- This Is A One Best Performances Of Oscar Peterson! First Version Is From Live In Belgrade 1961 And Second Version From Peterson's Solo Album!
Marvelous maestro pianist! His muzik legacy will still remains. Greetings from Jazzman Kuala Lumpur.
❤Ich liebe Oscar!!!!!! Der Mann war und ist der beste Jazzpianist für mich!!❤
What more can be said about O.P.? He was a very humble man who sat at the top of the mountain and gave us the most delightful music to enjoy. Let us also recognize the brilliance of Ray Brown and Ed Thigpen; by Oscar's words,
they pushed him to limits that he never imagined. Thank you for sharing.
Omg after listening to this, I no longer have a normal face expression for the rest on the day. This is one of the many reasons why Oscar Peterson is the greatest jazz pianists of all time
Melodically and rhythmically brilliant. Harmonically more limited.
Agreed!!!

I think you will enjoy listening to Oscar Peterson interview with Dick Cavett.
@@carlbaldassarre1049 Go listen to Mirage, I wised on the moon, Indiana and tunes like that. You only say that because the harmony is passing by so fast you don’t have time to hone in on it. But he was more advanced in ALL areas of jazz EVEN harmony. When you listen to his ballet’s you discover this for yourself.. that’s how I know you haven’t listened to his ballad’s or listened to them in the right way! Greetings..
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I can just imagine the piano catching fire while he's getting really into the solo like in a cartoon
the best best best and best and best he is best
I so, so, so, so, so, so,so, so, so,so, so, so,so, so, so,so, so, so,so, so, so,so, so, so,so, so, so, agree with you.
The quintessential Oscar Peterson. Love it!
Privilege of seeing him in the sixties at Baker's Keyboard Lounge-Detroit MI, phenomenal talent!
+Ray Opezzo Say him twice in the early 80s. My only regret is that I was a little too young to fully appreciate it. (about 10 years old) Actually feel asleep the 2nd time. :-( Damn....what I wouldn't give to see him perform, now.
If you're not blown away at what happens from 9:00 till the end... nothing in life will ever blow you away. Absolute masterpiece. Edit: and I might want to correct myself here and say from 0:00 till the end.
9:35 is JUST UNBELIAVABLE
The Master at work.
Awesome - the Belgrade concert is one of Oscar's best - he takes time for classical intro's and his improvs are as well build up as if he was composing Bach's Wohl Temperierte Klavier on the spot. Second version is out of this world, even Bach's.
HE IS THE BESSSSSST!!!
No.1 This Version and the second are probly the best i ever heard:X:X::) Oscar Peterson is the True Master
Oscar is one of the best pianist in human history. I still like Tatum's sense of harmony more though. Oscar plays improvisations at insane virtuoso level. However, Tatum's recordings are some of the best arrangements of the standards that exist to this day.
Tatum is a little bit dry because he remained in genius mode confusing other musicians and leaving them dizzy but Oscar has a sense of inclusion for the audience and warmth yet moves in Genius mode.
Yes, Mcrohof, I totally agree. Oscar is one of the monuments of the hole Music's history. I would be very happy to hear more of this awsome concert in Belgrade! Best regards, Pierre
A brilliant interpretation , wonderful and creative music.
the first version is favourite version of autumn leaves :)
Ufff que belleza
Nice. I've never heard the 1st version before. It's very similar to more popular version, but slightly different. I love it. Nobody, on any instrument, does Autumn Leaves like O.P., except for maybe.....Stanley Jordan.
Great!
super
Oscar is the most melodic piano virtuoso
ahha todo un loquillo!
Love it, thanks beaucoup!
Autumn Leaves....don't know how anyone can even think that fast....
Trust and believe he picked up every leaf!
Virtuoos! Prachtig!
Nice performance 👍
yeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhh
I don't know if he's humming or talking, but I love the sound he makes when he's really cooking. He was so elegant and soft spoken that it's a really cool contrast to his demeanor in interviews. You can really hear it when he surprises Ella for the encore or Stomping at The Savoy in Rome.
Errol Garner used hum and groan while playing.
He sings everything he plays
Second version is very nice.
the second version is played in perfect "Peterson Style" :) with an unforgettable "Art Tatum Flavour"!!!
Ich war im Saal!!!!
It's too good. Damnit.
Думаю, что это произведение просто низкий поклон Оскара творчеству Леграна, коллеги и великого мастера фортепиано...
Low bow?? 🧐 Legrand is good but nowhere as good as OP is!
Thank you all, for watching,,,, Subscribe To my channel!
check out the autumn leaves version with just Oscar and Dizzy, completely different solo, where did he get all these versions? superhuman
The drummer isn't timbolie it around, the bassist isn't scott lafaroing it ..they lay it down hard and cool.and oscar does his thing, and this tune becomes magic
5:33
Nils Orsted Henning Pedersen runs Ray Brown a close second on bass however.
‼️
who dont like this.....why
at first I thought that he was playing so what
hah
muffinchini same here =)) he was probably just referencing it in his intro
Christ All Mighty!
I've been comparing renditions of Autum Leaves by so many piano players and not even piano players but other instruments ass well and there are only three versions that really make me crazy and I can hear those all day nonstop, these are:
1-. These two versions by Oscar Peterson
2-. ua-cam.com/video/r-Z8KuwI7Gc/v-deo.html by Bill Evans
3-. ua-cam.com/video/7t3xBqAWLaU/v-deo.html by RomDraculas and tourist improvisation at the bass.
All the rest in my opinion over do it, under do it, or simply just screw it up.
Check out Errol Garner.
@@zivkovicable Wanted to mention him as well:)
the 2nd version reminds me a better part of Art Tatum
Anyone else notice the typo on the sleeve? THIPGEN.
Yeah, did notice it, but you see these type mistakes a lot on "bootleg" releases, CDs etc.
jesus
The Tivoli Gardens version, in my very humble opinion is better. But hey, its still OP!!
why he is so fast... thats god or !!?? :D
