I love that the academy has things like elevators, copiers, and what I'm guessing is an X-ray machine security system for people using the teleportation circle. It's like an airport, only with a much shorter line!
"... I'll kill you! DIE!" "We've heard that before..." "He casts [REDACTED] at you." I love the way that Monty Martin keeps on conjuring up great villains, one after another.
Sébastien - you know what's most upsetting, he died thinking he killed us. I was just waiting for Pluto Jackson to say -, let's resurrect him so he knows I didn't kill us and then kill him again lmao

"Seriously guys, just a reminder, to not use teleportation magic to skip up the floors. Extreme warning of danger." "Any plan is good, aside from using teleportation magic to skip up the floors. Seriously, don't even try that." Later: "So which plan are we going with, bursting in, or using teleportation magic to skip up the floors?"
If you're just tuning in for the first time, really you should check out this campaign from the beginning, it's really good. The good news about doing that is you have a lot to watch before you catch up, meaning waiting for the next episode will be minimised.
I love how each of them has gotten super powerful but they wear it in different ways. Veo is just a super efficient no nonsense killer. Sebastian is nervous about unleashing his full power, but still wrecks with fireballs etc. And then you have Pluto that screams Ignatius, kicks down the door, leaps off the bridge and pulls out the full hero pose whenever he can.
Watching Pluto chain kill enemies with flare is so epic. Knowing the intricacies of his class while still maintaining that Pluto style has made every encounter enjoyable!
Your timeing is perfect, just got done with all the back logged episodes. Recently started playing and watching you all has taught me alot! I've enjoyed every second of it, thanks to all of you folks for the hard work. Can't wait for more!

Omg, Sabastian suggesting the short rest and watching Monty’s anticipation hoping to make them all sick if they forgot… priceless, literally why I watch this channel!
Oh MAN WHAT AN EPISODE!!!!! Everybody brought their best today! When you think one player can claim MVP for this one something insane happens next, From Pluto’s Jump up and traversing 80Ft. To Veo Blasting a MASSIVE Crystal, not doing the most damage with that arrow, however that arrow resulted in her biggest one attack total damage thus far. Oh boy... What's WITH these suicidal bad guys? Man itwoulda been so cool if Pluto chopped Oscars head in half and then one half stared at him and the other at Sebastian so that both their wishes would come true.
To quote an obscure WoW Lich King NPC, fittingly undead, "What an... explosive ending!" But I'll enter a few spaces below for spoiler reasons in case someone just scrolls past, before continuing. I almost feel Monty wasn't entirely planning for the suicide bomber use of the Staff even if he kept the possibility in mind (and successfully used it). Glad Oscar didn't escape, I rather wanted to see the bugger blown to pieces like he is now, and not becoming the second coming of Shane the Shy. Part of me thinks the team could've prepared a bit better for the Oscar encounter, but if anything, it's character-fitting they did not - they have every reason to be extra mad at him for what he pulled and an obvious villain turn. And it's very satisfying to see an NPC previously set up as rather unlikeable and annoying quite literally blown up at the end of a climactic confrontation against him. Glad to see there'll be more fun had with the tower, too. I hope there'll be a way to reassert control over it but that it'll require yet more skullduggery. On an entirely side note, after playing a bit of Darkest Dungeon earlier, I can't help but feel strong similarities between the Colour of Madness content and delirium - I forget if I ever said it before, but it bears repeating for the fun of it. An "alien" substance from space replete with/composed of magic, able to grow and "infect" other objects and creatures and mutating them hideously, and able to warp gravity, and also possible to make a power-boosting potion/substance from... Me, I really like that DLC, so I definitely am pleased something similar is going on, whether influenced by it or not.
~2:15:00 - Would this work: 1. Spend an action to look through the familiar's eyes 2. Spend Sorcery points to quicken Thunderstep and cast it as a Bonus Action 3. Profit A legit question, I'm not that deep into D&D mechanics, but using your familiar's senses would not be a cast spell and therefore Thunderstep should still be good to go.
They keep edging danger: talking about using the cloak to go upstairs, completely forgetting that Eldridge said that if you try to teleport between floors you might end up caged (I can't remember exactly though so maybe they were never in danger and I was anxious for no reason). Edit: I hit send right when pluto dimension doored.
Oh no, Monty, you didn't have Oscar roll his Dex save to see if he was trapped in the Web spell and able to snap the rod. That could have changed a lot 😬
I would have had him do his Dex save and if he failed make him do a strength check to see if he was strong enough to break the staff while fighting against the webs. This is one of those situations that logic should trump RAW.
Also, couldn't Sebastian have used his action to see through Crowley and then used quickened spell to cast Thunderstep? Or would you have ruled that this wouldn't work Monty? Actually really curious on what you think here.
I'm not Monty but I'd say no. The range of Thunderstep is technically Self, not Touch. You could cast it if your body was within 90' of your destination, but the spell would originate from your body. You also need to be within 100 feet of your Familiar within 90' and your destination at the same time.
I think I did address that in the middle. If the intent is to teleport yourself using the Familiar to satisfy sight of the target location, you just need to be within 100' of your Familiar and 90' of your target destination. There's no rules saying you have to be using your own sight to cast a spell, so it shouldn't be an issue in that case. But you could not fly your Familiar into a group of enemies and cast Thunderstep to damage them, because the spell would originate from you, the caster.
So normally I watch on the live stream but i got behind so am catching up. My favorite part is that veo obliterated her record of damage record and set the new with 147. Hope to see her break that one. :)
Strike point rules (mostly for ranged) combat roll a D'6 with your hit die.Near misses and barley hit's (an armor class of 18 will trigger this with an 18 or 19) hit the limb indicated on the die. You can run this at half damage natural zero's still miss as well as limbs covered by cover missing limbs and shielded arms.
@@crownlexicon5225 Someone said ranged combat was kinda dry This would be accurate.I made this to slice and fry the spam effect. It's a mini game that can be attached to ranged combat through armor class. Each limb is assigned a number on the six sided die. Causing arm's legs and head shots if they do not fully evade.
@@isaackarr6576 I think I understand a bit more now, but you still made it difficult by calling the die you roll to hit the "hit die" because hit dice are what you may expend on a short rest to regain health. My issue with it is that, from my understanding, the attacked limb is random; theres no way to target specific limbs
@@crownlexicon5225 Nope this is the rough math if your aiming center target and go off center. The target is wider than the arrow after all.I also prefer if you miss fully rolling a D'20 for any one based with the target.I myself have trouble when material dematiralises mysteriously (I am ok when it's magically charged though.
Pluto Jackson, MVP. I think Veo was hungover or something, because her dice were not cooperative. Several times I was thinking, "here comes the artillery", only to see miss, miss, miss.
Sebastian: I have a huge pile of scrolls, I should really remember to use them *30 minutes later* completely forgets to use any scrolls lmao After Oscar used cone of cold, instead of using web , he should have totally used the cone of cold scroll and fired his own back at Oscar finishing the job.
That's some library.... nothing like the one I work at. XD I'm sure the people that work reshelving books would love books that just went back into their own places on the shelves. lol Epic battle music. Kill Gemma! Such cool moves! And Mage killer paid off. lol "Let's make his eyes face two different ways" lol. NOOO! Don't teleport!... okay...I thought they'd end up in teleportation jail, but still not good. ...Kelly needs new dice... I hope he got new dice after this. So many horrible rolls. :( Nice move Veo/Jill. lol Yay for Hero's Feast! Yay for Joe remembering they're immune. After the staff thing I'm wondering what their HP is like... How much life did they have left at the end?
Ugh, I think I have finally watched every video you guys have ever made, took me about 3 solid weeks... Maybe it was 4,somewhere between 3 and 4😜. Most are great, some of the earlier ones, eh. Love the live play, even though I find myself screaming at my phone trying to give advice, lol. If you are interested here is what I would like to see in the future. I'd like to see how you guys handle henchman, hirelings, familiars, that sort of thing. What if a PC wanted to buy a dog, falcon, monkey, etc, and train it to attack? How would you handle that inside your games? you support some sort of cohort feed like they did in 3rd Edition? And if so how would you implement that into 5th edition? Recently in the game when everybody had 9th level everybody pretty much got some sort of a title or recognition from the different factions. I think that's an important step and I don't really see that happening a lot in a lot of the campaigns that I've played in and it certainly doesn't happen as much as it should. I think a whole segment on getting titles and how to be recognized as a lord or lady or an archmage and what that really means in game terms would make a really great video. So you mentioned the whole bloody condition for 4th edition and you say that you implement that and some of your house rules but does that come with an Associated penalty or just a verbal cue to let the players know that you got them down halfway? What are your thoughts about implementing some sort of maneuverability rule like from 4th edition? Because really that was the only thing that I really like that a fourth edition was the fact that you were able to control the battlefield by doing combat maneuvers. Love to see a segment where you guys Delve little bit deeper into cool multiclassing builds. As much as I really enjoy Kelly playing and Monty dming I'd really like to see the situation reversed so I can see Monte play and Kelly DM, is that in progress somewhere down the pipeline? Have you guys ever given a thought to hosting two live streams a week, one with Kelly dming and Monte playing and then of course the other one where Monte is dming and Kelly is playing? At first I could see why you would just do one and obviously it's more of a time commitment for both of you and whoever else you get to play in Kelly's game but I think that you have enough and now that would actively watch both and I think you should consider it. I think it'd be fun to have a combat reenactment segment. Things from your guys's private games where the combat was very unique and something outrageous happened that was unexpected and the players got out of a really tight situation and then you can do like a 5 or 10 minutes segment where you break out the minis break down everything that happened and maybe even re-enact that battle because really that's a lot of the fun is when you can actually break down a battle and have something just totally outrageous happen that wasn't expected. I think a segment where you go by each spell level of spells and breakdown your favorites and unique ways that you can use individual spells would be pretty cool. Obviously there's a lot of used that is made out of the 1st 2nd and 3rd level spells because that is kind of in the game sweet spot but nobody ever really breaks down here is all the 6th level spells and here's what's really good in situations that arose when we cast the spell, as an example. Obviously doing 6 level Spells Of The Wizard and then another we could doing 6th level spells from the cleric and then another week doing six level spells from the Druid might be in order since there are so many spells so this segment could carry on for quite a long while. Just my thoughts in a few things that I'd like to pick your brains on and if you want to do segment on them fantastic. If you don't you could always shoot me your private message and just answer them individually because I'd really like to know how you guys handle things like titles and henchmen and that sort of stuff. My only real criticism of you guys is that the earlier stuff was way too short and that just might have been you guys trying to get familiar with getting a rhythm. And then of course I've already commented before that it drives me crazy when Kelly disengages from the camera and looks down like he's trying to read a crib note off of the table. I think he's got a lot better at that and some of the newer videos which I'm really happy about,. I do have Canadian friends so listening to your guys's accent sneak in every once in awhile doesn't really bother me but it is noticeable at times and it does distract slightly. on the plus side, I really enjoyed Monty's breakdown on things and I really enjoy some of the insights that Kelly gives on different situations. It seems obvious that Monte has a lot more experience but it is kind of refreshing that you guys play off of each other and it seems organic and not forced. you guys do go into a lot of depth into a lot of different things but there are also times where I just want you to go into some more things and a little bit more detail and then you cut it short and switch directions and that can be kind of annoying but I also understand that if you did a full detailed breakdown of everything that you ever tried to do each video would probably be about two or three hours. which at this point I would be okay with but I get. Double ugh, I was not going to buy dragon Heist, dungeon of the Mad Mage, or Volos guide to monsters oh, but I did watch a reviews on those and I did decide after watching your reviews that they would be good purchases. Does the yawning portal book go with the dragon Heist and dungeon of the Mad mage? I think you guys are both great and I can't wait to see what's next.

You're not addressing what I meant at all, I meant that you'd follow the rules for everything else, but only subbing in your familiar for sight.
Callen Fields if I am not mistaken he only meant to use Crowley as eyes to “see” the destination of the thunderstep
What a rollercoaster!!!
Did Oscar make his dexterity save for the web sebastian cast on him at the very end before snapping the staff?
How did Gemma/Jemma escape the Hood Lanterns? Wasn’t she captured and only Oscar dimension doored out?
For Pluto's amusement 1:28:04
So normally I watch on the live stream but i got behind so am catching up. My favorite part is that veo obliterated her record of damage record and set the new with 147. Hope to see her break that one. :)
1:16:26 Monty's look of regret LOL
1h 42 min and I'm waiting for them realize Pluto could take the fly potion and carry one, the other could take gaseous form.
First time watching on UA-cam, Kelly looks the most like his voice lol.
I'm sorry, could you explain that again? I dont quite understand
Oh and thank you for the advice with description writing is void without comprehension
Give the potion of flying to Pluto!!!!
That moment when the GM forgets that mold earth only has a range of 30 feet and he just allowed it to be used 100 feet away ;-;
Just imagine if Sébastien summoned the dragon!
Fun Fact: Auto subtitles thinks Oscar’s surname is Urine.
This one was sooooo cool !
Pluto Jackson, MVP. I think Veo was hungover or something, because her dice were not cooperative. Several times I was thinking, "here comes the artillery", only to see miss, miss, miss.
Dang. Spoke way too soon. Shoulda waited until after the Oscar battle when Veo was finally able to put on her rally cap.
TSA: Drakkenheim @ 39 minutes
2:32 Vao forgot her sneak attack dice
It sounds like the librarian had a rod of absorption, if I'm not mistaken
2:37:50 Wait, was that a Dinner for One reference?
Sebastian: I have a huge pile of scrolls, I should really remember to use them
*30 minutes later* completely forgets to use any scrolls lmao
After Oscar used cone of cold, instead of using web , he should have totally used the cone of cold scroll and fired his own back at Oscar finishing the job.
The long overdue next session. XD
1:24:00 Ignatius is cursed, isnt it? I forgot what that entails, but I thought it was disadvantage on attacks with weapons other than him
Isnt synaptic static auto psychic damage THEN a save is needed?
I started watching this series about 12 months after its premiere and also dropped out about a year ago. This episode's title is sooo ironic 😅
That's some library.... nothing like the one I work at. XD I'm sure the people that work reshelving books would love books that just went back into their own places on the shelves. lol
Epic battle music.
Kill Gemma! Such cool moves! And Mage killer paid off. lol
"Let's make his eyes face two different ways" lol.
NOOO! Don't teleport!... okay...I thought they'd end up in teleportation jail, but still not good.
...Kelly needs new dice... I hope he got new dice after this. So many horrible rolls. :(
Nice move Veo/Jill. lol
Yay for Hero's Feast! Yay for Joe remembering they're immune.
After the staff thing I'm wondering what their HP is like... How much life did they have left at the end?
Pluto and Sebastian...I ship the bromance
Why does Veo uses the crossbow rather than her magic bow? Does it have some benefits?
