Hey Dumitru, I followed this video and fixed the horn. However I now have issues with the indicator, it is the same problem as yours so I hope your experience could help. My indicators won't self-cancelling after I complete a turn, either left or right. Since there is no mechanical cancelling switch. So how did you get it fixed? please tell me this is extremely annoying!
Don't ever try to remove plastic wheel the way it is done at 7:10! The pin is locked to the case and should pressed out from behind with a small torx for example, without force applied to the board.
Worked perfectly, thank you! I didn't have the problem with the lights/volume switch, just that the horn stopped working. Fuses were okay and I had already replaced the wiring loom under the airbag. Also, no power was reaching horn, so concluded it had to be the cim. Fairly straightforward to do but had a little trouble re-attaching the black ring thing that sits under the centre of the cim casing. Took me forever to re-align it properly so that it would sit in place correctly, prior to putting the three attachment screws back in. Took a bit of working out but got there eventually. Bit like a jigsaw puzzle! My indicators were also starting to play up, not always catching on the first/second time. This is another known fault I believe with Astras. Not only annoying but can be dangerous. This was an easy fix by cleaning the contacts while the cim was in two pieces. Indicators now working perfectly. I am slightly puzzled that my cim did not have a small white code wheel fitted. However, everything seems okay without it!

Hi! So i've followed this guide and got success results! I had problems with the horn and left radio controls module so i followed this guide to open the CIM module. I applied a special product for cleaning and lubricating electrical contacts (don't use WD40..), didn't have to scrape, just cleaned ALL contact points. I also did an additional thing: I soldered the board external connectors (There are three of them). The connectors are not soldered to make the outer plastic box separate from the CIM board, and they are fixed to the PCB using special "legged" pins with no solder that might loose it's effectiveness over time. All works fine now! Thanks again insaneinvader!
Excellent guide. The clip 'fix' vauxhall fit FOC basically is a 10min job. The steering wheel need not be removed nor the airbag. INDICATOR CANCELLATION ISSUE UPDATE: The black disc 4:36 will not spin indefinitely. You get about four or five turns (each with its own potential re-centre point). If you put the steering wheel back on and it's not in the correct re-centre point, the auto indicator cancellation may not work. To fix this, whilst the wheels are straight, I had to count all the turns in the black disc, and align the re-centre on the turn in the middle rotation. I hope this helps.
Ive just done this and works perfectly. I was having issues with the left indicator not working sometimes as well as the horn and steering wheel buttons and they all work well now.
Kind off did everything accordingly, but in the end the horn doesn't work even with lights off.. Did take it apart one more time, and cleaned again, will see what happens now. Thanks, my horn did not work at all, not even with on/off light, did this and it works now. Opel astra h 2008 gtc After the fix i got the 450 and 600 error codes that was caused by incorrect code circle thing placement. BEFORE DOING ANYTHING MAKE SURE THAT CODE CIRCLE DID NOT ROTATE AND CIM MODULE ROTATES 2 TIMES TO LEFT AND 2 TIMES TO RIGHT. DO NOT REPEAT MY MISTAKE
@@mattsmith6158 I just got it fixed today, it was caused by bad code lock rotation it was a bit to side so it had to be placed as it was before. I tried contacting official Opel center and they thought that steering just needed some alignment and for that cim module code is required. Cim module code did not work, because code lock was moved a bit to the side. So i left official opel center and tried to find local opel electric, he said code lock was rotated a bit, so with computers help knew how to placed it into default position also he said he refreshed something in cim module software. So my advice, dont go to official opel center , look for local electric and explaim what was done.
Sorry i did not answer your question, from horn point of view, it never worked so all i did is cleaned the contacts. Please do not rotate code circle by accident or you will have same issues as i mentioned above. Also make sure cim module is clicked into spot where it is possible to turn at least 2times to left and 2 times to right

Señor, es usted un monstruo. O dicho en su idioma. You are really big. Sir. I am having the problem at the left control of the wheel. If I cannot resolve in other way, the next weekend, I will do as you have explain so clearly. Thank you very much for your work.
Yay I did it, was a bit of a fluff but sorted,
Thanks for the great video..👍
This is great ,with the help of the video I was able to service my Astra H horn thanks.
Try this first…. Loosen the steering wheel then go ape on it pulling back and Forward. This fixed mine 👌
Ive just done this and works perfectly. I was having issues with the left indicator not working sometimes as well as the horn and steering wheel buttons and they all work well now.
Do you remember what you did for left indicator to start working again?
This is the same person on a new account. Think I just cleaned it and put it back together. Had to replace the CIM 18 months later anyway.
man ur the best had my mot failed but followed ur tutorial and all fixed in 30 min!!!
This takes me back. On mine, if the lights were on, the horn wouldn't work but it would turn the music up
I think Vauxhall should have done this video as it's there fault in the first place.👍nice video mate
Kind off did everything accordingly, but in the end the horn doesn't work even with lights off.. Did take it apart one more time, and cleaned again, will see what happens now. Do anyone have some ideas what could be the problem?
UPDATE: After second cleaning and reinstalling - everything works! You are the best! Can't thank you enough!
Martins Duboviks faulty horn it’s self
One of the best videos ever made thank you keep up the good work
Вы большой молодец, спасибо вам огромное, благодаря вам все сделал все работает, спасибо!!!
You a star! Happened on my 1.8 Astra and on my current VXR. Going to try this one weekend :)
Thank you very much, just fixed my horn with it. It had exactly the same problem!
Can’t thank you enough for this , works perfectly now , great video !!
SEI GRANDE. Video instructor utilissima spiegato abbastanza bene .trovo il tempo e lo provo
EXCELLENT TUTORIAL...FIXED HORN IN HALF HOUR,MANY THANKS
Thanks ...Worked well, the only thing now is my High Beams don't seem to work anymore...Bugger
Yeah with mine also and the rear wiper also dont work nd after a test drive horn fails again.
And i even soldere the connector with wires.
I guess its more than just that tiny connector
Wspaniale! Naprawione , dzięki wielkie !
Thanks for this video. I have a turn signal problem on my vectrA C ( and is not form the lamps), so Ihave to do it like you ( clean and solder).
Hi, great video, very precise! I've used it to repair horn and ignition key not working from time to time. But now I can not calibrate the the steering angle sensor with OPCOM. SAS offset stays on 128 and when I press calibrate it's doing something then it stops and can not calibrate. Steering angle changes when I turn the wheel. Do you know maybe how to fix that?
Did you ever solve this mines done the same ?
Yes, finally did make it, the problem was the code- I had to input the code first.
@@DIY-up6us I have a problem that I can't calibrate the SAS, after starting the calibration, basically nothing happens. OP-COM does not ask me for a carpass or do I still have to enter it before I start calibrating?
Thanks a lot! This works for me too for my Astra H GTC 2009
Thanks for the guide. However Opel should have recalled this problem given the number of affected cars.
They tried fixing my 2008 astra h vvti 1.8 sri 3x and 1x at independent.
They all focus on the clip. Even in 2017 the vx dealer does not know how to fix this problem. No charge for work because they seriously do not know how to fix. If your car over 10yrs or 100k miles so all astra H now VX not interested in contributing.
At least my car not got the M32 gearbox that seizes found on vxr and 150bhp diesel astra h.
Awesome video worked for me. But after about 1 year the horn is nog working anymore (Astra H 2004) I think I will fix it by soldering as you suggest.
Thank You very much mate ! You helped me to fix the problem ! Thanks again and regards from Italy !
Hey buddy , does this also work for the corsa C 2008?
thanks so much. did this carefully step by step and everything works good as new!
i dont have astra h also yours video is the best of guide
Thanks, my horn did not work at all, not even with on/off light, did this and it works now.
Opel astra h 2008 gtc
After the fix i got the 450 and 600 error codes that was caused by incorrect code circle thing placement.
BEFORE DOING ANYTHING MAKE SURE THAT CODE CIRCLE DID NOT ROTATE AND CIM MODULE ROTATES 2 TIMES TO LEFT AND 2 TIMES TO RIGHT. DO NOT REPEAT MY MISTAKE
Mine has the same issue on an 07 astra, did yours not work no matter what then?
Also make sure cim module is clicked into spot where it is possible to turn at least 2times to left and 2 times to right
Hi all, I have same problem with horn, and have followed this tutorial at the end, but problem was not on connectors described in this tutorial. Actually it is in connector where air bag is, @3,17 , copper one circle shape on the left. Just freeze the video at 3.18 min, and you will see it. After scratched it with screw, my horn worked emediatly, no matter if lights are on or off.
Thank you from Bosnia
This now is very helpful I've learned a lot thank you very much
great video man!!!!....in my astra gtc have the same problem!!!!.....unbelievable that the problem is due to that!!!!!
Can you get to the contacts without removing the cogs?
Brawo dla opla. Oszczędności nie zawsze sa dobre. Jeszcze raz brawo.
Pozdrawiam.
Thank you for your instructions. This helped me a lot.
Is this method works for the car won't start problem too?
Hi I have the same problem. Do you know what the part nr is please. Vauxhall don't know this when I asked for a CIM clip. Many thanks
Hi, can someone please help me, Where would I find a wiring/pinout diagram for the yellow connector at 2:04. Thanks
My horn turns my volume up on the radio. Will this fix that too. Thanks
Mine newly bought Astra H EcoFlex 2009 likes to do that too!
@@janissilis1707 I fixed mine. Loosen the steering wheel knob. And just go ape on it back and forward 😂 it fixed mine 💪
Funcionó la solución #1. Claro y pragmático, gracias.
Can a cim cause problems with imobilisser . Like cim not reading the key

Great job. Same problem here. Opel zafira 07.. Ireland.. Thanks
