Such a shame that the movies' actual credits aren't long enough to let John Williams expose his full "end credits" compositions. I watched The Attack of the Clones the other day and waited for the Anakin's Theme and the Imperial March at the end.... But nope! Only Accross the Stars.
I didn't realize it until years after I'd seen this film, but at 9:38 the music shifts into a very melancholy rendition of Anakin's Theme from Episode I, lasting until around 9:57. It sounds so... Depressed, and it perfectly foreshadows how The Imperial March creeps its way beneath the final seconds of Accross the Stars. John Williams' score truly is the most polished, memorable aspect of the Prequel Trilogy, and I think this choice was a simply ingenious way to end Episode II. Things are bright and hopeful now... But in reality, the end is near. The Darkness is coming, and like it or not, it can't be stopped.

Yep. From 9:05 forward, it musically summarizes the prequel trilogy. There was the polished queen, the awkward young Anakin, then the budding romance, the realization of the romance at the same time Anakin began his fall, the one last attempt to save him, and his final turn via the deep string bass playing the melancholy Imperial March. One of the most moving 90 seconds of music anywhere.

I really do think this is my favorite ending to a Star Wars movie in terms of music and atmosphere. This really made me want to see what happens next. Yeah there were some flaws with the prequels, but we can't forget that they certainly had redeeming qualities as well.

I had to do a double take when I first heard this piece and could here the differences from this version of "Across The Stars". Using a harpsichord in lieu of the harp. It's my biggest problem with TFA, more so than the 3rd Death Star- the film is too fast paced and too tight for John Williams to really shine. The music for Han's death is so underwhelming, plus no London Symphony Orchestra.
Exactly. I couldn't really hear a lot of star power in his work for TFA. I know a lot of my sentiment is embedded in his prequel works, but the actual music there is stunning, it tells a much deeper story than the movies ever could.
Well, the reason John Williams didn't use the London Symphony Orchestra for The Force Awakens was because he was having health problems. So they flew a smaller orchestra to a studio near his home for recording so he didn't have to travel to the UK to record. But I totally agree. Definitely underwhelmed by The Force Awakens OST
Agreed. If I'm honest, I actually enjoyed Michael Giacchino's score for Rogue One much more than John William's for The Force Awakens. I know it's heresy against John Williams but after multiple listens, my mind is made up haha. Also, Giacchino scored Rogue One in only 4 weeks (the original composer dropped out and he had to be replaced at the last minute), which makes it even more impressive.

I am not a big budget Hollywood film maker , but I can tell you this . The prequels are some pretty far out there movies . Way beyond Hollywood's cardboard cutout cereal boxes as movies product . True star wars . Totally original . Three of them !! We have these plus the original three . Now we have. Cereal boxes . Lucas is a great movie maker and artist . He tells stories with heart . Love attack of the clones in particular

The atrocious, saccharin, fumbling writing of Episodes I and II are proof of that. Lucas lost it when he made Phantom Menace, and Attack of The Clones is just...Bad. Revenge of The Sith was an improvement, but none of the prequels can even be mentioned in the same breath as the original trilogy.

sorry but i have to agree with him, most scenes in the prequels weren't thought out well. like for example, like some decisionmaking of those "heroes". one example in episode 3 when mace wants to confront sidious with "the best swordsmen of the jedi" which all beside mace move like drunken idiots and all die in just a few seconds ...there is also a site which explains all the issues the prequels had perfectly. they look and sound like star wars but didn't feel like star wars

Funny enough, I imagine I've heard this more times on the game than the movie 'Attack of the Clones'. I got riveted the first time I saw the ending of 'Attack of the Clones', hearing the Imperial March as the Clone Troopers march... because that ties into that confounded PALPATINE standing there. Across the Stars really pays off here, as it is played more regally for the actual marriage. I remember on my first viewings in the theater, initially thinking that 'Attack of the Clones' had a more sad ending, but looking back on it with multiple viewings over the years on the DVD... not so much. Despite losing his right arm, Anakin's proudest moment is here, and everything is going good for him and Padme.

I imagine an alternate universe where Padme survived, and joined Vader. And a touch of good in Vader when he gently feels Padme's pregnant belly. "For better or for worse".

I can't cry sometimes, not because I'm too macho, but for some reason my tear ducts won't work even when I want them to. Sitting down and doing nothing but listening to this opened up something inside me, and I found myself weeping like a child. Thank you, Williams, for that ten minutes of blissful catharsis.

Omg that game was actually the best. Still like it better than the sequel, although the sequel brought some unique things to the table. I was really hyped for 3...until LucasArts went under and EA/DICE made their thing. I wouldn't have been so mad at DICE if they would've just called thier game something other than battlefront. It's a starwars shooter sure, but it's far from a battlefront game.
I think that most of us can agree that while the prequels did a lot of stuff wrong, the soundtracks weren't one of them. These scores are truly incredible. Am I right?

I imagine an alternate universe where Padme survived, and joined Vader. At 3:30 we see Vader walking on the star destroyer bridge to oversee the death star construction, and at 3:38 Padme enters the room to hold his hand and they watch the construction together. And a touch of good in Vader when he gently feels Padme's pregnant belly. "For better or for worse".

I just love the female vocal melody at 1:15, it's beautifully haunting like a touching, vicious and sexy seduction between a Sith and a Jedi. It reminds me the seduction of Cade Skywalker by Darth Talon in the Legacy comics ^^

Omg that game was actually the best. Still like it better than the sequel, although the sequel brought some unique things to the table. I was really hyped for 3...until LucasArts went under and EA/DICE made their thing. I wouldn't have been so mad at DICE if they would've just called thier game something other than battlefront. It's a starwars shooter sure, but it's far from a battlefront game.

To be honest the prequels are great. George took risk in creating a new trilogy. I feel Disney star wars us backtracking. The third act is coming and I feel nothing progressed from force awakens to last jedi.
