    Nice pro video, great job. That little mono block amp has what appears to have great full range potential. I have a 93 Roadmaster limited, I have just about finished restoring. (It was my mom's car) It had 6x9's in rear deck and 4x6 trasher speakers in the front doors. I upgraded the door speakers to a high end marine 6.5 two way and Kenwood concert 6x9. i like the sound of the concert series 6x9 Kenwood. I want to replace the marine flat line sounding door marine with the Kenwood concert 6.5" . Two of these amps for seperate left and right doors should do ok with the full range forward field and the Kenwood concert 6x9 on the blaupunkt 4 channel model 1500; in full bridged full range mode for the 6 x 9 Kenwood concert series in the rear deck.
    I have a 10" shallow mount Rockville in sealed box with a whimpy blaupunkt 1500 mono block amp on it. Probably upgrade to the Ocean 1200 for that (gain turned down not to smoke the sub and good clean bass). This is a big upgrade from the Delco factory with 3 blown channels. LoL. I'm using a 7 band EQ (line level) with front rear fader and complete bass control. Nice EQ.

    If you are on a budget and can't stand your OEM car stereo. These are worth a look. I've always thought Belva was the best entry level amp brand since they are Sonic Electronix house brand. And they too test over their rated power. Not quite as much, but you have a stronger name and history behind them. I've noticed all the Ocean Audio amps list a S/N ratio all say >102 dB for every amp. Hmmm. Rare to see any amp at this price have that good of a number. Belva lists 92 - 95 dB and are good sounding amps. Both brands are in the same price range.

    Great vid Mojo, this amp is little but impressive. I got one request if you can do a video on it, Epicentre digital sound processors. Doesn't have to be the expensive one, the cheapest will do fine for a video, I guess. I bought a Blaupunkt brand and will be grateful if you share your thoughts/knowledge with us. It would be appreciated if you can make a video about it in the near future. Love your videos bro!

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 2 місяці тому +1

      I can tell you right now that different brands function differently and will not sound the same.
      So far, I've tested out Kickers SHOCwave technology, the Wavtech Bassrestor and the Epicenter Micro. All 3 do the same thing in theory, but all 3 sound different.
      The SHOCwave doesn't have much adjustment, just level and basically adds bass. It's hard to hear what is actually going on. It's okay, though.
      The Bassrestor adds that second lower harmonic. If the original bass note is high enough you get some good separation between the it and the new lower note and it can sound good. If the original bass note is kinda low then you have two bass notes close together and they sound "muddy". Not clear.
      The Epicenter micro seems to pull down the original bass note as you turn up the effect knob. So the new lower bass note stays clear and crisp.
      My conclusion is that other companies are copying the basic subharmonic restoration circuit that Audio Control came out with 30 years ago, but Audio Control has other circuits that do more. Their secret sauce, so to speak. It definitely has the edge for sound quality.
      I haven't tested any of the cheaper brands, but it seems likely they're not going to match the Epicenter. (I've always seen mixed reviews with the cheaper units)
      Hope that helps.

      Eventually I hope to put the Epicenter and Bassrestor on the electrical rta and see what they are doing. It's just a little tricky to test them.

      @@JasonWW2000 great info Jason, much appreciated. It opened me to see the difference between brands. The reason I asked is because I'm not getting enough from my amp and needed to add something to boost or bring back the lost bass, I wouldn't touch the bassboost in my amp bc I hate it.

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 2 місяці тому +1

      @lifeislife_09 The amp bass boost is usually a single band eq at 45hz. It works okay for most people.
      Are you getting enough signal voltage to your amp?
      Make sure your ohm load is low enough to get what the amp is capable of.
      Make sure your source is giving you a flat signal down to 20hz.

    Couple of these for fronts would be great for the price! I'm wondering though in regards to setting gains, In a box tuned to 30hz am I better setting gains at 30 or is 40 still the go to?

    • @stereomojo
      @stereomojo  2 місяці тому +1

      @@sholtodepuma I would still use 40hz for 2 reasons. (1) It’s the industry standard and (2) It’s more representative (most likely) to the music you’d be playing. If you were only doing burps at 30hz, then I’d use 30hz. We’re going to be setting the gain on my Son’s new amp today, and we’re gonna use 40hz, even though his box is tuned to 31hz.
