Twin home experts: I really can't take down these rats on my own
Joseph Carter: *I've been waiting for this day my whole life*
My 12 year old calico kills rats for fun, never eats them and twice brought one alive into the house to hunt...successfully thank God.
@@mikegrinwis7269 cats are oddballs, ive known cats that will happily hunt rats and others that only go after 'easy' prey... Then there was my aunts cat that would bring home adult rabbits.
@@bruce3195 Yeah cats are weirdos
Greatest business model in the history of the world putting these two teams together. Hopefully more pest control businesses will watch and learn from these true experts.
We had a feral cat living under a farmhouse in Oregon we bought back in 2014. We called him the terminator. That guy fought with everything, including opossums and raccoons. But he was self-employed and would not take orders from us like your great pups will. And I did not want to get anywhere near him. He eventually left for greener pastures [across the street] in a 108 acre parcel.
My young cat and her four half-grown children are doing a great job hunting in my yard, if the weekly killed mole is a good sign. sometimes, i see them pounce a lizard or grab a flying bug.
I love those vicious outdoor cats that will have like a ear missing and war wounds all over their body. They just want to kill anything smaller than them!
And they are not traineds, this Guy is sick cat hater, the nature of cats is kill rats unlike of dogs, traineds cats are 100x better in kill/eliminate rats
My wife is a professional organizer. Houses like this exist more than anyone wants to know. At least the owner seems to be on board with this. Hopefully she will keep the change that is being provided.
I’ve worked service jobs my whole life. I’d say 1 out of every 25 houses is starting to hoard or full blown hoarding. From my experience trauma can kick start the bad habits. They start collecting to fill emotional needs
On board while the cameras are there. These sorts of people rarely change.
Beside the obvious clutter, I was surprised that the house didn't smell as bad as I thought it would be. It was very stuffy and dusty but no strong smells. I hope this lady gets the help she needs and starts a new life free of clutter and dirt.
It’s nice you guys got to go do a business trip together hopefully you guys can do more outside trips
I agree , there's no way she's happy in that house .I wish her a clean house and a new start . Hoarding is a sickness and I hope she gets better
@@nomnomnooma me too! It was fun being with Joe all day and no worry about my kids (my sister was watching them) I hope that we can travel more in the future as I'm sure we can help people with our services. 😊
It would be nice if you guys made a vlog channel. Idk about other people but I would be very interested in how the mink man's videos are made.
@@maggie2383 Some people believe hoarding is a symptom of demon possession. (Personally, I'm not so certain.)
Who decided NOT to clean up before the MinkMan showed up? INSANE! Those dogs deserve congressional medals!! SALUTE
The dog’s tails were wagging the whole time, you know they were having a blast!!
The best doggos are all doggos
they loved it! but are all the marks on the dogs face from the rats claws and teeth?
@@kash1111111 most of the time, yeah it happens rats can give a nasty bite! But most dogs don’t make that mistake twice they learn how to avoid bites and kill immediately
RATS 🐀WEREN'T TO HAPPY THOUGH...🤨
Gotta watch for fleas and bed bugs in those unique homes.
Yes! Great point. The great thing is that this house did not have a odor issue.
@@TwinHomeExperts wow. No smell is unbelieveable.. konda impressive. Im sure that was a bonus working there.
Ive worked for cat owners in clean homes that reeked like cat urine.. gagging...
Yea I would strip my clothes while I’m there and put it in some trash bags. Bed bugs can spread very fast, I got them from my neighbor one time and it was hell but I got rid of them by using 90% rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. All my clothes went to the dry cleaner and my mattress went in the trash! I mopped the floor with some bleach, water and alcohol mix. Bed bugs can literally make you go crazy because you won’t see them but you’ll wake up with 20 bites all over your body! It’s disgusting! If I ever wanted to mess with someone I didn’t like I would find bed bugs and put them in their home lol.
Takes a lot of courage to walk into a cesspool of a home like that without a biohazard suit. Those dogs had an enormous task and absolutely rocked.
Disgusting
A biohazard suit is overkill. A mask is fair enough cos of dust.
@@veilbreak5867 if it were roaches the whole suite is a def.
"We need the mink man" Don't we all? LOL
But the minkman without the mink is but a simple man.
My wife and I took a week-long vacation years back and had someone watch our cat of 15 years. She only weighs about 6 lbs and has always been small. When we got back there was a still-warm rat carcass on our bed. I had no idea that house cats don't generally engage them, kinda makes me impressed.
My cousin’s cat killed a groundhog. Could barely bring it back, apparently, but managed it. Dragged the thing.
There are exceptions to every rule. House/feral cats rarely kill rats, but there are exceptions.
My grandfathers ladyfriends cat tried to take down a hare that was bigger than the cat. Was quite a surprise for me when I was standing on road and the cat suddenly went hunting mode and jumped into the ditch and massive hare bolts off.
with cats, it's really down to the individual. I had one that would only ever chase flys and snails, and then I had one that brought home birds, snakes, squirrels, and even one frog
I tried flushing out a big rat in my kitchen once with my 3 cats and they refused to hunt it every time. They only prefer hunting the tiny mice I find around the house.
Great content. That was definitely a difficult situation for those 2 dogs because of all of the clutter. Minks would of definitely had a blast. Boon must be mad lol.
I'd be worried about hidden sharps and falling objects the place is so cluttered 😟
I thought the same thing , farms and barns are way safer
It's not a dump. It's just clutter.
@@alphanerd7221 it’s a dump. Wonder what your place looks like.
@@backinblood3218 Go to a dump sometime kid.
The best way to get those rats out would be to get a cleaning crew. The rats will run out and the dogs will have more room to catch them. There is too much clutter.
I’d be nervous of hantavirus in an enclosed space with so many rodents. I know it’s not common, but my neighbor (healthy man in his 40s) cleaned an attic and passed away a week or so later from it. This was on the Wasatch front in Utah.
Please be careful for your sake and your family!
I had an elderly but spry neighbor that did the same 6mos into the hysteria of the Corona Virii. He was so fine that he decided to do a "vacation" rental in Idyllwild, CA. But it really was a storage and/or industrial work space that he cleaned up and painted himself for some semblance of a "vacation rental". He only stayed in it for two weeks before becoming so ill that he fainted and killed himself during his fall. This is apparently the progressive "New Normal" in Hella expensive Californication!
I Hope than rats bite them
Agreed! It’s better to be safe than sorry!
there were some really nice pieces among the clutter. Life can get on top of us, I hope she can get some help clearing out the trash, so the nice pieces show through, (even the wooden front door with the small panels was lovely) and her quality of life improves. I wish her all the best
That was some stunning French Provincial furniture. Would love to have it.
Those dogs are great. Love those ratters.
This house is so nasty I wore a mask to watch the vid I don’t want to inhale any of that 😷
🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂😂🤣😂
Truly disgusting!
Even if it didn't smell, I wouldn't have risked it.
I had a cat named Jake, he lived 21 years, survived numerous coyote attacks, fought everything besides female cats. His favorite meals were mice, rats, and rabbits. One night he came home with his ribs exposed, and still survived.
Metal! Glad he had a good life.
He is a ver*** cat hater
What a great collaboration. Two effective teams working together to increase there odds of helping out those in need!
Appreciate this feeeback! 👍🙏
He definitely needs to do more of these. It was great to watch with those little dogs.
There was nothing really effective about it, the house needs clearing and a poison plan put in place, the fact that someone is actually living in that place is atrocious to say the least!
How wonderful that this lady is taking back control of her life!
Agree! I heard that there was another team coming after us to complete the removal of things. We cleared a good chunck of it out but there was more to be done and it looks like they will be getting that help.

Hey, it's the prized camerawoman! Keep up the prime quality filming!
@@DinnerForkTongue thank you! 😊
Having watched the Twin Home Experts video first, I can honestly say that I really appreciate your editing. Not that their video was worse, but more that you don't leave any of the important details out and hearing Joe explain things as well as keeping all of the funny little moments make the videos great. This channel has a great sense of style, especially with editing.
I've caught my "killer" cat PLAYING with the barn rats, under the car at night, like they were best buddies (I had night binoculars so could watch their games from the kitchen window). Talk about a feeling of betrayal, I couldn't believe my eyes. People always recommend getting cats, but what you really need are little ratting DOGS, for sure. Thanks for another great video!
yes, I have watched this ratting channel, and the little dogs ( Terriers ) were so fast, very agile indeed. they had no mink with them, and they were just 5 of them, (2 adults and 3 pups ) and they caught hundreds of rats, like 200, 400+. the humans were not even grabbing/hunting rats, they were just there guiding, and helping dogs, by removing any obstacle, digging the hide out of rats, flushing them out, and of course to cheer for the dogs. It was very impressive. The dogs were brave, very fast, precise. Rats had no way of escape. A dooms day for rats literally.
This is literally one of the best things I've ever seen. Unreal. Those dogs are a Blessing 🙌
They Sure Are, 👍
They are trained so...
I know a hoarder they've been letting me help get things out. It's sad how they want to do better but mentality just can't let go of things, it's tied up in trauma. It's incredible how brave these people were to ask y'all for help, and beautiful the kind and non judgemental care you gave them. ❤️ I hope this is the start of something better for this family. 🙏
My dad was a hoarder, trying to clear his place after he died was a nightmare. No rats thankfully, but lots of mice and spiders
Confirming that cats are not a solution to rats. I helped out a friend with an old house. She had 2 cats, and rats were coming into the house from the outside to get the cat food. I set up a couple of cameras. When the rats would come in, the cats would run away and give the rats free access to their food dishes. Trapped the rats and plugged the holes.
Biologically speaking house cats are mesopredators or middle of the food chain predators. They can be prey to the more apex predators. The larger apex predators cats do take rats as snacks. Plus you can train dogs to hunt on command , cats no.
Just imagine if the mink could have been brought in, in a rat culture that had never even SEEN mink all of a sudden are greated with a predator practically designed to kill them like-
Rat: theres no way it can fit in he- THE HECK IS THAT???
I hope the homeowners get the help they need and that their health is ok. Definitely not healthy living conditions. Great video and Collab! 💖
I could never be in another hoarder house. The smell, the rodents, fleas and other pests, the clutter. I can't do it.
I bet Joe's mink would take most house cats in a one on one battle. The cat's best chance would be to climb or run away. Cats just aren't built to battle the way mink do!
So true what you said about cats. I've had very good barn cats that would pursue and kill anything from as small as a fly to foxes, but they're rare. Only really works if they live fully out of the house and you've trained them. Most cats love hunting as a form of play and will not kill & eat most of what the catch, especially not the more aggressive prey. They do still act as a deterrent to pests but unless they're killing them too it's really not worth the effects they have on wildlife. Not to mention how outdoor cats have significantly shorter lifespans than indoor cats. Unless the cat is doing a job as a trained mouser, it should be inside, for the sake of wildlife & the cat's health.
I like how you said "there's weird individuals" when talking about cats. I once met a cat named Cujo, this cat killed anything and everything with reckless abandon. Small dogs lives were at risk if wandering on the owners property let alone a rat.
It just amazes me how a hoarder can develop and see all that garbage as precious. If I ever allowed myself to be surrounded by that much filth I would have myself committed.
Cats also carry toxoplasmosis which alters the brain to become less fearful of cats (and even casually approach them) to make hunting prey easier for them. That was probably a contributing factor to why so many rats were there, they just had no fear of felines.
Oh you mean crazy cat lady syndrome? Yeah, pretty scary how toxoplasmosis effects people too!
Lasagna, I would love to see a citation for this claim.
My cat brought a rat in a few weeks ago, I always check before letting him in, that there's nothing in his mouth, as soon as I opened the door he put the rat he'd hidden under his paw and brought it in. He then let it loose in the living room, and walked out! I just locked the rat in and sealed the door till my husband came home. It took days to get him with a trap. I didnt go in, but my husband fell asleep in there watching tv, he woke up and the rat was about a foot from his face.
That was awesome, Joseph! I hope this lady gets the help she needs. I’ve seen hoarder houses on TV before and it’s crazy how messy they are. I could never stand being inside one.
my man talking that Spanish is just deserving of a like and a chef's kiss
Oh man every time I see this I think how much my German Pitsky would loveeeee this job. She can’t stop killing rodents. She gets that crazy look in her eyes and zooms into a space and follows gophers underground like she has x ray hearing. Gets em as they pop out.. she slowly sneaks up on squirrels.. face to face and snatches them! It’s absurd, she scares me and kind of leaves my mind blown
They're not gonna get much done in there with all stuff in the way, that is just ridiculous. I hope i won't end up like the owner of that house
I love how he’s just like WHERESARAT and the doggies are like “workworkworkworkworkwork”
The minks would be the perfect hunters for this job seeing that they can go into all the small corners where the small dogs have a hard time getting into.
Hope you get to do this collab again but with the minks to see them at thier best action.
I really hope you're getting paid well for these videos. This would make an incredible show on Animal Planet or something, but I'd hate to see how they'd edit / direct it. Nothing better than dogs doing their thing without a bunch of nonsense.
I cant imagine not wearing a mask in there
I was wearing the last one we had, Joe didn't mind though.
Amazing and beautiful dogs. I hope this family gets their life back at last.
When the Cats fail, you send in the Dogs.
Great tagline.
Well this is definitely a new venture for you. I could definitely see you branching out from just farm and yard pest control. Having the mink would be a toss up on a job like this. They would fit more places and have a blast exploring but would they be safe in that environment.
Great collaboration! This was fun to watch!
i love that you go in with no gloves and everyone else just looks scared to touch anything
Astonished at how much I enjoy watching your dogs, mink, and Lizard hunt /work. They love it.
That's enough UA-cam today. I gotta clean my room.
I hope someone helps the homeowner to get the house cleaned afterwards. I have anxiety just looking at it and it makes me very sad

OMG. Those dogs look like they are having an absolute blast.
Cats are ambush predators. They are not scared of dogs, but when something comes at them, like a rat, they get surprised and confused.
I'm mind blown how cluttered the house is....... but great job!
The amazing thing i find about watching hoarding cleanups is you gradually start to see what this person's life looked like before their hoarding problem took over, a bed, dresser, chair and other furniture purposely placed, under trash and debris.
Like digging up a time capsule.
Those dogs are having a blast. Great video of a different environment.
I watch both your channels and love the collaboration! :)
Joseph is advisable to use gloves in situations like this. Blessings to you & your family
Add a mask you can see all that stuff flying around in the air not healthy.
Leia is amazing. I have a female jack/lab mix named Lucy that reminds me so much of her.
Been waiting on this collaboration for a long time thank you guys for finally collaborating‼️💯.
A collaboration with these 3? Yes please. Take my LIKE!!!!!
The collab i didnt know i needed
12:28 "We're putting all the clothes in blue bags..." as the other woman puts a plastic bottle in a blue bag.
At 12:52 I was like OHH MY GOD THATS A BIG ONE 😂
Also I think the fact that the dogs are really going at it themselves and diving into the piles without command really shows that they love what theyre doing!
😄
Cant stop watching these..
Something totally different and its quality!
We were fourtanate to have Dewey for six months! She was a rescue from Harvey! She was a mouser of the highest caliber! Unfourtanily, she had Cancer and Diabetes.
This clutter makes it very hard to eradicate the rat problem. This home needs two dumpsters to haul it all out!
Those dogs are so game. They know it’s - very sadly - a dump heap and not a house, and they aren’t afraid to go anywhere and everywhere. In fact, it looks like they’re having a lot of fun playing the rat-hunt game. What a versatile and willing helper dogs are.
When I was little I was forced to live next door to this absolutely wretched, and filthy old lady who had a yard full of trees, bushes and trash. She hoarded cats and dogs so an unfortunate addition was a large infestation of rats 😳 It was truly disgusting, Me. Carter...God, how I wish I could've contacted you.
I noticed a lot of comments condemning the homeowner but what they may not realize is that hoarding is a disease. It's a mental disease that is hard to control. So please show a little compassion and understanding. Great job with the dogs, they were so eager to find their prey and destroy it. Good boy, Joe, you caught a nasty rat! *pat on head*
The other video on the collab channel explained the situation slightly better.
Really not proud to admit that I lived like a hoarder for a bit. Hated every minute of it, but had no idea where to even start so it just sat longer. It’s been a few years since that terrible time in my life and I’m truly grateful I live in a clean and organized home. Looking back on it I’m absolutely amazed I didn’t have any pest problems myself.
When Joe & the family is on the job no rats are safe!!! Outstanding video guys love seeing the dogs, really miss Sherni tho not to bring up in feelings in Joe & his wife, I've been a fan for awhile an I jus miss her!!!
Holy Jesus. It never gets un-shocking to see hoarders mess. Every time I see one on TV, I get the urge to deep clean and minimize.
And I thought my house was messy......... Wow.
Imagine having such a disgusting house that even the rats are having health issues
SALUDOS DESDE MEXICO
I love how the dogs are like: What rats? All I see are my favorite squeak toys.
This is why I don’t do pot lucks
I wouldn't touch anything in that house without gloves....
Cats are definitely iffy I had a cat we named mama and she would exclusively catch rats and mice. When we first got her she caught like 3 rats in the first weak. We had 2 other cats and they never caught a thing. Now have a cat that catches anything the moves birds, lizards, rats, frogs, bats, etc anything that moves.

Such a chaotic episode! Amazing work as always :)
I am kinda glad boss didn't come, because he wouldn't have been able to move around much with all the junk. It was even difficult for gypsy and Leia.
You guys need to collab again in the future, this was great! Sadly tho both of you were nerfed, you didn't have your mink and there was only half of the twins😔
It's like Super man meets the dynamic duo.

Joseph actually understands that cats are too lazy to hunt rats unless from a renowned mouser lineage love the knowledge this man has
So funny seeing that rat chasing the cat!
Certain breeds of cat may have better traits for ratting than others, yet like with Joe's puppy selection, one has to seek out the right characteristics in a cat to become a rat hunter and train to enhance their abilities as well as teach the cat to accept your assistance whenever you can provide it.
I kind of found it disappointing to hear cats don't catch rats.I really thought they caught them with ease
@@libbad7419 Rats are mean, stronger, and larger than a mouse. To a cat it could be too risky to go after one since they could get hurt. Dogs tend to be way larger than cats and have an easier time killing rats.
I really think it's Just the skittish nature of cats, even a small dog the size of a cat can take care of rats, and thier habit of playing with their prey is just unnerving, so many times my cat let a mouse go because he was playing with it.

And rats are snarter than mice too. Crafty little bastards.
We had a tuxedo tortoiseshell gal that was a hunting machine. She had a couple litters before we could get her fixed. She passed her hunting genes and skills to her daughters and they're just as efficient. They bring gifts to my dad regularly from the fields.
Best rat-catchers on UA-cam collab! This is big!
Unless you live in Australia, cats have a track record of going at snakes and stuff that fight back due to the environment here. That and some cats just like the challenge, even if it ends up being their last down here. This doesn’t mean all cats down here but a good amount.
Good try, Australia doesn't exist
The ideal dog for these difficult to access places would be the miniature pinscher.
