ahhh Quiet... I decided to bring her on a little side op to rescue someone from Da Samsei Laman I ordered her to get in position and start killing, and engaged myself. after about 5 minutes in which I sniped 3 people and spent the rest of the time dodging mortar shells I receive a message "outpost captured" girl literally wiped out the entire population of one of the largest Soviet outposts in the game by herself
yeah after a while of traveling across the country farming everything and everyone trying to fully upgrade the Base and stock it with S-rank troops I'd just send her to tranquilize an entire base every time on her own, I'd just order her over there using the map and start running over on foot and it would be cleared when I arrived.
Quite, the one companion that is great in pretty much every way. She is literally never in your way, excellent at following orders, provides a nice sound track, and can kill off half the Russian army before I find the door.
No she is always murdering herself. Like always. Walking in front of the bow you just shot. Even when that bow can one shot a dragon of legendary. Lydia just does whatever she feels like.
I remember accidentally stumbling into a forsworn camp at night when they had 25+ Reachmen and women well above My level; I had an enchanted bow and mage armour as My only protection against axemen, swords men and multiple projectiles that could instantly kill Me. Running was impossible as it would mean leaving My lovable companion to be murdered, also I would get shot in the back; Lydia was only kept alive by not being shot when knocked down and My healing spells and potions, all of which She had in Her possession. Still My hasty companion stormed into the centre of the camp lost to sight and sound, and I was left with five very eager enemies ready to tear Me apart, after half an hour or so of slowly painfully shooting them to death, I was alone. Alas My companion was lost, then Lo a lone women runs out of the dark, so dark was this person I could not identify them, I see a weapon I shoot and I hit true the woman is slain all I can see as she falls into the light is Her face, Lydia's face! It was not My faithful friend but another though. Finally after much searching I find My friend, all the Forsworn are gone never to be found, but there is My stuck full of arrows injured and brandishing a bloody sword.
I can't help but think... If your buddy turns out to be really useful and great at helping you out, have you then become the useless one that needs to keep being saved every few minutes?
theultimateshitlord What?! Wow! Dude, you are missing out on one of the greatest games, ever. I got the remaster on PSN for $8. It was just on sale for $10. I highly suggest you play it, and to keep your eyes open for sales on PSN.
***** Playstation isn't the best place to play online, if that's what you mean by "horrible experience". It's more of a single player gaming console, meaning that MP isn't really the highlight, that would go to the Xbox consoles. I would pick one up if I were you, there are some great games coming out, God of War, Spiderman, Horizon: Zero Dawn, RE7, Days Gone, Death Stranding (and since you have the MGS character, you must be interested in this game, considering it's being made by Kojima), Crash Bandicoot Remaster, Detroit: Become Human, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (it's a timed exclusive, but still), and Final Fantasy IIV (7) Remake.
I remember the sequence where you were locked behind the gates in this small castle and dozens of enemy guards popped up. Called in all my interns and man was it cool to see them wreck shit in full on war
You can't forget my homie: Deathrap, from Borderlands 2. He'll put in work without hesitation; shoot first ask, questions later! (In this case it's zap and slash first, never say a word)
what about your squad in ghost recon: future soldier? those guys take out everyone without your help, not to mention their 100% accurate sniping abilities from any distance with any gun at any angle.
+Trevor Bland not necessarily, I have once killed the ebony warrior without unlocking the unrelenting force shout from bleak falls barrow, therefore not getting lydia
+The Joker Yeah, after finishing the game's story. I just decided to replay it for the gameplay (and not loosing Quiet) and I'm most likely going to play MGS4 again and WATCH all of the cut scenes like I did the first time.
The Twig of Newberry How could you? SHE DOES THE WORK FOR YOU! WHEN THOSE MAGIC THINGS WERE ATTACKING WINTERHOLD, I JUST HEALED HER WITH HEALING HANDS AND SHE DID EVERYTHING!
having infiltrator Shepard, Tali and Legion all on one team against geth is ridiculous too since you can basically have half of all your enemies fighting for you at all times. Hell, in 3 just having Shepard and Tali is insane.
Boone from Fallout NV was pretty good too, especially at early levels, he oneshot most of the enemies. But I guess he wears too much clothes to win the best sniper around award
Lydia was great if you were a hack and slasher, archer, or mage class; but go the "sneaky type" route and killing her almost becomes less of an accident and more like "stop giving away my location you over zealous #%$^&!!!!!".
Yes, yes, more of those companions please. If I have to babysit another companion who seems to have a fetish for getting in the line of enemy fire (and mine) while having the health bar of wet tissuepaper I may actually go insane.
+Kian Friden Damn right he will. I remember playing my second character where I actually got Boone, cause I Boone to kill Manny for his hat (Didn't know you get the beret from Boone if you find the right person and I was playing a morally ambiguous character). ED-E would play his battle music, I'd hear like a billion rife shots from behind me, the shots ringing out from Boone's bolt action rifle. And when I fully turned around to see what was happening all that remained were the dead, and Boone swinging his rifle back over his shoulder.
That guy who helps you out in Borderlands was pretty cool. He revived me when I went down every two minutes... Wait, that was a real person ? Nah, you're messing with me.
Kai Robertson Because he's just not good I mean he swings the hammer but it doesn't kill enemies and takes forever to swing but I haven't beaten the game just yet so he could earn his keep. Nevertheless he is still the weakest of the vault hunters with Roland's turret, the hunters slag rounds, and Lilith's phase blast they are better
DD from MGSV can actually do prisoner extractions by himself if you can extract the target with the fulton/wormhole when he's equipped with the fulton kit, you just get a bit close to the target (no need to have a line of sight with the prisoner) and tell him to go get it, he walks in, gets the prisoner, gets out, and none of the guards care if a wolf just rescued a prisoner by himself
TheRupertLitterbin It's actually being tested by a myth buster. It's impossible. Unless if that was added as part of a patch, or someone else shot you, Quiet's bullets seem to simply go right through your character without damaging.
***** Nope, unfortunately I do not remember the exact series (UA-cam) otherwise I'd point it to you. If you made the error of thinking I meant the TV show, I did not mean that but I am aware of that.
What, Eli? No, Eli does not do the hard work for you. That's why you are the one that has to protect her. Yeah, she does things from time to time, but that is only because the game was written that way to make it seem like she is not completely useless throughout the whole thing and to build a stronger bond between the main character and her.
If you are voiced by Nolan North, you're either the protagonist, a fan-favourite villian, a funny side character or a robot companion who lets out some sarcastic quips every once in a while.
+Tom Williams Productions OH yeah Shadowmare is a fucking BEAST I remember being a level 22 sneaky character that had most his attributes in archery and stealth and I was exploring until all of a sudden I find Krosis where There is ,first of all a dragon witch drained almost all my arrows, but then out of nowhere comes a dragon priest and he was doing incredible damage but Shadowmare being the badass that he is, charges the dragon priest while I sniped him with the rest of my arrows yet the horse gave the final blow!
Level 68 character on Novice difficulty with a fully upgraded (legitimately anyway) Daedric Sword w/ Chaos Damage... 113 hits to kill Shadowmere. AND HE STILL RESPAWNS
heh, well in the first games, sometimes a few terrorists kill your whole squad, so not the AI champions, but even there they did a 'one shot one kill' thing.
+Benjámin Kurilla (bbenjoe) In Rainbow Six 3 on the Original Xbox I was trying to protect my team-mates half the time, but I loved that game so much as a kid.
Actually enemies can kill Lydia in Skyrim as well. I used to think that she was invincible too until one day I was fighting a dragon and I looked beside me and she was dead from the Dragons Flames.
I accidentally set Lydia on fire then I turned her into a zombie because I felt bad for setting her on fire. After that I lost her so there is now a wild undead Lydia running around in my skyrim. Ops.
Cripes, Lydia looks awesome -- I'm all for a loyal snarky knight who will carry my gear and wreck enemies. Same with a similarly powerful super-mutant. And, being in the middle of a BioShock Infinite LP myself, I can attest to how freaking useful Elizabeth is in those situations. She is good and needs more love.
I play Skyrim and I have seen Lydia be killed by enemies before. Only followers that have a story purpose like Aela or Serana are unkillable. Also Serana should have been the one on the list since she is the most useful follower. She carries your gear, can use magic, is unkillable, can turn you into a vampire if you want to be one, and she can make bloodstained arrows that blot out the sun if you are a vampire.
VampsTheKing It was probably a bug then since I was shooting arrows towards a different enemy and when I turned around she was dead in front of an adept mage.
+Marc Stuart Because no matter where Mjoll goes, Aeryn is right behind her. It's so bad, that when I married Mjoll and she moved in with me, Aeryn basically moved in as well. The follower mod Inigo even comments on this: "Go away Aeryn, no one likes you."
+Drazarus That's why I go Dark Brotherhood on Aeryn's ass. Can't have him stalking my wife and follower. So I stab him repeatedly resurrect stab again before finally turning to ash.
On my third run through new vegas I finally managed to solve his girlfriends murder and made him my companion i thought great we can destroy all of our enemies but no as soon as we got back on the highway towards new vegas a squad of ceasars legion came and killed him
2:14 "Pot shot" refers to the distance and accuracy of the shots being fired, (in a bad way). Meaning It is more like someone is banging pots and pans together than actually shooting at you.
+LeadedCreature Serena has a better sneak level and hits harder with her magic. Plus with the ability to enthrall dead bodies gives you a number advantage sometimes.
Lydia wasn't my first and really annoyed me, I accidentally hit someone and she killed everyone in dragonsreach I couldn't stop her and lost a lot of progress :|
Fawkes was literally unstoppable. When I got him he would beat everything without breaking a sweat. Had to stop using him because it took the fun out of the game
Since you guys included Fawkes on this list, it’s really only fair to include Boone from New Vegas. He’s so efficient at killing things from long range, that I’ve been walking though the Wasteland and I’ve suddenly had the jump cut that signifies him slaughtering someone else, scaring the absolute hell out of me
Lydia, a badass? Really?! Dragon flies by, she chucks an arrow at it and barges head-on, only to die after two firebursts... reload, dragon flies by and she's dead... reload, dragon flies by and she's dead... and again... and again... and again...
If you install broken steel before getting fawkes, he kills literally. His health increases almost to infinity once you reach level 50, to the point where the experimental mirv launcher barely scratches him
+CerberusLives It is extremely annoying that you can't marry her. She's the only NPC in the game who i'd even consider a match to the Dovahkiin. Well... except maybe Vex. If you're into tsunderes.
Halo Reach: Noble Team (err... some of them). If you want to complete a mission on Heroic or Legendary without dying then just choose a mission with as many members as possible, such as Winter Contingency, and just sit back behind cover while they deal with everything.
GravekeepersMonk I've only played through it once on a light melee build and I let her do all the work for me. Until she got trapped in a bunch of lava and burned to death.
While you have the option to control them, so long as you properly level up Bastilla's battle meditation and healing in Knights of the Old Republic and Kreia's *everything buff related* in Knights of the Old Republic 2, those are some pretty badass companions. In fact, those were the only two companions in those games who didn't fuck off directly into a swarm of sith jedi and apprentices. Or anything else that could and would K.O. the party without a second thought. Yeah, I'm looking at you Bao-Dur. Ten minutes into being apart of my party and you're already charging the nearest enemy outpost while I'm still trying to think up a proper plan of attack! No wonder I never took you anywhere.
I think in this case, Lydia was chosen because the list seems to be explicitly no-DLC. Look at him scolding Fawkes for the radiation incident. Housecarls have one of the highest in game level cap (once it was fixed) after DB initiates, and J'zargo, bothe of whom require specific questioned to have access to. Add in that Lydia, as the first house aro you can get, was giving a little more personality than others and the sentimental value, and it isn't surprising she is on the list. Granted, her personality is still rather bland.
Mercurio is a better non-DLC character than Lydia. I found him to be Skyrim's Boone where half the time you don't get to kill anything because he's already done it... Boone is still better though lol.
Wait... from where is that initial footage of The Last of Us? I played the game from start to finish about 8 times including the DLC and never saw those scenes...
Noble Team? having a squad of up to 5 invincible allies is extremely useful. They are probably what got me through most of my "A Monument to All Your Sins" run. probably also why the last level killed me over 100 times.... the last 2 segments have no bullet sponges...
+Adam Bomeisl Best to use mods that make Lydia and other followers essential I tend to use mods that allow for multiple followers and increase the amounts of enemies in game. Lydia and the other House carls are very good at melee if equipped properly. I usually use Mjoll, Lydia, Aela, and a few of the other house carls for melee and ranged combat. For magic support I usually have J'zargo and Serana around. If properly equipped that group can decimate most anything even in a massive battle. To fix the wandering off portion of follower issues there are many mods that allow you to teleport your followers to you.
+M'aiqThe Liar Also another reason to get a good follower mod is many of them raise or basically remove the level cap on followers. Non modded Lydia maxes out at level 50. With her main stats being health 671, stamina 214, heavy armor 100, one handed 100, block 100, archery 98, two handed 72. Not sure if NPCs and followers are effected by perks or not. Stat wise Lydia isn't badly built for a melee character. You just need to equip her to her strengths and don't forget to enchant her armor to boost her Health, stamina and damage buffs for the weapon types you want her to use. properly equipped with enchanted equipment it is possible to get Lydia to over 2000 health easy. While boosting her damage output to the point she can one hit bandit, imperials and storm cloaks. And be able to hold her own against any enemy in the game The same advice goes for any follower in game. Look up the stats and see what they are good at and what they are not and plan and equip and enchant accordingly.
I will NEVER GUVE QUIET CLOTHES! Not because I'm some perverted teen, but because I think her outfit compliments her slim figure. It totally says "I'm a strong confident women that doesn't need a man!" I swear!
A. Faendal is the first follower you get in Skyrim if you play it right. B. there are way more useful followers in Skyrim than Lydia, she won't outright murder people for you like the Dark Brotherhood assassins will and she caps out at level 50 when they cap out at 100.
lydia? Useful? ... insert "???" meme here. She's about the worst skyrim companion you can have. The only one I've found worse is J'zargo and a few unimportant mercenaries.
HOW DARE YOU CALL J'ZARGO A BAD COMPANION *Ehm* There are no bad companions I think. Even Ogol from Largashbur proved to be a good follower to me. You just need to find someone who is willing to be a follower, gear them up real good (maybe even better than yourself) then let them tank the shit out. That is the only usefulness of followers anyway, in my opinion.
Sude Taşkıntuna Well, their strength in battle varies with their abilities, I've personally found Serana to be my favourite companion thus far, and she's incredibly strong. I traveled some tim ewith J'Zardgo and I just.. I don't know, didn't like it at all.
outsidexbox Well admittedly my memory is foggy on the subject regarding Fawkes specifically, but as I recall all of the Super Mutants were female before mutating. The men turned into the centaurs. But that could be entirely false based on the wiki, which is written by people who were probably way more invested in the game than I!
+Dookus Maximus Centaurs are the result of some serious Frankenstein-like experiments, people and animals combined and then exposed to the Forced Evolutionary Virus. Super Mutants are humans, of any genders (Hence Lily in Fallout NV). There was some confusion based on a comment made by Fawke's voice actor, but the designers confirmed Fawkes is male.
Lydia? Invulnerable? This better be a joke. Five minutes after leaving Whiterun for the first time with Lydia (before unlocking Dragonrend) a dragon appeared and killed her. While I wasn't looking
I agree with all of these EXCEPT Lydia. When I played skyrim with her as my companion, she would always get ripped to shreds by wolves and never fights back. I still have nightmares of her saying in my ear "I am sworn to carry your burdens"... Send help
I love how you put Quiet in here, but D-Dog is the one that actually gets the most use. Quiet's abilities are limited almost entirely to her ability to snipe people, and until you can get silencers for her, you can't use her in any mission if you're intending to go in quietly. D-Dog, on the other hand, gives you the option to go in quietly, while 'scent marking' anybody within a relatively large range, and the mark lasts well outside of that range. Plus he also serves as a distraction or a safe silent takedown, since he's pretty much ignored unless someone sees him attack somebody.
Mass effect team mates were always on point. When I play as the sentinal class espically 2 and 3. Love just hanging back moving my squad mates up and supporting them with powers.
I know no ones ever heard of it, but in Locks Quest every time you’re paired with another Archenear is the best, I just hide behind my nice safe walls while your buddy does all the work.
Having that funfair version of Girls Just Wanna playing is my jam... I hope the new Bioshock manages to continue the excellentness of Infinite even with our boy Ken doing his thing.
I make her stay in Breezehome and I play without a companion (except when the game forces me to have one) until I get Serana. Only decent companion. Lydia is annoying, dies a lot, and ruins sneaking.
ahhh Quiet...
I decided to bring her on a little side op to rescue someone from Da Samsei Laman
I ordered her to get in position and start killing, and engaged myself.
after about 5 minutes in which I sniped 3 people and spent the rest of the time dodging mortar shells I receive a message "outpost captured"
girl literally wiped out the entire population of one of the largest Soviet outposts in the game by herself
Now that's some quality badassery.
Two things, companions can die from traps in Skyrim, and Jzargo is probably the best companion in Skyrim
What about barbas
yeah after a while of traveling across the country farming everything and everyone trying to fully upgrade the Base and stock it with S-rank troops I'd just send her to tranquilize an entire base every time on her own, I'd just order her over there using the map and start running over on foot and it would be cleared when I arrived.

It's funny because Lydia fits in both the super stupid companions who kill themselves and the super invincible OP companions.
Haha, true dat
my Lydia got killed by that snow troll...

No she is always murdering herself. Like always. Walking in front of the bow you just shot. Even when that bow can one shot a dragon of legendary. Lydia just does whatever she feels like.

The Twig of Newberry Lydia has one use. You get an extra inventory.
The Twig of Newberry How could you? SHE DOES THE WORK FOR YOU! WHEN THOSE MAGIC THINGS WERE ATTACKING WINTERHOLD, I JUST HEALED HER WITH HEALING HANDS AND SHE DID EVERYTHING!

I sacrificed her for a daedric quest. I still think it was worth it.
Uh... Every single team mate in Mass Effect series?
+倪传历 except for James Vega, Kaidan or Ashley
those guys are fking useless (to me)
Kaidan is actually pretty useful. Vega and Ashley on the other hand...

Why Lydia and not Serana? Serana is completely broken and actually fully invulnerable.
+Mischievous Roze they don't consider DLCs by the looks of it.
+Mischievous Roze Seconded - Serana is the best, although her sneaking could use some work ;)
SmevMev
in terms of sneaking, pretty much every follower needs work.
+Will Ferrous In that case, Mjoll the Lioness. She also can't die, and all you need to do to recruit her is retrieve her sword from a random dungeon.
EnderCreeper168
yeah, accessibility was a factor i think. Lydia was pick partly due to her being one of the first followers available to you.
But what about D-Dog? He's a cute dog who can murder guards and smell out everything, and he even does backflips!
But the tranq rifle thou (dog is still best character)
backflips 👌
+2DGamer Only question I have with DD is why does he need a knife to murder people? He's a frigging wolf.
+Mike M the knife perfects his backflip duh
I want the "stun" knife. I'm only 18% complete at the moment due to spending most time in MGSV doing the extra curricular stuff.
Yes, yes, more of those companions please. If I have to babysit another companion who seems to have a fetish for getting in the line of enemy fire (and mine) while having the health bar of wet tissuepaper I may actually go insane.

Because he's just not good I mean he swings the hammer but it doesn't kill enemies and takes forever to swing but I haven't beaten the game just yet so he could earn his keep. Nevertheless he is still the weakest of the vault hunters with Roland's turret, the hunters slag rounds, and Lilith's phase blast they are better
Zachary Cannaday Well I never played Borderlands 1, but I played the other ones so I was just curious.
I'm giving quiet the silent treatment after she killed me instead of the enemy during a raid...
Ironic, giving someone called Quiet a silent treatment
+TheRupertLitterbin I didn't even know that was possible.
+Reon Thornton neither did I, until I died
Why take Lydia when you can take Serana?! Essential characters ftw.
She's DLC. Lydia isn't so she's far more known
Jaxa 77ax then Cicero
Mercurio
Plus serana glitches out your vampire powers.
Why take a human at all? Those dumb creatures are just in the way. Vigilance and Frost are company enough.
If you are voiced by Nolan North, you're either the protagonist, a fan-favourite villian, a funny side character or a robot companion who lets out some sarcastic quips every once in a while.
shadowmare is a badass
I went into battle with a giant and from behind me Charges my horse to Melee a giant...
my horse won
when i was plaing skyrim i found 1 giant and 1 giant Warlock and a legendary dragon...
try to tell who wined...
the anwer is...
SHADOWMERE!!!
Shadowmere has the fastest health regeneration in skyrim
+rowplatts Drop the fucker off a cliff, for some reason doing so will FULLY kill him sometimes, like NEVER RESPAWN kill him
Rainbow Six...all of them
yeah same
heh, well in the first games, sometimes a few terrorists kill your whole squad, so not the AI champions, but even there they did a 'one shot one kill' thing.
that reminds me i really need to get on to play rogue spear.
+Benjámin Kurilla (bbenjoe) In Rainbow Six 3 on the Original Xbox I was trying to protect my team-mates half the time, but I loved that game so much as a kid.
Ian Myrick EXACTLY! I finished R63 without firing a single bullet xD
Actually enemies can kill Lydia in Skyrim as well. I used to think that she was invincible too until one day I was fighting a dragon and I looked beside me and she was dead from the Dragons Flames.
That jigglypuff joke caused me to subscribe :3
I accidentally set Lydia on fire then I turned her into a zombie because I felt bad for setting her on fire. After that I lost her so there is now a wild undead Lydia running around in my skyrim. Ops.
Lol I know this is an old comment but this is hilarious. There's something strangely amusing about a 'wild undead Lydia' lurking around Skyrim.
*BLACK*
*IRON*
*TARKUS*
TAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRKKKKKUUUUUUSSSSSSS
+Andrew Cleary
THIS GUY. YES.
+Andrew Cleary As long as rafters aren't involved.
Seriously, they chose LYDIA over TARKUS?
Josh Fox
I cri evry tim.
Delta Squad from Republic Commandos anyone? Show some love for Scorch, Sev, and Fixer!
+
They are probably one of the best fps squadmates I have ever seen!
Boone in New Vegas
Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
+Panthertainment I may have not been the biggest fan of New Vegas, but Boone is still one of my favorite followers.
+Panthertainment *randomly walking around the wasteland, all the sudden random kill cam*
Sounds about right.
Fallout Spartan lol well i am the biggest fan of new vegas and hes a badass to he 11th degree for sure
Panthertainment
I personally preferred fallout 3, but i cannot deny that he is a badass
I play Skyrim and I have seen Lydia be killed by enemies before. Only followers that have a story purpose like Aela or Serana are unkillable. Also Serana should have been the one on the list since she is the most useful follower. She carries your gear, can use magic, is unkillable, can turn you into a vampire if you want to be one, and she can make bloodstained arrows that blot out the sun if you are a vampire.
The player is the only one who can kill followers unless mods are installed that change that.
VampsTheKing It must be different on PC since I have had them killed by enemies on my Xbox version.
PsychoGamer2100
Nope, I own both the Pc and Xbox editions. Could of been a bug or you might of accidentally hit her while she was on low health.
VampsTheKing It was probably a bug then since I was shooting arrows towards a different enemy and when I turned around she was dead in front of an adept mage.
PsychoGamer2100
Who knows.
Wait wait wait! Lydia?! No no no! It's Serana who kills everyone for me! Well mostly. I do like my crossbow.
kharjo and j'zargo>>>>> everybody
MR ZURKON NEEDS NO NANOTECH TO SURVIVE! MR ZURKON LIVES ON FEAR!
If this was for PlayStation: Yes yes yes.
I love the little guy
+George Sears There really should be a Mr. Zurkon standalone game. But there isn't one because of stinking aliens.
Oh yeah most remembered weapon/companion i n the ratchet and clank series
+George Sears
That gets my first ever UA-cam comment like.
pphair You grace me with your benevolence!
karaoke at jigglypuff
hilarious
why Lydia and not mjoll
literally so much better
she is essential
+Marc Stuart Because no matter where Mjoll goes, Aeryn is right behind her. It's so bad, that when I married Mjoll and she moved in with me, Aeryn basically moved in as well.
The follower mod Inigo even comments on this: "Go away Aeryn, no one likes you."
+Drazarus That's why I go Dark Brotherhood on Aeryn's ass. Can't have him stalking my wife and follower. So I stab him repeatedly resurrect stab again before finally turning to ash.
What about Boone?!
He's like Lydia 2.0
Not if you're a sniper! If you're a sniper, he's far more useful than Lydia.
On my third run through new vegas I finally managed to solve his girlfriends murder and made him my companion i thought great we can destroy all of our enemies but no as soon as we got back on the highway towards new vegas a squad of ceasars legion came and killed him
This is why you give him good armor. His default armor only has a DT of 4.
+Bis Quintana lol I usually give him advance riot gear armor and I keep the elite riot gear
What about Solaire?
How else would you engage in jolly co-operation!?!?
Praise the SUN!!!!!!!
PRAISE THE SUN!!!!!

@@eric_moore-6126 Always.

Now we have to add atreius or however you spell his name
BOI
Fawkes the only reason not to blow megaton up and get negative karmalevel over 9000. good 'Ol times
2:14
"Pot shot" refers to the distance and accuracy of the shots being fired, (in a bad way). Meaning It is more like someone is banging pots and pans together than actually shooting at you.
Yo if we're going to list someone from skyrim, can we talk about Serana?
Ikr sera a was easily the best follower
They're all the same because they can't die
+LeadedCreature Serena has a better sneak level and hits harder with her magic. Plus with the ability to enthrall dead bodies gives you a number advantage sometimes.
mjoll the lioness
Very useful, if I recall she's the only follower that actually able to keep up
Lydia wasn't my first and really annoyed me, I accidentally hit someone and she killed everyone in dragonsreach I couldn't stop her and lost a lot of progress :|
Raynebowmo I once hit a person in dragonreach and they destroyed Lydia by the time she pulled out her sword and shield
I'm sworn to carry your burdens.
note: it's actually easier to get Faendal in Riverwood to be your follower. he's always my first companion
Lydia? Pfft, Serana is FAR better and more entertaining.
Also, Veronica, ED-E or Boone from New Vegas? No?
+SapphireGamma This whole thread has been people praising boone, I'm a real veronica/arcade fan myself.
Lewis Beynon Arcade and Veronica are awesome.
+SapphireGamma
+SapphireGamma Serana annoys me.
Fawkes was literally unstoppable. When I got him he would beat everything without breaking a sweat. Had to stop using him because it took the fun out of the game
True I loved the guy
And I dismissed him because "I don't like companions dying"... God, I'm real smart...
missed one, Garrus, turn him into god-tier and sit back watch him take care of things, looks like all those calibrations came with a purpose
Well Quiet also makes things get hard am i right?
no?
Uhh seems legit
A Huge liability to me, just kidding. But I stick with the mans best friend
lol "don't make me install broken steel"
oh and I don't understand why people say Lydia in invincible. she's not. on my first play through she was killed by an ice troll
oh and I don't understand why people say Lydia in invincible. she's not. on my first play through she was killed by an ice troll
Since you guys included Fawkes on this list, it’s really only fair to include Boone from New Vegas. He’s so efficient at killing things from long range, that I’ve been walking though the Wasteland and I’ve suddenly had the jump cut that signifies him slaughtering someone else, scaring the absolute hell out of me
>who needs sleep
me. right now
System32 you do need help cause you have blue screen of death
So you're not a gamer?
outside xbox- talking out playstation exclusives while wearing a sega tshirt lol
+eddy friday They'll be dishonorably discharged from the console war if they carry on like this.
+eddy friday That's why i like this channel, they talk about games from lots of different systems. I don't even own an Xbox lol.
Meanwhile on Playstation Access they don't say anything about other consoles.
Serpico's Beard im the same as you. ive never had xbox i just like the channel :)
BlazinVoid they do mention other console games just not console exclusives
When it comes to Skyrim companions, the best is Inigo, the Kajit of awesomeness
what about boone from new Vegas? Nigga be 720 no-scoping a random dude from 2 miles away in .02 nanoseconds before you can draw your revolver
SPOTTED
CAN'T RUN FROM ME
I never even see the people he kills.
if I wanted any difficulty, I had to leave him behind
Lydia, a badass? Really?! Dragon flies by, she chucks an arrow at it and barges head-on, only to die after two firebursts... reload, dragon flies by and she's dead... reload, dragon flies by and she's dead... and again... and again... and again...
If you install broken steel before getting fawkes, he kills literally. His health increases almost to infinity once you reach level 50, to the point where the experimental mirv launcher barely scratches him
What about Alyx in Half-life 2: EP 1?
Serana is 10x better than Lydia.
Definitely. She's also hotter. Not that that matters, but it's nice.
+CerberusLives It is extremely annoying that you can't marry her. She's the only NPC in the game who i'd even consider a match to the Dovahkiin.
Well... except maybe Vex. If you're into tsunderes.
Sven and Iona= best companions.
+TheTrueWolfboy With mods, anything is possible. Even marrying Serana.
Caramel Frappe With XBOX, mods aren't possible.
At least not until next gen. :D
Halo Reach: Noble Team (err... some of them). If you want to complete a mission on Heroic or Legendary without dying then just choose a mission with as many members as possible, such as Winter Contingency, and just sit back behind cover while they deal with everything.
Mjoll the Lioness >>>>>> Lydia
I was just about to comment that I mean lynda srsly I killed her in a fight with barbarians or whatever they're called
kharjo and j'zargo>>>>>>EVERYBODY
Mercurio is still better
Mercurio >>>>> J'Zargo
The Phantom you can summon in Dark Souls 1 for the fight with the giant fiery spider. Forget both names by now. Sorry.
Maneater Mildred fighting Quelaag. She was definitely useful as fuck.
Toaster Child
Thanks. It's been a while. I usually rely on her as I play mage and run run out since you can't refill spells in this game.
That's why Jordis the Swordmaiden is my favourite housecarl, she has all of Lydia's lines but with the much more eager voice of Ysolda.
+Harabec it was from one of the early trailers.
that's from the reveal trailer
+Harabec Man, I thought I was the only one missing out haha
+Harabec I actually saw all of those scenes.
Cheddary Swiss Considering they're not in the game... yeah. Outside of it maybe
Elizabeth: who are you?
Booker DeWitt:I AM YOUR FATHER!!
this hideo volume level seems abit quiet for me,, But I don`t know if its just my laptop
+dekkubo boo try turning the video up
yeah,, i could hear it properly. I just wanted to make a really lame pun
+dekkubo boo pretty much,, yeah
+dekkubo boo I see what you did there.
PDGT04 thanks,, I was hoping that someone gets it :P
when i first got lydia, that bitch died on my first fight... it was a frostbite spider...
Noble Team? having a squad of up to 5 invincible allies is extremely useful. They are probably what got me through most of my "A Monument to All Your Sins" run. probably also why the last level killed me over 100 times.... the last 2 segments have no bullet sponges...
I don't know if I'm doing it wrong, but my Lydia is fully useless. She dies in like 3 hits and constantly wonders off.
+Adam Bomeisl i am with you on that she just gets in the way of my fighting.
And be able to hold her own against any enemy in the game
The same advice goes for any follower in game. Look up the stats and see what they are good at and what they are not and plan and equip and enchant accordingly.
ya Lydia was useless only follower with zero sneak and never fails to set off every trap in a area
Boone? Fallout new vagas?
true
Veronica>
+Kingxander123 yeah, the small robot companion is damn awsome, never changed him
Well with the only alternative being Rex there really is no reason to...
boone and rex were the perfect pair
Why hasn't OX already not gained 2 mil subs? This channel is so awesome! ^.^
i thought quiet cant wear much cloths cause she breath through her skin
+Melvin Melvin Yeah. But you can give her clothes and she will be fine )))
I will NEVER GUVE QUIET CLOTHES! Not because I'm some perverted teen, but because I think her outfit compliments her slim figure. It totally says "I'm a strong confident women that doesn't need a man!" I swear!
Suuuuuuuure that's what we all say
War fatigues say that significantly more clearly...
The Sniper Wolf outfit gives her clothes without ruining her figure, so your point is moot.
Wasn't there some plot point about her absorbing life energy through the skin being why she's so scantily clad?
*SPOILER*
She was part plant or something like that and absorbed light, hence the scantily clad-iness
The only one I've found worse is
J'zargo and a few unimportant mercenaries.
HOW DARE YOU CALL J'ZARGO A BAD COMPANION
*Ehm* There are no bad companions I think.
Cicero is definitely the best follower, nobody else can dance other than him
they scale based on level. it was prob cuz u used her at lower levels.
+t long (Mag3wins) Ah I see. makes sense. Still xD I prefer almost any follower over her in terms of likeability. personal preference
Awesome except Fawkes was female, not "him", or "he"!
Lot of people saying that - what are you basing that on? The wiki reckons he's a guy called Shelton!
outsidexbox Well admittedly my memory is foggy on the subject regarding Fawkes specifically, but as I recall all of the Super Mutants were female before mutating. The men turned into the centaurs.
But that could be entirely false based on the wiki, which is written by people who were probably way more invested in the game than I!
+outsidexbox and im basing it on strawberries
+Dookus Maximus Centaurs are the result of some serious Frankenstein-like experiments, people and animals combined and then exposed to the Forced Evolutionary Virus. Super Mutants are humans, of any genders (Hence Lily in Fallout NV).
There was some confusion based on a comment made by Fawke's voice actor, but the designers confirmed Fawkes is male.
+Dookus Maximus fawkes was male, i think you are getting him mixed up with lily in new vegas.
4:25 I. KILLED. HER! In 'boethiah's Calling'
Anyone can die, even the immortal npc's
Joe from Mafia 2?
Lydia? Invulnerable? This better be a joke. Five minutes after leaving Whiterun for the first time with Lydia (before unlocking Dragonrend) a dragon appeared and killed her. While I wasn't looking
5:41 *MOOSE* ..roh dah!
I agree with all of these EXCEPT Lydia. When I played skyrim with her as my companion, she would always get ripped to shreds by wolves and never fights back. I still have nightmares of her saying in my ear "I am sworn to carry your burdens"...
Send help
Literally just finished Spec Ops on the hardest difficulty as you started talking about it. Perfect timing for my 1000/1000 XD
Fawkes is made even better by his voice being the same as the arena announcer from Oblivion.
The crate dropping on the head of Quiet... really, really funny! xD
Lugo and Adams are pretty good, I will agree. The command system is a bit fiddly but in terms of practicality they do come in handy.
LMFAO Lydia always dies on me within and hour or two of getting her. 😂🤣😂🤣
I make her stay in Breezehome and I play without a companion (except when the game forces me to have one) until I get Serana. Only decent companion.
Lydia is annoying, dies a lot, and ruins sneaking.
