also houses thousands of artificial planets inside and it just blows my mind how much they can learn to do the impossible!
As for their arch-rivals, the *Cosmowealth Federation* also kinda copies the same ship types as the Unionwealth, but most of them always have the knack to attach massive battering spiky rams in front of their ships if shooting them from a distance wasn't enough, and since they don't have the resources to build their own Ark Station, they kinda went on to build some High Long-ranged gigantic Plasma Beam Cannons the size of a Solar System to target some of the Unionwealth's Ark Stations.
For the *Cyberian Union* , they seems to have a big fascinations with creating Sun sized Battle-Spheres that always comes with support ships everytime they had to build one from scratch, and their armored Star Cruisers don't fuck around with their intense Blue Sun powered plasma weapons, and don't get me started on how efficient they are when it comes to recycling destroyed Battle-Cruisers to save up some time and space for their already massive multiversal violent cyborg army.
Then came the *Warped Fragments* , and i must say they have some of the most bizarre ways to fight the enemy space navies.
Well for one, the Omniverse is pretty much an endless horizon of unexplored areas of the far Cosmos and let's just say there is a lot of dark Cosmos everywhere i looked around, and the Warped Fragments themselves harnesses their power from this deepest dark corners of the endless space plus making those dark spots their home dwellings.
What scares me about the Warped Fragments is that they can pretty much appear out of nowhere when you and your fleet were just drifting around in space by either opening up a hole in Space Time Continuum and rushes at you like millions of flies armed with adamantium claws or some can camouflage themselves into complete darkness to make it look like you are just looking at an empty black spaces of the Cosmos.
When was the last time a Warped Titan suddenly appeared of the darkness and bitch-slapped a continent sized Unionwealth Battle-Cruiser out of nowhere? Well, that is currently one of their favorite tactics when it comes to ambushing their opposing prey.
As much as i admit it, all four Factions are not that hungry for war from to time except for the *Cyberian Union* and the *Warped Fragments.*
All four would rather spread their territories that resulted in them having some galactic scale battles from here and there or interstellar skirmishes everywhere i go in order to claim whatever areas they can go to.
Oh great, the Warped Fragments are here again due to the fact i can hear their soul-chilling psychotic laughs that echoes around me...

there might be an advantages video coming but I feel the need to clarify why I'll be voting for this navy higher than the imperium of man. Having a faster ftl helps a lot, especially with establishing communications and logistics, with specialized equipment able to have instantaneous hologram conversations from the core of the Galaxy all the way to the outer rim. Also, people seriously underestimate their industrial output. it took them decades to build the first star destroyer, but that's because they were working out all the kinks. when they have the experience of the first, the second is being built in a fraction of the time despite being larger without making a dent in the number of other starships already being produced, and this was without them being in a state of total war as the imperium of man often is. as for firepower, they know how to make planetbusters, the only reason they limit the firepower on their starships is because they don't feel the need to use anything that hits harder, seeing it as overkill and perhaps a headache In logistics better ignored. should they be faced with a greater enemy that requires more firepower per shot they have the capacity for it in every field. Lastly if pressed they are very technologically flexible, able to approach a problem from a variety of angles when it comes to offensive and defensive tech. Should they have the need there is nothing stopping them from making whole fleets of custom warships for a single threat, unlike the imperium of man who often needs to consider each ship's usefulness after a war since they want each ship to be used for centuries or millennia.

5:00 Tarkin doctrine was more or less successful in preventing large scale uprisings, so it wasn't useless. However implementation of such doctrine had serious flaws - besides fear it should promote loyalty towards Empire - even by reducing anti alien propaganda or giving certain group of aliens imperial citizenship equal to humans
5:30 From Core to Mid Rim you had many planets with planetary shields, that couldn't be threatened by just ISDs (and sieging these planets would be pain in the butt) so they needed "a bigger gun" to keep moffs and governors of key systems in check - and while it was good to have some power margin (to counter increasing power of shields - in R1 it penetrated shield on Scarif), full power shot wasn't that useful. Also destroying Alderaan was definitely fault that Emperor would kill Tarkin if he survived long enough after that
6:20 ISD issue was "too late for Clone Wars" where they could shine destroying CIS capital vessels. And while local defence forces had only smaller vessels, many system had also fortifications like planetary shield generators or platforms like Golan series. Another issue was operational range of these vessels. About bridge - it's very small target comparing to rest of the ship and when doing its intended job it wasn't an issue - especially comparing to Venator bridge, that was far more vulnerable to same damage. And there were secondary or even tertiary bridges in ISD or SSD designs
7:43 like any non homing projectile when shooting at long distances
8:05 Or just pre Clone Wars TLs were weaker than their post CW counterparts and CIS had most of missile producing facilities?
8:45 there were many sizes of such devices, so one or two fighter torpedoes were not as dreadful than heavy torpedo launchers on Golan, Torpedo Sphere (designed to tear apart planetary shields, somewhat lil DS) or capital grade missile launchers on Victory I
9:30 they were sure that nothing will scratch their toy and besides Vader squadron no DS based fighters were launched - why risk losing pilots and crafts when your defences are impregnable?
10:30 While competition is good, I agree that imperial academies went too far. But knowing that they were also where future governors and moffs are training, it's not surprising

Fair enough, then I guess there would be a more reasonable challenge. With the scope of combat being solar systems large, mine fields being implemented upon a third dimensional plane, the utilization of planetary spheres for concealing and maneuvering. The utilization of short, medium, and long ranges, I would have to say the only Sci Fi universe that I have ever seen go into as much strategic in depth as Warhammer 40k and the Horus Heresy (which I guess are just as drastically as different as the old republic with the galactic civil war in a way) would have to be "The Expanse".
Simply put, the two American Super Powers of Sci Fi (Star Wars and Star Treck) Focus deeply on what can be considered old naval doctrines of WWII. Where Star Wars is relatable to the battles in the Pacific between battle fleets and aircraft carriers, Star Treck is more relatable to submarine warfare.
Warhammer 40k and the Expanse relate to more adaptable, expansive, and varrying forms of combat. Where Warhammer 40k is, well, Warhammer 40k; The Expanse relates in its war doctorine to the 40k Universe with its concepts of engagement. Smart ballistics for targets beyond the range of dumb weaponry. Smart ballistics can be guided warheads of rockets and/or torpedoes. You get into mid range, and it all becomes about the three laws of Newton. Mass of target, velocity of target, velocity of round, predicting where target will be minutes or seconds after firing projectiles near the speed of light. And then finally, the meat grinder at point blank range. Combined with spinal weaponry, a true understanding of escorts, interceptors, bombers, boarding craft in the shapes of junk, torpedoes, or shuttles. Both universes truly replicate a true in depth view of what naval combat just might be like.
Well... Excluding the fact that Warhammer's ships are created with a concept of artificial gravity (a problem across the entire genera of sci fi ships) so all the cool stuff is on top, and no one cares about the bottom. >.<
TLDR, In my opinion, Warhammer 40k and the Expanse should probably be recognized and upvoted greatly due to the fact that they do space combat right; in a realistically strategic and tactically sound way.

You know what, I cant believe I'm doing this, but I'm going to defend the Death Star's lack of an escort fleet.
In Rogue One, Vader more or less wiped out the Rebel fleet, so their home base was undefended, and time was of the essence to blow them up before they could evacuate. Additionally, the DS had an escort fleet while under construction, but arrived at Scariff alone. Perhaps it has a faster hyperdrive than a Star Destroyer?
Given such information, it makes sense that the DS would be deployed to Yavin ASAP, as it would beat the local SDs there and prevent the Rebel high command from escaping.
After all, bar a few snub fighters armed with munitions that barely scratch the surface of the station when not shot in a very specific flaw (that no one in the Empire knew about), the DS had nothing to fear.
In fact, they would have won outright had they just deployed their fighters at the start (a critical oversight the First Order seems to have inherited).

      @Toxichobbit. 5 років тому +2

@@adamkiraly9805 the Imperial Navy mostly operates on it's own. The Mechanicus isn't subserviant to the Navy and while a degree of cooperation exists, this is mainly on the mico level, with Mechanicus crew maintainting Navy ships. Actual Mechanicus ships tend to be out on missions relevant to Mechanicus interests, which rarely align with Navy interests, because one operates as a traditional navy, in the role of defence and power projection while the other focuses on exploration and recovery of technology. Astartes also rarely combine their forces with Navy. While they might be operating in the same system or even in the same engagement, Astartes tend to have their own objectives. Their fleet assets are designed for breaking through blockades, delivering assault forces (whether to a planet, space station or enemy ships) and then providing support to those ground forces, rather than engaging opposing fleet assets.
That's not to say that neither the Mechanicus nor Astartes are capable of operating in fleet level engagements, nor to say that they don't operate alongside, in support or supported by the Imperial Navy. But it's the exception, not the norm. Unless of course, you want to convince me that the Astartes and Mechanicus have enough naval assets to take part in the routine patrols, defensive actions, numerous pirate hunts and crusades etc that makes up the majority of the Navy's engagements? For every Battle of Armageddon or Fall of Cadia where massive combined Imperial fleets operate together, there's hundreds of smaller engagements prosecuted solely by Navy assets. You just don't read about them very often because they are trivial and mundane compared to the big exciting battles.

Not to mention dozens of older battlcruisers (usually in the 6-8 km range). Not to mention the difference in construction time as the ships of the IoM take anywhere from decades to centuries to build, while GE dreadnaughts took a few years to build and Star Destroyers were pumped out fairly fast, with 25,000 being pumped out in it’s first 19 years. While the IoM would have short term numerical superiority it wouldn’t be able to effectively wield it as the GE would be essentially everywhere at once, and would have the long term production advantage

coldlizard 2 I am aware that by size alone the ISD’s would be counted as escorts, but for their size they have an armament that rivals and surpasses many light cruisers. While the Imperium has the advantage of range this advantage is completely negated by the fact that GE ships would be fighting virtually point blank and can get into that range instantly due to their FTL. IoM main weapons batteries are ill suited to such close quarter fighting as most macro batteries have a narrow firing ark at close range due to the broadside style gun arrangement. 40 K point defense is still “point defense” as in meant to engage strike craft at kilometers away and they still leave many areas uncovered immediately surrounding the ship, and while Void Fighters in 40k are superior individually to any fighter in the Empire’s arsenal, they are NOT dog fighters being more closely related to modern fighter aircraf, again shifting the balance of power not due to poor design but differences in doctrine, and while flimsy Tie Fighters do have powerful laser cannons and when fighting in trios can overload even the heaviest of armor by concentrating fire on the same point. Also IoM ships, unlike GE ships, usually forgo strike craft, and task forces often have maybe 1 dedicated carrier, which is unfortunate because more fighters could very well help defend a task force’s blind spots. Additionally micro-warp jumps are almost never risked in cannon 40k due to the inherent risks to the point where I have yet to find examples of it outside Battlefleet Gothic. While perfectly sensible for the fights the Imperium usually finds itself in they would be near useless at defending an enemy that gets the advantage of choosing where they jump in so precisely, meaning GE ships have the perfect means of dictating the initial deployment and avoiding main battery weapons arc’s. Saying the relatively small amount of ships at Endor indicates a general weakness completely misses the context of the operation. The Empire was luring the Rebels into a trap and had to make the bait convincing, and if ships started disappearing around the galaxy the Alliance intelligence would have caught wind and the attack may have been postponed, not to mention the Imperials quite logically assumed that the Rebels would be overwhelmed by both the Death Star’s firepower and Imperial fleet, which itself outmatched the Rebels and should have been more than enough to destroy them. Additionally the GE is made up of 1.67 million worlds, over one and a half times as large as the IoM, with a much higher population density (100 quadrillion to 4 quadrillion sentient beings). We’ve seen upwards of 10,000 ships be deployed at the battle of Coruscant with upwards of a million ships at the final battle of the Yuuzhan bong war, proving that the SW galaxy, when it has reason to, is perfectly capable of mass militarization when faced with an existential threat. Ironically enough the Imperium or Yuuzhan Vong would have likely saved the Empire by giving it the one thing it lacked that caused it to fracture; justification. The Empire might not have treated non-humans too great, but when videos of the Imperium Purging an alien outer-rim world flood the holonet, suddenly the most problematic part of the population becomes the most dedicated to winning. On the other hand a human Empire with markedly higher standards of living without a repressive theocracy would be enough to spring rebellions like daisies both on the front line and within the imperium as Imperial infiltrators spread propaganda. Hell I’d say Guilliman himself would be tempted to switch sides as he LOATHES the current imperium and Ultramar is arguably closer to the Empire than most of the Imperium. I also haven’t even touched on the ridiculous amount of super weapons the Empire has at its disposal. On the topic of teleportation there seems to be a general lore consensus that teleportation within a shielded target, even if the shield is not a void shield, is impossible. Additionally the existence of planet busting torpedos isn’t necessary in the GE, as a single ISD can raise a planet through it’s conventional weapons within a day, and unlike the IoM they don’t have to deal with warp taints meaning that it often is not worth it to raise a planet, and Nova Cannons are useless within the context of such close quarter fighting.

Before people jump on the Star War vs 40k fight, know that in 40k, the smallest Imperial Navy ship class is Star Destroyer in size. Also most planet in Star War seem to have at most 2 to 3 small "city". Hell taking over a planet most of the time just seem like take 2 to 3 cities and the whole planet is done. Taking a Hive city in 40k is a monumental effort involved years of siege and manpower. If you take into consideration Hive World then the cost gonna be worse. In 40k, even Battleship class which are at least 10km long wouldn't want to duel with planetary defense cannon so ever fight for the planet would turn into a siege and attrition warfare. Arch Warhammer is currently doing a series on a siege of Vrak which is a small storage and fortress world. Check it out if you want to feel the scale the Warhammer usually go for. Also Vrak only has 1 large hive cities so in it setting it is similar to most Star War planets.

The 40k navy’s is a bad idea to compare as alone the imperial navy has ships much larger than a super star destroyer for comparison a Gloriana class ship is huge & if I'm correct is just over 16 miles long to the executor galactic empire super star destroyer at just over 10 miles. The inquisition alone can exterminate a planet with a small group of ships & that would be equivalent to the rebel alliance at endor, now imagine an 40k imperial navy formation that would be much larger supported by escort ships. Long story short 40k would win hands down , think of Mohammed Ali vs a 90 year old woman that’s what you would be comparing. You could do the videos & not put them into the vote but you made the right decision with the space marines unfortunately this is the same situation. I wound love to see you do a comparison on 40k fleets individually in the same vein of thought of this though.

I give the Empire 3rd place, at best, and that's only because of their large number of ships, capital and fighter class, and the fact that they have shielding.
