Had no idea you were bucket-training Sherni too! I thought only Bindi had been trained in the ancient Samurai art of "Bucket! Good girrl!" Also awesome to see classic Boss and Sherni footage. Boss will always the boss forever in our hearts, and he and Sherni are both missed.
People commenting that Lily is "skinny" either like to start problems OR they do not take the time to notice her powerful leg muscles which she would not have if she was not fed well. Can you see hip bones? Vertebrae? Grey hounds are built for speed, and so are cheetahs. Thank you for sharing this part of your life with us😃
This is the best. With a family run pest control business I'd love to have one of his minks. I tell customers about you all the time. And, they go to your channel and tell me how awesome it is what you do!!!!
Seeing Boss being a little silly about killing the rats when he was young, gives me hope for your new puppy lurcher. Maybe she will make another Boss someday.
@@exidy-yt He left some damn big paw-prints for her to fill, but she's stepping up beautifully. Her future pups, if Joe decides to ever breed her, are gonna be intense~

Seeing Boss and Shernie together is special. Shernie is still so young. It's nice that Boss, Bindi, was able to help at the beginning. Boss and Shernie are unforgettable.
22:43 😅 I got a dog for my 15th birthday, he was a beautiful GSD/cattle dog mix. He was always so slim and we tried everything to get a lil meat on his bones. We didn't know at the time that that was just his shape! Miss you and love you forever, Hemi ❤
Wow I can’t believe it’s been 5 years since the feed lot!! Watching these contests with actual counters is such a trip. We all know we’re always rooting for our favorite dogs watching these. 😆
Sheila's retrieval is a lot like Bindi I see Boss was doing some tossing with a few of his kills. Reminds of your current hound. Lilly seemed to have been one of those pure Greyhounds that's very quiet, gentle, and loving, causing her to not have enough aggression for ratting. Neela is an amazing Terrier. She doesn't play around with her kills too much and doesn't interfere with any of Boss's kills.
Edit : Rip to the Good Bois and Girls. 😥How come? They Were well cared for. Just working dogs doing a good job. I like how shernie is cleaning up into the bucket. That's a good girl right there. I unfortunately forgot that they had both passed.
@@mastathrash5609 You are probably new here and missed the one thing. This video was originally released in 2019. Since then Shernie was killed by a car and Boss got cancer. 😭
Anyone who thinks Lily is 'too thin'...look again. Note the lovely muscling along the spine, over the shoulders, and on the hindquarters. Not a vertebra in sight, and ribs are just barely showing . One very fit dog!!
Great to see Boss doing his Boss-ing around. I forgot what an intense beast Neela is too, very focused on the job- in contrast to Lilly, who appropriately got retired. And I'm slightly embarrassed to admit it, but it's a rush and a pleasure to watch a mink wade into a crowd of rats and go all Terminator on them. Seems like you could have used a couple more terriers on this one- Leia & Gremlin/Gypsy. Finally, if IIUC, you sometimes do these big ratting jobs for no fee to the landowner, getting your pay from the youtube video you can garner from them. If that's the case, every ranch and farm in the country should be calling you!

It's interesting to see this video because Boss is exhibiting to some extent that catch-throw-recatch that Tag has. Tag i(at least the last video) was still a 3peater, where as Boss seems to throw the rat once or twice. In Bosses last couple years, I didn't tend to see this, it was definitely more of a catch-crunch-kill. Maybe Tag will grow out of her seemingly bad habit, but only time and future vids will tell.
This man has beautiful children, a beautiful wife/mom, a thriving and necessary business, a top rated UA-cam channel , his awesome doggies and of course the stars of the show his minks.❤
I love your family & friends uploads. Loved Boss, but personally, I am a Bindi fan. My Min-Pin caught rats in one week and I was so proud of him, but he is a cross, which probably explains because his Granddad is half his size!! ThanksJoseph & all. 🙏🙏❤❤🐶🐶
It's just so cool to see all the thought and training that goes into these videos. It's so clear how much you all care about all of the dogs and minks' safety, even for the rats. I hope you have a wonderful day!
Aww, old videos, but good times! I'm laughing cause they kept score on this one, and even Joe got a slot. Lmfao! I'm just pleased as punch, cheering as Joe grabs all the live ones, literally making a Rat King in one hand!! LOL!! 🎉🎉🎉 GO TEAM MINK!
All of my dogs have been Toy Manchester Terriers. They are a direct line going back to an original "black and tan" rat terrier. Terrier comes from the Latin 'terra' for earth. I've never seen terriers do what they were named for - going to ground. Neela was doing that often and with her small size and short legs (and classic terrier fierceness), she was awesome.
I'm glad you brought up the subject of diseases from the rats. I was wondering about that. Thank you for the knowledge shared. I am new to your channel and I am impressed with your technique and animals. Keep up the good work. Btw...Boss is an amazing dog!
Fantastic older footage Joseph, I wish people would look up dog breeds and see what they look like before commenting on how skinny it looks, anyone can see how much you care about your animals, I couldn’t believe how many rats there were, is it every few weeks they breed and have litters?, tfs and happy hunting x Julie 🇬🇧
Nice video, Joseph. Nice work from you and the animals. The camerawoman also showed full commitment. Regarding the screaming of the rats, there is something "cruel" about it. My grandfather was a trained miner in a coal mine, and the rats would always nibble on the miners' sandwiches underground. Even though the bread slices were hanging on the welding wire, my grandpa caught them alive. A needle was made hot and the red-hot needle was stuck in the eyes of the rats and then released again. They are said to have screamed like children, which gave them a short period of peace from the rats.
I love watching your videos on UA-cam. I find it very interesting. I would love to be able to see your minks and dogs work in person. I would really like to get into doing the same thing here in Minnesota where I'm from

Snake owners in the US buy wild rats? So they don´t care about their reptiles or are you making sure they´re parasite and mite free? And a dog isn´t starving when you can´t the see the rip cage guys, Lilly´s body simply is build for speed.
Hey former snake owner here, never buy WILD rats or rodents of ANY kind for feeding your snakes and other reptiles. Rats eat a lot of things snakes can’t digest. Snakes are also very susceptible to parasites and diseases that wild rats would have. Thats why pet stores have breeders
