I'm a mother of 4 boys. This is my son's acct. This film has reminded me of how I brought up my children-love,care,attention and time.It pays off seeing them now. To be a mother is quite special.Thank you for this movie.

I think this movie shows what its like living with and loving someone with a mental illness. It also shows people are fragile. Never call someone stupid, who has a mental illness, or who is slow. Also some people just can not help the way they are. That doesn't mean they don't want to be better. It's beautiful how the husband and wife stayed together through better and for the worse. Its rare to see that nowadays. Also, families need to do that. To me, this movie also shows how that being a mother is a full time job. This is a movie about love and dedication.

One of the worst things that can happen to a mother who loves her children is to be despised by them. Another one is to have them taken away from her. The deeds of this woman are a testimony of the power of love. And the end of the movie is a true miracle of love.

After Margret said she baked a cherry pie, I began to cry. The tears just kept coming. I haven't truly cried during a movie for so long. It's shameful that our culture prefers trash to decency and uplifting story lines.

OMG, I just watched this! I have not cried over a movie since I don't remember when, but this performance by Jean Smart was over the top. If ever there was an Oscar omission it was for this role. I hope this movie is not forgotten by someone out there.

For someone who has studied film, it is very rare that I can find an actor of the 1980s and up who I admire. Now I have found one. I am not familiar with the the work of Jean Smart, so this is a surprise for me. Her acting in this movie was superb. Every movement and facial expression was true to character. She should have won an Academy Award for such an exquisite performance.

This movie is the most amazing one I have ever seen.... though emotionally wrenching, Jeans performance swoops your heart up and squeezes it until you can't help the tears. Tears of frustration for the sorrows they must endure and then tears of pure joy from the love they feel for each other...If only all families could be as functional!

I have watched this movie several times now--and cried everytime... A phenomenal performance by Jean Smart! Who wouldn't love Maggie Thomas? <3 When I think that this is a true story, I am so glad that God heard Maggie's prayers--even though she didn't see it right away!!!

My heart bleeds while watching this movie. Can’t breathe anymore. A bucket of tears flowing endlessly through the ending. Salute to all mothers in the world, mothers at heart and fathers who became mothers portraying the role in one. Happy Mother’s Day! In quarantine mode.

I'm happy now :-) She raised those children good! The best proof is the support she got from her oldest son. A very touching film. Get your tissues ready - I cried almost nonstop from the middle on... first from sadness, then from joy!

Moved to tears ... . The system does not always win, if there are good people who go the extra mile. Inspiring movie ...

The oldest son was such a good helper and so loving to his family. So precious of him when he told his mom she was beautiful after she baked the pie, my little cold blooded heart got a little warm for a little bit

When the boy said "Good, take me first!" And the look on mother's face. So heartbreaking. That moment when your son says something to you to hurt you and make you feel hated. For any child to do that. That's the moment a mother's heart breaks. I can't stop crying thinking on it. We love our children more than anything and to lose our child's love because they become angry with their circumstances is heartbreaking and makes us feel like we failed as a parent.

How wonderful a mother she was/is. So emotional and cried a few times throughout the movie. Brings me back to earth, what an inspiration to bring to light the simple things in life can be an eye-opening experience.

When the eldest son, with a smile that shone in his eyes, told his mother the pie was almost as beautiful as her, i lost it.Ooh i cried almost through out the whole movie. The world said she was not smart but this is one of the wisest woman i have ever met.She made sure her family survived on love and acceptance even when everything else failed them.

My all-time favorite TV movie! I rarely cry at movies but this one moved me to tears. Hard to believe that Jean Smart wasn’t nominated for an award - her performance is absolutely brilliant! Thank you so much for posting this gem ❤️
