The Kaizo Mario genre as a whole, while heartlessly brutal and frustrating, is one the most rewarding experiences you'll find in all of gaming. It's all about challenging yourself through high speed puzzle solving. Trust me, there's no high quite like finally beating that level you've been grinding for hours and hours. You're gonna die and gonna die a lot. You gotta be okay with that; if not, this genre is not for you. Even the best players in the world can take hours to make it through their first time, so don't get disheartened. Perseverance and persistence will inevitably win the day! You'll die less often as time goes on and your skill increases, but if you're genuinely not having fun, then stop torturing yourself. It's okay; it's not for everyone. I'd say levels 2, 3 & 4 could be potentially RTA viable with enough practice. Everything else, not so much. Most of the run comes down to simply not dying. If one were to perform a deathless run, they would most certainly get the world record. So far, no speed runner has managed to accomplish this.
@@TheUltimateRare the original game doesnt have that happen because all songs needed are already loaded. They dont take up that much space. Level songs, overworld songs, and end credits are all separate though, but we dont see the game "freezing" because the screen is black. Called "banks". These are 3 banks. When adding custom music, it no longer works like that. The only songs that are ALWAYS loaded, no matter if you are in a level, overworld, etc, are "global" songs, like Death, P-Switch, Starman, Level win, Boss win, keyhole, game over... Every other songs are all seperate. So if another songs start, it will hang for a bit. This song here could be placed in the "global songs" list, but it would take up a lot of memory. Especially with high-quality samples used here.
I love this so much
Even for a TAS this had some wild strats
Holy cow, they managed to sequence Passion Pit on a SNES.
But for some reason it halts the entire game.

what a masterpiece - nice color patterns and custom music
this has confirmed to me that "love in the time of lexapro" is one of the funniest things anyone has ever named one of their songs
The Reeling is such a bop actually
Soundtrack is so deep and good :)

Thought that was Chon, never confirmed it. Thanks guy!

The fact that kezcade pulled the shell grab off.
Love the Oneohtrix songs
love the blind run from 7:23
the ghost room made me gasp out loud
I found it interesting that some music songs were synthetically recreated on the snes😁
The legend is back :")
The legend was never gone

This is the math rock of kaizo lol
wow. this is crazy
The dreaded Casiooooo people have lost their minds playing it puzzles.
Amazing hack & game play.
Some music is kinda weird, but it's overall really pleasant.
if you liked the music, you should check out Oneohtrix Point Never's discography (most of the OST of this romhack is his work), it's really good
That time they played a hack, only to get a copyright claim, just because of one single song!
opn in a smw hack...
OHHHHHHHH MY GAAAAAAAAAADDD...
Nice music
You Are Crazy 😍😍
yes
How the fuck can you make this soundtrack? Could it be by the sample channel, but I doubt it can have this quality. It's awesome.

How is the music so hd in a snes rom?
the music uses almost all of the 64kb aram and the the sounds are repeating loops so that saves some aram.
Gnarly lol

WTF?!

what is the name of the first level song?
the reeling!
How do they expect this to be done by a human tho
Humans are 7 minutes slower currently, there's still room for improvement.

Is this using the MSU-1 chip?
nope!
Why does the game halt before the level end theme? Surely the SPC transfer can't take that long?
It does take that long

@@suezuccati304 Pretty sure that if you send one byte each scanline you can get decent sounding audio without the game screeching to a halt.

is "love in the time of lexapro" a reference to the emiliana torrini album "love in the time of science"?
It's a Oneohtrix Point Never song, but they're both references to the novel "Love in the Time of Cholera"
It's called kazio mario. not Casio Mario .
It is a kaizo ROM hack, yes, but the title of the hack is Casio Mario.
