    I started cruising in 1978 with my Grandmother. It was an inside cabin and loved every minute of it. Now that I'm cruising with my family, I try to get all the bells and whistles that my budget can afford.

    Yay! I’m an inside cabin fan because I guess I’m a vampire and can’t sleep with any light whatsoever. Love a balcony view but love my sleep more (Alaska cruises excepted). This inside cabin looks super nice! I’ll add this to my list of motivating factors to spring for a Disney cruise.

    From our experience we picked inside so we had more money for shopping and excursions. Yes the balcony is nice.. and very expensive on the Alaska trip.. but we found that we spent a lot more time outside of the room exploring and meet and greets that the room was only used for a quick stop to relax and sleeping. Something to consider.. more shopping or a nicer room with a view.. only you know what's best for you!

    I love that inside cabin. I wish carnival had a port hole window like that. I think it's a wonderful idea.

    I'm always a proponent of interior cabins for those who rather cruise often than an occasional more costly experience. Generally little time is spent in a cabin anyway so to me it make sense. Don't go home having to pay your cruise vacation off for the next year!

    We've been on Disney Dream and it was FABULOUS! We were in a balcony room which I would highly recommend. However, the inside Stateroom does look very nice. All Disney ships are BY FAR our favorites of any/all cruise ships. Yes.. they are more expensive but WELL WORTH the added cost!!

    My husband and I had an inside guarantee cabin on the Dream and it is still one of the best staterooms we have had yet! We loved how quiet our cabin was, the beds are super comfortable and I loved that interactive porthole. Loved the complimentary room service for Mickey bars and the bathroom is awesome.

    Thanks for highlighting the inside cabin. It's very much appreciated. Regarding the closet storage space used by the life jackets, consider moving them to another spot in the closet or shelf area. Also, they can be moved under the bed but I would recommend a location close to the edge of the bed for ease of access if actually needed. At the end of the cruise, it's nice to return to the original location.

    We only booked a balcony once now we only book an inside cabin since it saves a lot of money and we sleep so much better because it’s dark and cozy. Trust me I do bring a night light so I won’t stop my toes. Plus we figure if we want to view the ocean, which we do, we walk to the with the open views.

    My husband and I have sailed with Disney Cruise Line a total of 4 times.....(the most recent sailing was last month).....once on the Dream and thrice on the Fantasy. We've only stayed in a balcony cabin once (mostly because we were traveling with a friend and needed the extra space), but the other trips were all spent in an Inside Deluxe Cabin, with the split bathrooms. In fact we prefer the inside cabins, especially because of the "magic porthole"..........so much fun watching your favorite characters float by.....LOL.

    Oh man Disney is the big bucks, I usually love sunlight but the porthole is a cool feature to give you not complete darkness when you’re trying to wake up. Great video as always!

    We had a standard inside stateroom on Disney Wonder once. It was me and my 3 kids and we had plenty of space! It was considerably larger than the balcony stateroom that we had recently on Holland America's Eurodam. An inside stateroom is a great way to be able to afford an otherwise expensive cruise, and they are great for getting good sleep!

    Hey J. We are balcony folks after a few tight interiors but this is a very spacious interior. Thought it was deluxe. Oh. Like the virtual porthole. Love a vanity/desk chair 🪑 with back support. Don’t like the ottoman type seats. Even this bathroom is a good space in comparison. Thanks for the cabin tour and the pros and cons.

    We were on an inside on Independence of the Seas. The room was so dirty. It was small which was okay, but it was filthy. My husband dropped an earplug and went to look for it. There was at least a half inch of dust under the bed and behind the bedside table.

    As a frequent cruiser (4-5/yr), I like an inside cabin. Friends told me when I started cruising that a balcony was required. Tried a few and then booked an inside and love it. I am going to try my first solo cabin in March on NCL's solo room for a transatlantic. I'm single, 65, and tried a Disney cruise. Not for me. Service seemed down and I think it was due to everything that they had to do for the "Disney" experience. But, am glad Disney is there so, hopefully, the families will cruise them and other lines will be more mature passengers.

    • @JJCruise
      @JJCruise  Рік тому +1

      Completely understand as Disney is definitely not for everyone.
      Enjoy your solo inside room on NCL! We know those are close quarters but highly coveted for the solo pricing!

      I am in my late 50s and most of the time cruise solo…I WONT SAIL ON ANYONE BUT DISNEY! The service and attention to detail is above and beyond other lines. Are you saying I am not mature?

  • @user-yj7et5pd9j
    @user-yj7et5pd9j Рік тому

    I recently stayed in my first inside cabin on the NCL Bliss to Alaska. The room itself satisfied my needs as solo cruiser…but I would not want to share with anyone else. I had a very odd configuration to my room and felt as if it was a “leftover” space situation used to fill space (kinda zig-zag floor plan…think a Z). I did a guaranteed cabin and would probably not do that again. Plus the bed was extremely uncomfortable as the mattress was directly on top of a metal base. However, for the savings I had, it was worth it. Plus the bathroom was a good size!

    I was just curious so I did a comparison between DCL and NCL. First of all no casinos on DCL... which is a deal breaker for me. But, let's assume I don't gamble. For 4 people in an interior cabin for the Eastern Caribbean route, the price is pretty close to equal the same itinerary and # of passengers on an NCL ship in The HAVEN! To compare apples to apples, the Concierge Cabin on DCL would be nearly triple that amount! And, that doesn't include any drink or dining package that is included with NCL.
    If I ever decide to sail on DCL it'll be a short one because nothing else was available. Their interior cabins are very spacious though. I'll give them that.

    • @JJCruise
      @JJCruise  Рік тому +1

      Please remember that NCL and DCL are different levels of cruise lines.
      NCL is Mainstream (Basic)
      DCL is Premium
      So yes, comparing the Haven to DCL standard cabins would be more Apples to Apples (service and quality-wise) than NCL standard to DCL standard. 😊
      That said, we completely understand Disney is not for everyone budget wise and the Mainstream lines are way more of the way to go to get the most “bang for your buck”. ☺️

    Do most of the cabins on Disney have a step-over bathtub vs a shower? As someone at an age where I'm looking ahead to accessibility in cruise ships, I can see that Disney is definitely catering to families who probably appreciate the tub vs the older folks who would struggle with it. This makes perfect sense, but I just found it interesting!

    • @JJCruise
      @JJCruise  Рік тому +1

      Yes-the shower/tub combo is the standard for most Disney cabins. It is something that totally caters to families before anyone else. Definitely not our favorite thing about Disney, but we understand the rational behind it.

    That's not a normal sized inside stateroom for Disney, you got a big one. Normally the bed is positioned against the wall across from the door, and there's barely room on both sides of the bed.

    • @JJCruise
      @JJCruise  Рік тому +2

      Per Disney’s website our cabin category was 169 SQ FT of space. Per what Disney is telling us, this is the lowest category of inside stateroom, the next step up is a Deluxe Inside stateroom at 204 SQ FT.
      We’ve stayed in inside staterooms on other cruise lines that were 120 SQ FT and could really feel the difference.

      We have definitely found some premium cruises at better price points than others for budget conscious cruisers. Disney provides a premium expert for families that is unmatched for families so we understand the higher price point.
      Definitely not for everyone though. 😊
