I went for the RetraxPro MX on my 22 Silverado refresh. It was easy to install, looks great, and no complicated wiring to install. I didn’t want to spend really $3000 USD for a cover. It works flawlessly. Couldn’t be happier and it was $1800 USD plus tax.
I have the same cover and love it. They also have an XR version which has the T rail track for adding accessories. They have a power version too, but I didn't want the hassle of wiring and something else to go wrong/bad with the truck. This EGR one has WAY too many holes that need to be drilled!
@@FastSS02 the EGR is nice. Just too much complexity to install. The other thing I don’t like is drilling holes in my truck. If you ever decide to change the cover, you’re stuck with holes.
The RetraxPro leaks! I have it and am tired of everything in my bed being soaked every time it storms. My truck is kept outside and we get a lot over overnight rain. I have to unload the bed every night to keep all my gear dry. Other than that, the RetraxPro is a well made cover.

Been waiting for this video! I know this must have taken a while to put together, but thank you! It looks/works great!🎉 Your videos are so detailed and well explained. That is truly the best cover I've seen. The cab looks great too. Love how the family pitched in to help. I'd bet if you had a diesel there would not be as much room as with that 6.2, can see all the way to the floor. Love ❤ the gas trucks! Oh and the sound of your truck is impressive. The little things in life make every day bearable. Love your stuff. ✌️out.
I'm back! Got my cover and started the install. Apologies for the wall of text/questions. I'm currently on electrical: Did you have to remove your battery to cut that nipple from the firewall plug and pass through your wiring the first time? In the video you already had that aux wiring as a guide but there's no way I can get my hands/arms in there from what I can tell. Their video looks like they completely removed the battery, but wasn't sure if that was just to get a clearer shot of that step or if it was necessary. And then, for passing through the wire, did you use the old "coat hanger" trick the first time? Finally, I removed some of that sound deadening from the passenger side under the glove box, but I'm a big guy and can't see the other side of that plug the wires will come through--there's also a lot of electrical in the way from what I can tell. Any hints about getting it through or seeing it? Same with going from the passenger side to the driver side at the front of the console, any hints? Finally, did you go above or behind your brake pedal with the wiring? It looks like I have to go in front of it, but wasn't sure if I should leave enough slack in case I ever have to remove the brake pedal. I noticed in their install video, they completely removed the brake pedal from the truck.
Figured out some of my issues. 2024s are different than 2023s. There's a computer in front of the firewall opening, and the rubber plug is different as well. Now I just have to deal with the wiring.

Okay, I don’t feel the statement was clickbait. In my opinion the cover needed to be installed to fully describe the features.
You have to sponsored to be able to put one of these on. Way to expensive cheaper to hire a guy from Home Depot to flip mine over.
Some people want these upgrades and they do have non-electric versions that will give you all of the same benefits for a lower cost.
That’s way too much drilling for my taste
Hell no. Lost me and drilling
Not a project for everyone
Not for 3k too much
They are a premium product for a premium price
Sorry anything that sticks above factory bed caps is just cheesy
Sometimes a necessity if you are adding functional racks or accessories to be secure over the bed
Seems OVERLY Complicated, and moves much slower than a cover that manually rolls up for 1/2 the price.
I’m loving it. No more flipping or sliding. Just press a button and it seals up - Locked. It is one of the most expensive covers out there though
Nope
🤷🏻♂️
This guy has a 3 foot bed and takes up a foot of it with some gadgety cover that will fail in less than a year.
5’8” to be exact and I have another truck with a 6ft box and a 12ft enclosed tandem cargo trailer so I’ll be alright
Tonneau covers suck in general. You're just adding another point of failure.
I have had 6 trucks with them over the years and always preferred having one vs not. I don’t think I’m alone especially when hauling things of value
Junk, shouldn’t have to drill anything. Guaranteed to rust where drilled.
Harsh 😊
Ya il pass the idea it does not totally open the whole bed not to mention drilling holes in my new truck for drainage turns me right off. I refuse to drill holes adds to leaking problems down the rode. Not to mention the electronics to open and close this I can just see more problems. Cool but not necessary. I can see this not working in the northeast or any snowbelt down the road. Thanks but no thanks. I can amagine the cost for this baby. Il stick to a hard shell manual mode with pre installed drained hoses into the already holes in my bed. That's what I installed in my Dakota. But to each there own.
