I made this last night. I went to Hmart and bought every ingredient on your list. It tasted amazing. Cant wait to eat it at 3 days. Thanks Maangchi. I love you and your channel!
I'm watching the drama 발효가족 and they make so many kinds of kimchi it's amazing! This one looks really good, and radish is my favorite part in baechu kimchi ^^
My mom said if a woman cant make kimchi, do not marry her. Love your videos, best recepies, varieties, high quality videos, i am amazed how fast you make these dishes, and the way you cut, chop things just amazing, I love various Greens dishes, since they help stay healthy, you are really top of my cooking videos, very talented. Thanks.
hi maangchi i am your avid viewer here in youtube i like ur recipes and also tried some of them very delicious, what i really like to korean foods is that very healthy and quickly to prepare....hope u make more recipes and enjoy sharing it to us more power and God bless.
Your meals always seem so delicious! If possible could you make like a 5 day journal(?) of what you eat every day. It' d be so cool to see what foods you eat.
"i wash off most of the red explosives as my mouth can't take it." If you happen to make it , use much less hot pepper flakes. I love ponytail kimchi, too!
I was looking for a cucumber kimchi recipe and came upon your channel. I went to my local Asian market and got all the ingredients I needed. Thank you Maangchi! I'm now subscribed after watching a few of your other videos. You're so funny! Hahahaha Thank you! Going to try to make this pony tail kimchi soon. 😊
Maangchi, I have two questions, 1) Does kimchi go bad if it is left outside for days? 2) What kind of rice do you eat? I've never seen the kind I see you eat, and it looks so delicious!
oh that's multi-grain rice. I posted the recipe on the forum on my website. Visit my website and type Korean multi-grain rice in the search box, then it will lead to the recipe. Good luck.
Hi Maangchi! Can you film more videos of you making more Banchan. I'm almost always satisfied with Banchan and a bowl of rice whenever I go out to eat Korean. My favorite is the pan-fried fish!
@isabel95 you shouldnt have trouble finding the radish but you might have trouble finding the radish with its leaves/stems still attached. best bet would be farmers market or growing them yourself.
Hi Maangchi! I make your recipes all the time & love them! I recently watched a Korean Vlog where the girl was eating ponytail radish kimchi & I thought “I’m sure Maangchi made an amazing one!” - and I was right! 😄 I live in Toronto, so would love to know the name of the radish farm you went to? Hope you see this because I’m so curious! Thank you for all your amazing videos & info, as always. 😊💕
Thank you so much for this recipe I've been looking for this for a long time. I just learned how to make the Napa cabbage Kimchee. Made my first 4 jars. Now I want to make your ponytail Kimchee and also your stuffed cucumber Kimchee. Thank you so much. I love your channel😊
I just LOVE your postings and I can't even begin to tell you what wonderful reviews I receive when I follow all of your tips. By the way, I've realized something that I'd love to share and others should consider. The American markets have terrible produce but when I go to the Korean markets - superior produce, spices and the like. In addition, the prices are better than American. We should consider shopping more at ethnic stores.
Hi Maangchi I notice your rice is a purple or brownish color sometimes do you add red beans to it? Btw I love all your kimchi videos since the first time I made your recipe. So good!
@Jakathera yes you can:) my mom likes to leave her fresh jar of kimchee in the sink for a day or two to speed things up. i prefer to stick in in the fridge and wait a week (i like my kimchee sour!). if you choose the fridge method, be sure to place a plate under the jar to prevent any liquid from spilling on the fridge shelf. that's for either store bought or homemade kimchee.
:D What a sweet story (on your website)! :). I feel like a nice video "special" would be for you to cover general cookings tips/skills, and not so much a recipe. For example, my green onions always wilt, and I never know which parts of the vegetables taste better than others or the best way to treat them... :) It would be wonderful to learn more about ingredients and how to treat them well!
@MrZakhmer - it is Korean hot pepper flakes, gochugaru. You can buy them at Asian grocery stores. They come in varying levels of spiciness and fine or coarser ground.
you're so cute and all of your dishes always look really nice and tasty i can't stop watching them. you remind me of my grandma and my mother somehow. finally thank you so much for working so hard on all of your recipes god bless you my korean mother :)
Yeah I think if i ever make kimchi, i will just sprinkle some flakes on. Hope the pepper flakes don't have too big a role in the fermentation. On a side note can i use daikon radish or cucumber instead of the pony tail kimchis as i will never be able to find pony tail ones here in Scotland.
She forgot to use onion and garlic sauces
I didn't mention but I added it right after adding the chopped green onion at about 4:30. I should have mentioned it. 👍
I made this last night. I went to Hmart and bought every ingredient on your list. It tasted amazing. Cant wait to eat it at 3 days. Thanks Maangchi. I love you and your channel!

Hi Mangchi~
your ponytail Kim chi looks so delicious I could even smell the beautiful aroma of your well made artwork~ ; )
chili powder is often a blend of spice (cayenne, cumin, garlic, salt, etc.) so it isn't interchangeable with red pepper powder.
