I'm 56. I grew up on this music.70s and 80s were the best eras for music. I have a 27 yr old daughter who says all the time she wishes she was a teenager in my era because she loves this music so much.
Roger on the drums. He has the most amazing falsetto. Freddie called him the dog whistle. Can I request a reaction to Under Pressure Live at Wembley 1986. Freddie’s charisma on stage is incredible, he has the audience of almost 80,000 people in the palm of his hand. And Deacy‘a bass riff is so iconic. Don’t mistake it it with Ice Ice Baby , because Vanilla Ice flat out stole it and Queen sued him for it. Great reaction ladies, the more you do of Queen, the more you will love them 💕
"It goes from his head to his toes....there's literally like an electric wire going through his body!....he's like a ball of energy!" ..... that might just be the best description of Freddie Mercury I've ever heard....well done!
Thank you for highlighting the fact that Queen was 4 outstanding musicians., not just Freddy. Yes he was the personality, and a genius, but if you take away any of the other 3 , their music would have never had the perfection that it did . They all contributed equally in quality, and passion.
Hey my friends the drummer is ROGER TAYLOR. Would you like to see ROGER sing lead. Try I AM IN LOVE WITH MY CAR from the same concert Montreal 1981. You will love his vocals. Thank you for doing QUEEN videos. I am a huge QUEEN fan. Take care and have a nice day. QUEEN BEE.
I saw Queen in 1978 at Madison Square Garden. I was 14 years old and will never forget it. I've seen so much great live music in my life (Miles Davis, David Bowie, etc. & I live in New Orleans, so...) but I have never seen a performer own a big room like that. We were sitting way up high so he was like one centimeter tall down there but he blew the roof off the place. A total force of nature.
Great that you young people give these old songs a chance, this band were like your uncles or big brothers growing up here in the UK, maybe we took them for granted, great reactions.
Renowned as one of the greatest performers of the 20th century Freddie Mercury pushed the boundaries of art and music as he lead his band Queen to international stardom. His limitless vocal power and extravagant performances shocked and wowed audiences around the world
I was at at the Philly side of Live aid. Your not kidding when you said anyone who saw them live was lucky. Queens performance that day made history and My best friend and I were a part of that on sheer luck.
Love that you are giving the drummer Roger Taylor props for his incredible voice. He is killing the backing vocal here and most people don't mention him during their reaction. Brian May (guitar) and Roger would sing lead on some of their songs. Freddie, Brian and Roger's voices made beautiful harmonies. You can hear Roger sing lead on his own song I'm In Love With My Car at this same concert Montreal 1981. He did all the very high parts in Queen's songs like the high Galileo in Bohemian Rhapsody. You should react to the official video of Bohemian Rhapsody. Also Roger backing up Freddie in Under Pressure Live at Wembley 1986. To hear some vintage Roger backing vocal try In The Lap of the Gods Live from the Rainbow 1974. Incredible vocals from Freddie and Roger. Also White Queen Live from the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 is a beautiful passionate performance ❣️
It was really a blessing when I twice (1984 + 1986) had the opportunity to see them live in concert in Vienna, Austria - I will never forget that extraordnary performance they gave. I always liked them as a school kid. And now I even love them more than ever before. I miss Freddie, his talents, accurancy and awsome melodies. This year on November 24th it is already 30 years ago since Freddie passed away. R.I.P. Your Majesty ...
My mum saw Queen during this time, The Bee Gees, etc. To this day, I always tell her, "You are soooo lucky to see performers in a time when then greats were stomping the grounds!"
Watch the full 1986 UK Wembley Queen concert, and believe me it will blow your minds, simply the the best concert you will ever see in your lives, believe me, i was there. Love from the UK.
Ladies, such a great reaction!!!! Welcome to Queen...I was lucky to see them live in Oakland in 1980...to this day the best ever...I believe he wrote this as a tribute to Aretha...Enjoy!!
I was blessed to see Queen in concert back in 1980 in Baltimore. Freddie owned the crowd the moment he stepped on the stage. Definitely in my Top 5 concerts.
Roger Taylor on drums & incredible backing vocals. Great reaction ladies. I think that their live performances are better than studio versions for the most part. Having said that, please react to the studio versions of ‘Don’t Stop me Now’ & ‘Killer Queen’. After that you ought to react to the full 20min Queen slot at ‘LiveAid’ Wembley in 1985. Considered by many to be the greatest performance by a rock group anywhere, anytime with Freddie’s total engagement with the crowd that has them singing along. He sings 6 shortened versions of great songs leaving other bands speechless, such was their impact. All these are right up your street in terms of style etc. Best wishes to you both 🙂
Music, at its best (like in this performance), brings joy. There is a healing quality to it. Queen was unique, and Freddie was a singular talent. Props also to drummer Roger Taylor, for the killer backing vocals. This was Queen in their prime. Ladies, this was a truly beautiful reaction. Your love for the music is plainly evident, and your commentary is spot-on and very thoughtful. Please keep doing what you do.
Everybody take a big deep breath before some Freddie Mercury! My favorite song .... do the same song live at Milton Keynes 1982. Different but fantastic! “Play the Game” is an awesome song, too! Good job ladies!
One really amazing thing that Queen did, and I don't know if it was their idea, their manager's idea, or what, but they actually recorded at least one concert from most of their concert tours starting in I think the late 70s, so to this day, you can get copies of most of their major concert tours on video.
THIS FROM SOMEONE THAT SAW QUEEN 5 TIMES LIVE AND I HAD A CHANCE FOR A 6TH AND SAID AHH IVE SEEN THEM SO MANY TIMES ILL PASS ...OH MY GOD WHAT WAS I THINKING
Love your reactions check out another one bites the dust same concert in Montreal . I was lucky enough to see Queen live in 1978 in Toronto Canada. Queen is still performing with Adam Lambert as their front man they have done 200 concerts and just released a CD/DVD called Live around the World its amazing love from Canada
What you have to understand, is that today's artist were either great singers, great performers, or great musicians. Freddy was all three. And nobody will ever top the contribution he made to the world. Love you Freddy.
brian may and roger taylor are still preforming and going on tour (not rn tho cause of corona) with a singer called adam lambert even tho they are in their 70s.🤩
Freddie would love the two of you. You understood the essence of the song. Freddie loved Soul, rock, pop, & opera (Freddie was also a genius writer). You are both so much fun and sweet. P.S. - Freddie has a faster vibrato than Pavarotti’s. Last i read, the fastest ever measured. (You can REALLY hear Freddie’s vibrato in Live Aid: Radio Gaga - i think u have seen/reacted to that...). Keep up the great work. Freddie would love this - Such a beautiful soul, our Dear Freddie.
New subscriber here. You ladies are enjoying your journey and that is what is important. I will check out your other reactions now, as this is my first one with you guys. I will say that without headphones, you will not be able to truly appreciate the early rock music. 60s 70s music really requires headphones to get the full experience. BTW, Superman wears a Freddie mercury T-shirt.
Seeing Queen live is not a concert, it's an experience! Amazing fact about Queens' lead guitarist Brian May. He was actually working on getting his Ph.D in astrophysics when Queen was formed. Music meant so much to him so he put his doctorate on the back burner. After Freddie Mercury died, Queen disbanded. Even while still part of the group Brian and his father designed and built a new kind of guitar. Brian's IQ has been measured in the 160's. That's even beyond Big Bang Theory smart. So he was a real genius on top of being a musical genius. after Queen disbanded, Brian went back to working toward his doctorate. He finally got it in 2006 or 7. He's now Dr. Brian May Ph.D. He's also written about 6 books on the subject of astrophysics.
Great reaction. Welcome to the Queen family. Please check out Fat Bottomed Girls live at the Bowl 1982. Lead guitarist Brian May wrote it but Freddie’s having more fun performing it than I’ve seen anywhere else, including the 3 times I saw them live. Must see!!!!
Such a great reaction!! Would love it if you could react to I’m In Love With My Car live at this same concert! I see you liked Roger Taylor’s voice, he lead sings the song, he’s just so amazing and it just shows how talented all the members are, they do it as a medley along with Killer Queen, I think you’d really like it!
Great reaction, you both get it. They were a complete, cohesive unit. And yes, Freddie performed with his whole being. Live is pretty much always better with Queen. You should check out BoRap from this show. Amazing performance.
Let me recommend you react to George Michael and Queen singing Somebody to Love at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. Of all singers, George did the most excellent job embodying the sound and spirit of Freddie. I promise, you WILL love it!!
I hear ya! I've been working on my time machine 😁 Their performance in 1986 at Wembley Stadium is going to be my 1st stop! George Michael did one of the best covers of this at the tribute concert for Freddie.
You may not know that Freddie wrote a song for the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona. He always grew up liking opera. In about three years before he died he did some operatics with a famous suprano. Some are. Barcelona. The golden boy. How can I go on.
Yes... do the 1976 Hyde Park version first with just Freddie singing and playing the Piano..incredible! gave me tears!.. Welcome to the "Queen Rabbit hole", believe me you won't regret it! lovely ladies..
Beautiful 🔥 Please react to some early Queen. I suggest White Queen live at the Odeon Hammersmith. They had such a different style, longhaired Freddie. Love it! Much bless and keep up the good work.
Freddie was a huge Aretha Franklin fan. He’s said she’s his “favorite singer of all time” and wish he could sing half as good as her. That’s where he gets his gospel, soulful sound from
I loved your reaction! Queen is so magical live. Please treat yourselves and listen to “Who Wants to Live Forever” from preferably their live show in Budapest 1986 or from Wembley 1986. White Queen at the Odeon . See some early Queen and long haired Freddie, plus a magnificent performance
Absolutely!! Recommended! A must watch!
I saw Queen and this exact show at MSG in NYC when I was 14 in 1980.
Queen was my first concert ever when i was in the 5th grade. it was amazing!!!
Freddie was a genius what a live performance. I wish I could have seen queen live.
You girls are adorable ... AND ! you know what you are talking about.
Another vocal masterpiece : "You take my breath away, live at Hyde park 1976"
