Nice work glad to see she's all sorted..... Extend your exhaust over the back with a dump pipe and water inject it on the dump.. That will quite her down a fair amount... The wee 253 in my jetboat has straight pipes with water injection and is pretty good...
@@motorfab it's on my neabours channel you'll be able to see the motor in this video.... Look up ( Classic Kiwi summer Holiday - Lake Benmore) it's the yellow steel hull jet boat. I'm the mad bugger that's driving it.🤠😎
Running unregulated bowl water pressure to the engine can blow out gaskets or freeze plugs. Hook up a test gauge to make sure is not excessive, if it's over 16lb you can restrict it at the bowl but use a screen before the restrictor to keep all the big stuff from getting in the system. Cheap jet boating is fun, I run a 1961 Hamilton on the upper Snake river in Idaho. The boat was free, 383 Chevy was $700, 3 stage pump is original & I modified a $100 Berkeley nozzle for it.
Love the look of that 2:1 drive assembly mate, what a beast! Surely someone out there can donate a balls out, 8000rpm 202 for this bad girl.... for science... hahaha.
your first timing belt drive was a great idea, just not quite big enough. this unit looks like it will handle the stress, only time will tell. as for the exhaust noise: running the tailpipe past the transom will reverberate less in the boat, and plumbing some of the cooling water into the exhaust pipe will quiet it a lot too
Love the vid mate. Little tip when you're using the rode mic i saw you had, by default it is a mono recording so it only sends it to the left ear. What you want to do is put it in stereo while editing so it comes out of both sides. Cheers mate.
The blue paint on the soft faced hammer looks like it was borrowed from a Tafe or school..... Got a few engraved/coloured tools from the government myself 🤣
I've watched the whole series, and I gotta say congrats on getting it running good! You've done one heck of a job 👍
Thank you!

I’m keen to see more of this 253 jet boat 🤔

Absolutely wicked mate can't wait to see more changes and engine work you come up with loved every video

It's great to see you back, love the channel and keep it up mate cheers 👍
Thanks buddy, really appreciate the support cheers
Maybe old but still gotta love the sound of an old red motor sound better with a set of extractors straight piped

Haha I’ve got enough revs now, I just have to man up and take it past half throttle. I just wanted to bring it home in tact for the first time ever 😂
@@motorfab that doesn’t sound like the motor fab way, needs some serious powers and revs and the noise mainly haha
One if your spark plug wires looks like a LAN cable 🤔 nice build.

that belt drive assembly is rad!!!
Thanks mate, it’s been a lot of hard work!
What is the belt off? Great setup I would like to do this with a Subaru E82 engine.
BIG TIP ! Put the exhaust pipe in the watter , keeps pipe/engine cool and gets rid of the sound !!

Legend, thank you very much! Well spotted on the mic too!
Is this able to be done legally at all?
she's a ripper mate nice job
Thanks mate
How fast does it go
I lol’d at 1:25 , blink and you’d miss em 😉
Editing mishap maybe haha
Keen as for an old school tuff 202 and gear that drive up a bit buddy
Needs a foot throttle also
Now it’s time for a turbo barra engine
We have some Barra content coming up in the next few weeks.
Is that a Holden red motor? 202
It’s a little 161
@@motorfab awesome thanks love your channel
need jetboat shirts!!!!
They’re coming 😉

I actually bought it from an old guy at the mudgeeraba swap meet for $10 a very long time ago. Best hammer I’ve ever owned
Finnigan has an in-depth look at her drives how to get max performance .
First giddy up.
