Loving these videos and looks great! How did you plan your routes? Do you use a specific app or anything? Some of the roads and trails look amazing. Keep pedalling 💪
@KeepSmilingAdventures Brilliant video, thank you. My wife and I are going to try this, you have inspired us. We will do it the other way, though. Could share your gpx, please? We don't want to do it on the roads. Thanks
Ryan you are an absolute monster and a wonderful person. I love everything you do and live these experiences through your videos. Life limits are something we all have to experience and appreciate. This by no means is a failure in anyway, it’s just reality and I know that you and I will share many more of your wonderful adventures in the near future. Stay strong and positive my friend!
Yikes! The north of England and Wales would have broken many a tough man. Amazing resilience, amazing Stoicism and a really great journey. Well played!💪
as an American who loves biking, I watch these kinds of videos looking for places to ride in the future! I absolutely hope to get around the world someday. Hopefully, by the end of the year, I can start making videos documenting my epic rides! You are an absolute inspiration, sir! Thank you!
I have just watched your whole journey...Thank you for sharing. Josh, you are THE man!! What a journey, what fantastic scenery, what crap weather...yet you always had a smile on your face 🙂 We didn't see, but did you really manage that trip with out hot food and drinks? Keep doing what you enjoy...you are made of tougher stuff than me. Terry
Thank you for your incredible video of your bike adventure. I live in Seattle, WA USA and we have riding here, but our hills are quite different than yours...no rolling hills here. Only vertical. I pedaled my indoor cycle with the resistance turned to high as I suffered along with you on your journey. I couldn't do the hike-a bike sections of course. We all appreciate your incredible stamina, willingness to keep going despite the inclement weather and accompanying physical discomfort, which you minimized, your interesting diet (lots of calories for sure) and eternal smile in the face of adversity. You are an inspiration for all!!!!
Stumbled across this unexpectedly but have just watched in one go. It draws you in. Great piece. The Scottish section looked fab but some of the sections further south looked like such a chore and admitted the fact that you rallied every day, particularly towards the end, and ploughed on. Thank you for sharing.
Mate fair play to you doing this in March. The mountains right across Britain can be brutal that time of year. Did my first bikepacking trip a few weeks ago, North Wales to South Wales. Would love to do a Scotland to Wales trip next year. Great video 👍
Great video - you are one tough bloke. I can't say you inspired me to do the ride - it is way to hard core. But looking forward to do doing a few overnighters - staying in hotels - next year. I also really appreciate the link to the map. Great idea!
Man I have to say - kudos. Even through the worst weather you had a smile on your face. Typical cyclist though - always imagining that at some point it'll be a tail wind. Also, who would've thought your best weather was going to be in Scotland! Congratulations - epic effort
Great video. Your videos have inspired me to get out on my bike, I did a bit of the river ayr way yesterday, really enjoyed it. I also got myself some rear panniers and a couple of fork cages. Keep up the good work
Brilliant effort, great editing on the video as well, would be interesting to see the bomb-track audax handle some off-road, look fwd to watching more videos
Fucking epic! Thanks man. Still can’t tell if you’ve inspired or discouraged me from doing this ride but I absolutely loved this films thanks heaps again.
Great personality, great great trip with energy inside! Nice to watch - I admire you. I'm just missing few basic stats, like - how many days did you spend on the bike? 🙂
Great film! I watched the entire thing - albeit in small instalments - and really enjoyed it. I'd be far too impatient to keep stopping and setting up the camera for all those great shots of you riding, but I loved watching it. 👍🏼
I did enjoy this, had to watch it again! I recognised some bits. I did a route named the EWE. (England -Wales-England) back in 2013 and spent many hours getting lost. GPS devices were not brilliant in those days. Like the route except the bit through Manchester. I will re-route to bypass it. Bristol's not great either but it skirts the edge by the looks of things.😀
did you just say bike gods hehe i like that are they from valhala? big up your self that s a awesome ride you just did . it s the kind of ridding i d like to do sometimes
Another stunningly beautiful trip. 😍 this was so breathtaking as are all your journeys I’ve seen so far. What’s the music you use for the background? They really finish the videos off perfectly. I honestly get emotional each time for some weird reason 🙄😂😂🤷🏼 I could watch these all day.
GB divide looks epic, well done. I felt your frustration with the goretex getting wet then later i was told that goretex is waterproof or breathable but not both at the same time, this allows moisture to build up inside! I have had various items work well untill the repellant that beads water off brakes down and that leads to this issue of wetting out. Keep smiling 🙂🤙
Is that all it does is rain and soggy over there. I don't think I would like it especially to do a bike packing tour. Great video! Shout out from Florida USA.
Great watch, thanks!! Can't help but think the ride might be a bit more enjoyable on a mountain bike? Also why did you choose to do it north to south against the prevailing wind? Thanks again
HI. GREAT VID.Could you explain how your sat nav work. And how you set it up.cos im thinking how it works in a car you know take the 3rd exit at a roundabout. But there aint any roundabouts up in the mountain's. Thanks shag
Congratulations, it's a hard journey. Unlike day rides or training rides, if the wind is against you and it rains, it could be doing so all the way. I used to ride regularly between Southampton and Edinburgh carrying all I need, self sufficient. How did you choose your kit? I agree BTW with another comment here that a small gas stove with aluminum pot etc. means that at least you can have a warm drink. Did you have to wash and dry clothing? With water, tools, spare clothes, food, something to wash and dry yourself with, you did well to get everything on the bike. Everything, I understand, is a compromise when self sufficient, but do you think that maybe some heavier duty wheels and tyres would be an advantage? I used to ride 32 mm tyres and use aluminum rims and tape spare spokes to the chainstay. When you were riding the off road sections with boulders and puddles, I was holding my breath. Thanks for this video, well edited, it recreated my past experiences.
Fantastic video. Can u tell me the make of the water filter please. Never tried filters before but would be ideal with the ammount if water i drink to just collect from streams. Is it 100% safe?
Hi Josh! I'm considering doing this route this summer. How would you rate the northern section of this route compared to the great north trail? I'm considering using the GB divide route for the sourthern section and the great north trail for the northern section. Cheers!
Great video man! I notice u didn't have a shower or visit a laundry. Were u just embracing the stink? lol I like to have clean clothes every now and then but u can easily waste half a day looking for a laundry and washing your clothes. If I go for too long without a shower people start to avoid me in built-up areas lol.

Fantastic josh😮😊👍👍❤️🇬🇧i never understand how you survive on junk food peddling such distances😮and never feel lag or bonking 😢Stay safe and sound mate
Yikes! The north of England and Wales would have broken many a tough man. Amazing resilience, amazing Stoicism and a really great journey. Well played!💪
I have watched this over the last 5 days, absolutely brilliant! Well done 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I like this better than those cinematic bulls**t bikepacking that doesn't even look like a vlog anymore. Keep up the good work man.

‘Keep Smiling Adventures’ - how apt. You’re a genius AND mad (March!?)! Loved you’re attitude throughout - great determination. Very inspiring.
Wonderful video. Excellent choice of music, too.

Epic journey man. Was the best two hours of my week. Thanks very much!
Loved it! what a journey
Fantastic videography and narration. Half way through the video but just wanted to say Hi!
Watched the entire video. Most excellent. A- grade...lol
Cracking video that. Chapeau to you. Terrible weather you had served up for a deal of the ride.
A brilliant and determined effort!
Just...amazing!
I have just watched this entire trip on my TV - absolutely riveting journey. You are awesome!!! New subscriber here 🙏. (York) 🐳
Great job! I’m gonna give this a go
Really enjoyed this. Epic stuff
Man I have to say - kudos. Even through the worst weather you had a smile on your face. Typical cyclist though - always imagining that at some point it'll be a tail wind.
Also, who would've thought your best weather was going to be in Scotland!
Congratulations - epic effort
feels so surreal seeing you cycling down the roads I commute on around Truro! this inspires me to do the journey myself
Thanks for that ,As I have very little hair I wear a Bandana in the summer ,it protects my neck from the sun & stops sweat running into my eyes .
Great video. Your videos have inspired me to get out on my bike, I did a bit of the river ayr way yesterday, really enjoyed it. I also got myself some rear panniers and a couple of fork cages. Keep up the good work
Outstanding effort ! Tremendous video, thoroughly enjoyed the trip, felt the highs and the lows .

Loving the videos man, I'm doing a bike trip myself here in the US soon!
Fucking epic! Thanks man. Still can’t tell if you’ve inspired or discouraged me from doing this ride but I absolutely loved this films thanks heaps again.
Love it! Hi from California!
Very well put together package of info, video (plus a bit of Für Elise on the uke). Cheers!
Great video Bruno, can't wait for the Seven Serpents vid 🙌, especially if you got any footage of the storm 😬
Great video and refreshing to hear bike travels in the UK quoting miles and not kilometres!!
People used to go for 10 mile rides, walks, runs. Now, they go for 10k..... I wonder why so many people are getting larger!?
Fantastic video

Hi Josh, I live just down the road from you (I’m in Pokesdown). Fancy doing an adventure together at some point?
Late to the party, but a great adventure as always! The Hercules(I think?) flying over was epic!

C-130 flying low level, very cool. I miss those days.
Great music and determination to push on. Why did you choose that time of year and did you retrieve your bike?😎🐸
Hey sir, i'm fan of your

Дивлюсь погода у тих краях сувора, небагато сонячних днів.
Great film thanks ,Were there any gates that you had to lift your bike over ?

Hi there! What is the name of your water filter devise please?
Fantastic video. Can u tell me the make of the water filter please. Never tried filters before but would be ideal with the ammount if water i drink to just collect from streams. Is it 100% safe?
Was funny to see that Herc coming up behind you under your arm pit....

Do you have a filter on your bottles? Or do you just take a risk drinking the river water?
Mate the Stagg Chilli is the shizz. It’s awesome with Corn Chips and sour cream :)
Great video & well done. It must be so much easier with a support vehicle and film crew ! 😂😂
i wouldn't know 😎
