Joseph. Love your videos. I have a question for you and I hope you can answer? I've been wondering this for a while now. Do you recommend holding/handling dead rats by the tail without wearing gloves? I've noticed you do it in most of your videos. Do you ever worry about contracting the bacterium Leptospirosis, also called Weil's disease? Rats can pass the infection through their urine and if someone was to get some of that on their fingers and ingest it, it could lead to liver disease etc or worse? I know of a few people who contracted the virus and it was touch and go whether they would survive. Thankfully they did. With somewhat of between 50 to 60% of rat's carrying the virus (depending on where you live) it seems like a very high chance of someone getting sick. I noticed one of you kids picking up dead rats by the tail in one of your videos. Kids immune systems wouldn't be as strong as us adults and it seems like an awful chance to take teaching them to handle dead Rats like that with their bare hands? Thanks. Looking forward to your next video.
I like the way Bindi takes control and tries to move the pile herself, then when she makes a kill she immediately drops it and moves on to the next one. It’s especially impressive how when the other dogs takes a rat from her she lets them have it and again, moves on to the next one. I love the intelligence bred into the Spike dogs
Gypsy's determination is just amazing. I have never seen a dog work so hard to get in a hole like that. Lol! Like when she dove in the hole between some bales of straw and was literally doing a head stand with her feet straight up in the air. Too funny! Amazing little dog. Still my favorite!
Youre giving these dogs the BEST life. Its so awesome to see your connection with your pets, your children, and the people in your community. Much love ❤❤
Joseph you and your pack of very talented dogs are a joy to watch each has their own unique way of catching and dispatching the rats 🐀 I could watch them for hours thanks Joseph for sharing your way of life and work on this fantastic channel all the best from me here in Glasgow Scotland 🏴
All your dogs are so good but can I say how much I love Tag. She’s still such a puppy but is so good at catching the rats. She seems like a very gentle dog for job she’s doing and I hope she stays that way. Bindi, as always is a rock star.
Somewhere around 7:30 mark they dogs are having a great time digging up the buried treasure. Tag really seems to be getting the hang of this and Bindi is just amazing.
Tag is making great progress. She wasn't playing with the rats much this time. She was concentrating very well too. Great snatch at 2:46-2:48. That was a move Boss would have done. And once again, Bindi is being a polite, smart dog after catching rats by letting Gypsy or Laia finish it off as she goes searching for more rats.
Tag is learning quicker than I was thinking she would, she seemed like such a silly playful puppy but she’s able to focus really well and not just follow the older dogs around, excited to see her mature even more
Hoarders and rats are made for each other. I worked on a farm where the owner had rooms for of lead acid batteries stacked up high and leaking fumes. I asked him why. He was convinced that it was his retirement nest egg for the time when leaded gas became legal again
UA-cam striking videos of working dogs doing what humans bred and trained them to do over thousands of years is such a dumb policy decision. This channel is nothing but educational and should be treated as such. Anyway, keep up the good work!
Just joined your club🙂 After watching first video...ratting seams like it's just for fun for the dogs! Watching Bindi and Tag with the raccoon is so intense!!!

Mink man i've been watching you for a long time. I recall some of your first videos. I of course have lost the old accounts but still enjoy watching you! Wish you lived nearby i'd love to see how my beagle/boston terrier would do out there with the rest. She has that beagle nose and uses it all the time to track mice down in the garage!
1:51 Bindi is my favourite, her intelligence never ceases to amaze me. 🐕👏 6:57 Funniest thing I've seen all week, Gypsy's head stuck down a hole and her little back legs wiggling in the air. 7:31 Tag actually lost that rat, it got away from her. I feel that Tag doesn't quite have the killer instinct, she seems like she's hesitant to make the kill.
Bindi moves things out her way amazing dog, I want one, when are you breeding her next. I will put my order in now, and pay with cash, I’m not far from you.
I just confirmed I have rats on my farm. I was leaving feed available for my chickens. Changing that up, setting traps, etc. I have a small house dog (Chihuahua cross) who will steal mice from the cats. Tried her with some trapped small rats. She managed to kill one and one got away. She's not as determined as your dogs.
Came from a channel called mousetales where an ignorant girl rescues trapped mice, she blatantly disregards the damage they cause and I couldnt be more enraged
way to go Bindi (sp?) and I give a half a catch to the spaniel looking pup. She's learning but also picking up bad habits, work more her/Bindi not the with the 2 black pups... she could learn to pull on the hose like Bindi did .. that was some smarts on her part..
Curious question, how to you prevent your dogs from catching fleas/mites etc from the rats? Do you just use the standard monthly flea treatments or something else?
I use Revolution whenever I travel to an area with fleas, ticks, or heartworm problems. Where I live in Utah it's the high desert, and I've never seen a flea or tick on any of my animals.
Tag did not get credit for digging out some rats that Lela got in to take. Those two little ones are crazy when they play tug-o-war with those big rats!

Bindy is such an intelligent doggo! I remember when she was just a pup getting trained. So cool!

almost every farm I've personally been to has had to contend with rats some way. But keeping junk around piled up like this is just asking for it
Yep!
Tag seems to be really getting into the game. Does well for a bigger pup.
