One of my very first amps. The first brand new amp I ever had was a boss. It was a baby bluish color. Not very powerful until I bridged it. Then it did surprisingly well. I ran it on my first pair of subs which were the first MTX 10s. Then on some kicker 12s. Then some great pioneer 10s in truck box. Never had the amp mounted. Just layed behind the seat by the suns in my s10 and 88 Toyota. THAT AMP TOOK A BEATING!!! It was tough.. Tho I do wonder how a company like this has managed to stay in business. Great video Joe. Great video! That Boss amp isn’t anything special, but it does have a place in the car audio community. Because it has high level inputs and only costs $30, it’s an excellent candidate for juicing up factory speakers on a factory deck in your work car, truck, or van. Who care if it gets scratched or messed up so mount it under the seat and let your factory 6x9s come alive. After all, factory decks aren’t even 15 watts rms per channel…. At least I don’t think they are 🤣 There are slightly “better” option like the Taramps TL500 or the DS160x2 but those cost a little more. However, those amps are way smaller and easier to install/hide in a car. Keep up the good work! Love your vids!!
Great video, that amp is Boss entry level bare bones basic of basics. They sell because they are cheap and as long as people buy them ; Boss will sell'em. They are not any more powerful than a good quality head unit. Thanks for the video and it wasn't any surprise to me. There's no telling how many over the years that have been smoked from people dropping the ohm impedance load down too low and also people wiring as a bridged amplifier; and yes that magic smoke will boil out of it maybe obligate the fuse. And of course they send them back. LoL. Great video and keep on going if you can. One of my gfs used to be a buyer at an automotive audio distributor. She always told me stories about the shows, dealers only news etc back in the early 2k. But these companies are more successful at this than before because less and less folks know about how audio equipment/power works. (They think they know but they don't). Its the same as the "audiophile DAC" situation. You know what i am talking about. But Since the economy is ruthless those people venture out to try to save money and attempt to upgrade or install their audio by means of you tube tutorials and chat gpt. Hence why Boss, Pyle etc. are making a killing. There is just not enough extra cash, no will or desire to mow lawns to save for that RF like we did or justification on paying for pro installations or factory hi end option at dealer. This latest generation is broke, woke (they believe they are making corporate America a favor and thus want to get paid big money for doing nothing. They actually think AI will help them work smarter not harder). LMAO So whatever little cash they gather, gets spent on amps and speakers of this caliber.

Yes, I do get amps from eBay sometimes too. It still shows “ordered” on Amazon, but that’s how it’s been for like 3 weeks now. I may end up canceling it and trying to get it on eBay.

About to run 4 15"s with this amp lol. Of course I'm just going to try to match my old vulcan series 7 from back in the day with 2 kicker stitched comp 15"hit a 132 in my mini truck.
I knew what I was getting into with these of course was thinking of running 1 per sub, but i wanted to stick with 2 amps only was disappointed it wasn't bridgable @@stereomojo

Yeah, I should’ve done that! There certainly wouldn’t have been much risk. I’ll have to keep this in mind for something similar next time. This turned out to be one of those amps that I unboxed, shot the video, put on marketplace, and sold all in the same day. lol. I sold it for $20
@stereomojo can't complain about that. You had a 8.5/9 amp draw on a 7.5 amp, so surely it could produce just a bit more maybe another 5 to 10 watts with a slightly bigger fuse.

I'm going to invest in 2x 12" subs. I'm not sure yet which ones I'm going with but I'm going to put your amp on them.... It depends on what direction I'm going (SQ or SPL)... SPL, (I'll have to rework everything I've done but....) I'm going with ported (something I've never ventured into). 2x 12" ported with 1 of your amp on each one. If I stay with SQ. I'll put my Orion on the 2x 12s subs and the 2x 10s I have now.... And put your amp on the 2x 15s. ATM, I have 2x 12, 2x 15s on the 1 Orion 3600.D1 all wired @ 4 ohms. (I think the sealed enclosures for the 15s are too small by about a 1/2 foot.) At a certain frequency, they have an odd "dull-tud" sound. Or it may not be enough power.....idk, but the bass knob isn't even a quarter up and the gain is about a quarter up. I should start recording & uploading where I'm at on the car. I haven't because it's going to slow me up. If I had a gf I'd put her to work lol.
That amp looks like it's been sawed in half from a bigger one. It's shaped like something a carpenter would toss in the scrap pile.🤙🏻

Do a short with that Amp, pop a 10 or 15amp fuse in it for the giggles, See if it will increase power or not, sometimes you can squeeze a little more.

Several well known channels had the same drop in viewership. By a lot. It’s something to do with UA-cam algorithms ( as you just said as I type this).
Yeah, it definitely seemed like something was up.
Take a look at Quantum Audio QPX models, I had the 3000 watts model which is a sub amp, and there is a new model the QRX models.
